Upon walking into Fishbone Seafood in Upland, I was greeted right away, which set a nice tone. I ordered the combo meal with fish, shrimp, and oysters along with two sides--hush puppies and fries. The listed price was $21.99, but my total ended up being about $27 after tax because of a couple of unexpected upcharges. One was a $1 charge for choosing catfish as one of my fish options, and another $1 for having my food prepared "Cajun style." I want to point out that nowhere on the menu or in the restaurant does it mention these extra charges, so definitely pay attention when your order is being rung up. I was told the wait would be around 45 minutes to an hour, but I ended up waiting closer to an hour and a half, maybe two. Luckily, once I finally got my food, it was fresh and hot, so the wait did pay off in that sense. As for the food itself: * Cajun style - honestly, not worth it. I couldn't really taste any Cajun flavor in the batter. * Fries - very disappointing, I'd give them a 2/10. * Shrimp - tasty, but the breading didn't stay on very well. * Hush puppies - easily my favorite part of the meal, super flavorful and well-cooked.

We happened to be in this shopping center for another quick pick up when I saw this spot. It doesn't matter that I had already eaten, it's hard for me to pass up soul food. I pulled up the menu and phoned in a family meal of catfish, mac and cheese and yams. We also selected cornbread/roll mix. The price for this is only $27 and more economical than just getting a lunch order. I also added a small side of greens. The fish was fried nicely and traveled well for my long drive home. It wasn't soggy or damp from oil. My mom and I enjoyed our food. Each place has their own little twang and I enjoyed their subtle twists. I would gladly swing back through next time I'm passing through Ontario.

Came here for the 3 lb Seafood Eating Contest. Of course @rainaiscrazy was the winner! Was also nice to meet @itslovelymimi27 and @love_me_some_mimi. I also ran into @cheongkin1979 who I haven't seen in person for almost 5 years now! I ran into some of my fellow foodies! The next day I had a great time eating here with @thirdjohnfour and @luv2promote! The event, food, and time spent with each of you all was awesome!!! The service here on the next day when it was slow was very good. The restaurant was clean and was nice to spend time in here. I had the spicy fried Catfish, Mac n cheese, Yams, 2 hushpuppies, and a roll. Great and affordable lunch special ! Yum! I will be back again!

I ordered delivery from here tonight, the dinner was described as coming with fish, shrimp, and two sides, when I received the order, there was no shrimp. I called the restaurant to let them know and they told me the dinner doesn't come with shrimp anymore, even though the menu on uber eats says it does. $23 for tiny pieces of fish and nonexistent shrimp. not sure if this is normal but delivery didn't include any sauces like tartar or hot sauce and I didn't see an option to add them on delivery apps mac and cheese is mushy and bland greens are okay nothing special ordered the cajun catfish for $1 extra and it was kind of disappointing, tastes like louisiana fish fry with a little extra salt hush puppies are good

What a treat! It was a nice to get a taste of home here. Having grown up in the South, a visit here reminded me of the flavors and the hospitality of my youth. It seems that many get their food to go, but I sat and ate at one of their tables. There are a handful of tables both inside and outside. The interior features an open kitchen, corrugated steel decor, and metal tables. I had the fish, shrimp, and oyster combo which comes with two sides. I chose the catfish for my fish and the hush puppies and yams for my sides. I also ordered the fried okra as an additional side because I love okra. As you might imagine, I had leftovers to take home. I enjoyed my food and look forward to trying their poboys and collard greens in a future visit.

We were out in the Ontario area and decided to stop by Fishbone Seafood and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The cashier was especially helpful and recommended the fried salmon, which turned out to be a great choice. We ordered the fried red snapper and salmon with mac & cheese and red beans and rice with chicken andouille sausage and everything was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. Our food came out quickly, and you could really taste that it was seasoned well. The atmosphere was inviting, the bathrooms were clean, and everyone we encountered was kind and professional. We had a great experience overall and definitely look forward to coming back!

Finally checked out Fishbone--- a new local fave! I got grilled snapper with two sides. If they ask if you peppers and onions--definitely say yes! The snapper was flavorful and the sides were all equally good. My one advice is just to order in advance. Thanks for an amazing dinner!

This place is so good! I was first introduced to the franchise years ago in LA so it's great to see that they've migrated East. The food is really good and super flavorful. I would caution that the sides were actually bordering on being considered a little salty... like maybe 3 pinches away from being salty... still good nonetheless. I also had the peach cobbler and my husband had the banana pudding (both not pictured) for dessert. They were both delicious. We ordered takeout so I can't speak too much on the service but my husband did say that they were very nice to him and our young son. The ambiance is pleasant and bright. I look forward to having this meal again soon.

