Made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. Was told it'll be 1.5-2hrs which is still horrible for the an oil change and tire rotation. Went to grab a bite. Came back an hour later and my truck is still sitting in the same place where I parked it. I went to talk to the front desk and they told me I'm up next. Sat in the lobby for another 1.5 hours. In the meantime I saw cars come in after me and leave before me. Finally I told them to give me back my keys so I could leave. It was 4:00PM when I got in my truck which was parked in the same spot since 1:30PM. They didn't even apologize when they gave me back the keys. Make sure they have your tire in stock BEFORE they take your tires off. I've currently been sitting here for almost three hours because they don't have TWO quoted set of tires in stock and now they are taking their sweet time putting my old tires back on. When I arrived - with an appointment - I was told it would take an hour and half. After that hour and a half they told me they didn't have the quoted tires in stock but had some similar tires. Sure. Throw those on. We're rolling now, right? Nope. Now they don't have the second tires. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I scheduled an appointment to have my oil changed. As I was waiting in line to speak to the cashier I noticed the Cashier was not wearing a face mask, and neither were any of the mechanics in back. Yet, all the customers waiting in line, about 6 of us in total, were all wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing. It was my understanding that Contra Costa County had strict mask guidelines, and I'm shocked all these employees were not wearing any kind of face covering. Needless to say I didn't wait long enough to get my oil changed, and went some where else that at least wore face covering. read more

After speaking with Brooklyn - who told me I needed 4 new tires and had terrible customer service, I decided to drive back to Berkeley on my spare (max mph 50!) rather than spend my money there. read more

If I oils give less than 1 star I would. I am SO unhappy with the service at this Firestone location. Made an appointment for an oil change, tire rotation, check fluids, etc. Arrived early and the line was practically out the door. Apparently short-staffed. Okay I get that. Left the car figuring it would be a little while. After 2 hours and no call I went back to check on the car. Still not ready. I decided to sit in the lobby. After another 30 minutes the car was ready. Still hadn't lost my patience. Got in the car and realized that they had not added air or rotated tires. I know this for sure because I have been adding air to the front right tire for a couple of weeks and the cap is missing on that tire. Guess what? Front right tire still missing cap. They even tried to tell me that I was mistaken. Yeah I don't think so. And they charged me for it. Give me a break. I will never come back to this store. After having the starter replaced, which went fine, I drove off and the check engine light was on. Took the car back and they put it on the test machine and told me there was a problem with the air temp sensor and knock sensor. Then they wanted $110 to do a full diagnostic. I took the car to another shop and they reconnected the air sensor, the plug had been deliberately disconnected. Now the check engine light is off. read more

I try to avoid these big box type auto repair centers but the savings just can't be beat sometimes. For the traditional auto maintenance and tire replacements, a Firestone can be a good bargain for a consumer. Avoid any body work and/or anything not listed on their wall menu. Their systems are built to add tremendous mark-ups to the parts price. Lucas is a great guy to work with here. He seems honest and tries to explain the pros and cons of any recommendations. I started my day off leaving my class and realizing I had a flat tire when I was driving to work. When I thought things couldn't get any worse, my spare tire didn't have enough air. However, I spotted firestone tires from a short distance away and rolled my spare tire to them. With no hesitation "John" grabbed my spare tire and pumped it up for me. That really Saved my day. Had a flat the other day and went here to fix it. It was a small bolt penetrated the tire in the middle of the protector. I have just replaced my tires a couple of weeks ago with an expensive brand, bad luck! What they said was that it is irreparable and i have to buy four new tires! I replied that those are bright new tires under 500 miles on them, why is it necessary? They refused to listen and i had to take my car back! Went to another shop to double check and they fixed the tire without even mentioning anything about it being irreparable. Will never ever again go to that place! read more

