Even with covid this place is packed to the brim. Forewarning to go orders take excessively longer it's better to just ask for a table and wait. We had ordered our food through mobile site and paid through the site the range of time it would be ready said 10:00 am (placed at 9:40 am) well we waited till 11:00 am. We watched people arrive way after us be seated and given their orders. Due to covid I assumed it would be more efficient to order to go but boy did we regret it. I'm giving this Firstwatch a one star review because zero stars is not an option. I went there with my father this morning for Father's Day. My father is an 80 year old disabled Vietnam era vet with Parkinson's who uses a walker to get around. We were put on the waiting list by the host outside and I asked if we could wait inside because of my father. She pointed to an area inside where we could wait and we went in. Once inside another server or hostess came up and said there is no waiting inside. I told her that the girl outside said it was fine because of my father. The inside girl then rudely repeated "there isn't any inside waiting". To which I replied, "not a problem, we are leaving". I'm disgusted with their treatment of my father this morning and will never set foot in that location again. read more

First time eating here. First impression the environment was very nice, food smelled delicious, hostess was very polite. My coffee cup had some lipstick left on it which wasn't such a big issue because I wasn't going to get coffee. Food was good and waitress was friendly and nice. After receiving our food she kind of left us alone which is good, except she never came back to refill water. Also we had let her know that we had not been there before but when we got our checks she didn't (probably forgot) to tell us to pay up front. I come here on Sunday morning probably 1-2x a month. It can get busy but I love the waitlist option using the yelp app because I'm you can get in line before you even arrive at the restaurant. Their menu is super extensive and has a strong offering of healthy options. I also love that they always have a seasonal menu. The atmosphere is bright and clean and the service has always been outstanding. Guillermo has been our server a few times and always goes above and beyond. I'm going to give this place 5 stars because I truly feel this is the casual, sit down, healthy breakfast option that San Antonio needs. Their decor and overall theme is very quaint and rustic, and they really have stepped it up from their former entity, The Egg & I. Skillet Hash Parma, that was loaded with flavor and perfectly cooked potatoes. The husband had something off their seasonal menu, which was a farmers sausage sandwich with this yummy apple butter. The waitress did a great job at up selling us their Millionaire's Bacon which was very, very savory and sweet. It was delicious but 4 slices for $4.99 was excessive. I've been searching for a place like this fresh delicious food. Their slogan is something like we will great you with a cup of coffee and a newspaper. We didn't get a newspaper but we were greeted with a hot cup of coffee and some extra in a thermos just as we sat down and our server confirmed we wanted coffee. The coffee was fresh, hot and well balanced, it wasn't so strong it was bitter and not weak either, it was just good, I didn't even use cream in it, just enjoyed every sip of its flavor. There was so much in the menu that I wanted to try and order but I ordered from their seasonal menu, pumpkin pancakes and apple sausage. The pumpkin pancake was large, fluffy, and perfectly toasted on the edges! It had the right amount of pumpkin flavor with out over doing it. It was so tasty I didn't even need syrup! It was just goooood, I highly recommend you get over to First Watch and indulge in their seasonal menu to celebrate fall some how. They had plenty of seating and it looked like they had a separated seating area for let's say a large group or a meeting. It wasn't completely closed off. Our server Glen was excellent. Worst service. Came here for lunch to order kids a pancake and a Superfruit bowl. No utensils given, had to get up and get them myself. Drinks weren't offered. Ordered for the kids first, needed a minute to decide what to eat. Server took over 10 minutes to come back to take my order. Minding the place is not that busy. Finally tried out this place. It is such a cute, family friendly environment. I love that they give you the coffee pots so you can refill as you want. It's kind of like a old-school café, but with a modern, healthy twist. I like their selection. It is a vast variety so even if you don't love breakfast, you can still get some thing here. Perhaps I try the wrong item but the reason for three stars is I found their pancake really lacking. Tell me a pecan cake is supposed to be soft chewy and delicious. We had what felt like over cooked pancakes crispy on the outside, and just overall fell flat. I had the trifecta the eggs and bacon were good but I mean, they're just eggs and bacon, so how can you go wrong with this? The main item were the pancakes; I tried both my son's pancake and my pancake and felt that they were really not good. In fact, I did not finish my pancake and left the majority. Husband got the waffle and said it was OK but did not care for the "healthy "taste. I want to love this area so I'll probably give them a second chance but if the second time around the food is still lacking. I probably won't be back. read more

I came in with my wife with high expectations after reading the reviews and we left with mixed reviews. Bottom line is that the food is phenomenal but the service is fair to poor. We put our name in and waited 20 mins to be seated which didn't bother us. After being seated it took more than 10 mins for a server to approach us. By then we just ordered our brunch and 2 drinks. After another 10-15 mins we finally got our drinks. I think in total we saw our server on 4 occasions under 30 secs each. I think from the time we put our names in until we had food, was about an hour. Once the food arrived it was amazing. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her egg sandwich. I ordered the chickichanga which was superb. The home fries were also very good. You can tell the chefs really take their food seriously. Once it was time to pay the bill, you have to go up to the hostess stand where they are pulling double duty taking people's names, seating people, and cashing out customers. The hostess area is not that large so there was some people tripping over people for a bit. They really should consider the servers cashing out the tickets to reduce the traffic. So the food was great, service blah. We will try it again because a server said they were "short staffed" today, but they should review their front of the house flow. read more

The breakfast here is amazing and service has always been great. There are so many different options on the menu which isn't usually the case when you are vegetarian. I always have a hard time deciding what to get because everything is so good! I have not been vegetarian for that long so before I decided to switch to a plant based diet I would always get their million dollar bacon and it's AMAZING! Literally the one thing that makes me regret going vegetarian lol. Highly recommend for breakfast but go into it knowing there may be a wait. The food is excellent but they have coffee cups sitting on the tables and don't remove the un used ones after each customer. So there might be 3 customers sitting at that table before you breathing all over those cups before you drink out of it. Also watch them clean the tables next to me and they never wiped the table. If they don't clean in front of you where you can see image the kitchen where you can't see. But they require you to wear a mask to protect you from Covid. I came here for coffee and to do some work on a Tuesday morning and it's so cute! The hostess took a while to greet and seat me but I was looking at everyone's food and it looked great.
