Ok, I've been here more than 5 times. First review. The pizza slices are big, but a little to greasy for me. Im not going to focus on that though. The deep dish sausage pizza is really good 5/5 imo. Sauce is tasty, sausage is fresh and seasoned and the cheese is good and gooey. I tried the chicken gumbo great flavor no chicken‍. Gonna ask them to scoop from the bottom next time. In the past ive had there pan pizza thought it was good maybe time to reevaluate lol. And there wings phenomenal again I'll have to taste again and drop a review. This is my second time in Chicago and my husbands first so naturally we wanted to get him deep dish pizza! We came here and the supervisor was extremely nice he happened to be there to explain how to order and that you order at the register then it's a seat yourself which I actually prefer! So we ordered a large deep dish with just cheese (three vegetarians in our group) and I overall enjoyed the ambiance as live music played and the place seemed really lively! They were extremely nice for deep dish it takes about 45 minutes to be ready which is fine but around the 45 minute mark the same manager man came out and explained that they accidentally put pepperoni and sausages on our deep dish he offered to get us a free appetizer while we wait which was so kind! So we ended up being able to try fried zucchini for the first time! Which my husband really ended up liking, and then our pizza came and man these pictures do not do it justice. This was by far THE best deep dish I've had in Chicago!!! I ordered a large for our party of 4 because I have a husband and a dad that are big eaters and they were both really hungry but one slice completely stuffed me and my mom and just two completely stuffed my husband and dad! I thought this place was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was the best pizza I have ever had; however, it was pretty standard. They offer pizza by the slice which was nice because you don't have to order an entire pizza if you have some craving for it. They have other things as well. The service was relatively slow considering there weren't many people there, but everyone was nice. The inside is spacious and clean enough. Overall, I would say... it is a standard 3 star place with decent food and a standard pizza. read more

I absolutely LOVE coming to Fat Ricky's! The ambiance is perfect and it's always clean and inviting. I've gone here for lunch twice and I can't stop raving about the pasta! I have the pasta arrabiata and it's ABSOLUTELY delicious. The portion is great as I always have leftovers! You can definitely tell the owner takes pride in this restaurant and he's always present, smiling and really making the guests feel welcome. During this pandemic we've made sure to continue to visit and support them, but we've grown increasingly concerned at their poor mask use in the drive through lane and with employees we can see through the window while we wait. Now they've announced they are disregarding the Governor's order and will not honor the temporary closure of indoor dining. This place is like a roller coaster with order delivery! The lady that takes orders almost every day Monday to Friday at the drive-through is one of the best workers I have ever encountered, she is the bright spot for this business! Food is always consistent and good! However there is constantly a disconnect after the order is taken with the people that bag the orders or service customers, their new process with trying to get more people through the drive-through is not a success in my eyes orders constantly screwed up and people told to pull forward and wait for the order are forgotten. Banquets too?! We all know that Fat Ricky's has the best food in the area- from the Italian Beef, Pizza and the best Subs in all of Chicago- yeah, I said that. (Get the Massimo w/ Giardiniera- that's the real deal and will knock your #1 sub choice down to #2...) But, a not well enough known fact is that they do killer banquets on location w/ 2 separate halls! The pictures don't do justice as I was really focused on my Daughter's special birthday, but I've never had so many complements on the Venue, Food and Service from our guests like last weekend! I wish I would have taken more food pictures (we had so much and it was sooooo delicious!), the setup was beautiful and managed so well by the team. Ken & Kendall made the entire evening a memorable one... and an important factor was that they were masterful in keeping me and my guests taken care of without having to be asked (That attention to detail and body language!