There are not enough good things I can say that could do Fisk Automotive justice. The entire team, especially Freddy and Jesse, have been extraordinary. Being female, I have had quite a few places that try and take advantage of what they assume is a lack of knowledge. At Fisk, not only do they provide pictures and a breakdown of the needed repairs but they are honest if a repair is immediately needed or not. Not to mention, if there are any options that can be made, they will try to keep the charges down but are upfront on the length of time something can last. Had an emergency issue with my cars battery and alternator and had to get towed here a few months ago. Had the alternator replaced and paid over $700 for the service. Yesterday my car had similar issues so I took it to my local shop. Come to find out Fisk did a horrific job on the replacement and according to my usual mechanic and actually hurt the car more than they fixed it. Incredibly dissatisfied with the service here at Fisk. I recommend going elsewhere. Can't believe I paid $700 for bad service. Won't be ever coming back here. read more

Needed to have MIL's vehicle worked on. She never kept any records. Her memory was foggy. Had FISK check out and do any maintenance/spot any needed/unseen repairs. Located a couple of things, did R&R and maintenance as needed. Am more than satisfied with work done. The mechanics are top quality. They are honest and quick on informing what was needing attention, via photos texted. The customer service crew are great as well. They are diligent and compliment the mechanics. I always worry when a shop looks too clean, new, and everyone wears the same, clean shirts, and bright, happy smiles to greets you, and complimentary keurig coffee. I'm looking for a reasonable, honest auto shop, not a salon experience, after all!! I came in in rhe middle of rhe heat wave(Red alert for gougers) for what I already knew was a leaky AC hose with refrigerant leaking, and they said no problem, they would look at it for $75 and call. I already got a dealer quote for $500.00 mind you. So the call comes after 2 hours, and bless their hearts, they can do me a favor and do it for $1000.00. The estimate said that the compressor was "busted." Mouth drops open and mind goes blank with shock. Given that I enjoy eating and paying rent, I figured that this would not be anywhe near desirable or feasible. So I paid the $75.00 bullsh@t check up fee, and left to take it to an honest, little ma and pa shop in Garden Grove: Pro Automotive Care im Garden Grove at: 8521 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, CA 92841. Had my brakes done at Pro and they were honest, fast and so reasonable. Most notable here is the fact that the compressor was NOT "busted" at all. Hands down the best Auto Repair shop in Fullerton! To make long story short- I took my car in about 3 weeks ago for a routine oil change/tire rotation/inspection maintenance(by the way I think Fisk has the best deal of $59.99+ for oil synthetic change with tire rotation and brake inspection in the area) They recommended replacing brake pads,tires and resurface rotors...I confirmed and they did the job Noticed burnt smell and brake noise and felt like brake were a bit stuck and dragging when I got my car back...Returned my car for back job...Fisk did and tried everything to fix it,replaced my caliper and and actuator at no cost to me and provided me 8 days of car rental Car seems like it was still dragging when I got it back for 2nd time, Jack(Fisk owner)then spoke to Mazda customer service and suggested that I take it to dealer and see what's going on with my brake problems that seemed a factory defect of some sort basing from Mazda's TSB for Cx-5 So took my car Mazda HB last Tuesday and was told that Jack informed them that I should be taken care of and that all expenses will be covered by Fisk Mazda then recommended replacing most parts that Fisk already replaced like pads,calipers etc totaling $700+(not covered with warranty) which personally I think was too much Spoke to Jack and we decided to just pay $128 diagnostic fee(Fisk gladly reimbursed this charge I mean who does that anymore right?) And returned my car to Fisk Jack promised that he will personally make sure that my brake problems will finally be fixed and solved and even offered me car rental once again to which at this time I already declined since they have already done so much Today I got my car back and thankfully everything seems fixed like no more dragging and burnt smell coming from the rotors *Fisk corrected brake pad and piston position on my left rear and did all testing possible to make sure everything was fixed Thank you Fisk Auto! My car broke down late at night and I had it towed to Fisk for evaluation the next day. They called evaluated my car the next morning and promptly called me with details and advice. The car was a loss (I knew ahead of time it was on its last legs) and they were clear and up front about that with me. They gave me great advice on how to sell the car and even let me keep it in their lot free of charge until I could arrange a pickup. The best part though was that they told me that the evaluation work that they'd done on the car was on the house. Jack (the owner) and Freddie (mechanic) were super helpful and friendly throughout. I have a vehicle that is now unrepairable with threats by their owner the all "talksman Jack". DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE HERE. Fisk automotive has pretty decent customer service and they work fast. However they are definitely not worth the money AT ALL If you have 3x the amount it should normally cost to blow on your car for no reason, by all means. Their repairs are average, but they charge quadruple what Ryder's automotive charges right down the street, just for labor, let alone pricing for the part. Just in labor alone they are literally screwing you over just because they're AAA verified. There is no reason to price gouge so hard and I honestly find it offensive they'd make someone pay so much for mediocre work. They give no deals on labor even when having a ton of work done. It cost 160$ in labor just to remove my wheels to change the tie rods. This is why I leave one star even though the service was alright. No one should over charge by that much and it's sad AAA backs them. Definitely get at least one second opinion before approving any work done by these people, and keep in mind it is not top quality. read more

