    Poke nachos

Great food! I think this is the first of few food trucks where I said "the food is delicious and great price!" I have Fire and Rice on my to try list for awhile so very happy we got to try it. The food was really good. I got the poke nachos and it's made with the wonton chips. Super crispy but well balanced with the poke and dressing. The service is good as well and they are super friendly people. Will definitely be back for more food here!

    Tuna BOMB and musubi

TLDR: REALLY Awesome Musubi! Great Tuna Bombs too! Came to Morgan Hill for their first annual Open Streets!, the second week of May. Actually came to support my sis who had a booth there. Well, I was hungry, and while we were walking around, we came to this lunch truck. I'll be honest... we came to try it because of the name. LOVE the pun! I love a good food truck pun! It was around lunch time, but we had a big brunch already, so we wanted something light. So we ordered 2 Musubis for $9 ($1 off) and the Tuna Bomb, because my wife thought it sounded interesting. First, the Tuna bomb... it's Tuna poke with some rice, inside the shell of that Japanese Tofu. Kinda like a taco. Got some drizzle on top as well. It was a bit messy to eat with our hands, but it was Da BOMB as the kids used to say... Ahem. yeah we enjoyed that a lot. The fish was fresh, and it had a very bright refreshing taste. Kinda perfect for such a hot day. Now the Musubi. I've had many a musubi in Hawaii. This rivals all the best ones. The spam was seared so well. A bit stiff outside, which is the way I like it. And the sauce on the rice, puts it over the edge. It DEFINITELY beats out the ones from L&L, THAT'S for sho! The guy was really patient with us, very friendly. He made us feel right at home, and didn't rush us or anything. If we come back to Morgan Hill, we'll DEFINTELY make room for the musubi. And maybe even try some of their other tasty offerings.

    Already dug in...lol!

We had the truck outside of the office today. Made sure to get out there at 11 when they got there as I knew there would be a line if I didn't. Good call too, only 2 ppl in line when we got there. After I ordered I looked back at the line and there were st least 12 people whom showed up out of nowhere. I was going to order the poke bowl but decided on the chicken bowl instead because I knew I had a long day today. Glad I did. They served me a chicken thigh and a half, kimchee slaw and 2 scoops of rice. The chicken was well seasoned. Crispy. Garlicky. Juicy. Shoyu-y...lol! Delicious. Kimchee slaw was the perfect pair to the chicken. I also purchased a Hawaiian Sun because they had my fave flavor: Lilikoi Lychee! Also picked up 2 spam musubi..1 for dinner and 1 for my boss. This truck is legit. I hope they come back, I'd like to try their poke bowl next! Don't forget to tip people!!!!! They accept all major credit cards, apple/Google pay and also Venmo and Zelle.

I tried this food truck the other day and was so excited because I love Asian cuisine. The lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. I waited about 10 minutes for my meal and ordered the K-pop garlic chicken with lava sauce on the side. The K-Pop chicken was fried chicken in sauce over white rice with green onions. It was very delicious and I would love to get it again with all lava sauce or even try something new on the menu. I passed this food truck and was intrigued by there menu

Pricey. My bf paid $12 for a small boat of garlic fries chicken and $7 for a small boat of over fried tater tots. This foot truck was located right outside Hapa's Brewing when we visited and did the job for a quick bite as it was the only option to order food from when we visited on a Friday afternoon. Will not return.

Try this food truck at the Phillipine independent festival by Flea Market - The line was very long, over 30 min wait but the food is not worth it. The chicken was soft and a bit too sweet... and the after taste is yucky..like the meat was not fresh. The musubi is so good.. it could have been better if the rice is not soggy Over all not worth it

Two words: Garlic. Chicken. It was so flavorful, cooked and fried just right, and probably once of the best I've tried in a while -- and it was from a truck! I definitely heard of this truck before, but never pursued them. I found 'em at the Flea and I'm so glad for it! Definitely recommend trying the chicken, and I don't doubt that the rest of the menu pleases as well!

So I'm a little bit confused why there are pictures of onigiri all over this truck when they don't even sell it. It was a bit misleading. But nevertheless, the food was still very good. I ordered the Kahlua pig tots and they were so tasty and delicious and plentiful. I could only eat half, so I saved the rest for another day. Pop them in the air fryer and a crisp back up. Nevertheless, I was expecting to order onigiri. I think if this place wasn't so misleading I would definitely give them five stars because the food was good. But they honestly should reconsider their logos.

Fire and Rice is my jam!! I'm always on the hunt for a good food truck and especially one that does Hawaiian. I feel like Hawaiian Food trucks are so hard to come by in the Bay Area. I came across this food truck via Yelp and what really caught my eye was their unique take on musubis and the garlic fried chicken. They offer a nice variety of items such as deconstructed musubis, poke tots, kalua tots, K-pop chicken, rice bowls, poke bowls and a few sides. I love that they offer so much and it's different than your average Hawaiian food spot, they put a twist on everything and I love it. My absolute favorite dish here is the Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl, it so decadent and amazing. It's a crispy fried chicken thigh dipped in their shoyu sauce and served over steamed rice and a side of kimchi slaw. The garlic fried chicken is very garlicky and I love it. The chicken thigh is very thick and meaty, always cooked to perfection and moist. I love to dip it in their house side which tastes like a spicy aioli. This truck is quite hard to come by as they are only out a couple of days during the week (unless the have private events) in either SJ, Mountain View or Morgan Hill as well as the weekends. So if you ever see their truck please make sure to stop by, you won't be disappointed!

