We did not order pizza! So this review is based only upon the order we had delivered to us of two double patty smash burgers. I am a pizza lover but we will have to defer that review for a later time. Our order timely arrived via DoorDash and let me start with the bun. It was a nice bun not just some typical hamburger bun so it held up well with the ingredients in the burgers. Next the burgers were indeed smashed and doubled up on the bun with other ingredients. Those other ingredients included some onion , cheese, a decent sauce and a little lettuce we added to the order. Those ingredients were hard to see but overall the burgers looked pretty good! They had a nice flavor and I just wish we could have asked for medium rare as we love that in a burger. Still both burgers were tasty where you could get the beef flavor of the burgers. I do wish they were a bit bigger with the burgers and the buns but they were quite acceptable to us. At home I cut them in half and we each had half a double burger and bun. I did take a photo of the remaining half to show you the burgers were quite good and did not slouch on quantity or appearance. Next we shall try the pizza but this place rates a very solid 4 stars and is worth trying if you are in the area. This is my go to place for a late night slice. Indeed, if you come in late on Monday through Thursday, you can get a pizza and a beer for less than you might pay for a beer at other times. New York style is not my favorite, but the way that they do it is definitely to my liking. Fat Sully's takes me back to college, grabbing that late night slice after bar hopping. I've had Sully's both in-house slices/drinks and take-out full pies and they continue to have my favorite pep slice in all of Denver. The dough has great flavor and I think it's the cheese that really makes it. With a pie that large you worry about quality and consistency, but it's been great every time. I also love their burger and Sully's fries. The chipotle ranch is damn good and I want a whole bottle of that stuff. Only knock is it gets busy AF so pick-up can be a long process at times. Another great visit last night! I wanted to give a shout out to Nikki who was an absolute delight! We got the loaded garlic knots and our usual gigantic pepperoni pizza so we have lots of leftovers to take home. Ryan got the dragon lady drink and really enjoyed it so much he got 2! This place continues to be consistent and the best bang for the buck and delicious food quality pizza! Also everyone working here tonight was tons of smiles and seemed to be enjoying the night and the atmosphere was so fun and happy vibes. This was my first experience with Fat Sully's on Tennyson. I was picking up pizza and knots for the fam. I called in my order and was given a 20-30 minute completion time. Reasonable considering it was prime dinner time. The parking lot has two "To Go" parking spots for folks picking up. I appreciate that as parking in that neighborhood can be challenging. I showed up about 25 minutes after my call in and my order was ready. In addition to the parking spots, there is a to-go window. Instead of going into the restaurant to wait for carryout, there is a seating area outside. I got my order and headed home. We had a red sauced pizza with Italian sausage, oven roasted green peppers and oven roasted onions. A little note on the fact that they have oven roasted veg for the 'za, this is fabu! Sometimes raw, can still be a little harsh even after a run through a pizza oven. The oven roasted veg has a bit more sweetness and went perfectly with the sausage. When preparing to order (i.e. polling the kids on what sauce, toppings, etc.) I asked, "Do we want to get the loaded garlic knots?" To which the reply was, "Mom, that's a rhetorical question, right?" We got the loaded garlic knots. So advice for other folks...Get the loaded garlic knots!! They were delicious! The regular knots have garlic and parmesan. Loaded comes with a drizzle of pesto and two dipping sauces, creamy mozzarella with more pesto and their red sauce. Mmmmm. Full tummies and happy family. read more

The pizza is New York Style and you add whatever toppings you want to your slice. They have the classics and some unique options for toppings. I am so glad we have a great pizza place just a close drive away. I didn't feel like cooking and was craving pizza. So naturally we ordered a 20" pizza for dinner. We had only heard the reviews about Fat Sully's, this was our first experience. We got take out and the pizza was ready right in time so it was super hot when we picked it up. My only recommendation would be to ask for extra sauce. It was more toppings and not enough sauce in my option. I came to the bar next door with a friend and although they don't have food, you can order pizza from Fat Sully's next door which is awesome! I also ordered them from doordash this past weekend with a side of ceaser salad. So yeah the slices here are HUGE which I think is important if you're trying to be NY Style. I don't understand how some of these places in Denver have such small pizza slices. Anyways, I recommend the pepperoni because it helps make the pizza crispier since pizza tends to be dry here. So anyway the pizza is a bit oily which is typical NY style. The pepperoni are the cupped ones which are my fav! The sauce could be a bit more flavorful, but over it's pretty close to NY Style. Ok a fun spot to hang out. We went for happy hour so only had a beer and pizza slice. I'm not a huge beer person but it was refreshing and I enjoyed it. My pizza was DELICIOUS if I had time to go back for more pizza I would have. The fun part was you can pick two toppings even for the happy hour pizza slice! A friend told me they had a burger on the menu now. Not only was it the best burger I have had in Colorado- but the French fries were also perfection. The burger sauce they make, reminds me of the movie Good Burger. Shit is delicious secret sauce. & we all know from the pizza that the ranch is one of the best in town. Whether you know it as Denver Biscuit Company, Atomic Cowboy, or Fat Sully's, the building serves up the best burger in Denver. And, if you argue about whether it is the best, my comeback would be "well, then for VALUE, there is nothing close." $6 during HH, and a more than reasonable $9 non-HH, the thing is absolutely legit. Simple, to the point, and you will savor every bite. The staff is on point, the bar seating is spacious (big, square, multi-level bar), and they even have IPA's on HH (for those of us seeking that element out at places). Great atmosphere, although I hope they get some more TV's at some point for sports viewing. Highly recommend. Just go for the burger and it will be great. read more
