So I scheduled an appointment online with Gavin and he told me to be there at 3:30 pm. I show up and the guy at the front desk tells me it's going to be a 2.5 to 3 hour wait with no explanation. If you schedule an appointment you should be able to see me on time. I drove 10 miles to get there for no reason. I use my car for work and cant be sitting around for 3 hours. If I could give negative stars I would. I made huge mistake by telling my daughter to take my truck to the nearest Firestone to her because she lives an hour away from me. My daughter noticed a vibration sound/feeling coming from the truck and it concerned her. She explained the symptoms and waited patiently for diagnostics. The service advisor named "Jessie" followed up with a list of "rcmd" maintenance costing around $1k but no information regarding the diagnoses of the issue that brought her there in the first place. Finally Jessie came back with a diagnosis of low battery and front bearing needs replaced. To make a long story short, not only was my vehicle having same issue but the issue was much worse. The truck was making a high pitch squealing noise when in revers and the same vibration thing. I asked my daughter to send me a video of this and called Firestone to tell them. Jessie answered the phone and said his mechanic test drove and all was good and that it sounded like I have a transmission problem and to take it somewhere else because they don't work on transmissions. I sent him the video to show him what was happening and he said it was the seatbelt warning signal but i can bring back the following Saturday to have it looked at. The managers and mechanic were gone that day and Saturday was best. By this time I was beyond frustrated and didn't want to wait several days in case this was a safety issue etc. The conversation ended with him yelling at me and hanging up on me. About 30 min later Caleb, the manager called me back and apologized for how Jessie spoke to me and said that Jessie's behavior didn't represent "Firestone" values. He asked that I have the mechanic from whatever place I end up taking it to call him to let him know what they find. Fair enough! In the end I ended up taking it to the Toyota dealer. They diagnosed a issue with the same bearing Firestone replaced. The bearing had grease leaking out all along the seal. In addition the backing plate was bent and rubbing on the the brake. So I basically had to pay to have the job redone properly. My Toyota service rep called to speak to Caleb, but was unable to because Jessie was answering the phone and saying he was the only manager available. Finally I got in touch with Dylan who identified himself as store manager and asked that I bring the parts so he could look at them. He told me his day off and that he would be there from until 7 pm the rest of the days but yo call him right before I head out. I tried to call and let Dylan know I was on my way. Jessie answered the phone and said Dylan and Caleb were both gone for the day and he was the only manager there and he would give them the part to look at. Well at this point I don't trust Jessie one bit and left a message with corporate and waiting for a call back to help me with a resolution. At this point I will never go to another Firestone again ! It's two hours before they close and they can't do a 15 minute oil change. This is the worst firestone I have been to. I won't be back. Rock on tire guys, rock on. I'm kind of a last minute type person when it comes to my car. I mean, if it drives and I get from point A to point B I don't really pay attention to things. However, if it starts smoking or I hit a curb (which I've been known to do) I'll take action. So one day I was listening to my loud music , singing and pretending I was Beyonce and WHAM! Hit a curb. Mkay, that was embarrassing. Kind of like when you trip and fall and look around you like "what was that, where'd that come from??" and not even noticing the horde of people laughing behind you (which would def be me in any other situation). Anycurbs, when I arrived at my destination I noticed I had a huge air bubble in my tire between the rubber and the rim. Oy veh. Now I know that's not good. So I drove over the Firestone. I walked in and was greeted right away by Awesome Dude #1. I noticed that the shop was packed and I thought I would be there for hours. When I told the guy of my idiocracy, he laughed and said "let me go take a look". Then he told me he didn't have my tire in stock, but he could get it from another location within the hour and have it changed wicked fast. *sigh* I thought to myself, oh great this is gonna be a 4 hour ordeal. So I sat my ass in the chair and pulled up the newest edition of Forbes. (Sidenote: Why do car shops have manly magazines...why not any Teen Beat or Seventeen?) Um, literally 45 minutes later Awesome Dude #1 comes out and says "She's all done!" SAWEEEET!!!! I pay for my new tire (at a very reasonable cost) and peace out. Recently I needed an oil change, and I needed someplace to get it done that was affordable, quick and could work with my schedule. The Firestone was extremely accommodating and quick. I needed an appt for thursday at 7am, and I called in on Wednesday afternoon. They fit me right in! When I went there, they were friendly and understood I was money conscious. One of my tires had recently been fluctuating in air pressure and I was concerned about a nail in it before a huge ice storm. They easily checked and let me know that there was a nail in the tire I was concerned about. They gave me a discounted price and I was in an out of there in less than a hour for both things! Easy to find on lovers lane right by the expressway. I would highly recommend. read more

