The civic would not jump start when my mom was shopping in little Saigon. Thinking it was just a simple jump start solution, drove the second car over. 15 minutes of revving and trying to start it, it was obvious the battery was dead. The corrosion on the positive side was almost fungus like. After admitting defeat I literally ran 100 meters over to this Firestone around 645 pm. They were closing up but the lone mechanic had no problem jump starting my car with his portable self volt jump start, where we took it to the shop. Hoa was the person in charge at the front desk and he was very courteous and polite the entire time. He explained to me every thing that needed to be fixed, the reason why, and we both agreed a corrosion clean was necessary.I am a little surprised of the low reviews here based on the customer service. Maybe someone else was at the front office but Hoa was the definition of professionalism! I'm not a car expert by any means, but I can def say I would recommend this place based on its excellent customer service. read more

Worst tire buying experience ever! I went in looking for a new set of same tires. They quoted me a high price. Then I was walking out the door and they said they could do a little better. I showed them my last invoice from another tire store and said, "I'll get them if you can match that." The salesman advised it might be tough but he'd get manager approval. My invoice price knocked off about $20 per tire off their initial quote. They matched. The fun started after that. They told me I needed to get new TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system valves), which I didn't need yet. They asked if I wanted to get an alignment. I said no. They said, "You need to get an alignment, these are new tires." I had to say no a couple of more times. They didn't look happy that I didn't bite on the one time or the lifetime alignment. I took my new wheels out for a spin. To work. To the market. On the freeway. The steering column vibrated. I took the car back a week later at the end of the work day and told them they didn't balance it right. They asked, "Did you get it aligned? It's probably the alignment, you didn't get that done last time." I didn't think it was the alignment, but I bought the one time alignment. I waited an hour. Well, it wasn't the alignment. My steering wheel still shook. And as I suspected... IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO BALANCE TIRES! I took it back and said, "I told you last time it was the balancing you said your guys did the alignment and checked the tire balance. If that's the case, why is my steering wheel still shaking? Balance these things right!" They balanced my tires. I take a look and see the back tires haven't been balanced, they still have the clip on weights, not the stick on weights. I tell him they need to balance the back. He says, "Your car is fine, we balanced it, you don't need to do the back because it's front wheel drive." I say, "No, you need balance the back, because when I have these rotated at 6,000 miles, I'm going to have the same problem because you didn't balance it right in the first place!" This place is Course 101 on how not to run a business. Slow to price match, all upsell, attitude on service, and can't even do the initial job right while taking more of your money and not apologizing for their error. Getting new tires only needs to take 60-90 minutes and one visit. Not three visits and a reluctance to admit there's a problem, then not even fix the problem after it's found. He explained everything well since this was my first incident with tire repair. Sitting here going on 5 hours to get two tires fixed regardless of them having to order a minor part. The labor has taken longer than anywhere I've ever had my car serviced. Seems as if they are short staffed or not as prompt as they guarantee. I was told upon checkin that I would be here for 2-2.5 hours. Wouldn't be surprised if it's 6 hours at this point. Little to my knowledge at that time that I had 2 nails in 2 of my tires, i was only aware of the front one and ask the workers there to check and patch my tire. HE came back and said the nail in the front DID NOT affect my tire and i am good to go. He didn't even bother to check the rest of the tires. TODAY I FOUND OUT THERE IS A BIG NAIL IN MY REAR PASSENGER Tire, that almost caused me to crash. Oh boy DO NOT COME HERE FOR ALIGNMENT!! They dont know what they are doing here. Did my jeep alignment at the other firestone no issues, came back here just to check my toe again under warranty and been told they cant adjust the toe and its off, said my adjustable track bar is maxed out???? You serious? Afte 1hr of looking under my jeep they readjusted my track bar and now my axle is 1/2" off to one side, track bar has nothing to do with the toe!!! Track bar pushed my drag link so they readjusted steering to correct it but tie rods where never even touched!!! I came back home and re centered my axle my self and readjusted steering. Will go to a different location to check the toe again by people who actually know how to. What a joke.. read more

Always trying to hustle me when I go there. The only reason I go here is because my favorite Firestone (on Chapman and Brookhurst) is now closed down and this is the nearest location. I only go here when I don't have time to go a different location. Sadly a lot of Firestones have closed down leaving me with small options to choose. Every time I go to this one I have to put up with the guy (probably the manager) trying to pull a hustle on me and trying to convince me to buy unnecessary services. I came in for an oil change and to patch up one of my back tires. I expected fast service since the was only one person their before me. Not the case. It took over an hour and a half. Then the manager wants to upsell, which is expected but after a 5 minute spew he lets me know its gonna be 600 dollars for all these extra amenities and a set tires. I didn't ask for any of this, and expected to be out of there within 30 or 45 minutes. My suggestion to all oil change companies is this, listen to your customers demands. If you see something that might be needing a tune up or replacement, suggest it not demand your customers to pay hundreds of dollars for services they had no intention of buying. read more

