To find good food in LA isn't hard especially when it comes to Mexican food. I was in the mood for tacos or Tortas and I didn't know where to find a good place so I went to yelp for help. I looked up tacos and this was one of the first places to pop up. I said fuck it and tried this place out. It's a small place but it looked promising. I decided to get their al pastor torta. This torta was small in my opinion and the flavor was just alright. The torta came with a poor looking onion and a bite worth of lemon lol. On a plus they did have a pretty big salsa bar. For the reviews this place had I was expecting more from them. Maybe I got the wrong thing maybe I should've had their asada? Would I go back to this place? I'd give them another shot down the road and see how other meals compare to my first but this place for sure isn't at the top of my list. read more

Fast taco has some great food. Definately the best mexican food and tacos in Chatsworth hands down!!! I've tried almost everything on their menu and this place has NEVER disappointed me. I work across the street and so far, Fast Tacos is my number one taco place in the area. The carne asada and pollo tacos are the must haves here. The meat for the carne Asada and pollo are just such good quality and the right amount of juicy. Usually taco places make their meats too dry, but not here. Will be back anytime. Who could disagree with me that Fast Taco has one of the best burritos in town?? Even with the name implies, you need to come here for their burritos my amigos and amigas! While the LA Clippers were playing on the tube, big bruddah' decided it was time for some burritos and tequila. Of course, you don't hear me complaining so we jumped onto Yelp and found this place and decided to check it out. Let me tell you the good: the best tasting al pastor burritos ($4.95). The staff made it in front of us and they heated the meat onto a huge flour tortilla on the grill and then the magic happened. I asked for light rice but heavy on the salsa and guacamole. It also came with a single strand of grilled green onion. In addition, they had a homemade, self serve salsa bar. Now the bad: the parking!! it's in the middle of a mini market where everyone and their mother are shopping! It took me forever to find a parking space while I illegally parked. If you know what you want to order, call them first and place your order. Trust me! And be sure to stuff your pockets with cash because that's the way they roll. OK folks. This is a long term review. In the 1980s, I used to come here as a high school kid. My dad owned a machine shop down the street, and after a Saturday of cleaning toilets (for machinists) for pennies b/c "it helped out the family", my only motivation to get through it was my dad would treat me to food at fast taco. I remember the al pastor burrito with sauce dripping down my arm, grilled green onions and awesome salsa bar. Fast forward to June 2014 (and the same owner was there!). . . .My palate has matured and I can't believe how right I got it as a kid. LOVED the food. Everything they do is from scratch and you notice it. From the salsa bar - with the onions covered in flecks of cilantro, pickled carrots and earthy salsa picante - to the flavored pastor, yummy asada made from a good (not chewy) cut, everything was purposefully and tastefully prepared. It peeves me a little that they don't take credit, and that the plaza's a little hard to get into at this intersection. Their al pastor burrito may be my favorite one here, but they have some other burritos that come in as close seconds. This place is exactly what I was looking for: A hole in the wall with good, cheap, and fast mexican food. I had the chicken burrito, spicy, with rice and beans. The chicken was very nicely seasoned and had a perfect level of heat. The beans were refried and better than average. The rice was a little sticky and not so hot, but the rest of the food made up for it. The salsa bar had a good selection of fresh home made options. I will be back for sure. This place is magical...they don't have the look of a delicious mexican joint, but they deliver some of the best food in the valley. I recently discovered this place about 6 months ago after my fiancee told me to check it out (she grew up in Chatsworth) and I've been going here for lunch once a week ever since! When I'm on my diet, I get the Chicken Tostada (no beans or guacamole) and grab some of their freshly-made pico de gallo...perfect. Absolutely fantastic grilled meat tacos! You walk in the place and people say hello to you in a friendly welcoming manner. You see them grilling up the meat right in front of you - which I love to see. With anything you order, they also serve you fresh grilled scallions marinated in a salty spice of flavor. The location of this place makes it one of those gems you're likely to drive by and ignore, even if it's right off your daily commute. It a perfect example of what makes yelp so great. I would have missed out on Fast Taco if it wasn't for Yelp. Don't be scared off by the small parking lot and the tiny package. The place is indeed small and pretty basic inside and out. There are a couple of dining tables inside, but eat-in space is limited. So on to the important part... the food: it's awesome. You really couldn't ask for more from a quick/inexpensive Mexican joint. The burritos are huge... even the heaviest of eaters would be hard pressed to finish one if they get a combo plate with beans and rice. The tacos are delicious. The refried beans are super tasty. The grilled green onions they include on the combo plate are a nice little surprise. You don't expect them to be anything, but you end up wanting a few more after tasting it. After two delivery orders (good ones!!) I finally made it in to the shop... boy people weren't kidding about the parking... but it worked out ok because I couldn't find them and accidentally parked at the taco place across the street. (Poor Other Taco Place, you should have seen how crushed their faces were when I went in to ask if they were Fast Taco, and they got quiet then pointed across the street.) Anyway the people at Fast Taco were super nice, the place was uber-clean, and their salsa bar even has one of those heavy metal lids on it to keep the salsa pristine. An update on their salsa: Salsa Fresca = fresh tomatoes and onions Pico = Salsa Fresca plus just the right amount of jalapenos Then they have the salsa bar, with a couple of so-red-they-must-cause-steam hot sauces and an awesome green sauce, cilantro, and radishes. My favorite thing to discover: there were three guys with hair nets there ordering food (maybe from the sushi place next door? Or even the ooooother taco place, hmmm?). Restaurant has been