We tried this neat breakfast spot on restaurant row at Preston and forest Sw corner where there are 5-6 restaurants. We have been here many times before the pandemic but this was our first trip since then. Sundays are always crowded but they have reservation system that allows you to get in line before arrival. The ambiance is good and the service is very acceptable for a crowded restaurant. I think the can serve about 80-100 guests when full. Additionally they have several other locations around the city. The food is generally good to very good on a consistent bases. However, this was the first place I had the millionaire bacon back in 2017. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. The bacon is oven fried with maple syrup and a little red pepper flacks. But this time the bacon was a bust. Somehow they changed the recipe or new cooks not using the original recipe. Ok. This was my first time at this location. I must say, "I'm impressed with this franchise's consistency at each of its locations. The food was AWESOME. This was a very busy location and I had an opportunity to use my "Nowait app" that has been integrated with Yelp. It was so awesome. From Yelp, I was able to see a live "wait time" for seating. I then checked it from Yelp by placing my name, the number of people in my party, and my cell number. This is where I was able to watch the time tick down until my name would appear for a table. I timed it perfect. I was about 20 minutes from the location when I began my check-in. When I arrived there was a huge waiting line. Service was lacking, but I suspect the waitress was spread out too far. Other tables that were seated after us were served before us. Pomegranate Sunrise Brunch Cocktail - Tequila. Flavor is OK. Pomegranate flavor is not very strong. Morning Glory Brunch Cocktail - Vodka. Very watered down. Very weak alcohol content. Not very strong flavor, even orange juice taste watered down. Other spice flavors not present. It taste like a cup of orange juice that was watered down 3x. Chickichanga - Breakfast potatoes are soggy, but the flavor is good. Chimichanga is quite spicy; maybe medium to mild spice level. Flavor is OK; not super powerful, but not bland. Skillet Hash, Parma - Ordered poached easy eggs. Poached "easy" eggs came out hard. Sent dish back to the kitchen. 2nd time, one poached "easy" egg still came out hard & the other medium. Asked for another set of easy poached eggs & they came swimming in water - At least they were done easy this time. Very stingy on the cheese. You can hardly even notice it at all; you have to search very thoroughly for it. Breakfast potatoes are very soggy and wet, like they came directly from a boiling pot - the whole dish was swimming in water. Bland flavor. Italian sausage at least has a good flavor. Served with a small thing of berry mixed applesauce for the toast & a small ramekin of fruit. Pineapple was very NOT ripe. This dish was incredibly disappointing and I would not recommend it. I only ate about half before the texture was repulsive. I don't know how they do their poached eggs - they look like cottage cheese. You have to pay at the counter. Overall, I was incredibly disappointed with this experience, since I've heard so many great things about First Watch. Due to this experience, I would not recommend & I would not come back. read more

Their menu composed of healthy and regular food, breakfast and lunch food. Everything we ordered was so good and we could definitely taste to quality ingredients. We have visited this place twice so far and let me just tell you, the food has been amazing both times. I am unable to recall exactly what we got on both visits; I do know for sure that we did get the waffle, bacon, and their breakfast potatoes and just those few items I am able to recall were so good! The potatoes are full of flavor; the waffle is soft and fluffy, melting in your mouth with each bite! It can get busy for sure so expect to have a short wait...they move quick. While waiting to go to our table I overheard a guy come in and ask the hostess if she would seat their party of 13 now for $20. She took the cash and seated their party at 4 different tables. Probably bumping 4 other people later. That party also got to order earlier than we did even though we get seated earlier. I guess this location it's you get what you pay for. We thought we placed an order of the lemon ricotta pancake but instead the waiter brought us one pancake. He said because we said one he gave us one. Whereas the order says there should be 2 in and order. The one cost us $8.50 versus the two would have been $10. The one option is not listed on the menu so we had no idea you could order only one. The pancake was dry and definitely over cooked, but the lemon curd was delicious. The fritatta also was over cooked and very dry. Again I normally like this chain but definitely don't recommend this location. It doesn't appear to be up to par. read more

Damian was my server and he was so nice, patient, and kind. It took me forever to decide what I wanted and Damian responded "this is not a drive through, take your time" and I did! It took me over ten minutes to decide what I wanted as they have a great selection of breakfast and brunch items as well as a summer menu. I decided to start with their morning meditation juice, which is a combo of beets, oranges, and deliciousness!! It was super refreshing and cool. I was so sad to see the last of it disappear in my glass. I finally decided to order the Market hash scramble that came with their house potatoes, two eggs any style, spinach, onions, peppers, mozzarella, spices, and even more deliciousness! The scramble was super fresh, warm, and gooey good! On the side was their thick multigrain toast and house made preserves. I tried the preserves and they are fresh and not overly sweet! I wanted to keep eating more, but I was stuffed from the side of grits that I ordered and the Turkey sausage! I love that First Watch gives you a good and fresh portion of food, so there are always leftovers. Also, I love that they use local items whenever possible. We decided to try this place today for brunch! I was soo yummy. Service was a little slow, but I assume that's BC they hadn't been busy for the past couple weeks and today was the busiest. Our waitress was super nice and very helpful when it came to the menu. I wish I would've gotten her name, but she was African American with braids and I believe she had some red in her hair. Super sweet and funny girl! We ordered the tacos and instead of beans I got potatoes. All which were so yummy! I'd never heard of this place before but I'm so happy we decided to give it a try. I noticed that the people up front aren't really loud when they call people to let them know their tables ready. I've been to different First Watch restaurants in TX, and this one wasn't the best experience. Met up with 3 girl friends for brunch. I do like that you can get in line through the Yelp app prior to actually getting there, because the wait is sometimes crazy. They seated me before the rest of my party got there which is another good thing. The bad things started when I noticed lip prints on my glass, one of the other girls had a filthy coffee mug and another girl had dirty silverware. Our server was really nice and managed to keep a level head as he got all of that sorted out. The pancakes were fluffy, the syrup was warm, and the lemon curd added a nice zing to lessen the sweetness of the entrée. The only issue was that the food took 45 minutes to come out. My friend had the cereal (I think it was cinnamon toast crunch) iced coffee and it didn't really taste like anything so I don't recommend that. read more

I did not get a Belgian waffle, instead I got bread with butter. I had to re-request the Belgian waffle. When it came, it was delicious. The highlight of my meal. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Really, really, good. I would get that again for sure. My mom ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs. She loved her eggs. The biscuit was fresh and not dense. She liked it a lot. The gravy was not very good and very thin flavor. She did not like it. The wife ordered the traditional breakfast. Her eggs were good, but she ordered toast and got nothing. I gave her my bread with butter, which is not toast unless you toast it. It was not toasted. For me, there were too many missteps to give a 4 star rating.