- They know what they're doing!). You know how events go, something is bound to go sideways at some point... Nope, not this evening, largely to the staffs credit. I also loved that it was truly a private event, tucked away and even has it's own entrance. This place is legit and I would recommend for an impressive BDay/Graduation, etc party, a Corporate event or a small wedding or reception... The space has great sound, natural lighting and flexible to be turned into what you want it to be. He said we're next to get delivered, at this point I'd think we would be 1st but ok I let that be. I also told him the pizza was supposed to be free with 1 topping(I only had 1 topping) the pizza was $14.40 the discounted it $12.54. He said sorry I'll give you your salad free. How about this I'll give you $23 and some change off. Don't know if I'll get a refund, we'll see. Just beware of the coupons and your receipts to make sure you're charged correct. As I walk into the restaurant I was greeted by Beverly the bartender she's great. I ordered the lasagne with sausage. Delishhhh! My Review, STAFF- ALL the Staff working at this location, are beyond amazing! From the time you walk in, your greeted by the mixologist if they are not busy. I've been a loyal customer to this establishment for some years, before the renovation and new location. Most of the staff have remained loyal to this business, I can only hope that RICK the owner acknowledges his staff and appreciates their work ethics. As the son of a Restaurant owner, we rely on our staff, and without happy staff the business will plunger. So continue keeping them all happy. And if they're not happy, make them happy. FOOD- My Reviews are fair, I'm a reasonable person, and I hold no bias despite my business with any establishment. Food is food, and in the restaurant industry we all need to be able to recieve constructive criticism. The Pizza is AMAZING only when it's Fresh! I understand that it's made by the day, but as a frequent customer and heavy pizza eater, you can tell when a slice of pizza is dry & has been sitting out for a few hours. I recommend, staying consistent with fresh slices, throw out the dry pizza. It's a small loss from a business standpoint. But Quality is what guarantees people returning. The good - their stuffed pizza is the best I've had in the Romeoville area. That tomato sauce is a balance of sweet and salty and their sub sandwiches are very under-rated, good deal for the amount of meat and toppings. Add to that some crispy krinkle fries and this place is doing a lot of things correctly. They have good soups which hit the spot in the winter, not a lot of places around here do that anymore. They have one of those soda machines which offers dozens of different flavor combos. (I never knew there was such a thing as cherry ginger ale). The take out is pretty consistent and the bar seems nice though I have never had any booze there. The not so good - their checkout line set up is confusing. They have a spot on the left side of the checkout that looks like it's set up for people to wait in line. But it is not clearly marked so some customers use it and some don't. That gets very messy, especially when the lunch rush hits. Speaking of that, having only one register open at noon is probably not a good idea. Napkins are nowhere to be found so make sure you ask for extra when checking out. read more

I work down the street from this Fat Ricky's and order from here often. The food is pretty consistent and fresh. I'm actually writing this review because last week I ordered the margarita pizza for pick up. While I was on my way to pick my order up someone from the store called me and told me that they were out of the fresh moz cheese for the pizza but they would have more delviered in about an hour. I wound up cancelling my order because I didn't have much time on my lunch break. Shortly after that one of the delivery guys, Arturo, showed up at my work with a hot and fresh pizza just the way I ordered it compliments of Marsha for the inconvenience. This was awful. No one in the place. We ordered a cheeseburger with only ketchup, a slice of pizza with a pepsi and a chopped chicken salad. 15 minutes. It was longer than that when they said they had to put the pizza order in again. Out comes the drink - Dr. Pepper. Out comes the order. No salad which they had to go looking for. Asked another lovely and friendly order taker, this was my first time at this fine Establishment, what is the favorite (s) Fat Ricky's known for: Pizzas (Thick and thin), Burgers, Beef & Sausage, Pastas, and their Wings. All my favorites, but since I was still working I chose there Gourmet "Onion" Burger. Awaited my Food, since it was being freshly prepared. They called my name and I proceeded to find a table. Fat Ricky's a bit better than Portillo's, in my opinion and again it's my opinion, cleanliness, attention to detail, truly helpful Staff, but it all comes down to their food. BTW, a Full Service Bar! Onion Burger had both sautéed & breaded onions came with a good portion of Waffle Fries. Extra napkins and better quality napkins were being used...makes the eating experience all that much enjoyable. Looking forward to trying more of Fat Ricky's other delicious. I rank their thin crust in top five of all Chicago. Very thin, great sauce, right amount of ingredients. Perfect. That's just the pizza. Their subs are the best anywhere. From the mossimo to the meatball they are great. Just about everything in menu is good. The hard part I have is what to order. I want the pizza but need the sub.
