I was helped on the phone by Antoine and in person by Erik. They were both very pleasant and very helpful. I was told over the phone exactly how much I would pay for an oil change out the door. Erik was great and very friendly, even willing to make casual conversation, a first for me when it comes to car service centers. He made recommendations for future maintenance buy never pressed them on me like at other shops. I came in for an oil change and used the coupon available online (go to their website, they have lots of coupons). Paid $23 out the door. I was here last November for new tires on my Corolla and bought the lifetime alignment, under the impression it was a transferable service. I had to come back 2x to fix a tire that wasn't put on properly and kept leaking air. Certainly annoying to come back for something you'd expect not to be happening, but Freddy and the services techs were super nice about it and understood my concerns wanting to get it fixed since constantly having low tire pressure is an obvious safety issue. I have a different car now and just came off of a pretty long road trip, so I made an appointment for a complete inspection, oil change, new tires and maybe also replace my spare tire. The whole deal. I had a great experience last time with Freddy and the service tech that helped put my tire on correctly (wish I could remember his name, sorry!) so I made an appoint after work. I started talking about the services I wanted and told the guy I thought the lifetime alignment was per customer. He told me I'd been misinformed and per policy I'd have to buy an individual/another lifetime alignment. Ok, got it! But is there nothing that you can do since I'm planning on getting a lot of services done tonight? He didn't seem to care that I was planning on spending a bunch of money here, only repeated it's the policy. Car maintenance is one thing I definitely don't mind paying for, but I half-expected something along the lines of a one time transfer exception or even discounted lifetime alignment for my current car? Even just $20 off would've made me feel better. Maybe that's expecting too much. It was like talking to a wall. I like to find places that I can depend on and come to regularly. And I care more about customer service/quality than cost and these kind of places, especially when it comes to my vehicle. And unfortunately, now I'll have to find another place where I can get my car serviced regularly. No point in keeping that Firestone credit card since I'll never be back. Zero stars for this place! They are crooks. They charge you for unnecessary services, leave dirty parts all over your car, and do not replace necessary parts such as your air filter. The people here were friendly but they are here for the UP SELL! I know my car is old but it is in great condition. I have an honest car guy that I have gone to for 15+ years but this place was super close so I wanted to try it out. I knew they would have some bs recommendations which they did. But they also refused to rotate my tires due to their condition, which i was told when I picked my car up. They aren't even that old and I don't drive very much so not likely. But I see they say that a lot based on other reviews. The check in girl told me they were cracked after looking at my car for 2 seconds. I asked them to try and close my window for me. They didn't even attempt. I had an appt at 1030. Glad I had a ride because I thought I could wait. She asked me for a time I needed it by. I said 2, she said no problem..... not ready until 3. So with an appt they changed my oil and aligned my tires in 4.5 hours. Wow. I'm tempted to go see my honest car guy just to have him verify their lies about all of my cars sudden issues. Came here to have my brakes changed because my dealer said they needed to be done. I asked my dealer how much time do I have left to change them and they said not even a day left. I immediately needed to fix it because brake pads are important. I went to Firestone to get them done since it was 10x cheaper. I get a call when the car was being worked on and they tell me I have 40% left in my brake pads and I can change it within two oil changes. That made me happy and I checked them out myself and agreed with them. They are honest, friendly and definitely a company I can trust. Do not come to this firestone. All they do is waste your time. 2nd time coming to this location with extended wait times. Made an appointment over the phone to get my tire changed since I had a nail in it, asked how long it would take and was told 45 minutes . Show up and no one is available at the counter to help me for at least 5 minutes, finally helped and they told me it would be about an hour. An hour and a few minutes later, the woman tells me they can't patch the tire (which I knew they wouldn't be able to based on the spot the nail was in) then told me they didn't have a replacement tire on hand. How can a tire company not have the proper tires in stock? And why did I have to sit around for an hour and a half to be told I have to go to another location. Never coming back to this location . Recommended by my fleet company to bring my car here. That was a mistake. Simple maintenance or car repair is no one's idea of a good time. And although prepared to wait, with work laptop in tow, there is NOTHING more annoying than to wait hours, becuase the shop doesn't provide a realistic time for a simple oil change when