Fire Bowl Café has been a long time favorite for me, but the experience I had last night at their Lakeline Grove location was unacceptable. My boyfriend and I were waiting in line the order, the family in front of us finished ordering and we stepped up to have our order take. The manager was taking orders and walked away and went in the back somewhere. We had clearly been waiting and I don't understand why he would do this. After a few minutes he came back, but with no acknowledgement of how rude he had been. We gave him our order and he repeated it back as we ordered. I misspoke on ordering egg rolls instead of their spring rolls(they have the best spring rolls), and he repeated it back to me. I saw them on the screen still so I mentioned it again to which he said okay with some attitude. Upon bringing our spring rolls out this sweet young lady bringing us our food also brought us egg rolls. She said they had been on the order, apologized, and quickly took them back and fixed our receipt. Then our entrees came out and one of the entrees was missing. The manager had taken our order so I figured she just didn't have enough hands to carry everything. Come to find out, the manager actually just didn't put it on our order. The manager came out with our food, shot me a dirty look, and set the food down WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. Not an apology or even a "here you go folks". I am not sure if he was having a bad day or if having young managers that treat customers like crap is the new standard, but I don't think having a rude attitude with a customer is ever acceptable. I worked in the restaurant industry and have met some really mean people, and I don't see how two people politely asking for the food they ordered warrants this kind of behavior. Ordered 4 items to go but they didn't put any names on it. How is one supposed to know whose food is which when you order similar noodles? I told different spice level for all the stuff I ordered but that didn't make any difference. All the food items had same spice level. The summer rolls had no basil in them; just the rice noodles and once piece of tofu. I would not recommend this place to anybody. No wonder the restaurant was empty on weekend evening. read more

I love how convenient this location is to home, but the food tends to be a little too salty and the chicken, which I always order, is always over cooked. The very first time I went, right after they opened, I had the Best bowl I'd ever had at a Fire Bowl. The chicken was tender and the sauce was just right. They need to work on these things to get up for the 5 stars i would give their Arboretum and Brodie locations. read more

It's a good new place to try. Corteous and friendly staff. Orders are done and served pretty fast. Taste of food is okay, not bad. Our kids love it. One thing though is the noise or the acoustics of the place. It gets loud including the noise in the kitchen. Overall, its a good new place to try in the neighborhood. I wasn't sure what to expect from Firebowl Cafe, but was pleasantly surprised by the fast service. I had the vegetable egg rolls, which arrived at the table hot and crispy. The crab rangoons were crispy and hot, but the filling average taste. The Firebowl Fried Rice with chicken was good. It had tons of chicken. I actually would have preferred more vegetables and less chicken, but the flavor was pleasant. The food was not spicy, in fact, it could have used a little more flavor in general. But, it wasn't bad and was fine in terms of fast comfort food. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and modern. read more

I came this is after eating one piece of beef to the cashier and asked for some recomendations. He would recommend anything and acted kinda confused. Then I ordered the Beef Coconut curry. The dish was 90% noodles, 7% vegetables, and 3% meat (rough estimate). I really expected more meat. I found myself digging through the bowl trying to find it and had little luck. The coconut Curry sauce was tasty so I decided to go with a 3 rather than a 2 star. read more

Food was great, but I had an allergic reaction to cross contamination with peanut sauce. When I brought it up to ask if it could be remade, since I couldn't eat anymore, he denied the possibility and told me "all of his equipment is clean". I am really pleased that Fire Bowl Cafe has opened a location near Lakeline Mall. My husband and I have gone to eat there five times since it opened. I think that the management at this location is doing a great job getting the food out quickly and hot. I feel like I have a shorter wait time for my food than at the Arboretum Location. I think the portions are generous. I am glad that management took steps to put plants out blocking a side entrance because the concrete is not level and several people had tripped including my boss when we went to eat there for lunch. read more

