I visited Felicitous on a rainy weekday to meet a friend for lunch. Parking was a bit of a struggle as there wasn't much space in front of the lot. However, I decided to park in the shopping mall that is right across from Felicitous. No biggie there. Inside, it was what I expected it to be after having seen some pictures on Yelp. It was quirky in a hippy, tea-loving, nirvana kind of way. There were lots of people inside working on personal computers, homework, reading, etc. It was like a smaller/local version of a certain chain restaurant I know. I ordered a hot Chai latte and caprese panini. My girlfriend ordered the Chai frappe and the cheesus panini. I really enjoyed the Chai latte. It was made with more spices than usual Chai lattes at other coffee shops I have visited. I really like the added spice to my Chai! Very comforting on a rainy day. The caprese panini was okay. I wasn't impressed by it as it didn't offer much flavor. The pesto helped punch up the flavor some but it was still missing something. Maybe some spinach leaves or different type of bread? The panini bread was a bit stale. It was crunchy, which may have been what they were going for but I thought it was a bit on the hard side. My friend's sandwich was also just okay. I think her panini might have been missing some herb action... oregano maybe? Anyway, I was left with more to be desired. Maybe I need to try more of their bevvies as it seems like that's what most people rave about here. I would go back for some hot drinks but probably not for the food. read more

Very impressed with the coffee and sandwiches here. The coffee is Java Planet, which is a local organic coffee that makes every drink just a little bit better than you would expect. My latte was so good that I wished I would've had room for another. The sandwiches very from day to day, but today I had an asiago bagel with cream cheese, tomato and pesto on it, and my wife had a peanut butter, berry and nutella sandwich. It was also supposed to come with banana, but they were apparently out. Since they didn't know that before we ordered and paid, they went ahead and gave us the sandwich for free which was a pleasant surprise. Even without the banana, my wife thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. Mine was also very satisfying, with super fresh cherry tomatoes and a very flavorful pesto. The ambiance of the place is very enjoyable and the staff was a pleasure to interact with. The only thing that knocked a star off from their review is that they seemed to be out of a lot of things. The manager did apologize for this and explained that they've been a lot more popular than they expected since they opened up. Sounds like a good problem to have, and we will certainly be returning to try more of their menu. read more

I loooooooove this cute little cafe for studying and catching up with friends. It's kind of hidden behind the starbucks mall, but I'm so glad I decided to turn in here after I saw the "FREE WIFI" sign. The baristas know their teas very well and I always enjoy a delicious cup of chai latte blend when I'm there. It's also a great cafe to study and people watch when you want to take a break. From art students to med students, you see a great variety of people hanging around and enjoying themselves. The table art and unique decor of the place puts me right at home. read more

Literally in love with this place. Its such a cute little house and the decorations are very vintage. They really do have the BEST iced coffee I've ever had and some seriously delicious paninis! I also tried their belgian waffle.. Uh yum! Super sweet! The prices are pretty similar to Panera, but I guarantee you'll like it 10 times better. The guys that work there are very friendly and really know everything about the menu and what not. They have such a large variety of coffee flavors which I love! Love that anything in North Tampa can be unique. There are not too many independent anythings that are unique. They managed to get a pretty sweet location - close enough to a main road to be found, far enough not to have a view of passing cars, close enough to USF to have high rate of business. The shop's decor is really eclectic. Seating - sufficient both indoors and outdoors, spaced out enough to not make you feel crowded. Staffed with some pretty fashionable people. They have been rained Best Iced Coffee in town- ice cubes are made out of coffee as well. No complaints over my caffeine or caffeine free drinks there thus far. Big enough list of teas to get you something good, small enough not to overwhelm. They would get the full monty (five stars) if they had some better treats. Not everything is made in-house, which is a downer. They do have a nice chocolate selection though. All-in-all... pretty good place. read more

I love finding and supporting good local businesses whenever I can. There is a starbucks right next door, but I'm glad I chose this place instead. The service is good, food is tasty, and the ambience is cozy and casual. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (I sat outside since the weather was cooler for a change). The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the parking lot is waaaay too small and I had to park down the street. Their food menu is also really short, with only a handful of options, none of which were a salad. I ordered the early bird special with kale and apple jam. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, it wouldn't necessarily have been my first choice if there were more options. I'd like to come back and try one of their tea drinks! read more

