That's just a fail, and it suggests a place that doesn't bother keeping things fresh. It kind of went downhill from there. We were looking for nice fresh fish and chips, wile we were out along the coast. We live near the coast ourselves, and are no strangers to good seafood. We decided to do the Cod and the Halibut fish and chips. While the halibut seemed fresh, the cod was waxy and looked old, and frankly i found it somehow mildly nauseating. I couldn't bring myself to teat it. The batter was crsipy, but lacked seasoning and tasted really flat (cardboard?). Aside from that, the coleslaw seemed pretty old soggy. Gross. Not impressed at all - some of the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Some people may like this kind of food - but i will actively avoid this place the next time in Astoria. Each dish comes with an amazing Nicaraguan pico, rice and bean, plantains and fried cheese. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. The atmosphere is very chill and quiet. The Willapa Bay oysters were served with a tangy mignonette, which was pretty darn good. I can say the lobster roll was good too, as they tasted crunchy and creamy. All in all, great seafood! My main critique is that portions were considerably small for the amount I paid for the food. I left satisfied but not full, so I would not come here if you're craving something more satiating. The restaurant is formatted to be more of a sports bar, good for socialization, drinking and having small bites.

In particular, we absolutely loved the pickled rockfish, salmon chowder, salted chocolate caramel custard and house-made citrus NA ginger ale. We happily enjoyed our meal while watching ships, seals, birds and ocean life. The server told us about the ships and even a podcast report to learn more about passing vessel traffic. It simply made me want to return for a longer and slower visit! Maybe to sit by the fire pit out front while watching life go by. A bonus was a (free) EV hook up adjacent to the property.

We got our bread and basically finished it before we got our drinks. The bartender was new and she was looking at physical recipes to make each of our drinks. Im glad we weren't in a hurry. The view is outstanding and you can sit outside in the nice weather which we had that day because the inside is very small. We even saw a sea lion swimming off the pier as we enjoyed our drinks. A little pricey for what you get but overall still good but not somewhere I would return to with all the other options in the area.

Very clean and even upscale. I'd definetly come back and try more things off the menu. I saw a couple get some excelent looking cokctails and a mimosa flight, which consisted of full size mimosas. :)
