* $$ FOOD: Always tasty and with generous portions; sadly our waitress failed to bring one or two items (chicken apple sausage left in the kitchen) for one of our party's plate. Otherwise everyone had very enjoyable food offerings. SERVICE: We were seated at 11:05 for brunch and it was apparent that our waitress was overwhelmed or had too many tables. Unfortunately First Watch continues to serve excellent coffee but milk is presented in miniature "milk jugs" from a bygone era, each holding less milk than a thimble. We were given 3 thimbles for four guests. We asked at once for more "thimbles" knowing we are coffee devotees and were eager for more. Minutes later a bus from Shell Pointe (we think) dropped off 15 (!) elderly folks setting up on about 4 tables, and we were astonished to see our harried waitress take that collection to waitress that group. Two other waitresses divided up so we had more than one server. Truthfully it was 11:50 before more thimbles of milk arrived. Dreadful. Awful. AMBIANCE: Average to above average. Not terribly loud, thankfully. SUMMARY: We have enjoyed First Watch ever since they opened their 4 places in the county. This was such a problem experience that we may just try different locations since the overall food and charges are well within normal limits. My wife and I went into first watch today for the first time. our server stacie did a amazing job on explaining the menu and recommended the kale tonic witch I got and my wife also got the pineapple express. They were both amazing. I also got the bec sandwitch and my wife got the steak hash which our server also told us that both of the were her favorites. She's a wonderful server and you can definitely tell she likes what she does. She offered us a $50 gift card and you get $10 First Watch bucks but we live out of town so we didn't get one this time. Great food, great service, it's my go-to place for a dependable, delicious breakfast. The coffee sucks, so I always have my coffee before going there. I've complained about the coffee for years. Our waiter was wonderful and the hostess was so fun..loved our food which was the quiche that came with fruit and this amazing cinnamon roll. Our favorite first watch! So much better than the one on university plaza drive, worth the drive. Food was bussin! Servers were so friendly and got our orders right. They are very busy on a Sunday but we only had a 5-10 min wait. There was only a few wilted leafs in my salad. The chickichanga was cooked perfectly and looked photo worthy. We came here for breakfast on Saturday because First Watch has good food and a big selection which will satisfy everyone's palate. We had been to this location a couple times as it is the closet location coming from Cape Coral/North Fort Myers. As soon as we walked in, we felt the harvest season. They updated their seasonal items and of course the pumpkin pie spice creamer were already here for your coffee. I ordered the braised short rib benedict and I really liked it. I had reviewed another location of First Watch. In that review I noted the food was good, and everything else (service, prices, cleanliness) about the restaurant was fine. However, there was one big problem: they don't serve hash browns, but rather "seasoned potatoes," and they were super salty...to the point that I couldn't finish them. Well, at this First Watch location, they got it all right. The pancakes were delicious as usual, and the potatoes were not overly seasoned like previously. My wife got a chicken sandwich and salad, and she said it was also very tasty. The server, Marisa, was very friendly and helpful, and made the visit even more enjoyable. My husband and I visited the College Parkway location. This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. Our server was awesome. The food was great. I believe Toni is the name of our server. Stopped in today saw a few new things on the menu so I gave them a try. Gingerbread donut holes with two dipping sauces as a starter and Barbacoa Benedict . It's always frustrating when you order a Starter and it comes out with the meal I know it's breakfast but the holes were awesome sweet and cooked to perfection and would have been a great warm up to the main meal. Now on to the Benedict it sounded beautiful poached eggs, braised beef ciabatta bread with Hollandaise and a side of lemon greens! What came out was two eggs cooked hard as a rock ciabatta bread burnt and greens that could not have had any dressing. I just don't understand who let's food leave the kitchen that is not correct. This is my absolute favorite brunch place! My mom and I always visit when I'm home from college, and leave feeling healthy, happy, and satisfied. The customer service is