My wife needed 2 new tires, and decided to get them on a Saturday. She ended up at Firestone, where they told her that because her vehicle is AWD, she needed 4 new tires. $500+ later they offered her a free oil-change to be used anytime in the future. 3 weeks later I took my wife's car in to have the oil changed. After about an hour I get a call saying that there's a leak and that they couldn't change the oil because of that. So I drove the car to my usual shop, where they changed the oil. About 3 weeks later my car needed an oil change and again I took it to Firestone. About an hour later I get a call saying that the oil plug is coming out crooked and that they couldn't change the oil because of it. So again I drove my car to my usual shop, where they changed the oil. Today my son came home from college, so I decided that I was going to use the "free oil change" on his car. Once again, after about an hour I get a call, this time saying that the oil plug isn't original, that the last place changing the oil had put a larger plug in the oil pan because the pan was stripped. I went back to the store and Firestone offered me a refund to off-set the free oil change. This was a nice gesture, and had they offered me this the first time I would not have written this review, but I am more than a little perturbed about bringing 3 cars to them and not being able to get the oil changed. To wit: Having to buy 4 tires when you need 2... getting a "free oil change" - crossing the bridge, paying toll, 3 times and spending 3+ hours waiting for the oil changes to be performed... ultimately without any oil being changed = NOT WORTH IT. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

The new manager is a mess and is super unprofessional mentioning that everyone that used to work there were all fired because they didn't know what they were doing, but clearly he had no idea what he was doing. I've been going there for years with no problem and as soon as this new manager starts working there, he can't seem to find me in the system and was very rude about it. I wasted a whole hour and decided I will never come back after that horrible experience. They've just lost a loyal customer that's been going to different Firestone's for the last 7 years. The one time I've been here, they tried to trick me into paying 700 dollars for a repair I didn't need. They recommended that I get my caliper and struts replaced. I went to a different firestone(back where I live). They only recommended a brake pad replacement! 600$ saving. I don't want to name anybody. But concord first one needs to be more honest and care about the customer more than the quota. The only thing that saved me was my intuition to get a second quote before fishing out 700 out of pocket (aka credit because I wasn't planning on spending that much). I echo the disappointments of the other Yelpers. I have been to other Firestore locations and have had good or better than average experiences, but am very disappointed in this Firestone location. I went in for an oil change, and they recommended that I come back in a few weeks because my struts needed to be replaced. They told me it would cost a few hundred dollars. I took my car back in a few weeks and then the customer service rep handed me the estimate, which was over a thousand dollars, as opposed to a "few hundred dollars". I told him that I didn't want them to proceed with the service, and the rep proceeded to harass me and taunt me why I couldn't afford the thousand dollar service. I told him that that wasn't a small amount of money and that I wanted to get estimates from other mechanics. He still procceeded to taunt and harass me. I then spoke with other mechanics who took a look at my car and told me I didn't even need new struts. read more

this firestone SUCKS!!!! when i used to have a 1999 camero with tee tops (4 years ago) i went here to get a check up and have stuff changed if needed i needed a new spark plug which they said they had changed which they did but they used the cheapest spark plug they could find incorectly put it in and it melted which caused my car to begin sputering and also begin moving wierd (starting and stoping) and this all happened with my mom driving her bf in the front seat and me and my sister in the back on the highway . so DO NOT !!!! I was gonna give three stars but I realized that I won't keep on coming back here if I did not like them at all. I think I have spent more than ten thousand dollars worth of tires and maintenance in the span of 14 years spread among 6 different vehicles. There were more good experiences than bad. The worst really is when they've charged me for parts but did not replace it at all. I could've raised hell but I let cooler heads prevail and listened for their explanation. I asked for an air filter replacement for $27.99, free labor of course because it's almost effortless. I just asked them to throw it in as a part of my $1300 water pump and brakes job. Anyway, I checked out the repairs when I got home and curiosity got the best of me and opened up my air intake manifold then voila! One dirty K&N filter found in it. The same filter I asked them to replace, but (special instruction to Monica) to leave the dirty K&N to me so that I could clean, recharge it for use at a later time. Or whenever I get around it. I just wanted the band-aid treatment of the common paper air filter for now. I went back to Firestone the following morning and pointed out the grave mistake they've done the previous night. Alex, I think, same guy who helped me out while preparing the job order, told me that he specifically told the front counter guys to delete the charge because they do not replace K&N because it's a higher-end type filter. Yadi dadi da. I pretended to sound interested but in the back of my mind is what will you do for me. After a couple minutes into his spiel, he took out the charge from the invoice and refunded $27.99 back into my Firestone charge card. Apologize, apologize. Ok no hard feelings. Have a good day. Buh-bye. Some of the good things. Personal attention. If they want to sell something to you. You're their best friend. Nothing wrong with that and I expect them to act that way when selling. They'll try to give you all possible discounts so that you spend your hard earned cash for work that you absolutely need for your vehicle. Came just to do an alignment and balance and I've been here for 3 damn hrs. It doesn't take 3 hrs just to do this shit. I even made an appointment to get it taken care of so I didn't have to wait so long. I finally left after close to 4 hours of waiting. The manager or associate I was dealing with just waived my balance fee of $75 since I paid for the lifetime alignment a while back. If your not on top of them, they don't give a rats ass if your just sitting there. Worse serve ever and wasted 4 hrs of my day which I took the day off to get this taken care of. read more

