Finally went to try this place out, although I was a little hesitant based on some of the reviews. Was underwhelming to say the least. Husband ordered his entree and also added 2 extra eggs, when food arrived, I was shocked to see how little the amount of eggs were. They insisted the added eggs were there but for close to $4 more (for 2 extra eggs), we would expect to see a difference in his entree versus mine... my seasoned potatoes were super burnt and lacked flavor. The best thing on my plate were the toast and that's pretty bad considering we both ordered full entrees. Gave 2 stars since my son really enjoyed his chocolate chip pancake from the kid's menu. I don't think we will be coming back, we will probably stick with our usual breakfast/brunch spot from now on. Quite disappointing. read more

Took about 10 minutes to have our order taken and another 45 minutes to get our food. No refills or checking while we waited. Stumbled upon this new spot in Mckinney not far from our house. I was kindof skeptical but looked it up before we entered and there was enough of a variety on the menu I had faith it would be a great experience. I didn't get our waiters name but he was professional and gave great service. The hostesses were very sweet and welcoming! We recognized one of the hostesses from another food spot we love, she's always so friendly! Both of our dishes were tasty. Great coffee! The food is excellent. So we can start there. If that's all that's important to you, then this is your place. Where they fell down is in service. They're new, so there was a wait, which is fine. Once seated they took our order right away. Also good. Then came a 45 minutes delay with NO attention. No refills of beverages, although there was a coffee pot on the table all other beverages ran out long before the food arrived. Our table was wobbly and we stopped someone and asked them to fix it, but they said they would have to turn the table upside down to do it. So, it wobbled back and forth with every bite. The food is great, but the service stinks. I'd give this a 5 if not for this. And zero places to stand in wait while you're waiting for your table for 1. Scratch that...there's chairs for 3 to wait. Service ALWAYS slow. Really a shame, because the food is top notch. Skillets, breakfast tacos...really never had a bad meal. Pancakes are the best. But I always end up frustrated by the service. If your not on the wait list from yelp or google and you walk in the restaurant and put your name on the list and been told that your wait time is thirty minutes and somebody from yelp or google puts there name on the waitlist as well. Not sure I understand the low rating here. First off the service has been great the times we come. We come to eat here when heading to Costco. The food is really good. They have a nice twist on many traditional dishes. There is something for everyone. Kids love the French toast and vanilla chai pancakes. I've had the Italian twist on a skills and the Bacado. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast today. It was cooked to perfection and was a generous portion. The only problem is deciding which delicious dish to choose from. I love that they leave a carafe of coffee, tea, or water with you on the table. Our food assistant was Ashley and this lovely lady is multi-faceted, organized, and a real sweetheart. We came in on a Sunday morning, and did seating via yelp so we wouldn't have to wait. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and that was the highlight of our dining experience. We never received our waters, and had to make multiple trips to the front to grab the water from the pitcher for people waiting to be seated. Once the food arrived, it wasn't warm and we were missing items. We explained this to the waitress, and she didn't seem apologetic and acted as if we were the ones providing a disservice to her. Or perhaps the bus boys were taking over for the cooks. The food was so bad. "Million Dollar Bacon (waitress didn't even know why it was called that or what the difference was in this and smoked) was horrible. Drenched in sugar. Biscuits and gravy... seems simple enough. The food is what saved this review from getting a one star. The food here is not the issue. The Service was just terrible. Server got our food wrong and charged us for extra things we did not order. We told the food runner that we were supposed to have potatoes instead of the salad, so the runner took the whole plate around the restaurant just to return it and tell us "oh I was supposed to leave this here". The eggs on the plate were cold, we didn't want them to remake it because it took 25 minutes to get our food anyways. Once we get to the cashier to pay, the owner was up there. So, we've tried this place a few times, it is nice but, they always have drama in the back; not sure what it is but.... Today was the last straw. We walked in, we have a service animal; the girl at the register goes to the back takes forever, then a tall African American girl comes in and very unprofessional she asked me what was the disability. I told her and at the same time someone startled my dog and she jumped; she was very rude and told me " your dog can't jump on the furniture " at that point I was ready to walk, I think she is new because I've never seen her before, anyway we sat down and, waited for a long time before anyone came to take our order. I told the waitress that I was in a rush but that we needed a minute, she didn't come back for awhile, by then I had realized I didn't have time to stay so I left, my wife stayed and placed her order, it was 11.17, She finally got her food 25 minutes later.... This is about the average time this place takes ALL THE TIME. I know because I was there once and It took 35 minutes to get my food...... how is this even possible??? To make matters worse, that same African American lady was the one that brought the food and my wife was just done, the lady never apologized , she made my wife wrong When my wife said " I don't want the food it has taken way to long... she asked my wife. "What do you want me to do with your food??? Implying That she was going to be charged for this food...My wife had to tell her... I do not want it and I'm not paying it has taken too long. She asked her to charge her for a drink she had ordered, as she was walking away she whispered " hilarious " which is so so rude, my wife later when she came back to charge my wife for the drink told her that she didn't appreciate her rude remark and instead of taking ownership she said " it is just because we have chaos in the back", she was raising her hands at my wife and my wife told her to come down, that she had a smart mouth, then she finally calmed down and apologized to my wife. There was another person who shared w my wife that he had been waiting for ONE HOUR for his food....?????? I don't know what is happening at this place but I do know that they will probably not make it.... It seems like they always have new people and it is terrible. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else...... I do hope that management takes action because they will lose a lot of clients this way. read more

