We were pleasantly surprised when eating here. I was not sure what to expect since it was brand new when we went. The food was very good & I would definitely say above average! After all that...why not 5 stars? Unfortunately, we had a server who didn't seem to understand how to do her job in any way. She was, to put it bluntly, airheaded and blind to what her customers needed. The tables around us, except for the one with a group of nice looking young men, were treated like an afterthought. She was too busy flirting with them to even bring us or the other table beside us refills...even when we waved her over and asked her for them. We wanted to speak to a manager, but we couldn't. It seems that there was an issue in the kitchen that kept him or her from coming to us. We, as well as the table beside us with a couple small children waited approximately 15 mins after asking for the manager & finally left. We may come back, but we will definitely be sure we don't get set in that server's section. I do not recall her name, but I certainly know her face. I really want to like this joint because breakfast is my favorite meal and everything on the menu always sounds amazing. However, after my third visit here, I think Wild Eggs is better across the board and locally based to boot, so I should probably just stick with that when I have a craving for fancy breakfasts. On my most recent visit, I had a really sweet server, and their food is typically at least 3 stars, if not four, but my last meal was messed up & I would have liked to see it discounted or taken off my tab. My partner's food came out before mine, and then a manager came by to tell me they ran out of pork for the Cornbread Pork Carnitas and asked if I would accept a substitute of chicken instead. Okay. My partner was well into his meal when I got my dish with chicken, but then they left off the cornbread - so no cornbread or pork and both were in name of the dish. Without the cornbread, the rest was kind of soupy. When I attracted the attention of the server, she immediately brought me the bread but by then the food was room temperature. I didn't demand a discount or hot food but thought something should be offered without me asking because the meal was a letdown. Second critique - they don't offer fresh squeezed OJ like some similar restaurants do. Finally, whenever I've come to First Watch, I've asked for extra crispy bacon, but I usually have to send it back to get more of the crispness it needs, and then it's still not quite crunching like a cracker. This was my first visit to not only this particular restaurant, but any First Watch. When they first opened on Veteran's, the crowds were just too big and I'm not patient enough to handle long wait times. This morning I made sure I was there right after they opened at 7am. I had the Farmhouse Hash ($11.69) which is basically a skillet with fried potatoes, onions, peppers, bacon and avocado topped with two eggs any style. My meal was good overall, but I feel there just was not enough bacon in the mix. I'm guessing I tasted bacon in maybe three or four bites. Potatoes were in abundance with very little of the other ingredients evident. I will give First Watch credit for not over salting the dish as so many restaurants do these days. Another unexpected plus, First Watch had Bloody Mary's and Mimosas available. I did start my breakfast with a Bloody Mary ($7). I've had better Bloody Mary's, but I've also had much worse. So delicious. And I took half of my meal home, which I never do! I was so full. My husband got a lighter meal and didn't eat the toast, so he wasn't as full. I got the Corn Hash and it was really good. Very flavorful. I put the avocado on my toast because I wanted Avocado Toast but wanted more substance so that was my compromise. The avocado on the toast was delicious! The bread is really good! The coffee wasn't the best and the water tasted weird. The mugs and cups were watermarked I guess from the dishwasher which made them look dirty. I prefer a glass with ice, so if you're like me, ask for it. They did leave a coffee pitcher which is always nice, but I didn't drink as much because I just didn't love it. I do like that they have flavored creamer on the table. I didn't see the waitress much, which is okay because we didn't need anything. I will say too, that since having a child, I've noticed more that waiters and waitress' don't consider where they sit the hot food or pour the coffee. First impressions of First Watch weren't great. The glasses for water and coffee were far from clean, even after requesting a new one I received one that was better, but still not clean. My wife observed the hostess bringing someone's food out, she tilted the plate too far and had to catch the customers sausage in her hand and proceeded to put it back on the plate and serve it. The food was good but only slightly warm. Pretty sure it was sitting there for a while before it was brought out, two groups sitting next to us who ordered ~10 minutes after us received their food at the same time. The best part of the meal by far was their toast with preserves. Overall this location is average at best. The food was good, but no better than you would find at most breakfast places. Service was ok, they give you a carafe of coffee and water, the server rarely stopped back by. We will probably try this establishment again at some point in time, but we strongly prefer the other breakfast place a little down the road. read more

