Came here with a group because I've been craving sauerkraut fish ever since my last trip to Taiwan, and Fish With You definitely hit the spot. We started with the crispy fried pork and grilled giant squid skewers as appetizers. Both were well seasoned and a good start to the meal. The highlight for me was the sauerkraut fish. We upgraded to the snakehead fish and the texture was really good -- silky, bouncy, and tender. The broth had a nice level of spice and paired perfectly with rice. We also ordered the golden soup beef slices which had tender meat and came with a nice variety of ingredients like tofu skin and noodles. The coconut curry fish was another favorite at the table because of the creamy flavor with a slight kick of spice. The stir-fried chicken definitely brought the heat with plenty of chilies throughout the dish. The decor was definitely unique and caught our attention right away -- it honestly gave us some Temu vibes. Overall, if you're a fan of sauerkraut fish or looking to try something different in Koreatown, this spot is worth checking out.

Golden Soup with Fish and Beef

This spot offers a variety of Chinese sauerkraut fish soups which span from spicy, sour, savory, and mala (numbing spice). We tried the golden soup with fish and added on beef as an extra. The large size works well for 2-3 people and came with two bowls of rice. I'd recommend the golden soup! I thought it was a really good mix of spicy, sour and numbing flavors. Great comfort food! Prices are super reasonable and pretty cheap for groups too! The inside is super cozy and causal with a bright orange and white color scheme. The booths and seats are comfy too. We ordered using the QR code on the table and then walked up to the cashier to pay, so the experience felt was mainly self-serviced and efficient.

Pretty yummy but I don't think I'll come back. They offer a free drink for a five star review on yelp or google so I'm assuming the good reviews are mostly for that. We ordered the signature snakehead fish and the beef soup and a squid skewer. Both soups were pretty yummy and paired well with rice but the soups were super salty and I feel like it must've had a lot of msg. It tastes very reminiscent to hot pot soup base at popular restaurants. The squid skewer was really tender and well seasoned. All in all, the dishes were yummy but I wish there was more variety in the stuff inside. Service is very quick. Each dish is under $20 before tax / tip and comes with rice.

This type of food you usually have to venture east into SGV to have so I'm grateful for its existence in KTown. I heard from the waiter that perhaps the heat has mellowed out since they opened the place so I wish I ordered spicier. Each pot (single size) was gigantic and filled with all sorts of goodies, including wide glass noodles and xian cai and mu er. The fish was solid, not qq. I preferred the mao xue wang just because I haven't had that in so long. Hecka affordable given all the real spices they use. Will be back.

Looking for an affordable, BIG pot of sauerkraut fish in Ktown LA? Fish With You has options under $20 Their golden soup beef is rich, super addictive, and perfect with rice The hot oil sauerkraut beef brings a spicy kick--just look at all that chili The tomato beef pot is loaded with SO much beef (non-spicy & so comforting) And the lemon fish is tangy and refreshing Don't forget the night market-style appetizers-- coconut lava balls , Taiwanese sausage, and grilled squid IG: socalhkfoodies

We were doing a night out in K-town, and as the night started to come to a close and we were all danced out, a couple of my friends suddenly started to seemingly obsessively start talking about Fish With You.. "Have you had Fish with You??" "It's so good!" Mind you, we were still on the dance floor. Needless to say, they convinced me. WHAT WE ORDERED: - Signature Hot Oil Sauerkraut Fish - Green Peppercorn Sauerkraut Fish - Thai-Style Tom Yum Fish THE FOOD: They were right. Everything was SO good. It was my first time coming here so I didn't know what to expect, so I personally split the signature with my friend, and it was actually the perfect serving size with two bowls of rice. The soup was SO flavorful and very Sichuan, especially the green peppercorn one. The tom yum was also pretty unique and I might get that for myself next time. The fish was nice and tender and the other ingredients made it really fun. THE SERVICE: We came in close to when the kitchen was about to close - we felt so bad, but the server was so kind and patient and was willing to serve us. Thank you so much!!! THE VIBES: Pretty bright spot, and our table was big enough to seat our group of six. Seems like a good place to either eat with friends or with family. BOTTOM LINE: This place is going to have to be my new go-to after a night out in K-town, especially for when I want to switch it up from Korean food!

The service is so quick and the restaurant is so clean! We got the Laotan sauerkraut fish and the golden beef slices, it's very authentic as it's a chain from china! First time trying!