If you value your car, don't go near any firestone store. A while back, I took my car in for a simple oil change. The next day the oil light came on and, guess what, there was no oil in the engine. I called them and, duh, they told me not to drive the car. I put some oil in and drove it in. If I had had to have it towed would they have paid for it? When I get it there, they told me some gobbledy gook about some part missing. I'm a woman, but I'm not stupid. The simple fact is that they didn't put the plug back in and all the oil leaked out. They told me I need to change my break pads and they said I only have 4 mm break pads left but when I took my car to another place (Les Schwab) to check and hope to get a better quotation, Les Schwab said my breaks pads still have 7mm left, and no need to worry buying new breaks for now. read more

Total scumbags! I went in for a simple oil change, and they bent one of the hinges on my hood. When I pointed it out to them, the manager insisted that it must have been that way when I brought it in. They then accused me of trying to scam them. These guys are absolutely terrible - I had to pay ~$200 to get that fixed. As a bonus, my SRS (airbag system) light has been on ever since. Thanks guys, for busting my car! GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. I went here for a nail in my tire. They wouldn't fix it because the nail was close to another repair. They then proceeded to tell me they couldn't sell only one tire that I had to buy 4 tires of the same make. Something about suspension balance????? never heard of this in all of the years of driving. So they put on my spare and never did reset the tire inspection light. So now I have to go to another place just to but ONE tire, something sound fishy to me. I also wanted them to fix a mistake they made one other time, they broke the latch to the hood, I can't open the hood to check the oil or put windshield liquid in the dispenser. read more

About 11 months has passed since the "incident" with this Firestone center. To this day, the shocks have not been leaking and they are doing just fine. If they were "leaking" I would know because there were other repairs (mostly electric) I had to do on the same vehicle since then and no one noticed any "leak" whatsoever. read more

In 2013 I bought new tires,Bridgestone Ecopia, for my VW Jetta, . Last month on a regular maintenance with VW I found out that my front tires were too worn and needed replacing. The tires only had 18K miles on them! The warranty is a joke. It covers nothing. I went back to Firestone and all they did was give me a quote for new tires with such a ridiculous discount, that I was insulted ($7.20 for tire discount, $1.04 for part discount and $1.46 for labor discount). Initially, I would have given this establishment zero stars for their disingenuous approach to try and add on unneeded service. Like any business, they are going through a transition, and the employee that attempted to mislead me has been dealt with -- and is no longer with the company. Firestone offers a lifetime alignment service for under 200.00. I purchased a lifetime alignment a little over a year ago. Since then I have taken my car in every 6 months to align the wheels. Every time I bring it in the wheels are in need of alignment. They will adjust the alignment when ever it is needed. Ya I said it. I don't go every month, but the way I drive sometimes it would be a good idea. I am very pleased with my service and the place I go is right next to the mall. Ha. I can shop and get my eyeglasses made or any shopping i need to do. Oh yeah there is a Safeway next door too so I can go grocery shopping if need be. Perfect. You have to wait a few hours for the service and that is the only reason I don't give them a fifth star. read more

I've had mixed experiences from Firestone before. Nothing really bad and nothing really great, just "meh." But I walked in today and was greeted by Moss (like Randy Moss) and this guy was awesome. He was quick, polite, and cheerful. He attached a coupon for me (without me even having to ask!) and got me the lowest price possible. This Firstone is awful! I took my company's van in for a quick oil change on a Thursday morning. They estimated it would take an hour and a half. For an oil change! After two hours of sitting on their grungy couches in the waiting room I went to the counter and asked for a status. They told me it had been done for 45 minutes! Nobody called or even walked the five yards over to the waiting room to get me. The people who work there are not very friendly, the woman who works the counter is particularly nasty. In terms of my experiences with commercial auto stores (i.e. wheel works, other firestones etc...) this was by far my best experience. Everyone was extremely friendly. Not sure why this place is getting such a bad wrap, but my experience so far has been really good. I replaced the tires of both of my cars and with purchase of a life time alignment I get my tires rotated, balanced and aligned with every oil change for free.
