Never coming back to this location for maintenance, it took over 5 hours for an oil change and I asked them if they could see why the check engine light is on and their answer was no. Apparently they need a "master" technician to look into that, whatever that means. The only reason I came here is because I'm not paying for maintenance on my work vehicle. very simple fix I needed my lower left control on my axle replaced my struts and the sway bar on the driver side. Drove my car in there just fine left it there for about a week throughout this week I was in constant communication with Will Chapman and Thomas Ramos when I gave them the go-ahead to do the work I get a call the very next day them telling me my car doesn't start neither remind you that I brought it in for my tire I was basically at these men's Mercy because I just came here from out of state, my car has out of state license plates, at that point in time they had told me that my car hasn't started all week that it's been there and they've been pushing it in and out of the garage all week my question to them was why didn't anybody contact me and let me know my car didn't start? The Manager Paulus Mardechia brushed my question off and told me let's stop beating a dead horse because They didn't have any answer for me they said no one knew I said someone had know it took two people to push the car in and out and you were doing this all week. so I let them fix my starter because I felt like I didn't have any choice. When I went to pick up my car it didn't start they had to come out and jump my car for it to start I then asked for the original starter and I brought it over to O'Reilly's to have it tested they ran a bench test three different times in the starter passed all 3 times!! I then had them test my battery and my battery passed. I went back to Firestone and they refuse to take any accountability for this I am very upset and I do plan to file a complaint not only with their corporate office but the better Business bureau I feel like I was totally mistreated at the Firestone on Babcock they lied to me and when I called and told them it was okay to do the work at that point in time they should have told me that my starter didn't work but instead they decided to do all the work that I approved and then turn around and tell me the starter didn't work which in fact there is nothing wrong with my original starter says the bench test I feel I'm owed a full refund for all the work that was put in on my starter the part and the labor read more

Went in just do do a state Inspection, for some reason took them about 30 mins to do it after getting my car. Once they're done, the sales associate Fred told me they had to fail it because one of my tires supposedly wasn't aligned with the rest. Tried to tell me it would be $121 (doesn't tell me that he's adding the warranty to it without asking me) and is also marking up the price a silly amount. I leave and go to Take 5 and am done with the inspection and magically pass it for $7. The sales people here will lie to you to try and up sell you assuming that you know nothing about cars, beware or be taken advantage of. read more

I'll give them 3 stars because the price was good and the work they did was good. Where they lost me is with the service. I was looking for two new, affordable tires and Firestone had the best deal so I picked them. When I went I explained I wasn't in a rush, but I wanted to know roughly how long it would take so I could decide what to do. I could've gone home, hung out with friends, etc. depending on the timing. The man told me it would be an hour wait and then 30 minutes to put the tires on. As I result I decided to hang out in the area. 2 hours later I call to check on my car and was told that it still hadn't been looked at and would be an additional 2 and a half hours wait. I had my mom pick me up and the man lied and said he told me it was busy and that there would be a wait, but he didn't acknowledge the fact that he told me an hour and a half. Then, he said that it WOULDN'T be a 2 and a half hour wait, that they mixed my car up with another one, which is BS because they asked for my name before giving me the time quote. In the end it took a total of 4 hours for my two tires to be replaced, which I could've been fine with had I been told that at the beginning so I could decide if I wanted to wait that long and plan my day accordingly. I was happy with the price and looking forward to returning for my other two tires in two weeks (along with a wheel alignment), but the poor service has me questioning whether or not I will go there. Came in on the May 11th for a vehicle inspection, they did a state inspection in stead. It was the manager I dealt with. Came in 3 times to get the paper work for the vehicle inspection signed, the manager never mentioned it being a separate price. I'm now her a 4th time being charged for another inspection and for 2 lug nuts to be replaced that have mysterious been stripped within the last 4 days. The manager is treating me like an idiot and said he can't finish the inspection until I agree to replace and can't let me take my car until it's replaced because I can't drive it. After 15 mins and and call to corporate the price has been dropped from $90 to $70 for the lug nuts. Now it's been 25 minutes and the manager has decided to not charge me and is now replacing it on them. No apology, nothing. read more