Only downfall was that an attractive mechanic was hitting on me (which I didn't mind) but he got my number off of my contact sheet and called me ten minutes after I left to ask if he could come over?! I had a very costly part replaced at tires Plus in Lake Mary Florida in May of 2021. The part was diagnosed in need of replacement by a trusted source here in Dallas, but I was told to try Firestone, an affiliate of Tires Plus, maybe there was a warranty that could be executed. I made an appointment on Wednesday for Monday morning 10A. BY THE WAY, after phoning Tires Plus to prepare for my Monday morning visit, was told that this part was JUST out of warranty by 3000 miles and 4 months. I asked Firestone how long a diagnosis would take so we could move to the negotiation phase for possible partial warranty ....maybe. I wanted to get a diagnosis right away to determine if there might be an allowance. BUT why would I even want to replace a part from Firestone that lasted only 15, 000 miles. The previous part pasted 280, 000 miles. I was told there could be no diagnosis before late afternoon, no exceptions. I left with nothing. My privately owned neighborhood repair shop will do the work very soon and within a few hours. NO MORE FIRESTONE OR TIRES PLUS. BEWARE: the auto repair industry has more demand than supply. Ordered tires online And received my next day confirmation email that my appointment was confirmed. Arrived 15 minutes before my appointment and the advisor in the store told me they didn't have the tires and that just because I got a confirmation from Firestone it didn't matter, that it had to come from their store. Okay, so two confirmation emails needed then, got it. He then proceeded to tell me that a store an hour and twenty minutes away had the tires. By far the worst car experience I have ever had. I had an appointment scheduled for 12pm for a coolant and radiator diagnosis. They had me wait 4 hours until they gave me their diagnosis. They said my turbo charger was broken and it was a $3.5k repair. Funny thing is my car is supercharged (there is no turbo). Going here is a complete waste of your time. Went here with an appointment at 3pm today to get my oil changed, and alignment done. After sitting there for four hours they finally brought my truck to the alignment machine. The alignment did not fix the issue that the guy at the front desk said it would. I don't even want to go back to see if they can possibly fix the issue because it was such a miserable experience. Took my sons Nissan car in to a Firestone at a different location because this one was full. The check engine light was on. The dianostics test shown the sensors needed replaced and fuel line cleaned. The light came on again the next morning. I took it to this location instead of orginal location i had gone because of this one's reviews. They spent quite some time on to get the light off. Their 2nd diagnostics shown the same problem with new part. They were very courteous and didn't charge for the extra time spent. I go here because of their reviews and wanted to add mine as well. Let me preface this review by saying that I only gave this location 1 star because I was obligated to in order to write the review. This Firestone location doesn't even deserve that. If you value your car at all (especially if it's an import), do not take it here! I went in for an oil change which I received. After completing the oil change they told me that I would also need an oil pan replacement. I couldn't get the oil pan replaced that day due to time constraints so I brought it in about 3 weeks later. When I came back to get the oil pan replaced I was told that it would only take 3 hours. It ended up taking more than that AND once they installed the oil pan it was faulty. Oil was leaking profusely from my car so much so I had to leave it there overnight. In the course of the second oil pan replacement they BROKE my main seal and tried to sell me some story about how it just fell out so they replaced that too free of charge. I was told again that the service would only take about 3 hours once the 2nd replacement part came in. Some 10 hours into the second business day I get a call from Dwight telling me that my car may not be ready in time. He also asked if I could leave it again overnight...um NO! If I wanted my car back on the 3rd day I would have