At which point all communication and help dissipated. Questions have gone unanswered, lack of communication about timing on every aspect of the process. Completely Dishonoring and deceitful = Fireside Home Solutions. I am stunned that a company would treat sweet people the way Fireside Home Solutions treated our neighbors! They came to apparently do a cleaning service for our neighbors' fireplace, which was working just fine. After the tech tested the fireplace himself, he wrote on the invoice, "fireplace works fine!". Then he proceeded to spend hours taking everything apart, "cleaning", and putting it back together in a different manner than it was. Then he turned the unit on and now the fan made a horrible noise. He tried adjusting something and then turned it on, and now it didn't work at all. The company proceeded to tell our Senior neighbors that they would have to come up with about $800 dollars, to allow Fireside Home Solutions the ability to order a new fan. Then after it arrived, they would come to install it.....(for who knows how much more money!) Our neighbors have been trying to reason honestly with Fireside Home Solutions; (Stephanie, Destiny, Vald, Braden R., ...) yet, with no resolution. The facts here are this: The tech stated that the fireplace unit worked "fine!", before he began his work. After his "work", the fireplace fan won't work and the unit makes a banging sound when the gas lights the logs...as if something is in the way of the fuel. (scary!) Yet, the staff at Fireside Home Solutions will not honestly own what they did. Basically, they caused our neighbors' fireplace not to work properly OR safely! And they won't fix what they broke! It is Disgusting to know that a company would be so Dishonest and Careless, basically showing that they think it's okay to Steal from seniors and not own up to their responsibilities. Bought 2 gas fireplaces and had them lit off 1 year 2 months ago. One was sooting up. Called them up to get service and ask about warranty and was told warranty was for 1 year. They came out to service and told us the sooting was caused by misplacement of logs over burner (they did the install), though the tech put on the work order it was caused by "log placement shifting". Obivous the sooting happened within the 1 year period, just happent to call them 2 months after period. $400 later. So much for exceeding customer expectations. As a small business owner for 28 years, not impressed, dont complain about big box retailers if you are not adding any additional value. read more

We chose to contact Fireside in October when our pilot light unexpectedly went out because they had originally installed our fireplace. It took several calls, a voicemail, and more calls before someone even picked up the phone. The soonest a technician could come out was in November, over a month after our original call. I understand it's the beginning of winter, so we agreed to wait. They quoted us for the service, and gave us a list of items that were covered in that charge plus diagnostics. When the technician came out, he replaced the batteries in the ignitor box, then lit the pilot light with a lighter. When he flipped the switch and the fire wouldn't light, you could tell he was at a loss. He called his supervisor, and together they determined "it must be a gas valve". The tech didn't have the part in his truck, but it was at the warehouse. When I asked how long we'd have to wait for someone to come back out, he said we'd be at the top of the line (no more than a week) for another tech to come out because it's considered a follow-up appointment. He charged us at that time, and said the scheduler would reach out the following day. Fireside did not reach out to us at all to reschedule. After a week, we tried to contact them. It took myself and my partner over TEN calls to get a person on the phone again. When we finally did, they quoted us January 5th as the soonest they could get a senior technician to come out with a gas valve. What a joke. We declined to wait that long and asked for a refund as they pre-charged us for a service they didn't complete. Still waiting on a call back from the manager they promised would call us two weeks ago about that refund. We've reported them to our bank as well. To add, we ended up calling another company that came out 2 days after we called. We didn't need a new gas valve either, a small part of the pilot assembly was warped. The guy fixed it in 2 minutes and didn't even charge us. I would avoid Fireside at all costs, these people are frauds. read more

Purchased a fireplace from here and paid for a very pricey installation. Worst decision I could have made. We had someone out 5 times over the course of roughly a month to simply connect the fireplace and start it up. We had our three fireplaces serviced by this company two years ago. It was time for another service as one of our fireplaces was acting up. We sent them an email and asked them to schedule an appointment. They were responsive and came back with a date of about two months out, which is normal in this economy. Then they came back and said they would have to charge us a trip fee of $225. They are in Bellevue we are in Snoqualmie, which is only a 15 mile drive. $225 trip fee for 15 miles? I think they're out of their minds. Also, they did not charge that two years ago when we had our fireplaces serviced by them. We are very disappointed. read more

We ordered a fireplace that was in stock (we made sure we chose a fireplace that was in stock to avoid delays) when we ordered it. It was partially delivered three weeks after the order - this completely delayed our remodeling project by 3 weeks, with all the inconveniences this implies. My contractor was able to finish the remodeling project leaving a hole on the wall for 2 weeks when Fireside finally decided to come. When I spoke to the person installing telling how relieved i was for finally have the project completed, he asked how long were you waiting? I responded about 1 month, he said consider yourself lucky, there is people waiting for 6 months for their projects to be complete. After the installer left, I was left with the surprise that the project was not completed. They "forgot" parts. The response from Ryan Heat to our contractor was "Sorry the part (part 1) did not go out on the last trip" , "I am not sure why it (the other part 2) wasn't there with the rest of the kit" with they finally saying "I completely understand the frustration on the customer's side" Besides "not being sure" or "being sorry parts in stock are not delivered" this company has a terrible customer service. We called their number of times to talk with Ryan or Josh, they never pick up, they never call back, they are only communicating to our contractor at this point. The fireplace is new and so far is not what we were expecting with very tiny flames, different from what they show in their exhibit room in Bellevue. On top, i smell some gas when I turn on, I am hoping there are no leaks. I read another review where they say the company left leaks. Bad experience so far. read more

