I've visited Firehouse Subs on multiple occasions and I usually have great things to say about it which is why I'm leaving 3 stars. However this last visit wasn't the best one. My cousin and mom had no issues with their subs, but mine was messed up :( To start off, I got the Engineer with No Onion. The main part of that sandwich is the mushrooms. There was not a single mushroom on my sandwich. Which was really disappointing since the mushrooms were the deciding factor for me. To make it worse, there was a small piece of plastic found in my lettuce :/ maybe from the bag it came in, idk. Again, this place is usually pretty good but this time wasn't. These aren't cheap sandwiches so you'd hope to get what you ordered....and no miscellaneous pieces in your sandwich. I would have taken my sandwich back, but my mom had picked it up and brought it over. I live about 20 minutes from the restaurant and was just too hungry at that point. Better luck next time I guess. read more

Went here to pickup an order but the man in charge was really rude, provided terrible customer service and there was no music playing which made the ambience quiet and awkward. Judging by the employees attitude and tone towards the person in charge, it seems they were very displeased with the their mannerisms as well.The employees themselves were very nice to customers though. read more

I reviewed the Orange location on accident at first. Oooops. Suuuper nice service and good eats. I've been impatiently waiting for the location in La Verne to open up, so I lunged at the chance to try this location. I hadn't been in the Anaheim area for some time, so it was a lucky finding. I got the meatball sub and got a free large drink for downloading the app. I must say their program is a little bit more stingy than Jersey Mike's, but it's nice they have a program in general. read more

Firehouse subs. This place is my go to when I'm craving a sandwich/sub. It was my 1st time visiting this location and the staff were really friendly! Without knowing that I'm a semi regular, patiently explained what I could add to my sub which was really nice that they took the time to explain it all. My husband picked up 2 Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches for us. The bread was dry, meat was disgusting, no cheese, no flavor and did not taste fresh at all. On top of the overpriced sandwiches being horrible, their customer service was even worse. We called to let them know about how unhappy we were about the food and the response we got was "that's how we make them and if you don't like the way we make then you don't have to come back"! I'm my opinion that is really poor customer service and yes we will never go back. We weren't asking for a refund or anything, but he did not even want to hear what we had to say. The right way to handle it would've been to maybe say - so sorry to hear that and ask what they could do to make sure we give them another try. Just saying. Just got back from a great Grand Opening here... they open to the public tomorrow. There were a lot of customers in line for the Grand Opening today, but they got everyone in and out fast. My favorite, the Steamer sandwich, was hot and tasty just the way I was hoping. If you know Firehouse, you know they are consistently good. The owners seem very nice and very hard working. The store looks great, and I especially loved the huge painting of the fire truck with the Disney fireworks in the background! This restaurant is in a new building in a row of new eating places about to open soon. This is all next to the big new Rite Aid. Everything is so clean and beautiful here. I'm so glad to see this great sandwich shop in my neighborhood! read more

Firehouse Subs has been around for years back east and only until recently have they come to the West coast. This Firehouse subs location is the latest addition to the firehouse family. This new store is family owned and operated and committed to meet the highest standards of Firehouse. As for the the sandwiches, they are a cut above the everyday selections you're probably used to. These sandwiches are steamed and served up warm and delicious every time! It's nice to know that there's a sandwich out there thats so much better than the rest. We happened to order the Smokehouse Beef and cheddar brisket and also the Engineer. They both were absolutely delicious. When I'm in this area again, I'll definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Enjoy! read more

This place so far, is amazing! I tried the meatball sandwich because a great review. OMG, that's all I have ordered. The bread is great and so far each sandwich has been the boom. Great sandwiches, and almost great service. The cashier appeared to be unfamiliar with the locations of items to either make changes, or add things to my sandwich on the computer screen. I placed and order and needed to cancel . I called right away and they were totally fine with canceling my order, but my only way to get a refund is to call my bank and make a dispute. I positively LUV this place !!! I always order the same roast beef and provolone with extra cheese, no deli mustard, add vinegar & oil, and salt & pepper. And we always go to the same location. It's always AMAZING !! But tonight we went there and my sandwich was horrible ! I was so disappointed when I got it home after waiting for it all day. The bread was dry and old tasting, the lettuce was sour and old, and there wasn't the same amount of meat like there usually is and I didn't see any extra provolone. First time going to any Firehouse Subs! The decoration/theme of the shop is all Firefighter related! I had no idea since it was my first time going. It was very neat to see the check for donations and the terminology they use ;) I had a GREAT experience. I let them know it was my first time and the store manager let me know that they were experts in hot sandwiches (but if anyone requests cold subs they also will do it) I was told it's basically building my own sub. I ordered the small hook & ladder and upgraded to a combo for $2.69 more. I also had the option of rounding up my order total to donate, which is nice since I can do it off of my card :) The sandwiches are REALLY good! Hook & Ladder is definitely something I'll be ordering again! At the end the store manager check in with us and asked how everything tasted. She definitely has outstanding customer service! She had also asked if the staff had let me know about their App! (Which they hadn't) she explained that for every penny you spend you get points! We had just thrown away our receipts and she even printed us new ones so we could download the app! I am looking forward to coming back soon! read more

