I went today to buy a battery for a digital watch of my late father in law that probably dates back to the 90's (approx value $60). I explained that watch is only of sentimental value and not worth much and that I just wanted to see if it worked by replacing the battery. I was quoted at the counter for $29.99. I asked why it was so much. The clerk responded that it has been the same price for 30 years. After saying that I think I can buy the battery online for less than $5 (kindly) he offered to sell me the battery for $10 which I decided was fair. However, he then looked at me and in a cocky manner, asked "What kind of battery is it?" Then, I responded, "I don't have a tool on me to open it." He shrugged his shoulders and gave me a look. I said "I guess I can't buy it then." I left disappointed. There were no other customers waiting. Just me and his horrible service. If you don't want my money, I will stop bringing it there. I won't be referring clients anymore either. I will certainly bring my business somewhere that wants it. I gave the review a "could've been better" because I know he could have done better. He could have been nicer. Less cocky. Less crass. I feel badly for the owner of this business that this guy represents the company. He lost a customer over $10. Was it worth it not to pop the watch open so I could buy a battery? read more

I brought in an older European ladies watch (my aunt gave it to me). I had knocked it against my desk at work and knocked off the little knob (to turn when you want to change the time). The time smith (my made up job title...lol!), quoted me $50 for the repair. When I returned to pick it up after work, he said it was a complicated fix that took him the whole day! It should've been a $200 job. But, because he already gave me the quote, he stood by it! I felt so bad! So, I gave him a hug as thanks, and promptly wrote this 5 star yelp review! Honest guy! I've been going to this location since 2013 (it used to be Hratch there but he moved to a different location). Now you have Francisco there and he is excellent, very patient and willing to adjust the watch band/bracelet for me over and over until we get a perfect fit. His customer service is impeccable, highly recommended. I wouldn't trust anyone else with all my watches. read more

I was happy with the work of this place it's the management that I'm not happy. They lost a bracelet and a necklace of mine due to riots and looting in LA and they completely ignored taking any responsibility and haven't paid me or even tried to resolve the issue w me. My jewellery cost is around 10k and when I went in person to their store and complained and demanded resolution the manager wanted to call the security to throw me out of the store. So be aware of leaving ur jewellery over night in the place and make sure to take pictures and have enough documents to support ur case. Now I'm taking them to small claim court and I even tried to do mediation through small claim court they didn't even respond. I see bunch of thieves running this chain read more

I was heartbroken that my one ring prongs were bent while changing a five gallon water bottle. Which disengaged the diamond. My normal Jeweler had a three week repair waiting time even on small repairs. I just happen to pass by this place on my way to the Apple Store and I'm glad that I stopped in to get information. My husband and I went there on June 8 to have some jewelry repaired. We were told that the jeweler would not be in until 12:30 pm and he had to finish the repairs from the day before so I could not my items back until the next day. My husband left his watches to get batteries and we went back around 1:15 to pick them up. The jeweler was flirting with these young girls at the counter asking them to go have coffee with him. This went on for about 10 minutes while we waited for his watches. I see now why he never gets his work done! This was always our go-to place for jewelry repair but I found his behavior offensive. We walked over to Stop & Fix and they did my repairs on the spot. They are my new go-to. read more

They LIE - or giving them the benefit of a doubt, are just really incompetent! I took a watch to Fast Fix a few years ago and got a battery replaced for $50 and they gave me a 5 year warranty. A couple years passed, the battery died, so I took the watch back to Fast Fix to replace the battery under the warranty. Fast Fix told me they changed the battery and the watch still doesn't work and requires a $250 repair. I went to another watch shop (Timeland on Olympic and Westwood) to get a repair quote from them and they said lets try changing the battery first and if it doesn't work then we can see how much a repair would cost. Timeland changed the battery for $15 and the watch worked! There was nothing wrong with my watch but Fast Fix wanted to charge me $250 to "fix" my watch when it just needed a new battery. Either they lied and tried to scam me, or they are that incompetent that they don't know how to change a watch battery. Stay way! Even when they're not lying (or being incompetent), they're overpriced for the same stuff you can get elsewhere. My business is going to Timeland! read more

