Beware of Ryan Lewis, their internet sales assistant manager. I was there on June 30, 2019 and was greeted by Gabriel Navarette. He showed me the SI that I was inquiring about and was very patient in answering any of my questions. After i test drove the car, Ryan Lewis sat at our desk to help with the financing part of our inquiry. This is when my visit to the dealership went south. He was very condescending and disingenuous. When I asked him if Honda will soon have 1.9 APR financing for the SI he said that Honda does not give 1.9% APR and that 3.9% APR was the best deal for me. When I told him I got 1.9% for my Pilot he answered that 1.9 will not make much difference to the 3.9% he was giving me. $25 / month may not seem like a lot but in 5 years that totals $1,500! Next, he offered me a lease deal for $314 / month with $770 down. I told him the deal I got for my Infinity QX60, which was MSRP $52,000, was $470 / month. His response was because the residual value of the civic is high, and that is why it cannot be compared to my Infiniti. This did not make sense to me. I thought the higher the residual value the lower the lease payment will be because the car retains its value. I would give this dealership 1 star if it wasn't for Gabriel. Wow. So, this would have been my third car through first auto. What a let down. Went in on July 3rd to check out some new civics because my lease was about to end. Found one I liked, and we started the process. My credit isn't that great, but they kept assuring me because I had a good payment history with Honda and I've gotten cars through them before, that I'd probably be fine. 4 hours I sat there while they "talked to Honda". 4 hours, just to be told that they'd "let me know tomorrow". So, I called the following morning and was again told that the service manager was "working on it". Called again an hour later and they said said they'd call me right back. Another hour goes by and I call, only to be told that I was denied earlier that morning. So, I asked what I'm supposed to do with my current car -- and you guessed it -- they said they'd call me right back. So, I called an hour later and they give me a 1-800 number and tell me to ask them. Absolutely unreal. I understand there's only so much a dealership can do with financing. But the fact that I spent 4 hours sitting around in an office, and then had to call them over and over when I was told by a sales manager and a salesman that they were working on my issue, is completely ridiculous. read more

I got my very first Honda here a few years ago & the experience was incredible and everyone was so helpful. I went with a lease option and got into a reliable and trustworthy vehicle. So when the lease came to an end, I decided to come back and finance this vehicle to keep. This vehicle was leased in my fathers name and I wanted to transfer it to mine and get my fathers name off the car. I walked in on a Monday evening around 6:30 and was greeted by the Assistant Manager, Juan. When I explained the situation - he told me there's no way that could be done and I'm out of luck. My only option for keeping the car was to carry my dad over with me, and finance the vehicle with his name on it. I asked if he was sure and he said what I wanted wasn't possible and maybe I should come back another time when I had my Dad with me. I left feeling really rushed out and it was more than apparent he didn't have any interest in helping me after I had just drove twenty minutes to continue doing business with Honda of Simi. Yesterday I decided to stop in to Ocean Honda of Ventura where I proceeded to finance the vehicle myself and sign my Dad off of it with no issues, hiccups or questions asked. Their team was so helpful and the entire process took two hours. Not to mention - I went in to the dealership without having my father with me. This dealership, who I had never done business with, and who did not lease the vehicle to me, was willing to help me and get me taken care of. First Honda, this type of service speaks volumes not only as a direct representation of your dealership, but a reflection of your team of employees as well. You pride yourselves on helping the customer from start to finish, but when I chose to stay loyal with you, and continue my business, you turned me away at 6:30 on a Monday. I left feeling misled and out of options. Your team let me walk away with no hesitation and allow me the opportunity to form a new relationship with another dealership who helped me continue a lease I did not start with them. We took in our Honda today due a recall for the airbags, when you leave your car they text you shortly after with a generic number to keep you updated and it states you can use that number as well to reach them for any questions, so after a few hours I decided to text them to see how much longer until my car was ready for pick up and Jacob's reply was "its ready to go, I texted you and left a message, thank you" I genuinely felt this was a bit rude and an unprofessional reply, if I had recieved a text or even a voicemail, I would have not needed to message you, therefore I dont believe any message or voicemail was left. In addition, I attached a photo