We have been here many times and the service is mostly great. The food is mostly great. We've has everything from Nachos to seafood platters. The only thing we've experienced to be not up to par was the boiled crawfish. It's as if they boil them in unseasoned water and then sprinkle some seasoning and provide you with extra seasonings. I drove behind the establishment to park) It was a to-go order so I didn't take photos of the food. However, the fact that myself and my girlfriends were so impressed by the quality of food and how it well it was prepared has us planning for our next seafood night. Tucked away in the corner of Wolf Ranch shopping center you'll find this delight. It's shared parking so be ready to walk a little if you can't find anything close to the entrance. After 30 mins I inquired and they said they "texted 10 minutes ago" Never got it but a bunch of people who came after us got in before us. Showed the waitress my phone to confirm. Nitro had practically zero heat and Volcano - not sure of the word but supposedly hottest so I braced myself for what turned out was normal crawfish heat. The crawfish were large and good. My wife ordered pasta with blackened yellowtail. It arrived cold. Practically refrigerator cold. We normally don't return food, but this plate went back. Then tried to order an Old Fashioned with Brandy instead of Bourbon because that's how it's done up North. But no, the restaurant doesn't offer brandy anymore because of 1 bad review in the past. I really can't say enough good things about Fish City Grill. I always have an outstanding seafood meal there and warm and welcoming service. On a recent busy Saturday there with my son, we sat at the bar and got some delicious catfish and grilled shrimp, while my son had the fried cod. The cole slaw here is apple cider vinegar based and super delicious. Everything is always hot and super fresh. Our server /bartender Josh was friendly and efficient while being very busy making cocktails. The management is always on top of things and making sure you have a pleasant experience. Today I placed an order to be delivered to my home from this establishment. I ordered a few menu items for Thing One and I. Smokin' Hot Shrimp- This appetizer was on point. The salty, sharp flavor of the Blue Cheese combined with the heat from the chipotle sauce was a nice pairing. Serafin's Fish Tacos- While I love the idea of a fish taco wrapped like a burrito, this menu item was lackluster and the contents were limp. Specifically, I mean this menu item lacked a crisp punch that a dish made with cabbage and pico should carry. I think this has much to so with the fact that this item was prepared as a to-go item as opposed to a eaten in the establishment. If you think about a to-go item vs. any meal eaten at an establishment, you know that the menu item must travel from the establishment to your location causing the item to cool and become limp as it simmers in the plastic to-go container. The flavor profile was okay but missing the 'punch'. Fish City Sandwich- Thing One had this item and was pleased with the fry on the fish. However, he was not as pleased with the soggy fries that accompanied his sandwich. read more

I used to love Fish City Grill but despite showing up as a place that's good for kids, it absolutely is not for small children. They remodeled their women's restroom to include only one stall and removed the changing table. When I asked management, I was told that higher ups took it out because "moms were leaving the changing station covered in poop." She suggested I go out to my car and change my baby in the afternoon heat in August. Absolutely unbelievable. I have seen changing tables at many places both high and lower end and I've never seen one that the manager described. They clearly don't want families with young children coming to their establishment. Message received! read more

Excellent experience at linch today at one of our local favorites: fish City Grill at Wolf Ranch just down from Target. Service was terrific being both attentive and botherless. Began with a peach margarita with tequila you could actually taste. Next my clam chowder and hubbie's gumbo both proved tasty and memorable. The trout was cooked beautifully and husband's stuffed flounder also met his expectations. Don't pass up the chocolate cheesecake/mousse desert either as you'll be totally satisfied. Love the Smokin' Hot Shrimp as an appetizer. Despite its name its not but has a lovely delicate general tso like spice tang level on a bed of crisp salad. I could have just eaten that!! I brought my mother here for her birthday dinner because we both love seafood! The place is clean, smells nice (yes I judge seafood restaurants that smell "fishy"), and it was surprisingly quick to get a table for dinner. The server made several excellent recommendations to our picky eaters, and we landed on oysters, fried pickles, and shrimp and crab queso for appetizers. The oysters were fresh and delicious, a the other appetizers were also a hit. I tried the lobster and shrimp grilled cheese at the recommendation of my server and WOW! It was rich, buttery, cheesy, and had a little heat to it. I did want for more spice, some extra sriracha was needed.