Oh my gosh, their subs are delicious!!! Like many of my recent reviews, I tried this place for the 1st time this month, because they'll give you a free sub for your birthday. I wish there were more locations because I will absolutely go back! I'd say this chain is more like Jersey Mike's than Subway, as far as the size and type of subs on offer. My regular size sub was about 8 inches long, the bread was fresh and had an upscale deli feel, and the portion of veggies and toppings was very generous. I'm a vegetarian, and initially I didn't think they had anything for me, because there isn't a veggie sub on the menu. But, they do make one, and it's packed full of grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, and any toppings you want. I went with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. And it comes with a pickle spear, which was a fun surprise that made it feel even less like fast food. I was impressed with the food, but also the friendly service and clean restaurant. Also impressive is the fact that this chain was created by firemen to help firemen. A portion of every purchase is donated to a local firehouse or a fire department related charity. So, not only do you get to enjoy a huge, delicious, deli quality sub, you get to help a good cause at the same time. I highly recommend trying them! read more

This place is complete trash and not COVID friendly. Yes they will force you to wear a mask when you walk in and yell at you to put back on because mine got lose and fell off. The problem with this location is not the food but the management. The main guy there is pretty rude and when I wanted a custom order he said only what is on the menu. All I wanted was a combination of turkey and roast beef which is on their menu if you just removed one item. He said he would accomodate me and instead gave me a turkey with mushrooms. I understand this is a difficult business, but I can go to Jersey Mike's or Portos or Potillos or a bunch of other places and get better service and attitude. This was my first time here. This will also be the last time I am here. Bottom line. For 9 dollars I can get a better sandwich at Jersey's Mike with discounts sometimes. And I have more choices of spread which includes true add ons that nearly all sandwich places have. read more

Came here for first time tonight expecting a great sub. What a major disappointment! We will most definitely NOT return. I gave it 2 stars generously since it was near closing time. Ordered the roast beef, two of them. It was easily the worst roast beef I've ever eaten. It was disgustingly salty, overly processed, paper-thin sliced deli meat that was more like ham, no roast beef taste! The sub, we prefer cold not toasted, was so dry all you could taste was the wheat bread. The mayo/mustard was so sparsely applied you could barely see it on the bread. For starters the simple instructions to please wrap each half of the large subs separately was acknowledged then ignored. The order taker was not the sub maker and obviously not listening to much of anything being said. Even at the pickup end of purchase he called our order and I answered he called it again then he saw me and said oh you're here. Pros it was close to home and clean. Period. Cons the hiding from customer's view of the food items/prep station is biggest turn off. Had I been able to see what they call roast beef I would have left before ordering! [I can buy Carl Buddig meats at market thank you.] Bread is tough. Could not even taste the provolone cheese as it was overpowered by the salty meat. Barely able to taste the lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, etc. Hubby had to go back in to ask for wrappers to wrap the cut halves as had been requested at ordering. No problem with getting those. Then I had to sit at outside table and unload our meal to wrap it before we could even start to eat it. Outside in unsanitary conditions, looks of tabletops can be deceiving. So unnecessary! I'm reporting this to FirehouseListens.com will see if they respond and what kind of response. Not holding my breath. What was to be a nice evening was not. I have made multiple visits to this location since opened awhile back. I have not been disappointed in the food or the service. I usually use their On-Line App to order and then swing by to pick up my sandwich. The App is very efficient, just like the staff is. I have never had to wait more than a minute or so before my order is ready. The staff has always been friendly and very efficient. The Firehouse Subs are some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. I used a coupon for a free sandwich with purchase. For free, the sandwich was good. Had I paid $9, I would have been a little disappointed. After ordering inside, they have you wait outside so it doesn't get too crowded. Everyone working was friendly. I tried the New York steamer which was corned beef, pastrami and cheese. They also put mustard, mayo and Italian dressing on it. Being from New York, I find that weird and only got mustard. The best part was the bread. It was flavorful and crunchy but soft inside. The meats tasted like cheap deli meat from the supermarket. Overall it tasted fine but I felt like I could make a better sandwich at home if I went shopping for a baguette and meats. I also had the brownie which was rich and soft. It was just how I like them. Decent food if you are out and hungry. But otherwise a bit expensive for what it is. read more

Great sandwiches and the sauces paired with the meats makes them tastes even better. The sandwiches do not tastes dry and the bread is perfectly toasted (not hard and brittle). They offer many varieties of sides that can be added to the sandwich for an extra charge. I love how they always ask "is this your first time" it makes us feel welcome and they follow it with "we can explain our sandwiches" - great customer service! There is an older lady who works there lunch time and she is the sweetest, always smiling and asking if we liked our sandwiches.