of everything they inspected inside and outside my car and they put my exterior and interior lights were all good and checked however I know my left side brake light has not been working for over a week , I also attached that photo and they are still not working, did not expect them to fix it but this makes me question if they even checked anything ? And if they even repaired my airbags ?? Since they marked all my break lights are good when in fact they are not. I recently was in a bad car accident near Torrance area. I took my car to a place near my house that insurance works with and that was that. Monday, I receive a phone call from a young gentleman saying hes from 1st Honda Simi Valley and would like to know where I took my car in to get serviced. I said why do you want to know that? He responded, and I quote, "wow you sound like a f****** bi***, I feel bad for your husband" and hung up on me. He was obviously trying to sell me on getting serviced there and when he found out I wasn't into it he yelled profanities at me and hung up. I have called HR probably 5 times and left 3 voicemails with NO RESPONSE. The unprofessionalism is insane. To top it off, he had his friend fake call me from a blocked call pretending they were HR and mentioned he was just trying to perform a survey and I was being uncooperative. I quickly realized what was going on and told them nice try, Ill call back and reach HR. He then hung up on me. The gentleman called me back crying asking not to get him fired. This whole thing is completely ridiculous, and I am dealing with a lot of emotional stress after a major car crash and being pregnant. When i first got my "certified" used car they said that it is inspected before it is sold to insure everything that needs to be replaced is good as new. Few days after i drove off Honda i noticed my oil like was at 15% but i didn't wanna stress about it AND my breaks were squeaking. Finally i had it checked and they change the break pads to a new one and didn't have to pay since it is under "warranty". A month later my battery dies for no reason. Yes i made sure all lights were off and didn't leave the car running. Took it in after AAA jumped it for me and they checked it and said IT WAS COMPLETELY FINE!! a month ago the same issue happened and did the whole AAA then Honda then they said it was fine. Now, i need an oil change (my last free oil change that was given to me) i needed transmission fluid and TADAAAA a new battery and all this is NOT included in the warranty. And really transmission fluid already in 10k miles???? I get it it's regular wear and tear but what really is included in the warranty because every time i go there im being charged here and there. car sales is kinda ok here but maintenance needs to step it up. If i really got a certified used and the sales man didn't lie to me and tell me that every certified used vehicle is checked before sold then i don't believe them. If a new battery was placed before i got it at 39,000 and now I'm at 49,000 after 6 months of purchase, it doesn't make sense to me that it needs a new battery right now. Sales rep called later, asking for my credit card without going over the service performed or price until I asked her for it. Later, when I went in to pick up the car, I found out the service department had forgotten to give the sales department our key. If we had not brought our spare key, we wouldn't have been able to pick up our car. Little to no remorse was shown, and the sales team instead blamed the service department. Absolute worst service I have EVER experienced in my life! I rate this a NEGATIVE 9 on a scale of 1-10! My radio and horn went out on my 2008 honda civic that i bought BRAND NEW in 2008 from Galpin Honda in Mission Hills. Since I live in Simi Valley, I thought it would make sense to have a closer dealership take a look at it. After calling and waiting on hold for over 15 minutes with the "service department" i hung up and called back only to be placed on hold once again this time for only 10 minutes. After lookin up my name in their system they had all INCORRECT information that i repeatidly tried to have them correct. So after taking the car to the dealership they refused to look at it because it was out of warranty (which had just expired). I spoke with the manager and he said there was nothing he could do. However, they had previously replaced the radio when it was UNDER WARRANTY and the issue was not resolved. So I called HONDA and had a representative contact me back. After explaining the situation Honda said they would cover most of the cost depending on what the issue was. I went back to First Honda and explained the situation and gave them the Honda representatives name and requested them to call him, they agreed to look at the car to diagnose. I called about 7 hours later to check the status of the situation and the manager whom i had called his direct number said we have not looked at it yet. I asked why? it has been over 6 hours. He simply replied "Look, I told you this wasnt going to happen right away... You're just going to have to wait..". Needless to say I was irrate, 1, because he did not tell me it was going to be a long process