I would give this place 0 star if it was an option. I came in for an oil change back in November 2019, and of course they told me a bunch of things were wrong with my 2015 vehicle. They rang me up for a new battery, oil filter cap, engine/cabin filters, etc. I came back for another oil change today and had to wait for over 5 hours. They told me that the oil filter cap they replaced last time was the wrong size and wanted to charge me again for the correct size. Horrible service! I came in to get my trunk checked because it wouldn't open. I serviced by Minh. After he inspected my car, he told me that there was some mechanical issue with my trunk. He told me that it would cost close to $250 to fix. After he fixed it, then he told me about the small button inside the glove compartment that turns the trunk on or off. He seemed reluctant to tell me and I asked him why he didn't tell me about the button beforehand. He stumbled through his words. I knew then that I was swindled. I had someone else check my trunk after and there was nothing wrong with it. It was just the button was turned off in my glove compartment. You would think that these types of things wouldn't happen at a company like Firestone but Minh is a crook and liar, a true detriment to such a company. He was real happy to put the charge on my firestone card to. What a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. Update: The manager gave me a call to see what happened in this situation. It went to vm, so I called him back. He said he'd call me back because he was busy. He never called back. The sad part of all this is that Asian mechanics like the guys that work here are known for being scam artists in the Asian community. They would have never tried to pull something like this off, it were another ethnicity. Shame you can't even trust your own people. read more

I reeeeallly wished I have read the reviews before I got my oil change here. I came in at 12 and my car is still being serviced and it's only 230 right now. Usually it takes less than 45 minutes at most.. That's just the wait only.. When I first arrived with my mom, she did all the talking because I didn't want to talk but after the first encounter I had to step in. My mom asked the guy for "dealer oil" along with her Vietnamese accent and all that, but it's how he reacted that pissed me off. They (my mom and the worker) were conversing in Vietnamese.. A language in which both are fluent in. Anyhoo, so the dude had the audacity to yell at my mom, not explained, but yell at her in a belittling tone saying things like "do you know your oils?" "There's no such thing as dealer oil" blah blah blah. And so I was like woah woah dude ya need to calm yourself! And I started to lash out and told him he needs to explain not yell and we obviously don't know oils that's WHY WE DONT WORK HERE. It's his duty to explain and further assist us not talking to us a demeaning tone.. Ugh Whatever, overall I say DO NOT COME HERE. I should have yelped before bringing my car for oil change. The reason I brought my car here cause its close to my house and thinking getting oil change while shopping at Target was very convenient. Anyways, I told the sales rep I only wanted oil change and asked about the waiting. He said it would take only 1,5 hrs. I gave them the key and walked to Walmart. It wasn't done in 1,5 hrs like the sales rep said but 3 hours :( . The price is quite expensive, $65 for synthetic oil change. When i picked up my car, the sales rep tried to convince me to get all my tires changed and all the other services (i don't remember) that would cost me $1000+. I just had service maintenance for my car only few months ago and i know I don't need those. He kept telling me he was giving me discounts on oil changes and my car problems needed to be fix ASAP. I was pretty upset of the waiting and this guy nonstop tried to sell me the services. So annoyed!!! I also found out my ex got me LIFETIME wheel/tire alignment service here couple years ago so unless I get a new car, I would have to bring my car here for this service :/ read more

This is my second time coming here and leaving here without my car even being looked at. The first time I came in was for an oil leak. They refused to look at my car and the employee Jack Phan states "since the cerritos location changed your oil last, then we can not touch it" (FOB TONE) I had to have my car TOWED from Garden Grove all the way to Cerritos. I was furious! Cause that was an expense i had to pay out of my pocket. I came back to the garden grove location with a nail in my tire and i have the roadside hazard warranty on my tires. I get there at 5:15pm. Then Jack Phan tells me they can not work on my car cause they are too busy and to come back tomorrow. I tell him " how am i going to come back tomorrow if i have a flat tire? I have a long way to drive home." He then tells me to go across the street to Just Tires and they can fix it for me. I was already pissed. So mad that the customer he was helping, offered to plug it for me. So I agreed and then Jack comes out and tells me "just go to our Chapman store down the street." I tell him " I'm just going to go across the street" I don't know why I went to that store a second time around thinking this ass was gonna change. At least he bothered to not smell anymore from my first visit to him. I called the Cerritos Location to confirm my warranty and he tells me I do have it and to talk to the Garden Grove store to ask them to reimburse me. I call and of course, Jack answers it, but not in a nice, customer friendly way. Instead, he is attacking me over the phone yelling " I never told you to go across the street. I told you to go to Chapman!" I was trying to be calm and I even told him that his tone was inappropriate, but he kept fighting me. I asked him for the corporate number and he yells back "its on the receipt i gave you!" I yell back saying he never even wrote me up" then he yells "well you went to the cerritos store before right? check on that receipt." I asked for his name and of course he spelled it wrong. Good thing I took a picture of his name tag the first time I came in. I called the corporate office this morning (800-367-3872) and spoke with Nathan who was more than apologetic with my situation. He spoke with the manager Andy of the Garden Grove Location and he was too busy for a conference call. So Nathan told me that the manager said to go there for the reimbursement and to ask for Andy. If there is any problems to call them again and they will take it up with the district office. Of course I call and I speak with Andy who said he never said anything about a reimbursement. He just said that he will do a better job next time. I called the corporate office again and spoke with Rea who is now taking this case up with the district and to investigate this issue. They should of known better to mess with this Yelp-er! *********************************************************** As a result, today the store manager Andy calls me to tell me that Jack Phan was suspended for one day and that he apologizes for his attitude towards me. read more