brought it in on that day! The airheads at this location eventually delivered my car a few minutes after closing. While driving away from the Firestone I realized that my speedometer, odometer, trip odometer, clock, and cruise control don't work! They BROKE the speed sensor in my car as well. In addition, my check engine (CEL/MIL) light came on. So I had to take it back in to get the idiots to replace it. What was supposed to be a 3-hour service turned into a 3-day service. A total inconvenience. If they would have done the service properly the first time this would not have occurred. The technicians lack the skills necessary to do anything outside of tires, alignments, brakes, and oil changes. The customer service staff, store manager (managing partner) included. Emergency stop!! Had TOTALLY flat tire leaving carpool, running on the rim and pulled in desperate not to ruin my rims, or blow the tire completely. I drove up and a gentleman on break stopped and helped me. He said the tire was ruined (thanks residential construction in Park Cities...it's my 2nd ruined tire in a year) and he didn't stock it, they helped me with air, even though they didn't have my tire & I wasn't a customer. Stay away! This Firestone is well known locally for gouging its customers by adding on maintenance that the car doesn't need, refusing to fix tires that can be fixed, and recommending unneeded tire replacements. We've been using Firestone for awhile because my husband has had the Firestone credit card forever, but no more. We went there for an oil change a few weeks ago and they handed us a laundry list of things that needed "immediate attention". It was over $1500 worth of work, including new struts. After hearing from others in the area through Nextdoor.com that said they'd been fleeced by Firestone, we took the car to Bill Hewitt's Garage for a second opinion. The car did need spark plugs, a new battery, and a transmission flush, but didn't need a lot of the stuff Firestone was claiming and definitely did not need new struts! We've had poor service at several of the local Firestones in the years since we've moved here, but this was the last straw. We'll never go back and encourage others to find a local and TRUSTWORTHY mechanic. Edit 12/07/2017: 3.5 years later with the same car and still haven't needed to replace those struts this place said needed immediate attention. While driving through Dallas at night, I missed a turn lane and hit a roadside curb and blew out a front tire. I mad an appt. and came in the following day to replace compact spare I had put on and to perform an alignment. Experience was fine until I drove off and noticed the steering wheel was crooked. It was *not* like that when I brought it in. When I went back inside and politely pointed it out and asked them to center it, one of the guys, who had been sitting behind the counter staff, seemingly supervising but saying nothing to anyone, came up and told me they were not able to completely align the car because of a seized tie rod, and as for my crooked steering wheel, they could un-align the car if I wanted to. I know enough about adjusting a steering wheel that I know it is adjustable independently of an alignment. But given his obnoxious & misleading comment, I figured the less time these people spent on my car (2000 Honda- not rocket science) the better. Slimy experience. Oh and I almost forgot- instead of storing the compact spare back where it belonged under the hatch area, they left it sitting on top of the carpet. Lazy, or incompetent? My car had a bad battery and needed a replacement. We went by at about 5:15 on a Sunday afternoon - after their posted closing hours - fully intending to just drop the car off and have them service it the next day, as I'd called earlier to inquire. Instead, the mechanic said to run in and see if I could get it serviced before they left, and, after the manager checked with the mechanic, they said that they could check the battery, and if it needed changing, change it right then. This was above and beyond what they needed to do. I offered to go buy them a pizza, but they politely refused. After the work was complete, the mechanic asked about our driving habits and suggested buying a smart charger for our car battery so that we wouldn't have future problems. We would definitely use them again, as they were fast, fair, and really helped us out on their own initiative. read more