I wouldn't say this is my favorite place to get breakfast, brunch, or lunch. The coffee is practically see through, and the menu can be confusing, but the service and location seem to make up for it. My food was nice enough, I got the '2 For You', which included half a salad and half a sandwich! I am an avocado lover, so I went with the Chicken Avocado Chop salad and The Monterey Club sandwich. The sandwich was amazing, though I recommend ordering without mayonnaise, as they put so much on that it almost drowns the rest of the ingredients. The salad was nice, but included black beans, tortilla chips, and corn- making it taste a bit more like something from Qdoba than I would have liked. Went on a early Saturday morning. No wait, sat quickly, and greeted very nice. It took around over 5 minutes for a server to show up. I noticed a few of the servers bickering over who was to wait on us. Finally one of them decided. She didn't seem very happy. We ordered drinks, it took a long time for them to come. I ordered a hot chocolate and the husband had coffee which was already at the table, we also ordered water. When the server brought our drinks she didn't take our food order. When she finally made it back, over 5 minutes later she took our order. When she brought the water jug and glasses, both glasses were dirty. Not just a little dirty, very dirty. She took them away when we told her and when she brought "clean" ones back, they were still dirty. Mine had very visible lip stick marks around the rim. At this point I'm trying my best to be nice. I ordered the BLTE sandwich, gluten free of course (I ordered my eggs on the side, scrambled) and a side order of grits. The husband ordered a large fruit salad and an order of grits. It took quite a while for our food to come which was odd because I'm sure most of what we ordered was more than likely already cooked except for my scrambled eggs and it wasn't busy at all. It all looked great with the exception of my husbands fruit salad. It didn't look fresh at all. The food was hot and outside of his fruit salad it was pretty tasty. Now mind you, this is a fairly new restaurant. I expected more. The restaurant wasn't clean. Visible food on the floor and seats. The dishes not spectacularly clean. My friend and I ate breakfast here this morning and it was good, a little on the pricey side for the amount of food but the food was good. No coffee options other than plain coffee which was disappointing. We ordered chopped avacado salads to go for work tonight as we work nightshift. When we opened our salads up tonight, the dressing had already been poured over the salads! Both salads were so soggy it was hard to eat them. They crispy tortilla strips were not even edible. I think if the salads were not saturated hours before they would have been good. read more

Stopped in here for a quick brunch on Saturday around 11:00. The wait was about 30 minutes - a bit too long for me but it is what it is. The hostesses and our server was nice but she was not too attentive. I decided I was ready for lunch by the time we were seated and ordered so I went with the Blue Booster (blueberry, white grape, lemon and basil juice) to drink and the Pick 2 deal with half the Roast Beef and Harvarti sandwich and Honey Pecan Salad. Both were phenomenal. The warm honey mustard dressing on the salad was something special. My sandwich could've used a little more meat but I was so hungry I didn't care. My boyfriend enjoyed his ' The Works ' omlet too but needed more jelly for his toast and the waitress was no where to be spotted. I was looking forward to visiting this place when it opened. I'm from California and we don't have any first watch out here. The food didn't disappoint, but I probably won't be back for a while. I'm giving a rating of four stars because I'm looking at the restaurant as a whole. Stars for the food, the hosts, and the guy who took care of the waitlist on his iPad (the manager?). The server needs to be retrained on costumer service. Emily was annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted when we sat down. Me and my fiancé felt rushed to order even though we weren't ready. She didn't visit our table to see how the food was after it hit the table. We had to flag another server down if we needed something. The restaurant was busy, we are ok with slow service. We