I understand once we buy car, that's whole another story for the dealer= want to sell car the most. Yes that's the most interest of course. It's business. That say my "buying" experience was great. In other words, we see the better part of their service. Wish I didn't have to go back and take care of some stuffs But after that, to deal w some stuffs, I got unbelievably rude person on the phone to start with. it was totally one of those typical arrogant attitude who even don't wanna get bothered answer customers questions but rather sigh and answer in very harsh way. It was dead obvious he doesn't wanna deal w. Me. Just for this whoever answered my call, his attitude, arrogance worth to lower 1 star or less. Bc it was seriously horrible "customer service" Or how to treat "customer". Unfortunate but the fact of any business that if out of 10, just 1 person doesn't give a xxxx how to have conversation with anybody who call that could potentially be customer, it hurts their business even the rest of 9 are so nice and awesome. As a matter of fact, the female crew I spoke after that horrible ones, she apologized and tried to help me out. I told her ur awesome but whoever the dude I spoke w b4 her Damaged enough. After all, it goes back to how to manage the crew/ their attitude, extra careful not let even that happens. Not an inch. If it's human involved in experience, (vs online shopping), & trying to make differences from it, they need to change the approach of how to deal w human/customer very carefully. I have horrible experiences w all dealers service all those years, never expect good experience anymore but this incident definitely made myself clear I don't wven wanna deal w service neither if the person who's not service shows that type of attitude already. Also need to update not to hide car's number plate w dealers logo on it like used to be til we get new registration/tag. I was stopped by police bc I wasn't showing both plate. But the back one was covered by paper w dealers logo design/ not the plate numbers. 30min waste of my time/schedule pushed back in busy day. If they follow new rules ruled recently, which I didn't know as customer, I didn't have that. due to this police stop/education, I started checking and now see most of new car having both side of plate having temporary printed paper plate, which is the right way to do, otherwise you'll get stopped by police. Possible get ticket. Now waiting for my registration color sticker after 2months passed... called dealer last week, I was told it'll be here by Friday. today is already Tuesday and I haven't received. As my car loan officer alerted, j had to call them following up again. Don't know why it keeps adding extra work on my end.. I was supposed to be all clear, no police pull over, perfect number plate w registration sticker on after 2months. Unfortunately that's not the case. I understand dmv could take forever but car loan officer and policeman also told me it usually sets asap and 2months is way too long not all set. (As u know those document on front window usually for 90days). At least I need proof that's still "in progress" if that's the case. Tried to get any type of proof from the dealer while I'm talking on phone, email screen shot to me bc I have no idea when they "email" me without me getting back to them. I never get call back from these ppl without Me make call to follow up: I was also told "person is with customer" or "not available"... then guess what, I get exact person when they transfer.. = did the previous person straight lie to me that person is not available? Tuesday 3pm... who's shopping at the dealer like the weekend? I never trust them saying "I'll call back ASAP" or "busy w customer" Yeah it might be true but also easily straight lie to avoid taking care of you. If they take care of u on top of the game, I won't get pull over by policeman. If they call back, take care of business in smart, fast, efficient way, it should be done or make customer happy by doing so. Instead, if they say "I'll call back" and never call back without U call them... if they don't listen to what u need but quick "guess" ur need but that's wrong. If they tell lie "person is not avail" but actually avail, how could u trust or Wanna business with? And if u pointed those thing to them, they never apologize, mean I take it as they're totally ok doing those to the customer. I'm extremely disappointed buy car from them. read more

I have NEVER left a review below 5 stars. I don't believe in being petty. But be warned about first Kia. The sales guy was nice at first then brought by mom and I to the manager to give us a price. He came in WAY over anyone we had gone to. My mom and I didn't have a ton of time and weren't ready to purchase a car today and the manager then loudly said "I don't know what's more important to them. Buying a car takes time" then the sales guy said how we were getting such a great deal at this outrageous price and that these seltos are very hard to find! LIE. He gave us a "discount" that he wrote on the paper was only available today. They said they haven't sold a car today and they want to sell one and that's why they are giving us such a cheap deal! First of all, I was very grateful for the technician and service team that worked on my car to diagnose and fix a difficult to describe noise coming from the engine area. But more importantly, what set First Kia above the rest, was the customer service. I felt the service department did an excellent job at listening to my concerns, addressing my questions and following through with offers to update me in a timely manner. I think my service advisor Jimmy Maguglin did a phenomenal job at keeping me informed. He followed through like clockwork with updates and I could always get a hold of someone when I called in. Jimmy's professionalism showed through in the way he patiently heard out all my concerns and offered rationales in a way that made sense, explaining things in a way I could understand even though I'm completely car illiterate. I also never felt like he was rushing me and just felt like I was treated fairly and as a priority. They sold me car that they said was in good condition. I believed them. It has glazed rotors all the way around and really warn break pada going to have to pay $800 to fix. The bumper fell off and started flapping while i was driving on the freeway not even a month after purchase. And they told me i would get a free oil change and they set a date to do it. Service is pretty good here. I would comment however, that the employees need to be a little more welcoming to the customers they serve. All comes down to customer service in a simple "hello", "good morning", etc. That goes a long way in making you feel welcome. This is the fault of management in providing poor training and oversight. I brought my 2015 Kia Rio EZ that I bought in October 2019 for its 45,000 mile service appointment. This location was the closest certified Kia service department from where I live, so it was about a 30 minute drive. Upon arriving, I was greeted by service tech Robin who was very nice and friendly. She gave me an ETA on when my car would be done, advised me she would text me throughout the appointment with updates and let me know what was in the surrounding area within walking distance. I chose to wait in the customer lounge that looks a little rough around the edges on the outside, but on the inside was your basic amenities at most car service locations - complimentary donuts, bottle water and coffee. They also had a big TV playing and complimentary WiFi. I brought my car in at 10:45 AM and was on my way by 12:30 PM. I was one of two other customers there that I could see so the timeframe to change the oil and do a multi-point inspection seemed a bit long. They did wash my car for free, which was a nice perk. The recommendations they made for additional services are the reason for the one star deduction. They said I needed to replace my battery, which it very well could need to be replaced, but to quote a battery replacement for over $300 is ridiculous. And my center console lid needed to be replaced and I found the lid I needed from an authentic Kia parts provider for $100 and was quoted over $200 from Kia Simi. I understand marking up prices to make a profit, but the quoted were a bit extreme. I would and will bring my Kia back to this location because the customer service was on point, but the pricing I will watch closely and always get a second opinion on before agreeing to anything. read more

