My brakes undoubtedly needed to be changed when I brought the car in for a safety check and I expected that to come up. But it was braking just fine. Took the car in. Employee Ken was friendly and seemed legit. NOPE. When I got my car back, no brakes. No ebrake!!! Scared to death, my husband and I brought it back. Ken and my husband ended up in a yelling match. Ken admitted that the mechanic altered something to get the drums back on the car. At one point Ken shoulder checked my husband, but then backed up when my husband called him on it and offered a 50% discount on brakes. That's when we got it! They did this to force us to buy brakes! The end result is that they gave us our car back in ore inspection condition and I took the car somewhere else to repair the brakes. 1st came her on a Saturday around 12. Told it would be a few hours to have a nail removed from a tire. Sure no problem go somewhere else i get it. Came here a few months later this time a flat tire from nail but this time at 7am only the second customer in line, again was told a few hours. Again from the same old guy. And wanted to charge me $30. Went to Les Schwab off Elk grove Blvd near auto row they got me in and out under 45 mins. For free. Definitely a poorly managed place. No I didn't want anything free. But do expect to pay for high quality and customer service. This visit was neither. If you think reasonable is waiting a few hours for a flat tire when you get their earlier so you don't have to wait and then pay $30 for for 10 min or less of work is reasonable then this place is for you. read more

Just really not satisfied with the service. Made an appointment at 1, said 2.30 it will be done. Get a call at 2.15 - "your car is missing oil cap" I call back at 2.30 - "is it done?", "no its being worked on because it needs the oil cap to do the oil change" So 2 things went wrong here. TIMING. People run on time so get it done when you're supposed to get it done. Second would be how the hell do i have a missing oil cap. One of life's mysteries. I took my daughter's car in for a front wheel alignment, oil change and replacement of four tires and was pleasantly pleased at the great customer service and prompt attention provided by Ken, the manager of the store. Ken is rebuilding the store with his own positive customer service values and was very courteous. He explained a problem with the linkage and gave us the diagnosis and planned repair strategy as well as the price and any other options. His repairs were timely and have withstood the test of the first two weeks of driving - usually a giveaway if there was a problem! Ken explained the various differences in price and quality between the tires and led the customer through the decision making process for a selection that met the price constraints with the best affordable quality. Two stars since my car was taken care of quickly. I did not appreciate that they did not listen to what I'd wanted. I went in for a quick oil change and wanted to use a coupon for the synthetic blend for $25. They told me they wouldn't do that, and I had to pay $80 for full synthetic, which my car has never taken. Warning:long post For me to say that racism is dead or doesn't exist would be a fairytale that the media wants us to believe. However, I never expected to be treated be treated with such blatant racism, in California. Especially not in the town where I grew up. However, I experienced it today. I went to firestone to get an alignment and oil change, for my upcoming venture. When I walk in there are only 2 people in the lobby. It took the workers at least 7 mins to even acknowledge the fact that I came in. The girl( I didn't see her name tag) came in and said " Can I help you?" But she obviously did not want to help me. I asked for an oil change and alignment. She scoffs and says" Are you leaving it here or are you staying with your vehicle" very sarcastically. I asked how long was the wait, she says 2 and a half to three hours. ( two people, not of my color, in the lobby. One car being worked on, 4 workers ) as I'm leaving she offers an appointment. In a sarcastic tone again, needless to say, I left because they obviously didn't want to help me. I left crying and cried all the way home. It sucks that us, as black people, can't even do day to day shit, without being profiled. I hate I have to raise my children in this place. read more