and 2, the way he was treated and 3, I NEED MY CAR! I went and collected my car from the dealership so called "Service Department" and called another Honda dealer in Thousand Oaks and spoke with the manager. He explained to me that he would be more than happy to look at the car and said that they HAVE to look at the car especially because they were the ones that replaced the radio in the first place while it was STILL UNDER WARRANTY. The very nice gentlemen at Thousand Oaks Honda called First Honda in Simi Valley and spoke with the manager and told them to look at the issue and deal with Honda directly. Only after that was I actually "serviced" at Simi Valley First Honda, after calling Honda USA and another dealership to have them actually get off their ass to help me, So, finally, I call to have my car serviced, they had no appointments available till the next day. This all took place on a Monday, so I had to wait until Wednesday to even be looked at. On Wednesday morning when I dropped off my Civic, the manager explained everything was in place to look at then told me they have had an outbreak of issues resulting from "rat damage" in which rats go inside the electric system and eat the wires and he said that if it happens to be rat damage they will not service me. That was the FINAL STRAW for me! To think of all the trouble i had to go through to get them to look at it and before they even take the radio out to check the electrical systems he throws me some BS about RATS? That only led me to believe these CONARTISTS would place rats or ratdroppings in my electrical system! So I called on Wednesday Evening to check the status of the issue and they hadnt looked at it yet. I took my car back to where i bought it at Galpin Honda and they asked no questions, fixed it in 2 hours and i was out of there with my horn and radio working. Also, as a courtesy, they upgraded my in-car bluetooth because the model in my car was discontinued. I basically got a $200 bluetooth for FREE because they are honest and care about my business! Word to the wise, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT SIMI VALLEY DEALERSHIPS! They are CROOKS and SCUMBAGS who are the for the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. The key to dealing with any dealership is to just assume that they will try to rip a person off. That's just the way it goes. Especially since my warranty has long since expired, I don't take my car to the dealership.....except if I get a recall notice. And I did. Upon bringing my car in to the shop, I braced myself because I knew they'd try to tell me that I have a laundry list of things wrong with my car. Sure enough, part way through the repair of the recalled item, they called me with the laundry list. They said ALL of my belts and hoses needed replacement and that something with the power steering needed replacement. I want to stop here and explain why the latter part got me so infuriated. For several YEARS, and more importantly, back when my car was under warranty, I knew something was wrong with the power steering because I drove the car, and it was nearly impossible at times to turn that wheel. Sometimes, it'd take all my strength to turn it. However, each time I took it to the dealer, they always said nothing was wrong (but I assure you, they'd always have their own maintenance/repair list to report back to me.) So, on this day when I took it for the recall, and they told me they "found something" with the power steering, I asked them, "Would what you're describing in any way cause the steering to become very difficult?" Naturally, they said "yes." So, naturally, I told them of several YEARS of being told nothing was wrong and asked them to look it up on their system......it was recorded most definitely. They just stared blindly and of course, told me they didn't have access to any such data. Uh-huh. LIARS. I knew where I was headed next....... my favorite, reliable, honest car repair shop.....to verify everything this place claimed. Since I'm writing this several weeks after, I can now proclaim that most of First Honda's recommendations were total BS. Only one of the hoses needed replacing.......no more, and certainly not all of them, as proclaimed. As for the power steering, nothing was found, once again (although I still have that occasional steering issue that nobody can find). I just continue to shake my head in disbelief at what bullshit artists car dealerships are. I only present my car to them when I have to. read more

So a while back I took an Accord in for the dreaded slipping transmission issue. They claimed they'd never heard of it before even though my sister-in-law brought both of her Hondas in for the same issue. They ended up replacing mine under warranty. Recently, I brought the car back for the same issue. The tech told me they could flush the transmission, even though they didn't know what was wrong with it. They said they couldn't work on the transmission beyond the flushing it because Honda preferred to just replace transmissions. The total would be over $4,000, and that's for a a third transmission. The punchline is that they said they'd never seen this before. They were the ones to replace the last one just a few years ago. They had no records of it. The only other issue I brought it in for they were completely unable to diagnose. They gave up on it and declared that it worked as far as they could tell. They weren't able to fix my issue, but they were honest and upfront. The service department people were polite and professional, which seems to be a rarity in this field. Could be far worse. Oh, and the pricing was surprisingly in line with, or less than many independents quoted me. Go figure. read more