We hit the road and immediately noted a sharp pull making us question whether they did anything but change us. THIS location was so helpful. We called and asked if they could help us. We brought the car in right after (on a Saturday). They said they will figure out the issue, free of charge. An hour later the job was done! The alignment is PERFECT. OMG these guys are the best! I am originally from Wi where the Firestone there is not trustworthy and hella shady. My mom got ripped off a lot and they caused more damages on purpose 4 continued maintenance, but I had an emergency at Port Aransas where my car was sinking in the tide & some lovely Texans pulled us gals out, BUT afterwards my car started shaking violently. It was scary with nothing open or nearby and were 3 hrs away from San Antonio. We decided to drive like a grandma & haul it back. I am freaking out that it was a bad "tow" job and broke anxles or worse transmission and I called KIA since my car still under warranty who told me service appointments are booked until 1.5 months.....ummm no! So my has used FireStone here and I called them. The guys were very nice & understanding & told me to bring it in last minute! We arrived 5 mins before close & called them to warn them & they said NP & told us they'd be there 5 extra minutes. So I explained my situation & they looked at my car Sunday & gave me the best news: Car is fine just has sand packed which is throwing my balance off! Phew! And a complete inspection was only $10 whaaaaa. Just wow! Not only are they cuties lol! But professional, kept me updated, did not treat me like a dumb bimbo just like a customer & human being. I have been to this location three times in the last six months and have had three pretty bad experiences. In hindsight, I feel silly for having kept coming back but it is located so conveniently close to my house... 1) The first time (August), my husband and I were looking to buy tires here but after weighing all of our options we decided to go with discount tire instead. Before we could leave, however, we got absolutely harassed by the employees at firestone, they tried to make us feel really stupid for not going with their tires. It was beyond unprofessional. 2) Second, I took my car in for an oil change a few months later in October and when I got back in my car there was lemonade everywhere! (I had left a chick-fil-a cup with the lid ON in a cup holder). I had to go back inside and ask for towels. Luckily a worker helped me clean it up but they should have cleaned it up before giving my car back or at least told me about it instead of leaving me to discover the mess on my own. 3) Today (February) I took my husbands truck in for an oil change and the estimated wait was about 45 minutes. Two hours later, I'm still in the waiting room, waiting for them to bring out my keys and pay for the service. I got up and awkwardly waited by the counter trying to hint I needed to talk to somebody, and after about 15 minutes of being ignored I had to go past the "do not enter" sign into the service area and ask about my truck. The worker half-heartedly apologized and said "you should have told me earlier, I thought you were waiting for a different car." Um, WHAT. Oh yes, I should have notified YOU that MY truck was ready. Of course, my bad. Seriously folks, save yourself the hassle and drive 5 minutes down the road to a place with better service!!! read more

The man at the counter "Robert" recommended I replace my air and cabin filters. I had personally replaced those less than a month ago. My filters didn't need replacing. It doesn't happen very often that I give a bad review but it happens ones in a while and this one here isn't funny at all. I got a call this morning that a friend that had his vehicle yesterday at Firestone for some maintenance wasn't unable to start the car. So I walked through over the phone to check.the battery and was told there is a large amount of sulfate build up. This was all other signs was an indicator for me that the battery was dead. My friend also called Firestone and told them the same. Next thing I know was that the friend needs a tow to Firestone as they claimed the starter must be broken. I took off early from work so I could check that out and enable that person to get to work. Low and behold I jump-started the engine as it was the battery just like I assumed from the description I got. Question here is how can I be able to assume right while the Firestone store that did maintenance on the vehicle the day before and also "tested" the battery is unable to figure it out as well. This seems up-sales of unnecessary items to me. If they would have indeed tested the battery they should have known it's broken as I already saw it from the large amount of suflate on the battery. I am sorry but this is just very questionable. How can we be sure that any of the other things got checked? Anyways I got a new battery at Sam's as I am not buying a battery at a place that is unable to figure out an easy problem like this over the phone. We are visiting San Antonio from out of town. This is the 4th time I have brought our car back to this location (had to take it 2 additional times to a location outside San Antonio). They do not perform the job right the first time (this seems to hold true at all Firestone locations - we have lived in TX, NJ, and FL). These repeated trips back to this location have been very frustrating. The customer service has been lackluster. The only reason we bring the car here is because if the "lifetime" packages they push hard to sell. Once we sell our current car, I do not plan on ever returning to any Firestone. read more