I went to Firestone today because I found a great coupon for brake service. I wasn't sure if my breaks needed service, but they were making some noise. First of all, the staff was extremely curteous, knowledgeable, and most importantly, they were honest! They didn't pressure me into anything, but rather, explained to me what might benefit me, then let me make the decision... and it turns out my breaks were fine after all. Being a young female who is not a car expert, I know I am usually a "target" for auto places to try an sell me things and pressure me into repairs by exaggerating isuues with my car. Not only can I usually see through this, but it is offensive. In fact it happened just this morning. I went to get my oil changed elsewhere, and they tried to sell me on quite a few items. I figured I'd have Firestone take a second look, and they revealed (unintentionally) that I had been lied to by the other shop. Additionally, they offerend the same brake service at half the price of the other place! There were several opportunities for the staff at Firestone to try and fake me out and sell me things (like with the free brake inspection, by exaggerating or making up brake problems so I would buy the service), but they didn't! In fact, they took the time to explain the answers to every question I asked, so not only was I comfortable in giving them a sale I probably wouldn't have otherwise, but I also am happy to come back for future service! Also, don't let the location of this place turn you off. It is in a somewhat seedy part of town, and because of that I almost didn't come. However, I am so happy I came, because I am pleased with their curteous service and honest and knowledgeable staff. I definitely recommend them if you want to go somewhere you can trust. read more

I went to the Firestone on Marconi to have my faulty battery (that I bought there and was still under warranty) replaced. They told me there was nothing wrong with it. The next day I took the car to this location, and they immediately told me that yes, the battery was faulty, and replaced it for me. They charged me a $15 service charge even though the battery was under warranty, but I was just glad they replaced it at all. Also, I got lost on the way and one of the employees stayed on the phone with me for several minutes to ensure that I found my way there. I wish I'd taken his name, he was awesome! read more

Here on NYE thinking it'd be a quick stop to check on a tire that's been low on air pressure. Have been having to pump it once a week. There's no nail or puncture of any kind. First time at any Firestone (thought to give them a try) and an hour later, I'm still waiting for a tire. Come to find out they were taking their time to do a full inspection to give me a laundry of suggested "fixes." Most of which were nothing urgent. I partially understand the up-sell part of the business, but no one comes in for a partially-flat tire wants to wait an hour to hear a bunch of non-urgent matters of your car on NYE. I originally went to another tire company, and they said it would be a three hour wait for someone to come out and look at my tire. Yet there was barley any cars being looked at or worked on. I called firestone and as soon as I pulled in they had someone looking at my car, and tire. Within 5 minutes my car was on the lift and my tire was being fixed. I want to thank the great folks at Firestone located in the Fruitridge Shopping Center in Sacramento. My daughter's car wouldn't start. I had to call for a tow. They towed it over to Firestone and Firestone immediately replaced the battery, windshield wipers, made sure they worked all within the hour. This was on a Sunday. I had no appointment. I just crossed my fingers. I was able to use my Wheelworks account to cover the cost, because I was not with her in Sacramento. I was 2 hours away and had to do all of this over the phone. Ok. So I bought a used 2009 Subaru Outback with about 116,000 miles on her. I started to hear a weird clanking sound soon after I bought it- and Firestone was open on a Sunday, so I brought her to the for inspection. I also asked them to look everything over and make sure I didn't have a complete lemon on my hands. An hour and 20 bucks later- they could tell me she was in generally good shape, the clanking was probably a loose strut plate (that I could ignore until it got much worse), and that I MUST change my tires/ timing belt, and should probably do a few other things. Ken, the lovely gentleman I dealt with, really assuaged my fears about this car, and didn't try to upsell me on repairing things that DID NOT NEED REPAIRING. So, I brought her back to them a week later to do the timing belt and the tires. She was done in a day, which I thought was remarkable. Ken may have lectured me- gently- about tire care (which, honestly, I needed). I was off shortly after- only to drive ten miles and have her completely overheat with steam billowing out from under the hood. The horror. Truly. I called Ken at 8 AM the next morning, and he told me to have her towed in immediately. Even offered to deduct the cost of towing from repairs if I had to pay for anything extra. When they looked at my Subaru again- they found her thermostat completely stuck and unable to do it's job. Ken and his team were beyond sweet with my very stressed out and sad self- they gave me a new thermostat + labor for no extra charge. Their repairs are guaranteed, but I can imagine less wonderful humans trying to argue that the thermostat had nothing to do with the other repairs they'd done to my car. None of that B.S. took place here. When you walk into this place- customers of 15+ years are joking with the staff. I heard a woman affectionately call Ken "Love" this morning. Honestly, between my experience and the community that obviously feels like they're safe, respected, and well-served here, I don't think I'll be going anywhere else in Sacramento with my Surbaru. read more

