Regardless of the switch up, this place is a great addition to Sawtelle. The shaved ice here is the perfect amount of sweet and very flavorful tried out a small melon, flavored shaved ice added mochi on the side and it was a perfect sweet treat after dinner. The place doesn't have much seating inside one table for two and bar seating along in the window, but they did have a few seats outside which I believe is for the whole plaza. As there are many options on the street for dessert I would say that this is one of the more refreshing choices. Never heard of this place before, Since I was waiting for my wife who was at a beauty parlor nearby, so I thought I would walk in to explore. We were looking for some shaved ice after dinner and Korean Ice Co was perfect. It's located in a plaza with parking on the edge of Sawtelle, so that's convenient. Your first half hour is free with validation with each half hour being $5 thereafter. The space was quite busy when we arrived, but we were able to order at the kiosk and find a table outside. Between 5 people, we ordered two regular size bingsoo (~$11 each). We got to try the Mango and Cereal Milk flavors; both of which were topped with a strawberry. The presentation was so nice and the texture was even better. The ice just melted in your mouth and the flavors were on point. The only thing is that the condensed milk they give you is not as creamy and sweet, which almost seemed like an evaporated milk. Such a great treat on a hot day or after a meal. There's a lot of fun flavors to try and the regular size is enough for 2-3 people. read more

I've never been a fan of shaved ice but this place has shown me that it's only because I've never had Korean shaved ice. This stuff is fantastic. The key is that they aren't shaving straight ice but in fact a creamy block that gives the whole dish a melt in your mouth, milky texture that is both flavorful and delicate. It's great. I've come a few times here since they're located around the corner from my office and I couldn't tell you which flavor is my favorite. The horchata taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch and the fruity pebbles tastes like...well...the breakfasts I grew up eating. The strawberry flavor is also perfectly creamy and sweet. I really don't think you can go wrong. You order yourself on a single screen (I think it would be better if they had a 2nd) and the employees do an amazing job of cranking orders out. Even if they're busy you won't have to wait long for your meal to come out. It really only took a couple bites to realize I am an instant fan of Korean Ice Co. Stopped by for a little sweet treat with my friends right before finals week! The interior was cute with 2 kiosks for ordering, but it's a little small with maybe 2-3 tables and a booth, but there's more seating outside. The staff were also super friendly. We got the Mango Sticky Rice in the smaller size, but there's also a larger size if sharing with more people. Note that they charge an extra $1 for mochi. It was super soft, refreshing, and the fruits were sweet and fresh. The shaved ice is great - it's not just regular shaved ice with syrups and flavors on it that you'd expect from a lot of other bingsu places, they actually have the flavors embedded into the ice and when they shave it down all they do is add a few toppings and that's it! Simple and effective. The melon-ahh is a good remake of the popular Melona bars. If you've had them growing up, you'll definitely feel the nostalgic hit. Service is average - you're ordering off of a menu and then someone calls you to pick up your order. Limited human interaction... that's a bonus for some and a con for others, so take of that what you will. The inside is small. I can't imagine more than two parties fitting inside at a time. They offer both single sizes or larger sizes and they have multiple flavors to pick from. They also have cute merch! Mixed experiences. I've come here twice. The first time, I got the mango, and the second time, strawberry. Mango was much better than strawberry. I liked that they had real mango on the side, and some black sesame -- a wonderful touch! The description says that it comes with a strawberry, but more like a slice of strawberry. The second time, I was really disappointed with the strawberry. The ice was lackluster in flavor, graham cracker adds some crunch and texture, but I think that it needed some fresh strawberries or fruit. It's really (n)ICE to finally get a Korean bingsoo spot in West LA, but unfortunately, Korean Ice Co. is a bit of a miss for me. I was so excited to check this spot out after seeing it all over TikTok and passing by whenever I'm in Sawtelle, but initial impressions were a bit of a letdown considering the hype and long lines for this spot. We ordered the sticky rice mango and melon bingsoo, which were each priced at almost $10 for a single portion. While the prices were comparable to other spots I've had in Ktown, the quality was not - both the strawberries and mangoes were NOT fresh, and tasted like they had been frozen, which is unacceptable for the price point. I personally liked the melon flavor a lot more, especially since it tasted like melona popsicles and was very well infused into the ice, while the mango flavor needed a bit of help from the condensed milk. Overall, this spot holds promise for a bit of improvement in their quality control, but until then, I'd probably still choose to drive to Ktown if I'm craving bingsoo. read more

I was excited to try this place! It wasn't too busy. There was no line to order on the tablet. We received a text once our order was ready. We tried the sticky mango rice shaved ice with a side of mochi. The texture of the shaved ice was excellent and the mango was very sweet and tasty. I think it's misleading to call in mango sticky rice because there's elements lacking represention of the sticky rice or the coconut cream sauce that's normally part of that dessert. It's actually just a mango shaved ice with mango pieces. The sauce that came with it was very runny and didn't add much to the dessert. I also think the mochi was very average tasting; not a lot of flavor and a little on the drier side. To truly be mango sticky rice shaved ice I think it should have come with thicker mochi pieces (instead of an add on) and a thicker coconut cream sauce. I'm interested in trying some of the other flavors though in the future! read more

The strawberry bingsu was my personal favorite as its texture was nothing like I have tried before with multiple layers and not overwhelming. It differed from the mango and milk based one that we tried. The mango is labeled as mango sticky, but there isn't a topping or flavor that really contributes to that, and was also a bit sweet. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch as a topping was enjoyable and unique! They validate for 30 minutes for the parking lot underneath, so if you plan to stay longer I'd recommend parking elsewhere! Sweetcane was originally located here and the effort to elevate the environment is very apparent as it's simple yet clean. I was SO excited to find out a bingsoo shop was opening on the westside. I'm not a fan of froyo, and when Pinkberry first blew up, I was hoping they would eventually lean into the more authentic Korean dessert it was based off of and offer bingsoos. That never happened. So when I spotted the signage on this place, I monitored the opening and had to give it a try. At first I was skeptical when I walked in. The options were limited and when I saw non traditional flavor options, I was even more sure it wouldn't be so great. We got it to go (which is dumb) as it was too busy inside to grab a seat. But to our surprise it traveled well. I would still recommend trying to eat it on site or while walking as it would taste best. I got the red bean one and it was so yummy! For a 10$ bingsu, this is really really disappointing. I got the sticky rice mango bingsu for one person, and it was really bad. The mango chunks were very small and few, and they put black sesame on it that tastes bitter for some reasons. The mango flavor tastes like artificial flavors and the sauce (some sort of sweet milk?) was just average. Not sure why it's called sticky rice mango since I only see option to add mochi as a side for extra but neither is there sticky rice pour nor the texture of it. I couldn't even finish half of it and just throw the whole thing away. I'd rather visit next door for some other type of ice. read more