The problem with Fireside is more with the service than the sale. They carry great brands, but when they break (which they will), the fireplaces are complex to fix and they are routinely several weeks, or months, out from making repairs. Other repair shops have refused to work on these brands because they are so complicated. Also, their showroom was one of the best one I'd seen. We recently bought a gas insert for our woodburning fireplace. I checked out all the Mendota dealers in the Seattle/Bellevue area and I'm glad we went with Fireside (Bellevue location). To be honest, I was initially concerned about the Yelp rating but I saw that the Google reviews were good, and I had been pleased with my experience with them thus far, so I felt confident moving forward, and I'm happy we did. The best part was the easy, fast scheduling. Other places had a much longer wait time, and we were hoping to enjoy our insert before Thanksgiving. They totally delivered! I only have a minor criticism and I am sharing so that others can learn from my experience--the installation team accidentally scratched our wood deck while using a ladder to access our chimney, but I am confident we can buff it out later. The tech cleaned the window and the interior a bit, ran the fireplace and it worked ok for ten minutes, gave us a bill for nearly $400 after being in our house for 30 minutes tops. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!!!We had a brand new house built , we were not even in our brand new home but a couple of weeks when fireside hooked up our fireplace incorrect or something failed. Our brand new home is now covered in soot. We have tried to be patient this happened early Decemeber . I keep getting strung along have gotten estitmates and every week its more waiting and nothing getting done. I have talked with a Keith on the phone and he was very sarcastic and acted like we are making a big deal over nothing . Just the starting bids to remove soot is 20K plus, this doesn't include repainting , cleaning our furniture or anything, Soot is nothing you ever want to deal with it is on EVERYTHING a fine black sticky dust,in closets on our clothes our food , it loves plastic ! I now during Covid have been not able to work , because it is making me sick and people are afraid it is covid Etc. So stressful Not to mention we lived in our last home 22 years had wood heat and thought this would be nice and less mess. WRONG! We saved for 22 years finally got in our new house purchased several very quality items Purple matteress 1400. Jura coffee maker 1200 and these are items that can't be cleaned and my new jura coffee maker is already flashing "new filter" , it probably won't last at this point, oh and its even in our fridge ALL over it . It is crazy and that worst part is they haven't even hired anyone to CLEAN it up !! The repair man was shocked and took dones of pictures and assured me that it would get fixed asap that was DEC 16th . and today i get that this Keith wants to come tomorrow to look at our fireplace no mention of getting clean up started ! Day of the appointment comes and no one shows, no one calls...nothing. Today I called to ask what happened and they said they called to confirm on the day and left a voicemail neither of which they actually did. The next appoint they offered is a over a month out. Buyer Beware !!! We would give them Zero star If we could find the option here. The business sold us two gas inserts last summer, we have no chance of using it until we move in Feb 21. Immediately, we found there is problem with one of gas insert leak out odors while using it, after several days of using, we are unable to get rid of odors. Their technician came to diagnose the issue, they claiming it is our chimney cause it not their products , materials or installation. So they asked us to do professional chimney clean, we did but it did not help, they later said it needs another chimney clean or 2 month of burning to resolve the problem. We knew it is impossible to get rid of odor even if we do another chimney clean or turning on the gas insert for two months during this hot weather. Strong Odor produced by gas insert cause us to vent it after every try. I don't think we can use it while we are living in the house. Our warranty is expiring in a month. We request them to return and refund since they can not get it fixed, they refused. Fireside used to be a good company 7 years ago when we first purchased one of gas insert from them, now we end up with a serval thousands dollar cost of gas insert that is unusable and sitting in garage uninstalled. And if you read carefully Fireside contract, they are basically not guaranteeing anything and not responsible for problems. read more

We bought an expensive Ortal fireplace. Fireside did not install the gas lines properly and we had to call PSE because there was a gas leak. It took over 6 months for Fireside to fix this. Every time you need a technician to come out it takes several months to book a new appointment. In one case, the technician didn't have all the tools to fix the gas pipe. In another case, the technician discovered a new problem with one of the burners. He said Fireside would call us to schedule a follow-up but they did not. They never do. They'd rather not deal with your warranty problems. Our last appointment was in early November. They are telling me now that the next availability is January. Before my last visit, I ordered new logs which Fireside said they received in the warehouse. Then during the day of service, they said they couldn't locate the logs in the warehouse and tried to get me to reschedule, which means several months of delay. WARNING: DO NOT EXPECT ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've never seen any company treat customers so poorly as Fireside. read more

My amusement for this skit became my reality today when I regretfully stepped into Fireside Home Solutions. We had a few, simple questions regarding a fireplace. We approached an associate who clearly had better things to do than to spare us a few minutes of his precious time and who responded to every single one of our simple questions with, "You'll need to talk to the service department."