you check in, or as time progresses and you get TRAPPED at the shop. My car had a burnt headlight and I took it in to fix on today, Sunday. I was the first in line and I got there at 7:30 am. The outside temperature was 58 degrees. It was cold. The guy opened the door at 7:44. I got excited, thinking he would let me in. Instead he went out to get some breakfast and promised to come back at 8. He came back at 7:58 am. I thought he would let me in because at this point I was visibly shaking from the cold. Instead he just laugh and made fun of me anxiously trying to get inside for warmth. Then he locked the door behind all the waiting customers, there were about four people at this time. I was so disgusted at his behavior, I left and went to the nearby Firestone in Santa Ana and got my services done there. This person at Tustin area needs to learn more about his customer service skills. Always treating any prospective customer with respect! Any business ought to know this basic rule. I can understand if by some company's rules he couldn't let people in until the exact hour, but to laugh at people's discomfort is a step too far for me to tolerate. There is a new manager at this store as of 6 months ago and service is better than ever. I really love this Firestone. I wanted to do some complicated payment with my firestone credit card and they were quick and helpful in making sure it was taken care of. I had to call a second number but I knew exactly what to ask for thanks to them and it went smoothly. I refer my friends to this location all the time. Today a piece of my car was falling off on my way to work. They helpfully (and quickly) pulled the piece off and knowing that I'm a regular didn't charge me for the work. They told me I'd have to get a new piece from a dealership. I was on my way to work again and was only slightly late. This could have ruined my day but with Firestone on N. Tustin Ave my day was saved. So a note to future customers: become a regular loyal customer because they take care of you! read more

I went in to this store at the beginning of August, and just had my issue "resolved" yesterday, at another store. I initially went in to have a slow leak in my tire fixed. I previously bought a set of tires at the Garden Grove location and had no problems at that store whatsoever. At the same time, I asked if they would give me an estimate to repair the control arms. Was told the control arms would last me another 10K miles or so, and that the urgent safety issue was my shocks and struts, and a leaking seal, and that's where the main noise was coming from. Okay, so I agree to let them do the work, for a cool $1900.00. It took all day, and when I went to pick up my car, they had forgotten to fix the tire. So I waited there about another 45 minutes or so. The next morning when I went out to my car, the tire was almost completely flat. I had to go back, and they replaced the tire, great. About a week and a half later, I notice the liners in the front wheel wells are just hanging, they had been removed for the repairs and just set back in place without being secured at all. So on my way home from work that day, I decide to run by the shop to see if they will fix it real quick, since they close at 6:00 p.m. On the way, I hear a horrible clunking noise from the front end, so I asked that they check that out, too. Turns out, they installed a defective front shock. So, I make an appointment to come in the very next day to have it fixed. Was an inconvenience, but had to be done. After that got done, I'm still hearing a lot of creaking, and at this point, I don't trust these guys with my ride. I take my car to the mechanics at the Garden Grove store to go over all the work and let me know if anything is wrong. Guess what? The rear shock is defective and leaking! I ask them if they can remove and replace it, and they tell me I have to go back to the Santa Ana store. So I go back to Santa Ana, at this point I am livid, and of course they try to be nice and smooth things over, and call over to Garden Grove and tell them they can do the work. So yesterday, I miss even more work, take my car in to Garden Grove, they do the work right, and also tell me the main noise is coming from the control arms. Did I even really need new shocks and struts? I paid $1900.00 for ALL defective parts to be installed in my vehicle, was jacked around and lied to, lost time from work, wasted gas and time on multiple trips back and forth to two shops, and still have no evidence of regret or accountability on anyone's part. I contacted Firestone, got a case number and a call from the area manger. He said he would make sure the work got done right yesterday, but can't do anything else for me after all this. OK so I went in and spoke with Mrs. Jocelyn Mendoza today after my mechanic told me that my tires were so bad that I couldn't drive the car. I originally purchased the tires when I had 127,837 miles and it cost me $719.48. I purchased from Firestone complete auto care a bridge stone DUELER HT tire with the 60,000 mile warranty back March 18, 2015. Today is December 26, 2016 and my total miles are 165,375. BEWARE the tires they sold me with the 60,000 mile warranty did not even make it 40,000 miles. Also, less than 10 days after they sold me the tires, I had to come back as one of my tires were flat. The store did offer me a modest $43 credit on purchasing a net set of tires. The manager was as nice as she could be given the circumstances. She repetitively told me that she was only trying to help me and I appreciated that greatly. Overall I just think that if you are going to upsell people to buy a tire guaranteed to 60000 miles then that tire should at least make it to 40000 miles. If not then it is defective and should be replaced. Maybe it is better to not give any warrantee at all and just tell people that it depends on driving conditions. The manager told me their best price to replace my tires was $676.14. This lady is offering me $43 off the original price I paid! It is the principle of the whole thing. Please don't put something in writing if you can't live up to it. 40000 miles from a tire is fine unless you pay extra to get a tire that is specially made to last 60000 miles. read more