I've had a civic for a little over eight years and although there was nothing wrong with it, my husband insisted he get me a new car to prep for the addition to our family. I procrastinated for MONTHS but had an idea that I would like another Honda or an Acura. After a few months of researching for reliable and safe cars, we both decided on the accord. Let me start off by saying that he became obsessed with finding the best deal. Went through all the internet searches and called dealerships, etc. I told him I would ONLY go test driving, as I wasn't ready to let go of my baby, the civic that is. We didn't have much expectation of any of the Simi dealerships, we decided that if it doesn't go well, we can drive to Thousand Oaks where there probably is more inventory. Boy was I wrong! As soon as we pulled into the customer parking, we were greeting by Tony Vaccaro. Told him the exact type of Accord we were looking for and he showed us a few. Next thing I know, I'm test driving the car. Talk about a huge jump from my little civic to this enormous comfy, smooth ride in the accord! Then, we were sitting in his office filling out forms. Then, we were negotiating the price. Then, I had the checkbook out. Then, we got our financing completed. Well, you get the idea, there is a shiny peal white car in the garage that has replaced my civic. The whole thing was stress-free and we were very happy with the end result. Tony was very courteous and pleasant to work with; he really is a nice guy! And Stu Miller, the manager was so nice and full of smiles, he made us feel comfortable. Overall, everyone was very nice there. Definitely a better experience then when I bought my first Honda at the Van Nuys dealership back in 2003 - back when they were renovating and their office was a bungalow. So naturally, I was impressed by the showroom and the cleanliness of this whole place. I'd recommend you go here if you're looking to buy a new Honda, especially if you're a Simi resident. I came in to the dealership to inquire about leasing a new Honda Civic. After 2 hours of waiting and filling out paper work the salesman Juan Sanchez didn't even bother to negotiate or help me after I let him know I had gone to Galpin Honda. I told him that I wanted to know if he could beat their deal that was offered to me as I was looking to lease at the best rate possible. He said no way and didn't even hesitate to fold up his offer and thank me for coming. As a serious customer coming into the dealer hoping to leave with a car, I felt that this type of customer service was absolutely terrible. Don't buy or lease your car from this dealership because they don't care to give serious buyers the time of day. I will not be coming back here and would not recommend you do either. read more

Took my Honda accord there to get an opinion on what it needed. I was told we will call you in about an hour.... 3 hours later I called them they had not yet looked at it. Finally I called again two hours later and they gave me a list of things my car needed I told the Service advisor that I would not be getting anything done today and that I would be back at another time. Then they told me it was 120.00 to look at my car. NO ONE TOLD ME THIS IN ADVANCE. If I would have been told it was 120.00 just to look I would have said no. I said for what 120.00 what was I paying for. I never got an answer so I paid the ransom money and got my car back. The next day someone called me from customer service I told them I was unhappy and that I thought that I felt I was ripped off. She said she would have the service manager give me a call to discuss my concerns. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACk. Poor service and no follow through. read more

I made an appointment online to have my car serviced on a Saturday. I received a confirmation email. I received a voicemail that confirmed my appointment on the day before my appointment. Great, or so I thought. I show up on Saturday for my appointment. They tell me that they are too busy to handle me and my appointment and that their online appointment system "isn't great." Thank you for wasting my time. You turned away my business one day...but I'll never be returning. read more

The worst dealership. They wouldn't help me and my family at all. We wanted to refinance since we are just students trying to get a better deal. They gave us attitude and wouldn't help us at all. The manager sucks. All he said "u Can whatever u want, we got our money". That's why no one goes here anymore. my brother has a very little knowledge about dealerships and their bs deals and services. That's why he fell into trap. Thanks for nothing. read more