Visited this place for the first time today. I am a Keto eater so it's normally hard to find good selections. The menu here was great and there were several suitable items to choose from. I chose the "works" omelet topped with gruyere cheese and avocado instead of toast. The omelette tasted and looked superb. Arrived a little before 11:30 on a Sunday, got on the wait list, and was called in 30 minutes. Seated and order up mimosas, which came in about 10 minutes. Ordered our food, and waited for 45 minutes. Waitress comes over (first time in 45 minutes) and says she will check on our food. Wait another 15 minutes and she comes back and says it should be out soon. An hour we've waited, for eggs! Meanwhile, take out food is flying off the shelf! So dine-in customers, who buy drinks and tip more, get pushed behind online customers. No thanks! Food was really good, once it got there, so thus the 2 stars. read more

I eagerly anticipated the opening of First Watch on US380 (right in front of Costco). We live a couple of miles away and this is the perfect location for us to enjoy a weekend breakfast. Our favorite spot, Eggquisite, is further away and not as convenient to get to, so we were really excited for First Watch to open. We went early on a Sunday morning, hoping to miss the church rush. We were in luck.. the wait was only about 20 minutes. The few seats they had in the lobby were taken, so we sat outside on the bench. It was a beautiful day and we welcomed sitting in the sun for a bit. Our table came up right on time. We walked back in the lobby and had to maneuver our way inside. There really isn't much of a lobby to speak of and it was crowded with other waiting customers. I'm short, and seemingly invisible, so I had to sort of shove my way up to the host stand to be seen. That first impression is a big one for me. The host barely glanced at us and distractedly walked us to our table. It took about 15 minutes before our server came to greet us or offer water. She had zero personality. She did not look at us once, speaking to us while looking elsewhere in the restaurant. Shortly after, she took our orders, and we didn't see her again until we were done. Food runners brought our entrees and we ate our entire meal without seeing our server. I ordered the Carnitas Breakfast Burrito. It was good. The portion was just right, not too much. Once we were done, we sat about another 10 minutes before she finally came over to ask if she could take my plate and get our bill. We walked up to the front (you pay in the same tiny lobby that is already over-crowded with other waiting customers). The host who sat us asked how everything was. We told him the meal was fine, but our server was terrible. He barely blinked an eye and immediately handed us a $10 off coupon for our next meal. He was so quick to draw that coupon, it seemed as if he had a handful of them tucked in his fist just for this purpose. As if he expected it. He offered a watered-down, "Sorry about that, I'll look into it", with that same glassed over look on his face as when he greeted us when we came in. Overall, the food was pretty good, but nothing extraordinary. I don't think we'll come back again. Despite the close proximity to where we live, it's just not worth the lackluster service. Eggquisite Cafe down the road, is a much more warm and welcoming experience. read more