Felicitous is a stand-alone little house to the left of that plaza, lit up with charming Christmas lights. I took my boyfriend here for his scavenger hunt birthday. This was the final stop so we could pin his new lock onto their Love Lock tree. If you're looking for the tree, it's a tiny tree. Walk around the building to the back and it will be past the patio in this open backyard. Got to try the Floridian latte. The orange and nutmeg in my coffee was a strange concoction that worked so strangely well! I LOVE IT SO! They have other pretty inventive drinks that I would like to go back for. This place is amazing. A unique set up, great variety of drinks, and a super convenient location for USF students. Can't recommend it enough! I've been coming to Felicitous for several years now and I always love every visit. I like that they serve your drink in a mug or glass if it isn't a to-go order. Also, they have a "take one, leave one" bookshelf in the corner of the store which, as an avid reader, I find even more appealing about the store. The baristas are amazing at making drinks and are always very friendly and fast. They have a large and unique drink menu and I like that they offer different types of milk and flavors. I'm always hesitant when coming to a new coffee shop, but this place never dissapoints! The store does fill up fast because it is a smaller location, but also it's a very popular place. I absolutely adore this place. I recently moved to the area and thankfully found a coffee shop that makes amazing espresso, coffee, and tea. Coffee & food: It's all on point. Staff: The baristas are helpful, polite, and friendly. Atmosphere: Quiet, welcoming, and warm. Space: There is ample seating inside and in the back patio. They hold events outside and at night the patio is nicely lit. It's a great spot for studying, coffee breaks, and for those feel them out sort of dates. You know those dates where you don't know if you just want to have coffee and run away as soon as you can and say "hey, at least I had good coffee" or the type of date where you want to sit and chat the night away. Stumbled across this place while looking for parking for Starbucks, amusingly enough, and I am so glad that we did. When we walked in we felt a bit out of place. We are 30 year olds walking into a place that is clearly a common study spot. My boyfriend awkwardly announced that everyone looked so productive and everyone looked up from behind their laptops. My husband said the place smells like hippy (takes one to smell one). My husband got the frappe and it blew Starbucks frap out of the water, but was smaller. My bf got a waffle, a special of theirs. It came in a cup topped with peanut butter, jelly, whipped cream and peanut butter chips. They have other kinds of course but why would they need any? It was delicious. I was boring and got tea. Although nothing is boring about their tea selection. They have them in tins so you can smell them all. And I about drove my boys nuts while I systematically smelled every last one of them, settling finally on simply an iced chai. They said it tastes like apple pie tea. It's a small old home converted into a coffee tea house that serves sandwiches and some baked goods! Very homey with couches and decor all miss matched. They had a desk with a shelf next to it near the bathroom with lots of board games! Not much area inside to sit. I ordered a caramel frapp without whipped creme. It came in a large glass. This was my first time at Felicitous. It's my boyfriend's favorite little coffee shop here in Tampa and he was dying to take me there. It did not disappoint. We went on a Sunday around noon and had a lovely time in the quaint space, each enjoying their Boy Genius Panini (turkey, provolone, mayo, sun-dried tomatoes), and him having the Pistachio Frappe and me the Fit Frappe (Espresso, Chai, Chocolate - 20g protein, 19 vitamins and minerals, less than 2g sugar, only 130 calories). Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere was perfect for a lazy, Sunday afternoon. They have events like open mike nights and improve - both of which I can't wait to return for. A funky, hip ambience does not a good coffee shop/sandwich shop make. The cheese bread panini (a TINY bit of cheese on a small amount of Cuban bread) was neither cheesy nor tasty nor worth the price. All I tasted was crusty bread; it needed at least 2x, maybe 3x the cheese in order to make it obvious what I was eating. The chocolate PB frappe was ok, but kinda expensive and lacking PB flavor. One of my favorite places to get coffee and to meet up with friends. I always get the mississippi mud, which the best way to describe it is a s'mores coffee. It's a generous amount and its not overly sweet which can be challenging for speciality, flavored coffee drinks. I've tried various of sandwiches there, and have yet to find one that I didn't love. My only complaint is how small and crammed it is there, and the past few times I've been there, it was ridiculously hot. They had a few tabletop fans but it didn't help with how hot and muggy it was in there. Hot coffee in a hot environment, not exactly preferred. read more