Came here for some lunch. Been wanting to come and try them out for a while now and finally I was able too! I follow their IG page. Antoinette and Eric the franchise owners for this location are very nice and so is their staff! Got me their lunch special and now I wanna go back for dinner, bigger portion! lol! Try their mac n cheese, it was delicious and their fish is lightly fried. Going back to try other things! Their location makes them definitely a hidden gem!

I just went to Fishbone Seafood. It was my first time eating at this restaurant. It was amazing from the food quality to the customer service. I loved everything about the restaurant from the decorations to the music. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved how well everything was seasoned and cooked. I had a fish and shrimp combo meal. My meal included salmon, white rice, Mac & Cheese, and 2 hush puppies. All I can say is that it was incredibly delicious. I recommend this place and I will definitely come back again.

I was in the area for work and took a lunch break and yelped places to eat near me. Fishbone Seafood popped up and I decided to check it out. It was 2pm''ish. Lots of parking shared by other business. Walked in and i was the only customer to my surprise. Was a bit worried, but I stayed and placed an order. The restaurant was spacious, clean and well kept. The cashier (male) was polite and acknowledged it was my first time dining with them. He was friendly and answered my questions. I ordered the combo grilled shrimp and filet of sole. With side salad and yes...steamed rice. To my surprised I received a couple hush puppies. Never fond of them, but this was great. Nicely coated, not too grainy. The shrimp were great size and fried to perfection. The filet of sole was amazing! One of the best fried fish I've eaten. Lightly breaded, fried long enough to be crispy but not burnt. Fish was delicious and to top it off, I received 4 filets! Over all, this place gets my rare 5 star. I was impressed with the food and will definitely put on my return list. If you're in the area and want/crave for southern food, this is the place. Not taking any pints off, just an FYI, they only serve bottled soda (no fountain drinks). See you again when I'm in the area.

One all gender restroom for customer use only. There is even a space for business cards to be shared. Cool! Kid you not, I spent about an hour here mesmerized by the goodies and taking photos. At the time, I did not know I was speaking with the owner, Karla. She was super nice and friendly. Thank you Karla for your amazing service, our wonderful conversation, and the sweet complimentary treat. I appreciate it. I read through the reviews here and both the 1-star and 5-star reviews are correct to me. So let's…read morego through the top good things and too bad things. The good: The churro flavors are unique and coated in delicious sweet sauces of your choice. I tried the Nutella almond coating and they were pretty generous with the flavoring, I left very satisfied with the churro itself. It was made fresh to order. The ambiance is pretty cute, they put in effort to make the area feel safe, especially since sometimes the place they post out is in a dark alley behind a warehouse in the middle of nowhere. The service is good and friendly, I read many reviews saying otherwise so perhaps this isn't true all the time, but it was the one time we went. The eh: The wait time complaints did ring true to me, we got there at 9 pm and there was no line in front of us, it still took them about 15 minutes to get us our mini churro and ice cream. However, it's a food truck, this kind of wait time is expected and I did get a fresh and hot churro so it wasn't for nothing. If you want something fast, you probably shouldn't go to a food truck. The prices also leave something to be desired, $10 for a small ice cream and a 5 inch churro is pretty high. Again, however, I allow that because it's a food truck prices will be higher. I can't find any place near this area that does better churros, so I'm willing to pay the extra once in a while for a better experience. My girlfriend loved that it's a "speakeasy", meaning you have to join their exclusive instagram club to get "drops" on where they'll be that night. I see many complaints about them not being at a location and suspect this is why. I personally don't like this (I'm lazy), but since my girlfriend does, I call it a wash. The bad: The ice cream isn't worth it. If I ever come back here, I'd rather bring my own ice cream, even if I look like a crazy man clutching my tub of breyers sitting around on a street. Their ice cream is either vanilla or cookies and cream, and it's a piddly amount with no toppings. Just skip it, there are plenty of great ice cream places, you're here for the churro. It'll save you a few dollars probably. The area (at least when we visited) leaves a lot to be desired as I hinted at earlier. It was in a parking lot in a dead business center with fences, the entrance to the parking lot was a narrow alley 2 minutes away from the truck itself. The only reason I was able and willing to find that entrance was because the truck (probably knowing it's hard to find) was posted very visibly against a fence with welcoming fairy lights, so I took a little extra time looking for the entrance. I hope they can find a better location to post up at. In the end, I may come back only because they do make good churros, but I think it's more because they lack good competition than anything else. Perhaps I haven't looked hard enough for an alternative.

Once mine came out, they were warm and satisfying, not quite as fluffy as the regular donuts, but still a solid treat. Most of the coatings and toppings are vegan too, just skip anything with Nutella or a dairy based coating, so you've still got plenty of options to customize. A couple of flavors I went with were cinnamon sugar and a maple glaze with walnuts and enjoyed both. On a less positive note, they have a claw machine game near the entrance that took my money and never actually worked properly.