Surf and turf spam musubi, garlic chicken with egg, pulled pork tots
    Allyson R.

I paid by card. I happened to see them parked near a farmer's market and it smelled really good, so I decided to give them a try. They were Covid ready with employees wearing masks and customers required to wear masks. I ordered the pulled pork tots, garlic chicken, and surf and turf spam musubi. The garlic chicken and surf and turf spam musubi were delicious!!!! I think the garlic chicken would be amazing if it were spicy. I will probably ask if they could make it spicy next time. The pulled pork was ok, a little on the dry side, but the tater tots underneath it were good. I would recommend this place and would go back to try other items.

I had been craving a musubi for a while now and came across this food truck on Yelp while looking for the best ones around. After a few months of following them on Instagram and hoping they would be in my city, I decided I was tired of waiting and went out to Morgan Hill to finally check them out. It was definitely worth the trip out there! The food was great, served up quickly, and was a reasonable price. The surf and turf musubi was awesome! Loved the flavor of the sauce on the shrimp. Chicken was also good, had a lot of flavor. Would've like to try the chicken as a musubi too, it was listed on their website but they didn't have it the day of. Also loved that the musubi had egg!! In my opinion, no musubi is complete without egg.

Finally made it a point to catch them this past Saturday! They park on Depot street between Main and 1st Streets, parked in front of the Bike Therapy shop. There's tables setup between Bike Therapy and the Running Shop & Hops (beer place). You can grab a cold beer and enjoy with your poke! We loved all the items we got! The fried chicken was tender and juicy and crunchy and sticky just like how Korean fried chicken usually is. The poke was well cut and the flavors were awesome. Right amount of spice. They also have Hawaiian Sun drinks which hit the spot on a 100 degree day. We can't wait to go back! Next time we look forward to trying the kalua pork tots! Mmmm If you're missing Hawai'i, get your fix at Fire & Rice food truck!

yummy! I The spam masubi was absolutely fire and 10/10 I would order again. I also got the kahlua pig bowl and it was tasty, however it was a little too much for me food-wise. I would prefer if they could offer two sizes for the bowls, one a little smaller (maybe 25% smaller) for a slightly lower price.

Shaka Chicken was nice as well as the Steak Chicarones. Service: 2/10 Hostess and Waitress was 10/10, live music was good. . . until it wasn't. I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday as a family member recommended it and loved coming here on night outs. It started out as an amazing lunch, my family gave some money to my little brother to give to the singers and request a song. In response, the singers called out my family as irresponsible for sending a child up to request. My family and I took this as a joke at first, until the singers called brought it up again, then it didn't feel like a joke anymore. Then, he began to target my family and I's table for the fact we are Filipino and "jokingly" cussed at us in our language. Between the first joke to cussing us out, we didn't make any remarks or comments, we were eating enjoying our time and eating together. When one of my family members spoke up to let them know it was beginning to feel offensive as the singers were not joking around with other tables. We were told that "it's just Hawaiian culture to tease." over and over again. This kept going back and forth. Does that seem right? Just because of your culture you have a right to tease about mine and use our language to cuss us out? I don't have a right to defend my culture especially after those comments? To the business owner, this interaction included my family, the singer, and a lady who seems to be a regular there; note that this happened on Sunday May 24 between 12pm - 1:30pm. It's acknowledged that there is alcohol involved in all parties but there's a very fine line between joking and just being plain mean, especially when you're full blast on a mic. When we were outside the restaurant and a nice Filipino waitress came to check on us, the same lady who was arguing with my family came back out to shout some more. In all of the span of 20 minutes, not a single staff or owner interjected. Mind you this interaction occurred in public with many families and children watching. Is this the representation you'd like to show for your restaurant? It's AAPI month for god sakes! I came here to celebrate my birthday, my community, and to connect with others, and this is what I receive?? I'm sure if it had gone a different way, my family and I would have had a good time, and we were until it got way too far.

Interestingly enough the beef was the kind of beef in beef and broccoli, marinated and tenderized with corn starch, instead of the typical Hawaiian bbq beef slices. There was a deceptive amount of meat in this, it's definitely a solid portion. I almost wish there were more potatoes lol. The curry itself was just ok. The plate comes with 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of Mac salad for $18. Midly justified. I wish they had a combo curry and or bbq mix curry and not just beef. I miss wikiwiki's hamburg steak curry. The service was solid, with a kind young man ringing me up. I wish the menus were more descriptive, it's low key hard to order here, reminiscent of hood Chinese spots. The ambiance is typical of a Hawaiian spot. Interestingly enough a health inspector came to visit while I was eating, it seems everything went well, so the venue is good to go. Looking back, I'd come back if I was in the area and craving Hawaiian curry for the nostalgia. But low key if prolly rather have poke house across the street.