An entire restaurant dedicated to one of my favorite dishes?? How could I say no? Fish With You specializes in spicy fish filet soups that you can customize in a malatang style, and it's incredible. I got their classic spicy sauerkraut fish (it's not like German sauerkraut, it's more of the pickled vegetable flavors in Chinese food!) and I was so happy with it. My only complaint would be that they were quite conservative on the toppings we added, we got enoki mushrooms and sweet potato noodles. However, the server was friendly and the fish came out quick! It was also super festive inside for lunar new year, and the interior is clean and bright. I'd definitely come back!

FISH WITH YOU , LOS ANGELES Okay but this place is actually SO good If you love bold, spicy, sour flavors, this spot is a must-try. The vibes inside are super cute and casual I loved the whole setup and the QR code ordering was really easy I'm not even a big seafood girly but I tried their snake fish and it was sooo tender and not fishy at all 10/10 flavor. I also went out of my comfort zone and tried the squid skewer and it lowkey slapped ‍ super flavorful. The spicy crispy fried pork appetizer??? Crunchy, juicy, gone in 2 seconds I got the golden soup with beef slices and the noodles had such a good texture. The spicy boiled beef had the perfect kick without being too overpowering. And of course... the crowd favorite: Signature Hot-Oil Sauerkraut Fish ‍ Spicy, sour, comforting, and absolutely worth the hype. But wait--don't skip dessert Their coconut lava balls were sooo good! Sweet but not overly sweet, with a light crispy outside and soft, gooey inside Perfect little bite after all that spice. Portions are generous , flavors go crazy , and everything pairs perfectly with white rice Overall: cute vibes, bold flavors, 100% would recommend. Good Service.

Fish With You was SO GOOD. The food was great, but the service made it even better. One guy was running the whole place and still managed to be attentive, kind, and actually helpful. We ordered the large golden soup with snakehead fish and beef. The fish was tender and the broth was so flavorful and delicious. The grilled squid was amazing! The spicy pork was crispy, and the seasoning powder was addictive!! For the price, service, and food quality, I highly recommend it!

I got the signature hot-oil, just what the doctor ordered while I'm sick. Perfect amount of mild spice. You know it's good when you don't know what you're eating but it's still absolutely delicious. Service was cool the waiter was very attentive.

Friends recommendation for soup. This place is in downtown of Koreatown, between 6th street and Mariemosa, next to Paris Baguette and where 7-11 is. Valet is the way to park by the structure (except for 7-11 10min parking only). Other than that, good luck finding side or meter parking Other than two other noodle places, the sign of two fishes stood out. Inside is inviting. Place is known for varieties of soups. Two kinds of bowl: regular and large and the large is enough for two people (trust me, it's a huge bowl). Additionally, there are side options like noodles and rice and appetizers. Can't say much of service unless you need something because I the only person who's taking dine in order and the cashier...so props for that. Order the signature hot oil sauerkraut fish large and the squid skewer. Lemon water is complimentary while selected sodas are can. Squid skewer is huge but the large bowl is even larger. Unless you have big appetite, order the regular. Fish is very good, broth is not oily and that's good thing. Squid is very tender and chewy and too burnt. Overall, highly recommend this as option during the winter/rainy day other than pho.

Great place for a solo meal! I like how it's bright inside & the service is good. It wasn't busy & I got my food at a decent time. I got the laotan fish soup & I like how they give your a bowl of rice when it comes with glass noodles inside. It's a sour soup with lots of flavor & pickled vegetables I would come back to try another soup!

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. There was not a bad dish among these: The tongue was tender, soft, and delicate. The one dish I did not love was the Chongqing fried chicken course I added. The chicken itself ― a boneless leg quarter ― was a large portion and well-prepared, but the sauce covering it was a thick layer of chilis (which, thankfully, were not inedibly hot) and straight oil, lots of oil. Eating so much oil like that made for gastrointestinal discomfort the rest of the night. The soy pickles helped cut the greasiness a bit, but they weren't vinegary enough to get that level of oiliness off the palate. The duck fat rice, though quite good, also did not help much given its fattiness. Given the chance, I definitely would have requested the oil-sauce on the side. I did appreciate the crunchiness of the batter, which never went soggy despite being soaked in that oily puddle for a long time. I did not find any wines by the glass that bowled me over, so I stuck to cocktails, which were good. Service was warm, personable but not intrusive, and brisk, while the room has the comfortable feel of a mid-century modern den complete with well-worn cookbooks on the shelves lining the walls. I would happily return to try the bar menu with cocktails or when the prix fixe options change. At $68 for four courses, Firstborn's prix fixe is one of the best fine dining offers in L.A. right now, and it makes a trek up to Chinatown worthwhile.
