A great experience! I got tuna on wheat "fully involved." Who knew deli mustard is good on a tuna salad sandwich? Very high quality ingredients. Our company ordered FireHouse Subs today. I ordered the large tuna sandwich on wheat bread. The portion size of the large is truly a lot of food. The only criticism I would make is that a sweet relish was added to the tuna salad mix. Can we have the option of having a salty relish rather than sweet? It really threw off the flavor. Needed to shop at Ikea and felt like a sandwich so I used yelp app to find someplace new to try. Firehouse subs sounded interesting enough so my wife and I headed on over. The company was founded by firemen and part of the proceeds is donated to first responders. According to their website the donations go towards life saving equipment, prevention education, scholarships, support for members of the military, and disaster preparedness/relief. When you go to pay you can round up your bill to the dollar and the change will go to the charity. The menu here is very confusing since every sandwich has a quirky name like "hook & ladder" and "New York Steamer" for example. This forces you to read this very long sign which describes each sandwich. I can see this being a pain during lunch rush time. I went with the New York Steamer which is corned beef, pastrami, provolone, mustard, mayo, and Italian dressing. I then added other topping such as tomato, lettuce, banana peppers, etc. I thought my sandwich was very tasty and I could actually taste each ingredient. Each tasted high quality and none of it was lost in the sandwich. I definitely recommend. My wife went with the Italian which had genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, provolone, and Italian dressing. Unlike me she didn't care for her sandwich. She said it was boring and none of the ingredients had enough flavor to stand out. I compare this place to Jimmy John's as far as taste and bread type but a lot cheaper. Prices were very reasonable and you can save $2 with yelp check-in. read more

My family loves the sub sandwiches from Firehouse. The Turkey Bacon Ranch is one of our favorites even for my picky 8 year old. The sub sandwiches are individually packaged in cartons when getting sandwiches to go and labeled so that you know which sandwich is which. The inside is clean and I love the firehouse theme with pictures and of fire engines and firefighters on the walls. The store has red decor with fun black and white spotted tables and red chairs. Tonight we ordered two of our favorites Turkey Bacon Ranch and two meatball subs. It wasn't busy, but I think we beat the crowd. The server was nice and was patient as we told her our order. Compared to other sandwich shops the wait for sandwiches to be made is a bit longer, however it's totally worth the wait. read more

I placed an order via Grubhub! My ordered was apparently STOLEN by the wrong Grubhub driver so FIREHOUSE SUBS CANCELLED MY ORDER. Apparently this location doesn't care about customer service cause if they did they would have REMADE MY ORDER AND HAD IT DELIVERED! Lesson learned about Firehouse Subs AND Grubhub. I went there because T-Mobile had a promotion for a free sandwich with any purchase. The food and service were so bad. They didn't ask me if I want my bread cold or hot. They gave me a cold one instead of hot by default and I had to ask for a kid milk bottle which was supposed to come with a kid meal combo...and the firehouse hat was MIA. Stopped by last week to try Firehouse Subs for the first time and left a tad bit disappointed. I had heard the subs from here were good and I just didn't see it, taste it, or feel it. For starters the mushrooms if you can tell from the appearance in the pic I have provided definitely don't look nor did they taste "sautéed" instead they tasted like canned mushrooms so I removed them. I had asked for cucumbers in my sub since I enjoy a little crunch and there were no cucumbers. I understand if you're busy but there was only one person ahead of my order and no one was waiting in line after me. The workers there seemed more engaged with their conversations rather than working and it definitely reflected in my sub. No attention to detail whatsoever. When I opened it up everything looked like it was coming out, it wasn't even wrapped. I was going to give 1 star, but I gave a 2 because at least it wasn't a bad tasting sub. Went in today to order a veggie sub because I'm vegan and had had this sandwich before (really yummy!). However, the sandwich I got back did not look like the image on the promotional poster or the sandwich I had received the first time around. Literally three mushrooms and a string of bell pepper for both cuts - barely even the filling sub that I remember enjoying a week ago. There's some sort of disconnect between ordering on Yelp/GrubHub for this location. Additionally, the workers are super rude and curt. When I've visited the store to dine-in or pick-up some sandwiches, I always get the combo with chips and a drink. I really like that their combo is inclusive of beverage size. Basically, you pay the same price regardless of getting a small, medium or large beverage. That means I can grab the largest size drink I wish - which I find pretty appealing. When ordering online, you have the option to upgrade to a combo with chips and a drink. Unfortunately, there isn't an option to choose your drink size, which means you default to a medium sized drink. No biggie, I figured I would let the employees know that I wished to get the large drink upon pick-up. Each time I have ordered online for pick-up, there's an issue with this. The