Do NOT go here for service or warranty repairs! I had a loud noise in my 2016 Kia Optima Hybrid, which got louder as I drove ... and even louder when I turned to the left. My research and instincts told me it was a wheel bearing. But when I brought it by for the service manager's (Guy Ankeny) opinion, he basically said, "Wheel bearings simply don't go out on these cars." Followed by, "You've been reading too much on the internet." He said he's 100% confident it's "nothing catastrophic," and suggested I have the alignment checked next time I come in for an oil change (in approx. 2k more miles). Today, one week later, the noise was so bad I brought it to my tire shop for an alignment (and second opinion). They said it's NOT the alignment, but the wheel bearing is about to go and needs replacing ASAP. We all know what happens when a bearing goes bad ... the wheel seizes and it becomes "catastrophic." Now waiting for a call back from Kirby Kia in Ventura to see what they can do to actually help me instead of dismissing my concern. Shame on you, First Kia. This could have been a REALLY bad ending. read more

Just left this dealership and Noah (he didn't have a name tag but said that that was his name- blue eyes,blonde hair) was so rude and condescending. First of all, they close at 7 on Sundays so if you're driving by at 6pm, do not even go in. He right away told us (6:15) that they are about to close and would love to set up an appointment for another time. We knew specifically what we wanted to look at so it would just be down to talking numbers to compare deals (we wanted a pilot but wanted to explore all options so checked our Kia for deals)- he obviously didn't care for or need. Once we told him the lease deals we found online, he started his rude tone saying the deals on Kia's website aren't necessarily their deals. The thing is, when we were looking up inventory on Kia's website, it led us to Simi's dealership so we went there expecting to get the right treatment. He tried to turn on his computer and said "show me" as if we had anything to prove to him. His job is to sell cars and provide good customer service. He lost a sale and I can't believe that this is the kind of service he provides. We had previously gone to the Valencia dealership but the lady that helped us wasn't too knowledgeable on the cars and didn't have the one we were looking for. She however, was nice and helpful and aware that the deals advertised online is what brings customers in. Noah, I hope you have a back up plan for your career. Kia management- i hope you realize you are losing out on sales because of employees like Noah. Update hours later- just leased a third car from Keyes in Woodland Hills and I can't believe we even considered looking elsewhere- go there! After being a customer of this dealership for six years and buying a brand new Kia Soul...it is unfortunate that we must part ways. I hope the sales staff is still great as it was in 2013, I'm not coming back to find out due to a terrible service department. This last week I needed a part for replacement on my 2013 Kia Soul, it broke and needs to be replaced. After the part came in no phone call to tell me it was in strike one. Then when we get the part it is not painted by the factory it was white on top and black on the bottom, no one told us the part was unfinished at the time I ordered it and paid $314 for it and $130 for installation, strike two. Then after having picked up said part I am told " oh yeah it comes unfinished we have to send it for painting that will be $200 more, when we were never told of this by the service writer or manager, strike 3. So that's $644 plus applicable sales taxes for a part that is basically not complete when ordered and no way of knowing that ahead of time so the customer can make an informed decision about spending this kind of money. Now don't get me wrong I understand they have to pay their service help $125K per year and that's why oil changes are over $250 here and god help you if you have to have major repairs done, but the customer service we received is abysmal and like most people I don't rob banks for a living, I even missed the train to neurosurgery as well. So due to very poor management sadly we will not be returning customers, I will gladly use Valencia Kia where I'm hoping they still know how to treat their customers. We needed this part to match in color as we are trading the car next year for a new one, but not as First Kia in Simi. Oh and one last item I want to apologize to John in the parts department for the irate phone call from my wife yesterday, she was well let's say a bit unhinged when we saw the replacement part and found out about the $200 shop fee. Unbelievable that businesses like these are allowed to operate and stay in business. This place is horrible. The way customers are treated should be criminal. Service is the absolute worst, please do yourself a big favor and save yourself much headache, frustration and a whole lot of cash...just avoid this place until they've fired everyone and start over.