I am a girl in my twenties with absolutely no knowledge of cars. I dont have enough fingers to count the amount of times I have been taken advantage of my a car service center. This place was a refreshing surprise and I could not have had a better experience. I brought in my car for an oil change and squeaky breaks. They took a look at my brake pads and brought me into "the work pit" to look too. They showed me that my brake pad was practically new (which I expected since I just bought the new car). They explained that with that much pad left, there is absolutely no reason to sell me a new pad and I should go back to the dealer and get it replaced. They were so nice and gave me key words to use with the dealer because I had obviously been given a "lemon" brake pad. The guys were so nice and helpful. It was a Sunday around 1pm and unfortunately I had to hang out because I dont know anyone here to kill time with while my car is being worked on. They also only had 2 people working. I ended up being there for 3.5 hours..ugh. but its not like they didnt quote me as such, so I cant be mad at them. They were also extremely helpful and not pushing a ton of services on me.. gave me suggestions and quotes and sent me on my way. They had to replace the headlights and install the part in order for my car to pass the inspection, but they did it probably in under 30 minutes without any hassle. Every time I heard the words "oil change" I cringe a little on the inside. The automobile industry is notorious for being shady and pinching every last dime out of its customers, but for the first time in my life I had a pleasant experience! As I was getting my oil changed, I chatted with the guy at the counter (I forgot to ask his name) and he was educating me on car maintenance! He told me that you should always ask to see the parts after they finish to see if they actually gave you new ones, and explained to me the process that goes on behind an oil change. At the last place I went to, a Jiffy Lube, was terribly shady and did a terrible job because oil was leaking out of my car. I'm a happy customer here at Firestone and I know I'll be coming back here in the future. read more

The car had to be towed several times. Shops in Houston and Austin were not able to diagnosis and fix the problem. So I gave it a shot in San Antonio. Brought my car in because it wouldn't start so they automatically think it's the starter and I pay $450 for repair. Car still doesn't work they had my car for 3 days and still can't figure out how to repair my car they did put a new battery that I didn't need in my car for free. So all I got out of their services is $450 down the drain and my car returned back to me the same condition I gave it to them. Oh and advice to have it towed to the dealership where I should have went in the first place. Horrible service. Do not recommend. I went in to get a new battery and ended up staying in a very cold waiting room with no updates (even after asking) for 4& 1/2 hours. The thermostat was on 61 and it was winter so it was cold outside and I was shaking in the store. I was able to leave the shop finally and when I got home it took me a while to warm up. When I tried to start my car on Christmas Day to visit and help my elderly mother it didn't start so Geico jumped my car but nothing. I couldn't take it in because it was Christmas so I couldn't help or visit my mom. I had to wait until the next day (Sunday). on Sunday a man named Tom said their technician wasn't there so I needed to wait until Monday. They told me they gave me a bad battery but never apologized for the inconvenience of giving me a bad battery. I didn't see my mom until Monday. I had to give it one star for my review to be shown. if not it would've received zero stars. I don't even want to talk about making an appointment online. Even the guy said that the appointment making process is all messed up and someone needs to update it. read more

How horrible these people are! Took Equinox in for battery cable replacement or similar issue after purchasing new battery. They decided it needed a whole new computer- $1,200. something dollars. Got a loan to fix it, vehicle immediately broke down 10 minutes after picking it up. Took it back next day and they decided computer need more programming & kept it several more days. Same day picking it up-Same exact issue as before that $1,200. Not any change at all!! Manager won't return calls and then when going to talk to them in person they say the manager is out & will get in touch next week, going on for over a month!!! They won't determine if it's a faulty computer or admit they changed it unnecessarily when it was a different issue all together since the new computer didn't change a thing!!! read more

Well the next day we call about 2 hours after they open (11am) to see if they had an estimate of how long it'd be. They said they were looking at it and they'd call us back to update. We called back 2 hours later, same answer. 2hours after that, they said it'd be an hour more. 5pm rolls around, our day is shit to hell, and we waited the entire day, with no car, and stuff to do. Had an appointment for 7am to get my tires aligned. When it was completed, The service man test drove my car to make sure the alignment was fine. Went home and it was only when I had to do an errand did I look down at my steering wheel....To drive straight my driving wheel had to be turned right. If I put the steering wheel straight, the car went left. I immediately called them, took my car back to Firestone where a service man took my car for a test run. I guess they didn't believe me. The service man drove it straight into the garage. 20 minutes later it was fixed. He agreed it now drives better. The service man who worked on my alignment this morning was there as I was checking and and proceeded to explain what happened this morning without a mask. A mask is required in the store. I can understand not wearing one in the garage but when you are talking to a customer you need to wear one. I would go to another Firestone. read more