The steak was expired had a foul smell and taste, i manage a steakhouse so I know what old steaks look and smell like, we throw away our expired product. not disguised in heavy marinade I'm so disappointed for a new concept to the area to start off so bad!!! Ok I admit the first month they opened was horrible. Made our food wrong and even when it was right it was bad. But since they've worked out the kinks and settled in, this place is as good as their other locations. The service here is always great as well. I have always liked Firebowl. Love their salads and coconut soup for myself and usually like what my friends get. Food is great. I have loved the new location as it is closer to where I live. I recall a visit when they first opened. I ordered the coconut soup and a salad. I was full from the soup and asked for a to go box as the salad in no way would fit in the paper to go boxes provided on self serve counter. I was given a small container. Firebowl salads are huge and in no way would it fit into the small container. I expressed this and was handed another small container and was told it was what they had. I knew they had takeout and a company also delivered their food. I asked if they used two containers for takeout/delivery. I was then told that they had a large topped container for those instances. By this time I had already separated my salad into the two smaller containers. This interaction seemed odd to me. Fast forward to my visit yesterday. We ordered, got our drinks and sat down. My 10 year old accidentally knocked her drink off the table. We quickly picked it up however it did create a puddle of soda. I quickly alerted an employee who seems to be one who expedites and/or runs the food. She said she wouldn't be able to attend to it at the time. Next to our table was a larger table that would seat about six or so people. There were no longer any customers there so I grabbed all the napkins I saw on the table to lay on the puddle to help absorb the puddle as a means to deter any accidents. My daughter had picked up some napkins from the self serve area and brought them back over and I was laying them down as well when the woman I had already told about the spill came over and asked me to let them take care of it so I wouldn't use up all of their napkins so I left it alone. While we ate our meal we observed that all tables were being cleared but instead of carrying dishes back to the kitchen they were being piled on the table next to us. I also saw the woman I spoke with and one other employee standing and talking rather than grabbing a mop for the spill. I believe someone carried one load away from the table yet continued to see them stacked up in the same table. A mother and two children were leaving with their takeout when the young child dropped her drink in the walkway in front of ordering station/register. The woman I had spoken to continued to stand and talk to other employee looking over at the incident and shook her head while the mother also got napkins from self serve area and cleaned it up with her child. I commented to my friend about the observations and how I felt the Arboretum location was managed in a much better service oriented way. Perhaps someone was unable to make it into work that day leaving them short staffed however I didn't seem any sense of urgency during any downtime in between customers. I have worked in a service oriented business and if there was a spill it was cleaned immediately to prevent any further possible accidents, most of the time replacing the spilt item. Also when we were short staffed some of us may have covered two tasks and were surely busy catching up between customers. The last thing we would be able to do is stand around and talk when something needed to be done. We left and the spill still hadn't been cleaned up. read more

The quality of the food is excellent. We love the ability to customize our dishes by adding extra protein/ veggies, and choose the level of spiciness and sauces. My food was mediocre at best. I ordered the chicken lo mein wok toss and it was swimming in sauce. In fact, I poured the sauce into a separate bowl so my food would not be in it, and the sauce was enough to be soup. We also ordered the pad thai with tofu which had way too many peanuts and the tofu was soggy. I will not be visiting there again and I hope they re staff that place. read more

We absolutely love Firebowl and could not wait to try the new restaurant which is so close to our home !! It was Friday night and I had worked an 11 hour day. I wanted to go someplace for dinner and relax. Pulling up to park, we commented on the beautiful lighting fixtures inside, which created an appearance of warmth and relaxing ambiance. Upon entering, we were greeted by a very nice young man. He tried to welcome us and explain the new menu but the acoustics are so horrible in this restaurant that we could not understand a single word he was saying! Not only that, but between the music, banging, grating and clanging noises coming from the kitchen, I thought we were going to have to leave before our food was served. Customers pushing metal chairs across the floors and into the tables did not help with the noise. Our stirfry came and was floating in a bowl of liquid teriyaki. They were kind enough to take it back and remake our order and agreed it looked like soup. The food was pretty good but I will never go back and eat inside. They really need to find a way to re-think the acoustical nature of the interior. Don't go here if you're looking for a relaxing place to eat in and dine. It's more like a high school cafeteria!!!