here for more then 15 years and is constantly busy. Great quality meat, very sanitary and very friendly owners. I recommend a Carne Asada(steak) or Pollo(chicken) burrito for your first visit. If you've been a few times and are looking to try something new, I've been getting into the Al Pastor Tostada. Taco shell salad with lettuce, salsa, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and your choice of meat, mine being Al Pastor(pork). Great flavors, and a lot of food. Crazy to think I've been eating here for about 25 years-- my high school lunch place if I was super rich that day for some reason (or saved up my weeks lunch money to splurge on Friday.) Crazier is that it seems the two guys who run it and the cook look EXACTLY the same after 25 years. I think there's some crazy stuff in the food that keeps you young. Fast Taco is exactly what the name implies: taco stand quality food delivered quickly. I ordered the Veggie Burrito a few times, and I absolutely LOVE it! It's warm and full of carbs, and the guacamole doesn't have giant chunks of onion in it, so I can actually eat it, yay!!!!! Four stars because I ordered tacos once, and the quality of the meat kinda scared me off. I'm sticking to the Veggie B from now on- I can't eat anything with gristle-y pieces, or a weird texture. What sets this taqueria apart is its fusion of healthy presentation and authenticity. Yesterday, I ordered the al pastor burrito. Aside from it being the sweetest of any I've had, there was minimal grease. Nothing dripped out the bottom of the burrito knot, which can be expected at any other taqueria. The burrito was top notch--a crunchy exterior with a moist, flavorful interior. I assure you, this is no Chipotle Anglo burrito. Search my reviews so you can understand the ire I hold for Chipotle... I also appreciate that their rice does not become the most prominent ingredient when you request it. Some restaurants just dominate the tortilla with rice, thereby reducing my meat and bean intake--a cheap shot not taken by Fast Taco. Another element to judge a taqueria by is its salsa bar, and these guys don't skip a beat. The tomatoes in their salsa fresca were noticably vibrant, which indicates the freshness of their ingredients. Also, the salsa fresca has a distinct tanginess to it, which I'm way into; I detect vinegar. Additionally, they have mild, medium, hot salsa and salsa verde. I'm pretty sure I tried the hot salsa, which was perfectly eatable. It did not melt my face or scourge the tonsils. Nice smokey flavor. The salsa verde was all good too. One thing to keep in mind before stopping by is that Fast Taco is designed for to-go orders; it's in the name. There is a counter top/railing to used and a few small tables with stools. No thanks. However, I'm not exactly itching to sit down and eat in this neighborhood, so it works out!! Also, the parking lot is pure insanity!!! Squeezing into these spaces is a feat I will not attempt. You better park in one of the strip-mall lots across the street. Trust me, it's no hassle when a high sensory experience awaits you. As taqueria tradition would have it, this place is affordable while offering generous portions and free chips (unlike miserable Chipotle). That being said, quality is still job 1. Tried this place today and ordered 2 asada burritos, 1 for me and 1 for my co worker for delivery, took about 20mins to get here. The burrito I ate had a little too much salsa and guacamole in it so it made it a little soggy but was still good. It came with a free side of chips and salsa. The horchata was very good too. This is definitely one of the best Mexican spots in Chatsworth. My go-to's are: 1. Standard Burrito with Asada (Meat, Cheese, Beans, Rice, Guacamole, Salsa) 2. Pancho Burrito with Chicken (Meat, Cheese, Beans, Rice, Sour Cream) I have them grill my burrito on both sides when it's done, that way it has a delicious crispy crunch with every bite! Also, their home made Salsas are absolutely amazing. There's a delicious Brown Chipotle salsa and a Salsa Verde that I alternate with every bite of my burrito. This place rocks, and I cannot stress that enough. Sure their menu is a little limited, but that's only cuz they're good at what they do. Kinda like how In and Out has a small menu.. but no one ever complains about their burgers! I work a block away, literally.. so I'm very fortunate to be able to walk here for lunch on any given day (it's true about the parking... it really sucks). Me personally.. I get the same thing almost every time, "asada burrito, everything on it, spicy" .. They're asada steak tastes like they just cooked it every time i go... and they probably did cuz you always see them firing up steak.. burritos are pressed on a griddle so they get the perfect amount of toasty goodness in a tortilla... the mix of tomatoes and jalapeno peppers is perfectly perfect... for the fan of a little spice. the dining area is alright.. only 2 tables but a fair amount of side bar seating.. cool thing is they have a big flat screen on the wall... so they'll have it on cnn or some cool sporting event that is going on... not too shabby.. i'm a mexican myself... so you can imagne how many burritos i've had in my day.. this one TOPS THEM ALL... go here! This place is okay. I've only gone here once and tried the asada burrito and al pastor taco. It comes with some chips and salsa which is always nice. Salsa bar is very clean and always full of your usual taco condiments. I wasn't too crazy on the horchata as I've had much better. Theirs tasted very watered down and not as sweet as I usually have it. The asada burrito was okay, nothing special but the al pastor taco was very good. One thing that was off putting was the big thing of green onion that they just put in the box. It looked dead and very unappealing. There is absolutely no parking here when it's busy during lunch hours. This place is located on the corner of Lassen and De Soto which can get extremely busy. The lot is extremely small and hard to get into. The food here makes up for the horrible parking situation and you should definitely give it a try. I've ordered the carne asada burrito, the carne asada breakfast burrito, and the nachos here before and it's always been delicious. The meat is very tasty and the burrito is big enough to fill you up. The nachos are good as well and they give you a good amount to fill you up as well. I don't really mess around with the salsa bar as I like spicing my burrito with Sriracha when I get home but I heard it was good. Customer service is great, the guy, assuming the owner, is really chill. They cook the food in front of you which is pretty cool and you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner inside if you wish. read more