First off.. I like this store and the people here are friendly etc. I took an old truck in to have two issues taken care of. Well they wound up putting a big dent in my vehicle! Promised to fix it along with the repairs. Luckily I didn't need this vehicle because over three weeks later I finally got the vehicle back. Body work was fine. (They didn't do it) well the oil leak it was brought in for not only is still there It leaks in two spots now! I'd take my car here if it was a newer model that had an easy fix (like windshield wipers) but that's about it. I personally was visiting SoCal from San Francisco and on my way down realized that I was losing control of my car. This whole experience with this firestone has been beyond frustrating. I got my first flat this morning and called firestone right away to see if they can get me in. First off, when I called and explained my situation they told me it would be roughly $50 to fix and 1.5 hr wait. I was confused at first because I just bought the tires a few months ago and bought road hazard protection, but being frazzled after the tire busting I was like whatever, I'm coming in. After arriving and speaking to another girl, she said i don't have to pay anything, its covered, the previous person probably didn't check my record and again it would be 1.5 hrs wait time. Ok fine. So I waited. After the allotted time had passed I went to go check how much longer because 1) my car was parked and still hadn't been worked on 2)whoever moved my car left my windows open and a questionable looking couple was creeping around and looking INSIDE my car and 3) I had to be somewhere at a certain time and it was getting close. Well.... I was told it would be another HOUR. . I asked for my keys and left. I couldn't afford to waste anymore time. From they beginning, they should have been honest with me about the wait time, like the firestone on main and 1st, instead of yanking my chain. The store on main st told me I would have a wait of 3hrs to just have the car looked at. At least they have the courtesy to tell you so you don't waste your time. Also, don't leave your customer's car windows wide open if you are not watching. I doubt you would have reimbursed anything should those people have stolen anything from my car. Never again. After reading pretty good reviews on yelp, I did what any yelper would do..... Give this place a shot for my oil change! Without a doubt when I called in the morning before I dropped my car off for the oil change at about noon, I said I can pick up the car at 4:30. At about 3:45 pm I called to see if my car was ready... they said were just topping the oil off.... Then at 10 min later, they said my plugs more than likely are cross threaded..... I don't know what that means???? My dad did my car service before!!! You are going to need an oil pan..... I said, that's ok, I'll hold off.... Well after balling out my BF for messing up my car with his personal oil change..... two weeks later I go to their competitors next door...... I was taken care of, with out any problems.... He did everything he could to make that the best experience for me.. gave me as many discounts as he could rightfully offer, got me signed up with the firestone card so i didn't have to pay upfront, and was thorough in checking in with me. i had my battery replaced, oil changed, and my breaks redone. fortunately through a weekend special i got the oil change for free. they were careful not to press anything on you but let you know everything that was found wrong and you would be able to tell them what you wanted to do. being a young lady i am always skeptical of how i will be treated and if someone is going to try to cheat me. i felt like i was being treated like family! thanks again guys! read more

Long, but detailed and may be useful to the reader. My car was due for an oil change and I knew my brakes needed replacing soon so I took it in at 5pm. The location closes at 7pm. I decided to pay an extra $15 to get a general inspection. Bad idea. They said they would give me a call when the car was ready to be picked up. They finally call at 7:15 telling me they don't have the brake parts so I need to leave it overnight and it will be ready by 9am. At the same time they tell me my front right strut is BROKEN. They were old, yes, but definitely not broken. I've had struts replaced on another vehicle before and I know what the car feels like when struts need replacing. Cost to replace the two front struts on my 1999 Corolla? $866. I decline that fix of course, and proceed with just my initial request of replacing the brakes ($100). The next morning I never receive