The coffee was old so after one sip did not drink. Then I told the waitress no mushrooms but she brought me a omelette with mushrooms so they had to remake it . When it arrived it looked good . But it was filled with too much cheese and oil pouring out of it which was not good to me and no flavor. The waitress was nice and the manager asked did I enjoy everything on the way out . Following a prolonged attempt to attract the waitress's attention, we waited for 30-minute we with no service. When I approached the front desk to request assistance, I was told that some one be there in a few minutes and well 20 mi. No one came to attend to our needs. Upon proceeding to settle the bill, I was disappointed to be informed that, having consumed my meal, I was obligated to pay. I conveyed my dissatisfaction and requested a complimentary dish or discount, only to be threatened with police action . The service was woefully inadequate. Farmer Frank's is located in the heart of Eastern Market so be prepared for a long line and a fully packed restaurant if you're looking to visit on a summer Saturday. That said, even though the line was king, we were able to be seated quickly. The staff was hustling - tables were turned fast and food service was speedy. We both enjoyed the entrees we were served and there was plenty to pick from on the menu. Lighting inside is a bit dark but was no problem for us! The server was over on an instant asking for drink and food orders- and we weren't ready yet. We ordered. They had some custom sausage that my friend tried and he mentioned it was a bit greasy. Don't we just love a good Yelp discovery? I was browsing Yelp for places to grab brunch that were a little bit removed from the immediate downtown area and found Farmer Frank's. Nate and I were in town for a wedding recently and met up with another friend here for breakfast on a Friday morning. There was no wait which was great - I can see this spot getting really busy, especially on days when the Eastern Market is open, since it's right next door. The menu has a lot of classic choices and everything sounded great. I went with the classic breakfast sandwich with bacon on white toast. It came with a pickle spear. Nate got the farmers famous sausage skillet, and our friend got the breakfast combo. Everything was delicious! The breakfast sandwich was delightful, with crispy bacon and bread that was toasted just enough but not too much. The skillet was full of veggies and delicious sausage. The sausage was one of my favorite parts of the meal and I didn't even order any. I wouldn't make this mistake again next time! Our server was really busy, but super polite and friendly. We stopped in before a holiday market at Eastern Market. There was also an NFL game so they were slammed. The service was pretty good considering how busy they were. My husband really liked the corned beef. The very berry waffle and cinnamon roll pancakes were calling my name. However, they called their sausage "famous" so I had to try it. Loved it here. We were seated fairly quickly for a weekend. The decore is nice love the exposed brick the waitress disappeared on us but another waitress heard us talking about wanting the bill so she stopped by our table and printed it for us. Farmer Frank's in Eastern Market is really good. Went for my 2nd time this year for Mother's Day. Free and close parking, no wait, service was a little slow (but only a little and only this time. The decor was the typical modern raw wood panel walls and open ceiling for a fairly warm ambiance. The food was very good both times so I can't imagine anyone would get bad food there. What a huge disappointment! I had researched prior to trip from Florida places for breakfast in the Detroit area, Farmer Frank's had great reviews, we arrived before 8am so it was not busy ( we were able to choose our seat opposed to being seated by staff), our server came and asked if we wanted coffee, we got our coffee and water, placed our order and then didn't see our server again until I called her to table because one order needed sending back! When it returned it still wasn't as requested but was eaten anyway, and still no check in about food or refills she didn't even bring us our bill! I did speak with management about the one order, he offered to remake but at that point we were finished and just ready to leave ( I'm not one to think food shouldn't be paid for but in this case I think taking that item off the bill would have been a better solution!) This restaurant has 2 single gender neutral restrooms that were handicap accessible however the one we used although at first looked clean the base of the commode was stained with urine as if it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Overall, I can see where this restaurant has great potential but this visit just dropped the ball. Maybe will try on another visit to the D!!! read more

However, our party had to eat with plastic utensils because the restaurant didn't have clean silverware available. They also didn't have some of the items we wanted off of the menu. In addition, we were interrupted by our server a couple of times to assist her in refilling condiment bottles on our table. This was my first time here, as it was recommended by family. The restaurant was relatively empty when we were first seated. After placing our order, a very large group of people came and our server essentially forgot about us and made the large group her focus. I suspected it was for the bigger tip. No sweetener was at the table for coffee, my request was never granted and l had to go to counter to get it myself. We weren't given any water but the larger group received theirs. I asked for scrambled eggs and was given a small omelette. The toast came when the meal was just about done, ice cold and stale.