understand servers get busy, but we didn't appreciate her acting like we were annoying for eating in the establishment. I rarely do not tip servers. Even if they totally messed up my order. I have never left a bad review but I really want First Watch Clarksville to fix these issues. We have been to this First Watch many times since their opening in 2018 and each time the water has tasted awful, the glasses are dirty and smell like wet dog. Like there's actually food particles still stuck to the glassware. Every. Time. We have mentioned it to the manager but nothing has changed. I always order a juice because the water tastes so bad! Today, we were charged $7 for a pot of coffee! I asked for a 'Red Medicine' drink and never received it. Waitress told us our sides would be ready 20 minutes after our Entree came out. We ordered the Eggs Benedict & Chile Chorizo and both were very bland. We had the same issue with quality of food the last few times we have gone. Waitress was very sweet but seemed distracted. Just a very bad experience over all. It's disappointing to spend $60 on a meal and walk away feeling like you just threw money down the drain. My biggest complaint has to be the water/dishware issue. Many people have complained about this issue since 2018 and still nothing has been done which is just strange to me. Invest in cleanliness & a water filter-- After 2 years of being open, at least provide clean glasses and water that doesn't taste awful! read more

This well known brunch spot is decent. I should disclose to you that I prefer eating local whenever possible, and if I do bust outside of my box for a chain...it has to be even better than the local equivalent would be. First Watch is a chain that doesn't necessarily do that. I do believe that Louisville has some premium local brunch options, so maybe in another city I would like First Watch more. I don't know. I guess that isn't what this review is about. The menu is pretty well varied and the pricing is reasonable though not on the cheaper end of reasonable. They have bacon that you can order as a side and it's called "million dollar bacon". It actually costs $5 and you get 4 slices. It's REALLY tasty (spicy, sweet, sticky/crunchy/chewy all at once) but I think maybe they should throw a couple more slices on there or lower the price by $1 or so. Just my opinion, however I guess I can't say they didn't warn me about the value. I ordered a build your own omelette basically even though it wasn't listed as an option on the menu. Weird. The skillet potatoes were great. I ordered a cold brew coffee which I found to be on the weak side. I like my coffee stout and straight up...in case you are looking for a reference point. I wish I had spent the extra dough and ordered a fresh pressed green juice. I really wanted one but was torn between throwing down for some "million dollar bacon" and a cold pressed juice. The non healthy choice won. Next time I will check it out and see how it compares with other juices I have had. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the immense amount of natural light that flows in from all directions. What a great experience! Parking is an issue at the moment because of construction, may have to park across the street to get a spot. Our server was Erica! She totally gave us options and told us what her favorite dish was. We ordered the kids waffles and sassage! One of our daughters ordered the chocolate chip pancake which was bigger than the one at ihop! Water came in an old milk jug type jar which was interesting. Very great food options and all fresh! My fiancée ordered the Pesto chicken quinoa bowl pictured below and I ordered the Chile chorizo. Service was perfect and we didn't have to wait more than 20 min for our food. Bathrooms were a bit small. 2 person bathroom for men and no changing table if you're a dad wanting to change your babies diaper but I would recommend this place. Hostesses did not appear to know what they were doing (looking at you, Brooklyn), came nowhere close to quoted wait times (put our name in online), and had really poor attitudes on top of it. The food was amazing!! The best brunch I have had in a long time! It got busy and my waiter couldn't bring us the check so another waiter dropped it off and I had to stop her and ask for a to-go box. Kinda seemed like I was bugging her because she wasn't our waiter. But she dropped off the box and kept it moving. When we checked out the Host asked about the experience and I told her I didn't like having to wait soooo long for the check and she discounted the meal. I've been here 5 times now. Food is good. But I don't think they have a dishwasher. Every single cup they have is visibly filthy and smells like a wet dog. Every time we're there the whole environment just looks and feels dirty. It's a shame because we really like the food but everytime I drink something it makes me lose my appetite.
