The technician went over it very thoroughly. For a 15-year-old truck it should not need that thorough of a check and everything new for replacement parts. The total price was a lot higher than the car dealerships price. It took 4 and a half hours total. Way too long. The best part is that I was not charged anything. Reason for three stars. read more

Went to get a car care package done, it was $9.99 and I sat for 4 hours with 1 hour seeing the car on the lift not being inspected and another hour seeing it sat outside with nothing being done with my order. I had a description for the issue that I was asking them to look at, they said they could check it out but if the issue is internal with the transmission it'll have to be $120, but how will they tear apart and find a transmission issue for that amount? Anyway after waiting I asked for my car back and they didn't have the report written up at all, which also meant I had to stay there longer than I wanted and the report had nothing to do with what I asked and I saw they didn't even measure the pads yet they were on there. My wife took in our truck for oil change and when they were finished with it the main screen didn't turn on. When we went back they said we needed new batteries cause the ones we had wasn't producing enough voltages and that's why it wasn't working so we purchased new batteries from them. When they were done the screen still wouldn't turn on so there next excuse was that there's been recall on the trucks and wouldn't take responsibility for it and told her they wouldn't fix it. read more

I came to Firestone for a second opinion, thinking they would offer a more decent price than the dealership. However, they majorly up-charged by several hundred dollars. Held on to my car for 10 hours when initially I was told it would be a 2 hour wait for a simple diagnosis. They said I needed an oil change, and I just had one about 1 week prior. There are much better options out there. Please do your research and definitely shop around. Compare notes from both and don't fall for their BS. read more

They attempted to re fill with a generic transmission fluid and we said absolutely not. subaru has a certain type they use on their vehicles so we said we wanted the car towed considering we could not drive the vehicle. Nick the service writer, Juan and Jonathan the technician helped me this afternoon, so that I can be back on the road tomorrow early morning. If there is 10 Stars available here on Yelp, I would put it for them! So here is the story! I was driving on Wurzbach Parkway this noon time, and left wheels went over a huge ditch at 80 miles an hour, that instantly threw off the alignment on my truck. Because I have to leave town tomorrow morning at 7 am for business trip, so that means I need to try to get the alignment done, or else I will be driving the truck with new tires that are less than 5000 miles for the next 1000 miles road trip with bad alignment. On typical Saturday at 2:30pm, it's late, and I called this location and expecting that they might not be able to help me, sure they will have cars lined up waiting for services just like me. Over the phone Nick asked what are the things I need them to work on, then he went and checked their schedule and asking if I can come right away and leave my truck till 7pm, so they can have it work on after other appointments. I rushed over and got here around 30 minutes after the call, and they do have lots of cars in line waiting for service, and Nick assured me again that they can have my truck ready for me at 7pm. I had to wait there because I had no other rides to take me home, then I heard they were having conversations with two customers who had extra problems that came unexpectedly, so it did slow down their work, but because of this, I saw the details that they are looking out for the customers, and that is not simply because they want to make money off you, I can see that the guys they cared about the customers, that is why they go beyond. As to my truck, I bought the Lift Time Alignment, plus the same for tires rotate, mount and balance. So I didn't have to pay extra while here doing the service, just had to pay the oil change. Guess what, because the guys promised they will get me out by 7pm, the delays of other jobs made them stayed till 8pm to finish up the work for my truck, I really appreciate how they are taking care their customers. I do suggest that everyone to come and ask for Nick, he is great guy and will do his best to assist your need. read more

This is gonna be a slightly different review. I got some great deals on fixing a tire, and lifetime alignments. Service was great and I was out the shop at a reasonable time. About a couple days ago I got my battery replaced after a battery light appeared on my dash. With my prior knowledge of knowing my used/new car had a battery that didn't quite support that car. I was sure it was just the battery. I drove out and later to find out my battery light came back on. Diagnosed my car all day and was sure it was the alternator now. I woke up earlier today on 6/1. My car started (Thank God) and was able to make it to the shop (Again Thank God). Let's see if it was the alternator and if any other issues arise. I'll be editing this review after they finish the labor on my car. All problems are taken care of. Brand new battery and alternator got installed. My chrysler is running smoother than before. Thanks guys! I would 10/10 hit firestone up for any car issues you might have. read more

