Portions here are HUGE! We shared a Surf and Turf plate and a Tilapia plate with coconut rice. I was pretty surprised with the generous portions, so if you're not very hungry, opt for the bowls instead. The beef was a little tough and the shrimp was on the salty side, but the tilapia and coconut rice were amazing! Especially that coconut rice! It was super fragrant with the creamy tropical goodness of coconut and had sauteed onions mixed in. Definitely recommend getting the coconut rice if you're a fan of coconut. read more

This restaurant got a special place in my heart... whenever I come to visit family in the lancaster/palmdale area, I have to stop here and boom boom chicken. Ive been coming here with my wife since they opened their doors I love this place great atmosphere great music and most of all great FOOD! it never dissapoints exept... the poke.... i was excited to try it but it fell a little short It only come with any rice you want carrots cucumber and tuna with panzu sauce thats it Good flavor but i think they need to step up their poke game a bit more since the other competition for the same price i can get more on a poke bowl and still good Other then that everything else is just amazing read more

Friendly staff. The place was empty. We were the only dine in customers. I order the grill chicken Caesar salad and my date got the pineapple steak sandwich or burger whatever it was. The soda fountain was a little messy. Ice all over the bottom area and crud in the crevices. The food was alright. Nothing to rave about. This place was very good, but from the reviews I read I expected awesome. The food was good and fresh the sauces were tasty, my husband had the fire island teriyaki and I had the peanut lava. I chose the shrimp bowl and he had the steak and chicken platter. I would recommend this place as the food was good, quick, fresh, but it wasn't something I would go out of my way for. This place is great! First off the portions are unreal. I usually get the island rice and the Big Kahuna platter for 11.99 and it's basically 2-3 meals depending on how hungry you are. The Mac salad that comes with the platter is bomb and overall I haven't had one bad experience in about 5-10 visits. Well here we go! So my son really wanted to get food from here so his girlfriend could try it as she has never been. So I obliged and drive them from Canyon Country (about 40 minutes) to order take out. When I went to pay I clearly let them know that I had ordered 3 steak bowls and 1 combo bowl. Not 2 steak, 1 chicken and 1 combo. So they said okay no problem we will fix it. Then they hand me my order tied up ready to go in a plastic bag. Well I decided to check before I left and no they did not fix it they essentially just threw some steak in the one that was incorrect. Well of course I had to say something and apparently they did not appreciate that. With an attitude I was told to just give them the whole order and they would make it again. Nope! Not going to give anyone the chance to do something to my food because they are upset that I brought it to their attention. I do enjoy their food but in these trying times they should be happy to have the business instead of insuring that this customer will absolutely never make that drive again Don't tell someone you are going to fix it and then really just hide the issue hoping the customer will be far enough away that you don't have to be confronted about it! read more

Please fire Julie. She is the worst Karen 2.0 for absolutely no reason at all. When I came in the other day I was picking up food for myself and coworkers. The young girl in front of me was ordering first and Julie was taking her order. Julie was being so rude to the young girl just for asking for extra dressing bc she forgot to put it in as requested. Julie was like "we already gave you extra dressing" which was just the one dressing that usually comes with the salad so she was like no this is not extra, Julie then gives the young girl a hard time like Julie's whole life is falling apart bc she has to add an extra dressing as was requested beforehand. Julie then is like oh you have to pay for that $5 for 1 extra dressing. I was like what a loser to do that to someone. The girl was just in a rush and didn't have time to play petty arguments with Julie. We're literally just here to get food. No body has the time of day for Julie's petty attitude. After, she proceeded with my order with her disgustingly ugly rude attitude. I told her stop being rude to customers like you don't even know me nor know the girl before me to even be unnecessarily rude to us. She didn't say anything. I asked for napkins and she said "oh that's an extra charge" I was like "no way, you can't charge for napkins, I only need like 5 napkins" she wouldn't take a no for an answer so I was like fine I'll get napkins from the Buffalo Wild Wings next door. As I walked away she goes "yes walk away ****" I was like this is absolutely ridiculous! My husband and I were just absolutely floored how rude this older lady was being & for absolutely no reason. Like lady, if your life sucks that much, go to therapy. I will never come to this fire island ever again, along with that young girl who ordered before me. She drove 2 other customers sitting down away too, as they overheard everything and literally packed up and left saying they won't be coming back ever again either. I don't know what is that older woman Julie's problem but she needs to be fired immediately. I refuse to come here ever again just bc of her nasty attitude alone. It's pathetic. Excellent. Service was VERY friendly and helpful and employees were knowledgeable about the sauces, rice options, etc., and helped narrow my choices. I had never had this place before today- I'm sold! I had a delicious steak and chicken white rice bowl with black beans and sautéed veggies. So tasty down to the last bite! Most places with similar dishes have either had too much rice, or too little meat, but Fire Island serves the perfect portion of everything. The food was also very well cooked.
