    Ponzu Scheme Bowl
    Meagan M.

Feisty Fish Poke is officially my favorite food truck, and the best poke I've had in Los Angeles! The owner Jeff is friendly, personable, & knowledgable, and everything seems extremely clean and fresh. I also liked their branding - great color choices, and for The Venice Fest, they had blow up palm tree decor. The Ponzu Scheme Poke Bowl ($20) is absolutely delicious! It comes with yuzu ponzu marinated yellowfin tuna, and all poke bowls come with seaweed salad, cucumber, and fluffy rice. The yellowfin tuna tasted extremely fresh and had the perfect texture, and I loved how the refreshing chilled poke paired with the warm rice. To find where they're popping up next, it's recommended to check their Instagram, @FeistyFishPoke_LA

Stopped by this place outta convenience while I was down in Culver City... never seen it before, and probably won't get another chance since I live about 3 or 4 hours away. They're set up in the quad right by TikTok's headquarters--pretty prime spot. The food truck looked clean. Staff seemed friendly. Everything looked up to code and the vibe was chill. But I did notice the drinks on display were kinda faded... not the most appetizing thing to see when you're tryin to get excited about your lunch. If the owner reads this--swap those out, man. It'd help a lot with presentation. I got a poke bowl that sounded good on paper, but honestly... it was just okay. Fish tasted fine, nothing sketchy, but it just didn't quite land the way I hoped. Could be my own personal taste though, so don't let that stop you from tryin it for yourself... I'm givin it 3 stars. Not bad. Not great. Just kinda... middle of the road. Some of that rating is probly just me bein picky. But I didn't wanna set the bar too high for others and have folks walk away disappointed. And if the owner happens to read this--I really did try to be fair. I feel a little bad not throwin in that extra star, but I was right on the fence...

I recently got to try this spot while attending a music festival and it was delish! I love poké so I'm always looking for new places to enjoy it. The fish was fresh and the spice on the fuego mayo was great. I loved the fresh cucumbers. They were crisp and the seaweed salad was a perfect compliment. The staff taking orders was friendly and food was coming out pretty quick! I would totally try this spot again.

Tried Feisty Fish over the weekend and I'm still thinking about it. Every bite was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My favorite? The Fuego Mayo -- spicy, creamy, and SO addicting. My friends and I devoured everything in minutes. It's rare to find a spot that hits all the marks: fresh ingredients, bold flavor, great portions, and super healthy. Whether you're a poke regular or just looking for something light and satisfying, this place is a must.

Fresh, tasty and Jeff has a very clean truck. Jeff made our Poke bowl in no time in all.I will be back.

    Spicy Ahi Tuna

Very dissapointed with the food that I received. In the picture, it looks like it is two big scoops of fish, along with avacado. However, what I received was a small box, around the size of my palm. There was only one scoop of fish, and no avacado to be found. On top of that, the sauce had a strange chemical taste. The picture and advertising at the food truck makes it seem like you will receive a plate of food, but rather it's just a tiny box! The food was also 20$ for that tiny box. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, FALSE MARKETING AND TINY PORTIONS FOR LARGE PRICES.

Food looks and tastes amazing. The owner is amazing and super on top of his stuff! Vibes and music is great!

We had Feisty Fish Poke cater a company event, and they were fantastic. Chef Jeff was great to work with--easygoing, professional, and right on time. The food was fresh and delicious. The fish was super fresh, and everything was put together with care. The ponzu sauce was probably my favorite--just really balanced and flavorful. I'd definitely recommend Feisty Fish Poke for any special event. It was a great experience all around.

Tried this new poke spot last night at the Siam night market in Hollywood. This spot was delicious. The tuna was fresh and had a great texture. The marinades were flavorful. The ponzu is the classic and it's exactly what you expect. Delicious, citrusy, and fresh. The spicy mayo was delicious. The mayo was actually a little spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The fish was still prominent.

As someone who has lived in Hawai'i, I can truly say this is some of the best Hawaiian style poke I've had in LA. Super fresh and delicious. I got the oyster style poke. Great food and great service!

It's more than I expected honestly. I usually do need quite a bit of food to keep my energy up, so I didn't really look up the portion size. I ordered a large macadamia nut pancake (comes with 3) with the cream on the side and an order of spam musubi (comes with 4). Highly recommend getting the cream on the side so you can control how much you want on your pancake. It's pretty sweet so I only wanted a light layer. Originally we planned to just share the pancakes and another dish, but when it came out, everyone's jaws just dropped. It is WAY bigger than any of us really imagined. We expected a small Denny's sized pancake. Nope, the pancakes were HUGE. Even when sharing, we were only able to share one pancake and had to to-go the other two for later. It fed me for 3 meals after that. I would like to say, being in here really reminded me of Hawaii. A few other things to keep in mind for your visits. I wasn't too thrilled about the flies, as I did spend a bit of our visit trying to swat them away. So do expect to battle flies every now and then. There's also a bathroom that's outside the restaurant that you have to get a key to open with. So if you're a super clean freak, you might want to make sure you don't need the bathroom while you're here. The water is also self served. This makes it easier so I don't have to keep flagging down someone.

Here's what I ordered: 1) Komai's Big Breakfast. Komai was Aloha's original chef. Two eggs with all the meats: Portuguese sausage, Spam, Vienna sausage, corned beef hash plus 2 scoops of rice and a Hawaiian roll. No surprises here, very nice. 2) Kal B Chicken plate lunch. Chicken marinated in the same sauce as the more familiar kalbi beef short ribs, with rice and mac salad. The chicken did not seem to take up the marinade as well as beef, so it was tasty but on the dry side. I'd probably give their chicken teriyaki a go next time. The mac salad was fine, did have potatoes. 3) Spam musubi. Again no surprises, classic 4) ordered a side of char siu, but it was not available. While I was staring at the menu deciding whether I wanted to get anything, several people came and went with their orders and everyone told me to get the fried chicken. So, I went inside and got the fried chicken with macaroni salad. A few mintues later, I added a katsu musubi to the order. This is not fast-food. The wait is real. About 12 minutes. I then had probably about 10 minutes of driving before I sat down to eat. The fried chicken is delicious and has a great crispy/crunchy skin. There is a faint sweetness that coats the chicken. The meat was not super plump like some national-chain places (I think those places brine-injected the chicken). Depending on your preference, this might feel too dry to you. Their dipping sauce for the chicken is very tasty. If they just sold that in bottles, I'd come just to buy that for use at home! Speaking of preferences, the macaroni salad is also well made, but it's simple and might be disappointing if you're expecting some kind of flavor kick. I liked it very much, because it is in the style of the basic macaroni salad -- someone described it as going home to Hawaii for them -- and I think that's what it is. Portions were enough to split into two meals. So I had half of my chicken and the mac salad. I had planned to also only eat half of the musubi. But it was delicious and had a nice crunch which I'm sure would not have held up being kept in the fridge. I really enjoyed the musubi on its own, but also enjoyed taking turns with bites with that sauce added on. I stored the rest of the chicken and mac salad in the fridge and then had them for dinner 6 hours later. Despite being in the fridge, the chicken still had a bit of a crunchy bite to it - it wasn't a mushy soggy mess. Very friendly service. This is not a sit-down place you go to for a dining experience - just a solid place to get food to go that will be delicious. It tasted a bit plain from other mac salads I've tried, but the noodles were cooked perfectly. For the price, the portion size is okay, but I'm not complaining since the food was good.
