But on my last visit, the staff were all in the back and it took several minutes for someone to even notice that I was waiting (yes, I called out). Then when a staff member did finally appear, he was without a mask. He put his mask on as he walked up to the counter but clearly he was unmasked while in the back. Okay. I've visited this location a few times now, I've concluded you will either love it or hate it...and I love it!!!! I am not to familiar with steamed subs but they come out as hot, steamy, deliciousness. Quite a variety to choose from...I know they may be introducing cold sandwiches if not already. The inside is quite a large space very clean, and well decorated makes for a pleasant visit while you wait or eat. They also carry a wide selection of hotsauces ranging from 1 - 10! Love hot sauce so this is definitely a plus for me. To finish this review I just wanted to note the staff is very friendly, always nice to be remembered. read more

Amazing food and service! You have got to try this place out! I tried the Engineer sub on white and made it a combo- fully loaded. The combination of meat and veggies were just right! For me- the bread can be a deal breaker and thankfully, their bread was good; not too soft or hard. (I feel like Goldilocks writing this review haha) They also had a menu for kids which was great for our 2year old. She enjoyed the meatball sub and got a cool fireman hat! I asked for jalapeños, peppers, salt and pepper, and vinegar and oil. Fail! I got home and opened my sandwich, I was missing two items from the "fully involved "menu, I received one - and only one - lonely jalapeño slice, zero peppers, and a soggy bun. And it was on white, ahh but I asked for wheat. Great food, I really like the product. The owner of the restaurant is very very nice, I'm not too sure he has the best manager in place because I did have a little problem and she did not handle it the way I wanted her too. But who am I to demand the best service possible. The owner made things right and again the product is great. I will continue to go back and my five star review is up for now only because I know personally how hard it is these days to get quality managers. When the economy is this good the pickings are slim and I would hate to punish the owner and his Yelp reviews because of a bit so perfect employee. This place is one of my new favorites, the customer service was so amazing. Everything was so simple and easy to understand, a guy named Christopher helped me with my order they were so sweet very upbeat, nice, kind, and seemed like he knew what he was talking about. There also was another lady I believe her name Kimberly who helped actually make my order she was so sweet such a nice person to talk to, and even wished me a nice day. Especially during covid to be able to get a nice meal, and have it be made fresh fast and orderly while having to deal with masks and social distancing is great. Five stars because thier sandwiches are out of this world delicious. I would have given three stars because they got our to go order wrong more than once so we learned to check our order before we go. So Manager or owner of this location, if you read this please make sure your counter employees are reading back the order to your to go customers once or even twice. We have picky kids and mayo or mustard can ruin a meal and going back isnt normally an option. My coworker mentioned that they do a good catering product and since I had to do a lunch & learn at a customer site, this sounded good. You can place the order online and pick up at a time you indicate. I got and the items were ready to go. The platters are for 10 people and you can upgrade to a deluxe platter and also add chips and gallon of drink, ice tea or lemonade. I was driving to a destination, and decided to stop in for quick bite. I began to place my order, a build your own. I chose the 4 inch. At this point the cashier proceeds to explain to me how big 4 inches is, I stated "okay", the cashier begins again to explain how big 4 inches is. I told him I am aware how big 4 inches is. Then I repeat my order w/chicken, lettuce, onion w/xtra onion, and xtra/mayo. I also purchased a drink, and a bag of chips. First off. I am not a small guy, nor am I huge either. I found his repetitive explanation of the size of a 4 inch sub, rude and judgmental. After I was rung up, I headed to the tea machine to get my drink, and then selected a bag of chips, and found a seat and waited for my order. After 10 minutes an employee brought me my sandwich. The Bread was toasted, which I did NOT request, if the cashier could have bothered to explain the subs come toasted (instead of focusing on the size of the sandwich I had ordered). There was some kind of seasoning or sauce (never mentioned) on the cubed chicken. There was tomato, which I did NOT ask for. There was 1 (one) single ring of onion even though I asked for extra, and it was not even a whole ring (more like 3/4 of a single ring). The first couple of times I visited the business I was pretty happy, this time not so much. Actually I am questioning whether or not to go back. I wish I had taken a photo of what I received as a sandwich. I have to say, the cashier was very inept at best. I went in and purchased some food for my family and I today and let me just say how bad I felt for those poor workers. The moment I step foot in the doors I was hit with the smell of burning fumes. It was awful. The workers there let me know about how the toaster broke during their shift which led to that smell being produced. Being in the store for a total of 10 minutes made me sick. From my understanding the workers were getting head aches and were having trouble breathing due to the smell. I can't even imagine how they're supposed to work like that for hours. Please fix this! Dare I start off by saying Subway is better than Firehouse? Sure, this location is huge, the staff nice, service fast and its very clean here. For one its expensive for what you get. We paid $30 for 2 sandwiches and a salad. Turns out the sub on a club that my son ordered was horrible so he brought it back. It had turkey, ham and bacon and since he said all those meats were nasty, there was not much left for him to try and with that a very unpleasant meal with a hungry child complaining, not fun. I had the chef salad and asked if instead on ham I could have sauteed veggies which worked out fine. Unfortunatly what i got was microwaved? canned mushrooms and lukewarm raw onions and they forgot the cheese and eggs. Later on I noticed I could have gotten the same salad for $3 instead of $6 just without the slice of ham and cheese (or in my case veggies) which really annoyed me. My husband got the large briskit double meat and while it was a big sandwich I'm not sure about the double meat part. Oh well, been there, done that, not going back. read more