My husband bought a car from this lot, and only less than a month it broke down. We took it back to get fixed, they kept the car for over a month. Gave it back to us after charging so much more, on replacing the alternator. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They told us that the reason they were taking this long was because they were waiting on the order to arrive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After a week from picking it up the car died again! We've replaced the battery with a new one, so we knew it couldn't be the battery, we replaced the alternator, so we knew it couldn't be that! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They kept the car a little over a month and finally when we kept calling they told us they couldn't do anything because it's electrical and they don't do electrical stuff there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We've since spent over $3000 and the issue still there! We can't park the car for more than 2 days or the battery is drained! SMH, They sold us a bad fk car and they knew it too... People please don't spend your hard earned money here! BTW we did take it to another shop and they told us that the alternator was painted and not new at all, the new mechanic showed us the old alternator So that means they charged us $800 for the car just sitting there. My initial phone call was to Zon was about my vehicle having a misfire and changing out items pertaining to tune up and also burning a lot of oil. The result of my $90 diagnostic was that the intake manifold was full of debris and it needed a valve cover and gasket. Her her request, I made a list of the issues regarding the misfire leaking oil and codes that were present. 17 days and almost 1,200 later, for a job that was listed for only 3 hours, my car had the same issues burning, burning oil and misfire. I sent her pictures of the leaky valve cover gasket and told her I was having the same issues and was told by Christy to bring the car in. I work in Del Rio so I would have to leave the vehicle in the parking lot on Sunday for them so when I called and left a message that I would be doing that. The call took a bad direction when Zon began to say initially there was no mentioning of misfire codes only of leaking oil. She began to take a different direction by saying no mentioning of the misfires, which she blatantly lied. So that I could put more money into her pocket if it was another misfire issue. I told her it had misfires prior to the work done because the oil was leaking into the spark plug chamber and it's doing so again. They did not fix my vehicle. I told her not to f*** with my money, she says don't get ghetto on me, I in turn said, "oh and you're so godly, you are a f****** thief"!! And of course she hung up. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP. And to top it off her husband couldn't even do a simple valve cover and gasket job. And I will post this review on all the social platforms and have filed a complaint through BBB of San Antonio. Nothing is worse than a fake godly person. read more

Today, after 5 p.m., I stopped in this location for service and waited at the counter. It took a few minutes for the service advisor, who was staring at his cell phone, to acknowledge me and when he did he said he was sorry and had mistaken me for another customer (presumably of the same race) who had a vehicle in the shop. When I told the service advisor why I was there he said he didn't have the mechanics for the job and advised returning tomorrow. Instead I went to a competitor shop and had my vehicle repaired there. My prior experiences with this location had been satisfactory, and I hope this doesn't reflect on the quality of the shop's service now. read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME! This Firestone shop is absolutely terrible! I took my car for alignment and wheel balance and after the "performed" the service my car's alignment was totally of (worse than when I took it in) and the steering wheel was not set straight. It was a good 15 to 20 degrees to the right, so to make the car go straight I had to keep the wheel as if I was turning to the left lane and as soon as I would let the steering wheel go the car would pull really hard to the right, making the car change lanes. When I went back to the shop to address the issue, I was treated like I was a crazy person. The guy who "helped" me was named Mike and has been the rudest most condescending person I have dealt with. He immediately placed the blame on me saying that I must've hit a pot hole or a curb. I stayed this was not the case and he replied "well that's what you say, but we're not responsible for it". This was two days after taking it the to the shop and I hadn't really even driven the car. I also said I was going out of town and would be driving on the freeway and that it was a safety hazard. He practically laughed at my face saying that it was no safety hazard, that he had a car that he drove with a crooked steering wheel for years and nothing happened to him. Is this the kind of reply someone working at an auto care shop? He never apologized, and said we'll we can take a look at it but it will take me 2.5 hours minimum to get to it and then however long it takes my technicians to fix the issue. I asked if he could expedite things since I had already taken the car there and they didn't do their job correctly and was told he wouldn't skip any customers that were waiting because it would be rude! I had to contact customer service line to get help with issue. The agent that helped me was able to get me into another Firestone store less than two miles away where they fixed the issue in 25 minutes. I will NEVER go to Babcock Firestone Auto Care ever again and will make sure to share this review everywhere online so other people avoid getting treated like I was... belittled, mocked, and discriminated. I am currently waiting for corporate to contact me to finalize ah resolving this issue because Babcock store had the galls to tell corporate that they had already called me and offered me a fee oil change to make up for my issue. An oil change to fix an alignment issue? What kind of shop are you running. All lies and scams to get money from people. I observed another device agent treating another customer similarly. So my tires were low on air, and I did the right thing and took out the air checker thing and then added more air, but then I didn't know if I put enough in and I was tired of hanging upside down trying to see the tool. So I finally get back in my car, but the little light for the tire check was still on. SIGH.... so I called Firestone to ask if they would be available to check my tires and help me get the right amount of air in them. The man on the phone was very friendly and assured me that he would be able to get me in. When I arrived, the staff greeted me and quickly had my pull my car in. The worker, helped me fix the air situation in about 2 minutes, and there was no hassle, no charge, and I will definitely be coming back for future car and tire needs. Worst experience ever. Went in originally to get new tires. One of the employees informs me that a fan is broken and needs to be replaced before it hits the radiator. After inquiring about the cost he tells me it would be $445 total. When I tell him I won't be able to afford the tires anymore they fail to tell me that I could simply bring in my own part. When I asked for an itemized list of the charges I see the fan assembly is charged at $275.99. Come to find out the fan is priced for $100 everywhere else. Never go here for any type of service. Every time I take my car in there's magically a new problem that cost me $500+. My right front control arm was what I needed fixed when I went into the store a month ago, nothing was wrong with the left one. I brought it back in today because the RIGHT one was still making knocking noises. However the mechanics are saying it's my left one and that it was my left one last month as well they just went ahead and replaced my right one even though there was "nothing wrong with it." They are trying to take my money because the right one is under warranty and they'd have to fix it for free. Never go here for any type of service. I love Firestone. I recently moved to Texas and was glad to see there was a Firestone nearby. I had a concern about my Jeep's engine noises, and the kind workers at the Firestone on Babcock took the time to inspect my car and replicate and explain the noises to me completely free of charge. This last week, I was having issues with my battery. I had no doubt that Firestone would be able to take care of my Jeep. They replaced the battery, tuned up a few other things, and kept me updated and confident in their expertise throughout the process. The employees at this Firestone location are consistently caring and patient, and I can't imagine going to a different shop to have my Jeep serviced. Bonus is their location is right next to a Starbucks, which is the perfect place to wait. Thank you guys for all your hard work and everything you do for your customers!!! read more