last time I visited, the woman helping me was so rude. She grabbed my bag of food and handed it to me, I showed her the chips I was picking out, and then the went to grab me the medium drinks (as it shows on my receipt) I asked her if I could have the large instead, she looked at my receipt and said "oh no, you ordered medium so...". I told her that this issue has come up before, and I would rather have the large sized instead. She sheepishly repeated herself "but you ordered medium" and pointed at my receipt. I relayed to her that this is a continually problem when I come in to get my food, and that the only option online is medium drink. She was responding with confusion and "oh, but I don't know". I asked how I could remedy the issue, since it keeps happening. I asked if they would prefer I add a note at the end of my checkout process on Yelp. She shrugged and kept going "ohh, well I don't know" and was super noncommittal to the conversation. I wasn't trying to make her uncomfortable or pressure her with my inquiry, but she was so timid with her response. We went around in circles with the proper way to handle this drink kerfuffle, which really shouldn't be that big of a deal right? She kept looking around for someone to help her, and eventually one of her coworkers came over to help. I repeated my issue (ordered online, combo only shows option for medium drink, I asked for a large upon pick-up since it's the same price, employee kept saying no) the other woman that came over to help repeated "well you ordered a medium" to which I repeated myself for the fifth time THAT'S THE ONLY OPTION YELP PROVIDES WHEN I PLACE MY ONLINE ORDER (I'm typing in caps because of my exasperation, I did NOT yell or raise my voice) The second woman donned a freshly irritated attitude, and huffed "yeah it's fine". These subs are my favorite EVER. I get the turkey bacon ranch (without the bacon woops), and I'm obsessed with how saucy they are and the turkey is sliced perfectly, not like store bought deli meat style. The sauce bar is such a good idea too! And it's all for a good cause. Gotta love our first responders. I'd say my only suggestion is to eat the subs right away. I took one to go and ate it maybe 40 minutes later and the cheese had cooled down and all the sauce sunk into the bread. Either that or get the sauces on the side.. but it's just not the same. Tastier than Jersey Mikes IMO! The fact that my kiddo will eat an entire meal here is well worth the expensive cost. We have a semi picky eater over here. The sandwiches are amazing! I personally like the sandwich with no deli mustard, makes a HUGE difference in the taste! My fav is the club, my hubby's fav is the Hero. $30 for a family of 3. I have had a gift card sitting on my dresser gathering dust for two years. I got it for doing some volunteer work but, for the life of me, I had no idea where this place is. I finally did a search online and found out it's a chain and there was one on Harbor just south of Adams. When I walked in, I was slapped across the head with the theme of this place. Lots of fire fighting gear and sandwiches named after fire related stuff. You order at the counter, grad your chips and drinks and have the sandwiches brought out to your table. They have the fancy computerized Coke machine allowing you to squirt 100's of different options. Sue me.... I still think it's fun. The employees were friendly and helpful from the greeting when you walk in the door to the helpful girl that gave me suggestions took my order and the "is everything ok" folks walking around and cleaning tables. I had the original "hook and ladder" sandwich with came with Smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted Monterey Jack, served Fully Involved. Fully Involved is everything.....loaded complete with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. They also have a bunch of extra toppings that you can pick to create your own masterpiece. A really, really good fast food sandwich. Nothing gourmet, but really tasty. When I was thinking of adding a little kick, I looked and found their signature sauce and an entire counter full of maybe 25 bottles of different hot sauces. Nice touch.... Yay, sandwiches! Admittedly, I love me some sammiches so I was pretty excited about checking out this new sub place. It replaces an old sub place that I was never really a big fan (Sub-Marine?). Here's my quick impression: Fireman themed Quiznos with better bread. The employee gave me a full run down of their sandwich identity; Steamed meat and cheeses and bread toasted separate of the sandwich although you can order it any way you like. Their "fully involved" is their condiment combo that adds some deli mustard along with mayo, shredded lettuce and tomatoes. I believe the only Bread options are limited to white and wheat. I tried the Hook & Ladder on white bread. It came out in a little red basket served with a pickle. It was adorable, I ate every last crumb. Definitely better than Subway, a step above Quiznos, but I'm not sure if it topples Jersey Mike's at this point. I'll need to try a few other sandwiches before I pass final judgement. I'll come back again for sure. Side Notes: This location had lots of seating, all made up of two person tables that you could put together for bigger groups. However, they probably had too many tables as they definitely need to reorganize a little bit because there's no way they're going to handle the lunch rush in their current configuration. I'm losing a little bit of faith in this place. I went there in recommendation and in the first 5 minutes I was there a guy was given his sandwich and he began to