I'm torn. . . the staff here was extremely friendly (on the same level as those happy In n Out workers). It is a cute little concept, I'm sure the kids love it (everything geared towards Fireman/Firehouses/Fire hoses. . . you get the picture). They had a lot of sandwich options, from hot and toasted to cold, to under 500 calories. It took me a minute to make my selection but I finally decided on the Turkey Bacon Ranch (I started simple). The place wasn't overly clean (I had to actually wipe down my own table and chair) which surprised me, since this place is so new. The sandwich was delivered fairly quickly and there continued the mediocrity. Sure this is just a QSR sandwich place. . . but it still fell short to me. The ingredients didn't seem to be overly fresh, some of the lettuce was actually browned and I had to pick out. Another thing that shocked me since it was so new. I feel like in the beginning you must be on point. I might stick with Quiznos if I'm looking for a toasted sandwich. Right off the bat I'll say part of the reason for the low rating is my own fault. I do not like hot sandwiches (Unless its a cheesesteak or meatball.) I have rolled past this place several times and decided to give it a shot today. So I'm quickly trying to scan the menu for something resembling a club (Like Jersey Mike's #8), I opt for the Club on a Sub. Nowhere did I note these sandwiches were served hot (or warm). Yeah I did see the fake smoke rising from the sandwich pictures and figured it was part of the fireman theme. Looking over the menu I took with me I now see there is a section of Hot Specialty Subs... Anyway, place was clean, service was good. I thought it took a while to make the sandwich, it was lunch time but they weren't busy. Everyone was nice and friendly. As soon as I got back to work and opened this thing I noticed some nasty looking stuff on the slimy looking ham. That's when I notice this thing is warm and that is cheese. Oh $iht! So yeah there was plenty of meat and nothing particularly wrong with it, I just hate to have warm veggies on a hot sandwich. So what would have been crispy lettuce is now soggy. So... After giving this location a stellar review for how kind the customer service was, I now, sadly need to leave an update. If you view the images, you will find my service dog wearing a Faux fireman's helm that they gave him last time I came in with him (which was my first time there). The second time we went in, we looked at the menu for a bit and then went to order. When we approached the register, the little girl manning it, asked me if I had add or adhd or if my dog was registered with the ADA. At this point, I had figured out what she meant... She was attempting to verify why I had a dog with me in a sandwich shop. Of course in this state, the only valid question to ask someone if the dog is a service animal and then eave it at that. I too offence due to the fact that there was another person in there with a service animal who was not confronted whatsoever. I asked why she was asking me that and she told me that her manager told her to ask me, specifically... That right there is discrimination, folks. Anyhow... I ended up WA Long out due to how I was asked and how sneaking the "manager" was acting. I went to sit in my car, which was in front of the store and clearly had my handicap Lazard hanging in the front window and can be seen from inside the store... Put my dog in my car and then got in myself... My girlfriend remained to wait for our order. YES, we did order as we were so hungry. As I sat in the car, waiting, my anger rose towards how poorly the situation was handled and how I was picked out and he I was approached. Eventually I went back in and asked for the manager, who turned out to be the owner of the franchised shop, he was truthful that he snuck out and told this young lady to confront me instead of doing it himself. I explained the laws in the state of California, to then he asked what my problem was, why I needed the dog (which is illegal) and asked how he was registered etc. He also asked if I had proof ... There is no proof required for such an animal, I explained and told him he was a coward for not being a good manager, boys or went and confronting the situation by himself. . . And for singling me out, over the other gentleman who was in the building with his dog... And right next to me at this point. It was a terrible, and frankly disastrous event. I will never be back to this location. The guy who owns the place is rude, condescending and bigoted. If you care for disabled veterans or are offended by bogota, don't go to this location give the jerk money, find another sandwich shop or another firehouse subs even. I can say that I am definitely not big on sub sandwiches. It is once in a blue moon that I will venture my way out for subway or quiznos.. and my boyfriend swears by jimmy johns sandwiches..but I'm a hot sandwich kinda gal and there's nothing hotter than Firehouse Subs! I've tried three things at this sub shop. The meatball sandwich, the beef & cheddar and the Firehouse "Hero" sub. All are pretty tasty, but my favorite?? My "Hero" sub sandwich to save the "i don't know what the f to eat" day. It's a 3 meat sub (turkey, roast beef and honey ham). Surprisingly, with the amount of meat on the sandwich, it is not salty at all. Taste f*cking amazing! I love it hot, but even more, I love it spicy! At the Costa Mesa location (idk if its at all locations) there is a sizable shelf full of hot sauces to try. I am definitely in love with the Walkerwood Jamaican Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce. Heavily themed sandwich place. They've only been open a week, so I'll try to give them the benefit of the doubt. They've got too many kids taking too long to make their sandwiches. The layout is backwards for traffic flow, they took our names AND gave us a number but we still watched some dude walk around sheepishly with our lunch for a couple of minutes before calling our names. In his defense the game was on pretty (too) loud and he should've used his outdoor voice. My sandwich was fine. Better than Subway but still on par with a chain sandwich place like Quiznos. My buddies sandwich was completely wrong and looked like a runty version of whatever it was supposed to be. "It was 50% mayo, 50% meat and 40% as big as it should've been"- my buddy.
