Queso Fundido with Homemade Octopus Chorizo: Delicious creamy warm melted queso with lots of nice spices. Fish & Chips: I can totally understand why this is a favorite here. The fish pieces are plump and high quality, no dark meat fishy bits in this cod. Nice amount of batter too. If you are in the mood for fish, guess you're going to the Fish Restaurant, right? This waterfront seafood fast casual establishment is exactly the type of tourist trap you might imagine. Long lines, ridiculous prices, and ok food. The location is nice. I'll give them that. On a nice sunny California day you get to enjoy the views while eating fresh seafood. The staff is also amazingly friendly and efficient despite the chaos. That being said, everything else is mostly questionable. When you get there, there are LONG lines before you can ever even look at the menu. Seemed like 90%+ of the folks in line weren't Bay Area locals. Then you look at the prices and even I had to do a double take. Don't get me wrong, the food was fresh but holy... I can expect better prices in prime locations in the heart of SF. The place is definitely a tourist trap. But considering the location was nice, the staff was good, and the food while overpriced for what it was, was actually fresh and properly prepared - I'd give them 3.5 stars. read more

This was our first time stopping here on a road trip and frankly we did not feel the food lived up to the menu or prices! We paid 45$ for a crab pasta and 42$ for a crab roll. The crab roll is not a roll! And it is simply crab slapped on bread. The crab pasta sauce was supposed to be garlic butter in flavor. The sauce is completely watery, so again it tastes just like crab slapped on plain pasta. The crab was yummy but we would have expected more finesse and delicious flavor for such simple dishes at this price point. The bbq oysters were okay and the tiramisu, which is one of my favorite desserts, was very underwhelming. There was something acrid tasting in the cream/coco powder top layers and the bottom layer was too over soaked. On a bright and sunny day, Fish. is the best place to be! The restaurant itself is quite popular and has outdoor seating directly on a dock overlooking parked boats. My competitive hacky sack club got a dozen oysters which were fresh and meaty. One of us got the sardine salad, which was fresh, light, perfectly salty, and a perfect dish to have on a sunny day. We also got the KFC bao which was a korean style sweet glazed cod wrapped in a sweet steamed bao. This is a new menu item, and it seems as though there are more asian inspired flavors in the menu (poke and bao). I had the New England Clam chowder with garlic bread (not pictured) and fries for the table (not pictured). The clam chowder was flavorful, savory, and creamy. The garlic bread was generous in garlic and delightfully crunchy. Last, the fries are incredible. They pair wonderfully with anything on the menu and are a MUST add on any dish. The biggest qualm I have is with price. I used to love their crab and lobster roll but unfortunately they have removed the lobster roll from their menu, and the crab roll is now $42. The only crab alternative is the salad, which also cost $42. There is always a long wait, but the line moves quite quickly. In our club, Fish. is reserved for special occasions due to the steep price, but you pay for 4 star food and a 5 star view. read more

I ordered a Ceasar Salad, Clam Chowder, Tuna Melt, Fish and Chips, and an Arnold Palmer. The Ceasar Salad was decent, but needed more dressing. Clam Chowder was good and fresh. Well seasoned, I just added black pepper for a little kick. The Tuna Melt was very good, except it didn't have any cheese. You can't call it a Tuna Melt without cheese melting, am I right? Flavor profile was there, just the detail of the cheese was left out. Fish and Chips were good. Fish was Cod, fried perfectly with a nice crunchy beer batter. Chips were seasoned perfectly. The Arnold Palmer didn't have much flavor. Watered down. I wouldn't order it again. Next time, a Sprite will do. The service was good, everyone behind the counter was polite and they acknowledged me as I was leaving. FOOD: Linguine w/ Clams (10/10) - Delicious!! Al Dente homemade noodles with a TON of clams and a hint of red pepper. Would come back just to eat this again, highly recommend!! Fish & Chips (8/10) - Super juicy pieces of cod served with a ton of potato wedges. A bit too much batter on the fish, but overall still good! Trout Dog (7/10) - A unique hot dog made from trout! It's a cute spot and a popular choice to stop off during a bike ride or after a day hiking in Marin. There is a decent selection of fish and seafood on the menu but negatives for me are price and the fact that everything seems to be ridiculously over-seasoned. I was here with a largeish group for a birthday so got to see quite a few of the dishes. A friend and I both ordered from the specials board and went with the Asian BBQ albacore sandwich which was $32(!) but then other dishes weren't much cheaper. I was expecting a hint of seasoning, but unfortunately it was entirely overpowered by it and barely discernible as fish, both in terms of flavor and texture, in fact more reminiscent of brisket. A few other dishes were apparently very garlicky or otherwise highly seasoned which makes me wonder about the quality of ingredients - why choose high grade seafood only to smother it in something that completely masks the taste? Fresh, locally caught fish really only needs the simplest and lightest of touches. For the sandwich and a beer, after tip, it was north of $50 which is frankly ridiculous even for a touristy place. I wouldn't be entirely against coming back on rare occasion but there are much better options around in terms of quality, value for money, and appropriate use of seasoning. read more