They got my car in for service the very next day, they graciously gave me a ride back home so I didn't have to wait all day in the waiting room. We have been to another Firestone location due to convenience, but have been generally dissatisfied with the quality of work and had decided never to go back. My wife brought her car here out of desperation one day a few months ago and the difference was unbelievable. Fast forward to last weekend when my battery went dead a couple of blocks away, we called and someone came to jump start my truck within minutes. BEWARE! I would have given this business a zero star rating if it were an option. My car overheated in Dallas and I had my car towed here (on a Thursday). I chose this location because it was late in the evening and the only place that was still open. Joe assured me they would start working on the car first thing the next morning. After hearing nothing, I called the shop on the following Wednesday only to find out that they had been waiting on parts, and had gotten the parts but hadn't started on the car yet (Joe was not the one on the phone with me this time; he obviously didn't want to let me know what was actually going on). It took them two weeks to "fix" it. They told me the timing belt had slipped off and caused the car to overheat. After waiting two weeks, I got a phone call saying that the good news was the only thing wrong was the timing belt (they had supposedly been waiting on a timing belt cover) and the car would be ready to pick up that day. Three hours later, I got another phone call from them..I said "hello, how are you?" The man on the other end said "well Ms. K, not good and you're not about to be either". To my surprise, suddenly the head gaskets needed replacing and it would be at least another $750 on top of the already $900 that I would be spending for the timing belt and labor. I got very suspicious and decided to tow the car all the way from Dallas to Austin where I live. I believe that they told me I needed new head gaskets because they knew I lived about 4 hours away and had no possible way of driving it home if the head gaskets needed replacing and it would further damage the car. Here I am 4 weeks later and still dealing with the aftermath of being duped by these terrible people. The shop I have it at now says that the head gaskets are perfectly fine and that Firestone didn't even put the timing belt on correctly (they put it on incorrectly by 4 notches) and that could be the entire problem with the car now. Joe and his fellow coworkers will dupe you if you go here. They are obviously extremely incompetent. STAY AWAY. Update: the mechanic called me after seeing my review and refunded me almost the full amount. I'm glad he wanted to make things right and am appreciative that I'm no longer out hundreds of dollars. read more

The guys there are super nice; however I went in on a Thursday and they were busy and said it would take 1.5 hours for my oil change, so I decided to schedule an appointment for the next day at 10:30am so I could be in and out. So Friday, today, I got there at 10am for for 10:30 appointment. They let me know at that time they were going to need to order the filter and it was going to be expensive and take longer. I am not sure why they didn't order it the day before, so it would be ready when I got to the appointment. At this point I wasn't frustrated though- still was planning on it taking an hour and being out of there the latest 11:30. 1pm and my car still wasn't ready!!! I had to ask what was going on with my car- no one gave me updates as to why it was taking so long. In fact, I think the manager of the store went out and did it himself because he knew it had been so long. (Very nice of him, but needs to get his guys in line). I just got home now, and it is 1:23. I have been dealing with this Firestone dealer for many years. Eventually there was a turnover in the staff and lately...they cannot be trusted. I purchased tires from Firestone at the auto center at 9070 Forest Lane Dallas Texas..the first of the year 2018. I went in for wheel rotation among a few other things. I was told wheel stud was stripped And would have to be replaced, at first they were expecting me to pay for it..but I explained that they were the only one dealing with the tires on my car so they agreed to cover cost. While I waited the manager came back and stated the wheel bearing fell out so they would order and replace that also on the right front where the stud was stripped. Front wheel stud, front wheel nut, front wheel bearing, front wheel hub replaced. I was there for 3 hrs that day. All this was on July 11, 2018. Now on Aug. 1 i am driving and hear this noise sounds like a lawnmower, I took the car in to the dealer 8/3/2018. Was told the parts were bad that they replaced and that the left side is also the problem. Another 3 hrs for them to replace the parts on the right side and say that was not the problem it is the left side now. I was not having any problems with my wheels until Firestone stripped the stud and caused all the problems on the left wheel. The manager states he will waive the labor and replace wheel bearing and wheel bearing hub for 225.00. I didn't let them do that. I had my car checked out elsewhere and was told when you replace one side for this problem if you do not replace the other side it will go bad. Seems to me that is what happened. Firestone should do the right thing and fix my car at no cost to me. At 67 years old they are not even aware of the stress they are causing me. now car is parked for fear of something else happening to make the situation worse. K.owens37@yahoo.com. read more