My husband took my car into Fisk because it was recommended by Carmax. My cars battery kept dying so we thought it was the alternator. After bring it in and waiting all day for a call back to see what the issue was Freddie/or Franky told my husband that it was just a faulty battery so that was replaced and $227.64 later we pick up the car. The next day i go to turn on the car and I'm greeted with a "trac off" and "check engine" light. So first we thought is was a battery reset. So we did that. That didn't work. So then my husband called Fisk and was advised to bring the car back. Nothing was stated over the phone that there might be a charge for doing so. I asked my husband to take the car back and Freddie/Franky told my husband that it would be a "diagnostic fee" to inspect there mistake. That was going to cost $175.68. So my husband thought that was outrageous for something that wasn't out fault and we were under the impression that they wanted to keep us happy in good faith. To our surprise they didn't care not one bit about there less than satisfactory service and told my husband to do whatever he wants with the car. So when he got back to the house he did some research via YouTube and found that some small lube was required on the gas cap and voila! No more lights! Thanks for absolutely nothing. read more

This place is very nice, organized, and Chris is very friendly. The problem here are the prices. They are premium and more than the dealer. They provide plenty of excuses with zero evidence why the dealer charges less even though a dealer has a warranty. There are other premium places that charge less than this place with the same warranty so it really makes no sense to over pay even more. They also have very little flexibility in negotiating prices which was a big turn off for me since they are loaded with excessive work and cash flow. Im sure they do a great job but if u want to over pay, feel free. read more

Customer service is exceptional. We've been taking our cars there for at least ten years and with each issue, we haven't had to come back due to a bad repair or incomplete job. Had my car towed here because it was recommended by AAA. Was having engine problems and was warned the car may be totaled due to engine repair price. That ended up being the case. When I told Fisk that I was extremely busy this week and asked when it needed to be out of the lot by, he began pressuring me to get it out ASAP even though they have a sign that expressly states it would be 3 days after repair (in my case diagnostic, which is still a repair fee) that a charge would be applied for storage. The max he would go was 2 days after and I ended up having to call off of work. Go to Dealer's Tire instead where they actually care about their customers. EDIT in response to reply: Every person who comes in pays an inspection fee, we are all clients regardless of the amount we spend. To anyone reading, Dealer's would never treat you as a mere dollar amount. read more

First impression walking in "wow... The cleanest best looking auto repair shop I've ever come across!" No smell of dirty motor oil? No greasy black countertops? No hand made misspelled Spanglish negative signs? No dirty overweight greasy haired guy "greeting" you at the front counter? Where AM I??? I was having problems with my moms car battery I purchased from AAA a little over 6 months ago. It wouldn't start! (Don't you hate when that happens?) I was afraid that it may be the alternator but wanted to go one step at a time before my mom needing to dish out $300 to fix that. My AAA battery was still under warranty... But I no longer have AAA... So after getting the run around from AAA it was determined that I would need to go to a AAA service center that has battery service. (This is a pain in the ass) Chantel is very sweet and tries to accommodate you the best she can. I understand being a AAA approved facility they need to go by their protocol... And this is the only reason I did not give them 5 stars... I didn't have the battery paperwork in the car and apparently the sticker on the battery with the date wasn't enough. After her calling AAA... Me calling them 3 times, I finally was able to get the date of installation and other information they were asking about and had the battery tested. Thank God it was only the battery and it was replaced at no cost since the warranty was still good. Chantel thank you for your great customer service and the good news. Maybe now I can go on with my day. I will come back when I need my regular maintenance on my car seeing that you are a very honest repair shop... A very rare find. :) read more

Had to have my trucked towed to Fisk yet again, thanks to my Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road needing a new fuel pump & fuel relay. I love my truck, but in the 13 months I've owned it, I've now had two major breakdowns, two tows from AAA and two stints at Fisk Automotive. What I need to be doing is writing a one-star review for Toyota of Orange but I'll get to that soon enough. For now, I just wanted to give another shout-out to Fisk Automotive for doing excellent work on my Taco. The day I had it towed to their shop, I was offered a free ride back to my office, which I thought was extremely cool and helpful of them. Then, after taking a look at it, they gave me a call and explained what was going on with my ride, in easy-to-understand layman's terms, and they did so again when I had gone to pick my vehicle up once repairs were finished. Just like last time, the repairs weren't cheap whatsoever, but the final cost was still right in the ballpark of what it should have been, according to RepairPal...in fact, it was a couple hundred less than RepairPal's estimate. So this is a mechanic where you feel confident in knowing that if they're saying it's going to cost a lot of money, then most likely they're being straight up with you, and not just trying to gouge. That's incredibly important in a mechanic, to say the least. Hopefully the next time my truck is at Fisk Automotive, it's because I drove it there for some routine maintenance and NOT because of another nightmarish, out-of-nowhere breakdown. But either way, at least I'll know my Taco is at a shop that has great communication, great skills/know-how and is trustworthy. read more