I recently took one of my favorite watches there to have a couple of links removed, it was near closing time and Fernando was very polite and although my watch would require extra time he still took on the task with a smile on his face. Short version: Sketchy, and very inflated prices. For the full details, see below. I have an old family ring that recently lost a prong. It's a decent sized diamond in there which was getting jiggly, so even though no one has been wearing it, it still needs fixing before that stone is lost for good. I recalled seeing a jewelry repair store in the mall, so on a Saturday outing, I decided to bring the ring with me. The woman who initially approached me couldn't help, so she waved down a guy who could have been the manager or owner, I'm not sure. The exchange with the guy was basically this: Me: Hi, I need this prong fixed. Him: (sucks in a big breath) Yeah, this looks bad. I can fix just the prong for $80, but if you want the ring properly repaired, it'll be $200. Me: Wow, $200 is a lot. What exactly would you do other than fix the prong? Him: Well...the other prongs need to be repaired also because they're worn. It needs to be reconstructed. (mumble mumble) The whole thing. It's a lot of work. But I can do it in 20 minutes. Me: Wait, it's a lot of work but you can have it ready in 20 minutes? You know, $200 seems like a lot. Let me consult with my relative, since this ring is hers. Him: Whose ring is it? Me: I'll get back to you about the ring. Thank you (preparing to leave). Him: OK, well I'll do the work for you for $100. Me: What? The $200 work? Him: I'll fix the ring for $100. Me: What work for $100? Him: I'll have it ready in 20 minutes. At this point, I went with my gut and I left. My son even remarked to me, "That was weird." Was it $200 of work? $100 of work? $80? Come on, they're not running a charity, so what the hell was that all about? A few minutes later we were walking through the mall and we spotted Jewelry Collection. I decided to chance it again and get an estimate. The estimate was a fraction of what Fast Fix wanted, and the work ended up being excellent - separate review for them if you're interested. I have a feeling the Fast Fix guy wanted me to commit to getting the repair on the spot because he knew if I shopped around, I'd find a better price and less skeevy service. That kind of weird haggling and shady dealing is no way to run a legitimate business. read more

I brought in a broken silver chain and asked if it could be fixed and made a few inches shorter (from roughly 21" to 18"). The girl behind the counter said, "Sure, he's in tomorrow morning and can do it first thing." I was asked to prepay $20 for this. I picked up my chain today and I should have examined it in the store (I was in too big a hurry). It is ruined. Not only does it look like total patchwork, they didn't even shorten it. It is the exact same length it was before, only now it has an unsightly bubble-like addition where they obviously soldered the chain. In the end, I paid $20 for them to ruin it. I will not bring any jewelry here again and will advise friends of the same. read more

My wife brought a ring here to be resized. They quoted her $460. I knew that was WAY too high. I asked how long it would take they said about an hour, they tried saying it's so expensive because it's platinum and it's a precious metal. It's a 1mmx3mm piece and platinum isn't THAT expensive, so how much do you charge for labor? Long story short I called Morgan's jewelry store they quoted $125. read more

Skilled and considerate staff, speedy service I've been having my watch battery replaced for years by these lovely people. They not only do a great job, but they keep track of when it was done. Once the battery wore out too quickly and they replaced it at no charge. Recently I bought some diamond studs online and was concerned if they matched the certification. Cesar was kind enough to take the time to examine them and to reassure me that the diamonds were of as-promised quality. He was careful, thorough, and pleasant, and he made me feel much better about such a crazy impulse purchase because it turned out I got a great deal. Fast-Fix Jewelry and Watch Repair is conveniently located just outside Gelson's in the Century City Mall, and I will continue to use and trust them for my jewelry and watch repair needs. I am mostly complaining because the girl who said her name was Vanessa refused to give me my watch when I went to pick it up at 8:45pm. The mall closes at 9pm. All the lights were on, but you could not walk in because the anti-theft bars (gate) was down, but you could easily reach through and hand me my watch. Vanessa refused to give me my watch. I said, "excuse me, you are probably violating your lease by closing early, I don't care if your cash register is closed, I owe nothing, I am just here to pick up my watch." She gave me attitude by saying they were closed again and proceeded to ignore me and turn out the lights and walk out the back. SO LAME! They had my watch repeatedly because moisture kept getting in it after I would take a shower or just get rained on! I don't recommend this place! read more

I can only recommend this place if you want a simple resizing or repair job with a lower value piece of jewelry. Anything higher end, don't trust this place.. do better research and find a better place that does higher quality work for a more reasonable price. Speaking of price.. this place rips you off. Before it was fast fix jewelry, there was a similar looking jewelry repair shop here (many years ago) that had this excellent jeweler working and he sized several of my rings for $15 each. They were all difficult, stone-crusted rings, and he did a perfect job. When it turned into Fast Fix I was surprised the price shot up so much, and the quality of work was nothing noteworthy. They charged around $40 for resizing a simple band that would cost $20 max elsewhere. I guess you are paying for the mall location? It surely could not be for quality... read more