a call and decide to simply show up at 11am. I see my car rolling out onto the road, finally getting a test drive, 2 hours after the initial quoted time. Rundown of Recommended services: "REQUIRED...system failure....vehicle unsafe to drive": Replace two front struts: $866 Replace battery: $130 "SUGGESTED": Brake Fluid Exchange $80 Replace Rear Struts $1037 Including Tax: $2215. $1271 of that for parts. I looked up the exact parts they recommended on Amazon and Firestone was going to charge me more than double Amazon's retail prices. Ex: "171954 Rear Quick Strut" on Amazon is showing $122. Firestone quotes me $291. Get this...I pay for the oil change, brake replacement, and general inspection and I'm off on my way. The front right strut is indeed now broken. Every bump in the road is now nice and bumpity bumpity bumpity and every rough patch on the road I hear rattling. Maybe coincidentally it actually did break right when I brought my car into the shop. I don't think so. But what's the point in arguing? "We told you so..." yeah, you also told me my battery and rear struts need replacing too. I took my car to another auto shop, Park's Auto Repair & Tire in Los Angeles. The drive was actually quite scary, especially on the 10 West between Central and Figueroa where the road is already a little bumpy, my car actually bottomed out a couple times. I drive this stretch multiple times per week and that has NEVER happened to me. They replaced my two front struts AND a strut mount for $495, tax, parts, labor, and realignment included. It was done in three hours and they told me my rear struts were fine. Old but fine. Battery does not need replacement either. Saved myself almost $1800 by going to another auto shop. I now understand peoples' fears of dishonest mechanics. Now that it comes to mind, I'm going to go double check right now if my oil was even changed... tldr: Late, seemingly dishonest, extremely overpriced. Don't come here. read more

I came here specifically because of its great reviews, and I wasn't disappointed. The biggest deference I first noticed was their customer service and friendly attitude. I've been to others, and it feels like an assembly line. They were very personal and informative. As some time went on, they would update me on where things were. So far, every experience coming in has been great. The most recent time had to do with my Mini Cooper making a rattling noise. * NATALIE SAVED THE DAY!* I have relatives who come here and say nothing but great things. After having a bad experience at Big O Tires, I decided to give it a shot and I am SO happy that I did! One thing I noticed right away is that they are so busy and that's for a reason. I walked in and had to wait maybe around 5/10 min to speak to their front desk rep. (Who acknowledged me right away and asked if I could please give her a moment. She was on the phone ordering parts and answering other calls and answering questions from other staff so ofcourse I understood and waited patiently). After she was done she thanked me and apologized again and asked what she could do for me. This is my first time ever seeing a girl work at a tire shop so I was immediately more comfortable! I told her I needed an oil change. At this point is was close to 5 and I believe they close at 6 on week days so I thought I'd get the boot like at the previous tire shop I went to but I was so wrong! She gladly told me they could do it and that'd she'd give me a call back when it was ready. I wasn't in a rush by any means so I told her to take her time. An hour and a half later I got a call that it was ready and went to go pick it up. My wife and I have been loyal customers of firestone tires for about 10 years. Great overall tires! However, because of my experience during my last two visits to this location I will no longer buy firestone tires. I'm either told i need new brake pads, especially if there is sale going on, or told I need new tires. If you go here get a second opinion or check somewhere else for the parts they want to sell you. They even tried to sell me a $50 air filter for my car. "Its a special part for your car", they told me. Same part is $11 dollars on Amazon. Why can't anyone just do honest work anymore??? Furthermore, I came in for my appointment for a oil change and a tire rotation today at 11:00 am and didn't leave until almost 3:00 pm with only an oil change completed. Long story short about that, the service agent claimed my front tires (purchased 14 month ago) needed to be replaced and refused to rotate my tires. Change tires with plenty of tread??? Come on now. On a scale from 1-5 the tire is a high 3. Still above the 2 scale that requires replacement. Its a shame this place stopped doing honest work. Customers be warned The previous visit they tried to tell my wife she needed brakes. I understand that some people are sue happy in this day and age that the guy helping me wasn't going to tell me my tires would be safe to drive on in their condition definitively. I just wanted to see if I'd be safe waiting two whole days to get a second tire because quite frankly, I couldn't afford it till payday. When I picked up my car, with one new tire, my spare was hanging out in the bed of my truck instead of where it belonged. I was grumpy so I left as is. Two days late I returned to buy the other tire and told the guy ringing me up about the spare. He had it fixed quickly and I was out the door in no time.
