Service is horrible!!! You go through the drive the woman taking orders acts as if you are bothering her nap. You wait 15 minutes for a hotdog. You say thank you and you get a look and the window closed... no your welcome, have a nice day... nothing! Just rude customer service! Absolutely made our family Christmas Party wonderful! We catered country chicken, baked penne, bow tie chicken Alfredo, and Mac and cheese. The food was amazing and we order small pans and the felt like they were large. Delivery was right on time and they even called Monday after the party to make sure everything was ok! My daughter brought us here and I was so happy!! Deep dish pizza! Crust was baked just right, and not soggy like some I have had. And small pizza was plenty for 3 people. My Son is a very picky eater but, he loves Fat Ricky's and will almost polish off a small pizza to himself. On this most recent trip we had is Aunt and Grandma in town. At time of ordering we had ordered a lasagna that was not brought out with the rest of the order. Drove in from out of town and had really mixed feelings about this place from reading the reviews...Honestly, we really enjoyed the food AND friendly service. We came on a Tuesday afternoon around 6pm and ordered a stuffed pizza, caesar salad, and a beer. We were advised at the register that the stuffed pizza would take about 30min. so no problems here. This place is more like a upscale big fast food restaurant with a bar inside. My wife and I found that it was very loud inside. The Cuban sandwich that we ordered was probably the best I ever had and the waffle fries they knocked that right out of the park. They were so good. I was hoping with the new remodel that possibly they would have changed up the food a bit. I was very disappointed with our meals tonight. First off, Monday is buy one get one free pasta, which is a great deal. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and chicken parm, as well as a salad and cheesesticks. The cheese sticks tasted very old and were very cold. The chicken parm was burnt and even the sauce tasted burnt. Had an awful after taste. The carbonara has no flavor what so ever. The reason I gave this review two stars was because of their salad. While very pricey, around $10 for a salad, it was very good. The ranch was nice and thick and the salad was fresh. I've been eating Fat Ricky's at my work functions for years, always good. But personally I just started going there, so I go there the other night, ordered online and wait for it. The kitchen manager gave me the wrong pizza but I didn't check it. However someone did and called me before I got three blocks away, I came back exchanged and got the right pizza and they gave me two pieces of cake (super yummy), for my troubles. I've been going to Fat Ricky's forever. Ever since the new building opened it seems as if the product has changed. When I'm in the area I always order the fried calzone. The last few times I ordered, the portion size has changed drastically. It used to be three times the size of what they are serving now. I understand product cost and overhead go up. So I was super excited to see this place moving into a new building from the old diner they used to inhabit. The food here was always on the bottom tier of "okay," if not for the fact it's pretty pricey for what you get -- maybe a move and new equipment would boost the quality and service. Nooope. I had an Italian combo sandwich and a side of fries and the person I was with ordered a small bowl of chili. The sandwich was okay -- the beef was tasteless and lukewarm. The sausage was a little better. I ordered it with hot peppers and it didn't seem to have much to it. The side of fries was pretty small for the price and came in a dinky metallic cup. I can see they're trying to elevate blue collared Chicago street grub, but they need to actually make the food better and then work on the presentation. The chili was actually room temp and kinda flavorless. My friend couldn't finish even the small bowl. When the staff asked how it was, I told him the chili was cold. He offered to reheat it. Not a very effective solution. The cashier was awkward and pretty much had no idea what he was doing. The menu is spread across three TV screens that shift the menu around every few seconds, since I guess the menu is more pages than screens. This is very annoying and makes it hard to read the menu board. They had music on, and it was crazy loud. To this place's credit, the building itself and the attached (little) Italian grocery are nice. The prices range from "wow that's cheap for that," to "that's really that much?" The pastries and baked goods looked nice. I could see this as a good meetup spot to have coffee with someone because it really is nice inside, but outside of that, it's still expensive crap food, and the main reason I haven't given this place my business for years. Bottom line: mediocre food, high prices. I've been to the old location a few times for fundraisers, once in the new place for coffee, and most recently the drive thru; so I've had a few chances to test things out. The coffee visit at their new place was a total bust. They have everything made automatically- literally just popped a cup under the spout and let it fill. The 2 lattes my friend and I received had burnt espresso and really crappy watery flavors. I paid $11 for two lattes and threw them away after one sip. It was that bad. My most recent visit was at the drive thru. Spent 10 minutes (seriously) to have a single, mediocre grilled chicken sandwich made. Paid nearly 7 bucks and 10 minutes of my time IN THE DRIVE THRU.