always wonderful too. Over the years of coming, we've had a number of different waiters and waitresses, and they are always perky, fast, and helpful. They occasionally change their layout, so it's fun to see the updates. It's always very clean! There's an open kitchen and you can see how nice they keep everything. I LOVE their avocado toast and scrambles. The bread and muffins are great! Recently, I found out I have a gluten allergy - so substituting the bread has been easy (I personally like ordering the greens- the light dressing is perfect). I recommend the Bacado Omelet or Frittata Rustica (easy to make paleo/gluten friendly) for healthier options. The TriFecta is great too if you're wanting something light. Pro-Tip: You can ask for your omelet scrambled, I like that so my toppings are in every bite (not that they ever skimp on toppings anyway) You also can't go wrong with their juices. My mom and I like to split the morning meditation or kale tonic, and they bring it in separate glasses for us (we feel like a whole one each is just too filling). Their ice tea is great - and they will bring you a to go cup if you want to take your refill with you. First watch has always been a solid four-star restaurant, since it opened in Fort Myers long ago. The manager of the College Parkway location was the best I've seen at a First Watch. Two or three months ago she moved to one of the Naples Stores. I was concerned. Slowly, I've seen changes that have taken this location below the average service given by other first watch locations. A few minutes ago, my fears were realized. The get up and go attitude, that used to be so prevalent at this location, has gotten up and gone! What a shame. This business oriented location only had half of their tables occupied during the lunch hour on a Friday. Wow, the business people must have found it to be too slow. I was in a hurry. Cool not as many people...right? Not this time. We spent 15 minutes awaiting a server, the last five of which I was leaning out into the aisle to gain someone's attention, to NO avail. There are 8 sandwiches on the menu and you can add seasoned potatoes for $2.99. It's clean and bright and most tables seat 4. I ordered the pick 2 which was only $7.79 for 1/2 sandwich and salad. The rating should really be closer to 3.5 but it doesn't get a 4 star simply because the portion size to cost factor isn't up to par with other 4 star places I've been to. I had the barbacoa Benedict and my gf had the avocado toast. Let's take a step back. The place is nice, clean, open. Feels like a real kitchen that uses fresh ingredients. The biggest reason I knew this was that they literally have the word fresh written on everything. Even the wall has it written in large print. ok already! I get it, it's fresh. They have interesting drink combos (fresh ... of course, juices and culinary drink blends) I didn't try any of them. The server was quick and good, she was friendly. Food came fast. Price was around $10-12 a person. The barbacoa Benedict was tasty but not worth the price. Beef was tender and had a good flavor, but it was such a small portion, maybe a tacos worth of meat, on a bread, smaller than half of an Italian roll. Then some mixed greens which were...yea I'm not even gonna say it haha ...fresh But honestly it was like any other mixed greens, nothing special. And that was the meal. It was small and I was still very hungry when I was done. I wouldn't order it again. My gf did like the avocado toast but she wasn't feeling well and didn't want to finish her meal so I finished it off for her and i can say that the sandwich was on very soft buttery bun that was good, bacon was legit, her meal came with potatoes and was much heartier. We were all set out to enjoy an early morning breakfast and headed to First Watch which we've considered really reliably great - we've been to a number of their locations across the country. Man the wheels totally fell off today. The power bowl was desperately in need of a sauce or a dressing - instead there was a huge heap of just quinoa and few vegetables or legumes... just an egg.. BORRRRING My kale and mozzarella frittata looked so promising but after a few bites I realized it was true: I was eating GRIT. The crunch and mouthfeel was sandlike and it was clear - they neglected to properly wash their kale. When the waitress brought back another one after I had notified her of the problem, SAME. So. Much. Grit!! They clearly weren't taking me seriously, so I gave up, went home, and made my own dirt-free eggs. 2 stars for having a normally good product and they did serve us some killer beet-turmeric-pineapple juices, but First Watch Ft Myers needs to WATCH their kale cleaning more closely!! read more