Got my car from carmax a year ago and it randomly acted up this week and just wouldn't start . I called carmax to get some info on using my maxcare and they directed me to fisks because carmax wouldn't have any appointments for 2 weeks out. Basically, upon their inspection a code came up that was pretty random and suggested maybe my start button hasd gotten stuck and drained my battery. I had to leave it overnight so they could monitor it. I went to pick it up the next day and they cleared my car and said no codes were showing up at all and it was good to go. They have an online System where you're able to view all the tests being ran which is helpful. I paid a $40 inspection fee, not a problem. The young lady at the front was super welcoming and friendly. So I take my car to run some errands and I get home park it and go to leave again after about 20 minutes. And wouldn't you know it the car wouldn't start. So I had to jump it and back I go to fisks. This time they said it was the battery. This was where I was a bit frustrated because prior tests they ran came back that my battery was "good" and it had no issues. I ended up having to leave it again overnight. When I went to pick it up I did question the mishap with the battery and the gal said they weren't sure what happened. She said the technician had a computer program that cleared my car and then they used an old school machine that showed my battery not charging correctly. I can't say it was anyones fault but I really wish that on the first visit they would of suggested I change my battery or been a bit more thorough. It would avoided me not having my car for an additional day and having to scramble to get around. read more

Misdiagnosis~ for PROFIT OR LACK of knowledge: my carburetor was said to need rebuilding by the main mechanic. Turns out, from two other trusted technicians, that it only needed to be adjusted to the proper setting. My Holley brand is also said to be the most accessible carburetor to adjust!! I hate to think how much money i would have uselessly spent had I listened to Fisk.Yes the shop is clean, organized & attitude as cold as a hospital basement, but who cares about that if they do not know their craft. My car is running beautifully to this day!!!! read more

I went back to Fisk automotive this afternoon after dropping a screwdriver in the engine compartment. Yes, one of those days. I took the car in and embarrassingly told them what happened. The guy said hold tight for a few and they would put it On a rack for me. They extracted the screwdriver in 5 minutes or so and didn't ask for any payment at all. We also went to Fisk about two weeks ago for ac leak repair and new shocks/struts. Fisk is very professional and did top notch work. They communicated well and felt like an honest repair shop. My wife also brought her grandmothers Volkswagen van in for some strange electrical issues. The shop was ver honest and upfront with all costs and diagnosis. I do wish this could be better, and I never really leave one-star reviews, but I have to in this case. I got a pre-purchase inspection here in the middle of May for a 2006 Golf TDI. Great car, by the way. I was super excited about the purchase. They found a few notable things in the inspection, most notably that the turbo was "leaking heavily". I didn't see that at all and didn't notice it during driving, so I pushed it aside. Everything else was good, they said. Well it wasn't, or else this review would be over now. ;) As I was driving it home on the 101, I noticed something odd: the temperature gauge was running low, and by low I mean 80°F. I kept watching it and found that it bounced around quite a bit and got higher when I was in a lower gear or accelerating more. While I was driving, since there's not much else to do, I called a good friend who's a mechanic and he said it could be that the thermostat was stuck open or the gauge had some issues. When I got home, I took it to Top Shop and found that's pretty close to what happened. The thermostat was an "old black design" which Volkswagen replaced most of a long time ago. They were known for being stuck open, which is way better than being stuck closed of course. (My last car overheated so I watch the gauge like a hawk now.) I also found out that the temperature sensor was faulty. So I got them both replaced, which was about $500 with the labor, parts, and initial diagnosis. I was fine with that -- it happens. But there was one more thing. The front left control arm bushing was broken and needed to be replaced. Sadly not a quick job. That weighed in at around $500 as well. I was pretty disappointed in the inspection shop for missing it because it's a pretty key thing. Oh, and lastly, the brake fluid was contaminated. That's a quick thing to replace and only $120, but really? How could they miss this on the inspection? I left this shop feeling disheartened about buying the car, but the funny thing was it was for all the wrong reasons. None of the issues they pointed out were even present. My mechanic and I went through the turbo and didn't find any noticeable issues. Hey, strange things happen. I thought Fisk was pretty great at first, but as the day went on I grew a bit more disappointed. And a few weeks later, I'm just surprised. read more

Even though I do live in shortest radius, I had no idea about this place until it was recommended by AAA Associate. My car got towed and dropped off and received a call the following morning from Freddy, the nicest individual on earth. We spoke and he promised me he will get back as soon as he perform diagnostics. In my situation, I read Yelp review, after the fact, had no other choice. I was very impressed about the comment I read and that gave me piece of mind. Freddy has contacted me and has informed me what needs to be done and again that he'll communicate with me the next day. That very same day, I got rental car and went to Fisk Automotive just to introduce myself. I met, for the first time with Freddy and I was really amazed. Very professional, kind, courteous and polite. Most of all, he knew exactly what the issue was and was able to explain to me in detail. I met with the owner, Jack as well and I was able to express how grateful I was. The next day, Freddy managed to replace Fuel Pump, which was major job, and he had even stayed late, after their usual closing time so I can pickup my car as he promised.