There has to be better providers for watch battery replacement in the area. Their fees for battery replacement are unreasonable. There isn't a posted policy of their 'warranties' or rates for different services provided. I brought in a watch that was a battery warranty although I didn't have the receipt. Retail has not modernized drastically in the past 2 years where retailers don't have some electronic file of your warranty transaction. I expected that they would be able to look up the transaction. They could not. The 'manager/owner' said that they 'mark' the inside of the watch back cover to indicate warranty work. I told the manager explicitly that I knew the watch was within warranty. He started to become angry to me when questioned about policies they don't have posted, even in front of my 11yrs old. When asked what would the costs be for non-warranty replacement, they said it would be $40-something for a battery replacement. In the end, I said I knew it was a warranty replacement, they opened the case and replaced the battery. I have no idea why this franchise owner was so difficult considering I was a returning customer and clearly is at a location where most traffic is not looking for a repair. I will not return to this location. They should be clear on their pricing, warranty and provide front-of-store staff that better understand consumers with repair needs and offer services that provide value and protection. Fast-fix needs to fix this location. I understand that the Owner has an additional four locations - I hope they are managed with a different sense of service. read more

This Place is a JOKE.. Do not go .. My Husband went in with like 5 watches and as other people here mentioned they want like 50$ to change a battery in each watch! He had one battery changed and left them a watch to see if they could add on some links to it so he could fit it, they quoted him $200 a link, silver links.. LOl $200.. lets take a minute and think about that.. He went back and got his watches then first they couldn't find one watch and told him the link watch, they had sent to another store so now he has to go back again. Unbelievable!! We never had any problem with this store but the new manager has zero customer service. My wife's watch was not working and had moisture underneath the crystal. They replaced the battery and dried the watch and we were out of the store, but I realized there is still fog under the crystal. My wife told the manager there is still water under the glass. The manager takes the watch, saying that "no, it's the dial which is damaged by water, the crystal's dry, I told you it will never be OK!." This goes back and forth and he yells at us asking us to step aside while they figure out. I held the watch in an angle and it was obvious that there was fog under the glass. No rocket science. I thought maybe we were hallucinating and he is right! Well, the jeweler opened the watch and 5 minutes later, the watch is clear after the repairman simply dried the crystal and admitted it was moist. Confirmed we were right. Now I lost it and yelled back at the manager... "Why did you yell at us and why it's so hard for you to apologize when you failed at something?" Just admit and apologize, the minimum thing. .. I brought my husband's marathon medal in to be engraved on my lunch break -the salesgirl was VERY sweet and when I told her I was hoping to have it that afternoon as a surprise, the engraver told me he would bump me up in line so it would be done. When I returned after work, I wasn't expecting it to be done but it was and I am very happy with the result. They were also very courteous about accepting the discount coupon I brought in. Overall very impressed and I will absolutely go there again for similar jobs. The only reason I'm withholding the last star is because the name I had engraved is slightly off center. I will go there again for engraving, eyeglass repair, etc but will continue to take my expensive jewelry to my jeweler. read more

I stopped in per a recommendation from my mother. I brought them 4 pairs of earrings to be repaired. 2 were simple, they just needed new hooks. The other two were a little more complex but they were able to repair them too so I would get a few more years out of them. Or so I thought. Instead, both pairs broke within a few months. One broke within 2 weeks due to poor cauterizing that should have been fixed and the other pair broke today - my second time wearing them since they were fixed less than a month ago - when one earring became disconnected from the hook. Terrible, shoddy work. I am REALLY disappointed especially having paid almost $50 to get them fixed. I'd love to have my money back or at least an offer from them to actually fix what I thought I paid for the first time. read more

I took my ring in to get resized. It was too big and would fall off. He gave me a great price (better than anywhere else I called) and even though he was busy, he was able to do it the same day. When I came back, it was a little too snug. He took it back and loosened it a bit. It was still a little snug, but told me to try it out for a few days and to bring it back if it was too small. A few days later, I decided to bring it back. He spent another 15 minutes working on it and it was perfect. He'll clean your ring each time and make sure the sizing gets done right - and all for a great price. read more

Let me tell you a story about a stupid man that took his very important jewelry to the downtown jewelry district thinking that they would know what to do since they do it all day everyday...well let this be a lesson to you all NEVER ever ever ever ever take your jewelry to downtown...instead you should bring it here and have Tony help you out. Not only was the work done unbelievably fast but the quality of the work and the service that Tony provided were top notch and I couldn't imagine a higher quality experience especially for the price that I paid.