The reason I give this Firestone location 4 Stars is because of the manager - Jay King. He is a super friendly and reasonable manager, and he really cares about the customers and ensuring you have the best experience. I have been here twice now. The first time I went, I had an awful experience: I went in for an oil change, and they didn't let me use the online coupon because it was supposed to be "printed", and on top of that, my car started steaming the next day. So I went back in, and they realized that they had left the cap off of my engine for the oil change! When I spoke with Jay about it, he was really upset for me and did a great job with damage control. He ended up giving me a free oil change for next time card, that I used on my second visit. With the second visit, I didn't have any problems and didn't have to wait long. So even though the Firestone may have its typical mechanical mess-ups of any Auto shop, the manager more than makes up for the headache because you know he won't try to rip you off or pass blame on to someone or something else, which isn't common nowadays. read more

I have been a long-term Firestone customer snd have received consistently good customer service at each location (I have visited locations in Nebraska, South Carolina, and Texas). However this locations service left me most impressed. I came in for a routine oil change however once I returned home I noticed the technician also reconnected my splash guard which was hanging down (I would like to mention that I attemtoed to fix this myself a few days prior but used the wrong size retainers and had plans to purchase the correct size later today). Such a simple way to go above and beyond; unexpected buy most appreciated. Additionally, I made an online appointment and although that process wasn't satisfactory as it seems the online system doesn't communicate effectively with the physical store, the team found a way to reschedule my appointment with little impact to my schedule. I will certainly make this my primary Firestone location while here in San Antonio. read more

Very kind and respectable staff. Brought my Forester in for some last minute maintenance as I was passing through San Antonio on a road trip, and they did me a huge favor by squeezing me into their schedule. They solved some major problems including replacing a cracked axle, solving some brake issues, etc. I definitely felt my car was in safer condition than before I brought it in...perhaps not in optimal condition though. For example, my traction control feature somehow got disabled, which they offered to take a look at the next day, but I had to leave town that day and figured I could get this fixed later. Within reason, they replaced my tires too due to diminished treads. However, I'm unsure if the TPMS was installed correctly because my tire pressure emergency light eventually turned solid bright and a Firestone in Florida wasn't able to identify any leaks in the tires. I hope I'm not over exaggerating the issue, because I was a mechanic before and it's hard to pinpoint the cause of certain problems. One thing that perhaps could have been avoided though, is that I noticed that my brake fluid and power steering fluid were over serviced. It wasn't to the point of spilling though, so I left it alone, but they were well above their "hot maximums" when the engine was cold. I also had some difficulties getting a refund for a veterans discount, which I forgot to ask for during check out. I would have let it slide, but the bills weren't especially cheap. It took a couple of days to solve due to a lack of training. And eventually I had to file a complaint to corporate. Then I was introduced to their team member, Madison, who demonstrated outstanding company knowledge and was able to process that for me immediately. Roy's also very cool, and I could tell he was sincere in trying to help me out as much as he could! read more

Here's the deal, I looked around to get my spark plugs w/ ignition coils replaced and parts alone are $260 or much less depending where you look. They quoted me over $900 for the parts and service. Anyone can do the job for less than $140 (excluding parts) as it's not difficult. Nearly $700 in manual labor for a job that can take less than hr to do is absurd. I was asked about replacing a wiper blade. I knew one needed to be replaced. I mentioned the passenger side one was no good. When I came in to pick up the vehicle, the rear blade was replaced. I did not need the rear blade replaced. So, they replaced both front blades. For three wiper blades and two air filters I was charged two hundred and sixty-six dollars. I've been coming to this location for years, but my family and I will not be coming back. There is an honest man down the road by the name of Chad Miller. It's worth the 10 day wait to get into his shop so we don't get ripped off by the likes of this location again in the future. The retail price of the parts are maybe forty dollars. There was not two hundred and twenty dollars of labor. Complete nonsense. Furthermore, the technician called me to tell me that there was not much tread left on my tires. I've put less than 10,000 miles on these tires (which I purchased at this exact location) that were advertised as rated for 100,000 miles. No more Firestone/Bridgestone tires for me - this was the one and only time I tried this inferior product. It's only Goodyear, Kumho, or Pirelli - I've had great experiences with these brands. read more