This place is one of the best businesses I have ever been in. They went above and beyond anything I could imagine. I was traveling and had an accident that caused damage to all four tires and all four rims. The called around to get the cheapest rental car for me, hid my dog, and stayed after hours for my return with a rental truck. They unloaded all the things I was taking from my parents house to my house (we are moving them to assisted living). They made sure everything was secure, using multiple bungie cords. The car will be ready tomorrow. They called to tell me it needed a new alignment and I told them when I bought the original tires I also purchased the lifetime warranty. They found it and will start working on it ASAP. They also took the amount of wear still left on the tires and applied it to the new tires, reducing my cost. Everyone was exceptional nice, helpful, went out of their way for me. I would love to give ten stars to Travis who helped me out the most. I do not live in Sacramento. I live in the Bay Area. I was alone (except for my dog) and scared and they took care of everything. For all the people who have given them a negative review, try them again. They are well worth a second visit. read more

To Whom it May Concern, I am writing you regarding a situation that occurred this past March. I apologize for not writing sooner, as we had discussed, but I have still been dealing with repercussions from a simple oil change that was botched at your location all the way up to this last week. Last March you accidentally put the WRONG OIL FILTER on my car. Despite the system you state you have in place to check and recheck your work, the incorrect filter was installed on my 2004 Pontiac Aztec. It FELL OFF when i was about an hour away in El Dorado Hills while I was hauling my trailer on my way to a major work event. After waiting 6 hours for your facility to open and make arrangements, my car and trailer were towed to the El Dorado Hills Facility, nearly an hour from my home in Rio Linda. Missing my entire weekend of work and a potentially very profitable event, I was no only inconvenienced and suffered a loss of over 8 hours of my time that day, but also suffered monetary damages for lost inome for the weekend, when I make the bulk of my income. My sister, who had been diagnosed with Stage 4 Inflammatory Invasive Breast cancer in November, had just completed a chemo treatment and had to drive all the way to El Dorado Hills to pick me up. Several days later, when my Aztec was ready to drive, she had to drive to Rio Linda and pick me up, then drive back up the hill an hour to pick up my vehicle. This resulted in costs to her of time and gas. They did not have time to clean the oil which had sprayed all over my engine, so I was instructed to contact a mobile detailer when I arrived home. I did so, and he arrived the following weekend in the morning to complete the cleaning before I once again went to work and make money. Unfortunately when he was cleaning the engine, a belt completely fell off of my engine, due to oil glazing. Again, I lost income as well as time when my vehicle was once again out of commission and I had to cancel deliveries for the weekend while it was towed to your facility for repairs. I not only suffered a loss of time once again, and loss of gas money to come and get my vehicle, but again also suffered monetary damages as I was unable to work that weekend once again. A week or so later, as I was pulling into a Drive Thru, the check oil pressure light came on in my vehicle once again. I immediately backed out of the drive through and parked my vehicle and called you. I was advised to restart the car and attempt to drive it to your location, which I did - cancelling a day of work at the shop in Roseville incurring further monetary losses as well as gas and time expense. At this time, you procured a vehicle from Enterprise Rent A Car for me to use while you diagnosed my vehicle. You were unable to determine any issues with my vehicle or explain to me why the light had come back on. I had to spend time to call Enterprise several times over the course of the next few weeks waiting for my deposit to be released back into my account. Waiting for your payment. I called your shop and was assured the payment would be made. I was inconvenienced by having my money on hold and unavailable to me for weeks. And in my business, not having capital to invest and flip costs me profits. I had hoped that that would be the end of this sad story. Unfortunately, it was not. I went to Enterprise Rent A Car to rent a vehicle to drive to Arizona and visit my mother - partially because I doubted the reliability of my vehicle because of concerns over having another oil pressure issue while alone in the dessert - when I was told that I had been placed on a DO NOT RENT list because of an unpaid balance from March. Your unpaid balance. I do not, to this day, even know if my deposit was ever refunded to my account. The plan for my trip was to rent a car, at great expense, and drive to Bakersfield where I had reserved a room at a hotel so that myself and my 2 year old daughter, travelling alone, could safely reach our destination and be in the hotel before dark. Instead of this, I was stuck at the Enterprise Rent A Car location for HOURS waiting for their collections department to communicate with your people, arrange and receive payment and for the DO NOT RENT to be cleared from the system so that the car could be rented to me. My roommate and my daughter had to sit in the car waiting during all of this - which, if you have a young child, you know is NOT the way you want to start a long car trip with a two year old. During the course of attempting to clear this from my record, Enterprise rented someone else my reserved vehicle. Because of that, I had to accept a larger vehicle that I did not want and pay the additional gas for the long drive. I've been going to Firestone since I've owned my car. Spent far over what my car is worth at this place every time I go they recommend more and more just to keep their business open. Only reason I still go is to use my lifetime alignment and warranty on the tires I bought there. Today I went in to get a flat tire fixed under my tire warranty 2.5 hrs later they get it done on my suggested repair they tell me my tires have uneven wear and that's due to poor alignment which I only go to Firestone for. The people running the front counter don't seem to know much about quality work being done at their shop. Once I have to get new tires for my car I'll take my business elsewhere for good. read more