eat it, 15 seconds later he goes back up to the counter and says "There's no meat in this sandwich." The meat was somehow forgotten. Myfirst sandwich was actually pretty good. A LOT more lettuce than any sandwich needs but the meat was good and the bread was really soft. I went back later on and got myself another sandwich, the smokehouse beef and cheddar. I was offered extra meat so I said "sure, why not?!" I also got extra cheese and bacon. I got the sandwich and was about to walk out when the guy stopped me and said he forgot the bacon. I thanked him repeatedly for catching it and fixing it. Well I get home and decide to dig into the sandwich there is no cheese at all. It was a LOT of meat to have with no cheese. I tried to eat it, but it wasn't going down well. I went back again the next day, figuring I'd try again and ordered a sandwich with extra cheese. Got home with it, there was like no cheese at all, even though it was written on the sticker on the front of the bag they handed me. I don't mind being told 'no additions/no substitutions.' But if I pay for it then give it to me. The people are always really nice, for sure. But it seems like if you ask for a sandwich other than the way it is on the menu then you're not going to get what you asked/paid for. I would have checked the sandwich before I left but I felt it would be insulting, now I wish I had. Another sandwich I'm not even going to try finishing. Just got off work and didn't know where to eat. Checked on yelp and this was under hot & new so I thought I might as well try it, and I was very pleasantly surprised! It was in a very nice plaza and was off to the side so I almost drove past it. The parking directly in front is 45 minutes only so if you're planning on taking a longer meal with a friend, you'll probably have to park a bit further into the plaza. First impressions when I walked in: very, very clean and it's name applies to its interior, red with a great firemen painting and themed displays. It has a ring so employees recognize you entering. Immediately greeted by the manager who asked if it was my first time here. It was so he gave me a very nice rundown of how the menu worked and how it was divided. Very friendly staff and quick. Decided to order number one which was their signature sub, the Hook & Ladder. Got a medium combo which was about $7 (after $2 check in). Came with chips and medium drink (free refills). The soda selection is pretty much everything you can choose from and you can even mix them I believe (its one machine for all the sodas with a touchscreen!) but I just went with my favorite orange soda. It wasn't too watery or syrupy. The chip selection has a variety ranging from your standard lays and cheetos to Mrs. Vickie's. It didn't take them too long to get my order ready as it seems I came during a dead period (I was the only one in the restaurant besides two others getting to go orders.) My sandwich came out very well presented in a red tray and didn't have any major spillage of mayo or lettuce off the side. There were wooden sticks in either half to keep it all together. First bite: Awesome. I was expecting a sort of subway quality, but this knocked that right out of the park. Definitely worth it. Initially looking at it, I was afraid it might be a bit too saucy, but it was just the right balance. Also comes with a pickle on the side. If you want some more kick, they have a whole rack on the side with hot sauces ranging from mild (1) to burning (10). Each bottle is labeled with a number corresponding to the heat. If you're not that into spicy like I am I would recommend number 3. It has a very pleasant sweetness to it but maintains that slight mild kick that you want. Got a cookie for dessert (Thanks again!). And it wasn't Mrs. Fields status or anything but much better than your average store bought. Crunchy on the rim and nicely soft texture in between. Made a visit to the bathroom before I left and it was very clean. Small private bathroom with sink and toilet. Nothing too special but am very glad to see it was well maintained. Overall, well worth the trip and I plan on coming back with my friends sometime soon! 5 stars. read more

The crew that was working today (8/16) during lunch time was absolutely unprofessional. Not only were they rude to one another by yelling at each other about orders, they were rude to all customers in the store. Between the 3 of them they were very hot and bothered by having to make sandwiches for the 3 people in the store. Management, please work on training your employees to be more aware of their persona at work. And due to customers not being able to dispense their own drinks, the very irritated employee had to come around from the counter to do it for me, which the drink was gross as well- zero carbonation. Once I finally asked if someone was going to acknowledge me and take my order I was told that they were too busy with online orders and it would be at least 15 minutes before they would even take my order. The female behind the counter making the food was sick, and she kept coughing without covering her mouth. I spoke with the shift manager (Nick) who was clueless even though he was behind the counter as well, he should have been attention since it was so obvious. The flu has been pretty serious this season, so why would you have someone who is obviously sick handling food. I will not come back ever, they have lost a customer. Now if become sick they will have issues. The shift manager should demoted. He can't make a decision and send her home till she gets well, you can call the manager of the store and inform her of the situation.. read more