I took my truck in because the check engine light was on saying code p0430 catalist system efficiency below threshold bank 2, so I want them to check out the oxygen sensors & exhaust system so they said we'll run a diagnostics it took them 2 days never called me I called both days and then on 2nd day they said there's no engine light or codes like no shit it sat there for 2 days when I checked out my vehicle I believe they just disconnected the power because the radio, trip a odometer, clock was all rested AND I Really Got Charge for a diagnostic when i believe they didn't do anything.....I don't know what happened to this place it used to be great and efficient but I now understand now why my brother household, mothers household, & now mine will not be bringing our business here again read more

I have been coming to this Firestone for years and always got stellar service. Then they changed management and the level of customer service has progressively gotten worse and worse. I have three vehicles I bring in on a national fleet account. I drop off a car on a Thursday or Friday and they can't even call me with a status update by close of business Sunday? Pathetic. The only reason I keep going back is because of the convenience of location and they are familiar with the car. So I thought I had an appointment for a battery check...either I didn't confirm it correctly on their website or the site had a glitch either way I was taken care of right away. I felt welcomed! Although I received bad news for my alternator, I did receive hopeful news for the battery. They went over all recommendations that left me feeling I made the right decision coming here. While I was there they took care of an oil change & replaced my windshield wipers &&& found coupons for me to save on both! On Friday my Dad who is almost 80 and his wife who is 75 were driving from Solvang to see me in Elk Grove. As soon as the got on I.5 their a/c gave out. They spent 3 hours driving in 100 degree temps with no AC. Saturday morning we googled AC repair and Firestone Complete Auto popped up. The EG store machine was down so we called Sac. Luckily for my parents Ken answered the phone. We explained to him what happened and he said to bring it down. The team in the store was great. My Dad has trouble hearing and they quickly adjusted their voice so he could hear everything. They called within a half hour of the time they promised and told my Dad their findings. By 4 o'clock my folks were back on the road with a full repair. I can not tell you how much I appreciate Ken and his team. They were precessional, kind and patient as well as providing EXCELLENT customer service. If I need future things done with my car I will happily drive the 22 miles from my home to have Ken and his team work on my car. read more
