We took our Subaru in for servicing due to a recall. We had an appointment. They held onto the car all day and then called us in the late afternoon to tell us that, after they had the car all day, they didn't have time to do the required work on the car. When we made the appt, they said it would take 20 minutes to check for corrosion, which would determine what else would need to be done. But they never even looked at the car. They said this was because apparently they had too many other cars to work on. What is the point of making an appointment if they can't get the work done? We will never be back. read more

The only reason this dealership gets one star is because I bought my car from them and it was a rather easy process. It was my first time buying a car on my own and the sales team helped me out. With the vehicle, I purchased the extended warranty package that cost me $2,500 because I wanted to be covered for anything that went wrong as I was purchasing a used vehicle. Nothing went wrong with the car for over a year until it started making a noise that I wanted checked out and a headlight was out. So, I had my boyfriend bring the car in for me because I needed to work that day and being as I am a woman in my mid 20's, mechanics assume that I know nothing and will try to charge me for anything they can find. I ended up with a bill for over $800 when all was said and done, none of which was covered by my warranty. This included a headlight, struts and mounts and a cv joint. Obviously not enthused, but that's what you sign up for when purchasing a used vehicle sometimes. So, fast forward nine months and my car starts overheating one night on the way home from work. Again, I bring it into the dealership and find out I have a blown radiator. In a normal car, this would be a few hundred dollars but since I splurged for a wonderful volvo, it requires them to take apart the entire front end of my car to replace. Hoping that my warranty will cover this, I ask them to put in a claim and see if they accept it. I am told that my warranty does not cover this $1000+ fix. Obviously I want to double check what is REALLY covered in my warranty and in going through my paperwork at home, I find the receipt for all the work that was done on my car to make it pass inspection when I purchased it. Low and behold, they had replaced the struts and mounts just 15,000 miles before they dubbed them 'worn' and charged me hundreds of dollars to replace them. When speaking to the manager of the service department I was told that the warranty for those parts was only 12 months and although it was unfortunate that i had to have them replaced so quickly, there was nothing they could do for me. I would not advise anyone have service done on your car here unless you'd like to be taken for all you've got and have unnecessary work done on your car. read more

Made an appointment for oil change service at Fitzgerald Subaru white flint. Was quoted 6495 online when I made reservation. On check in I was told it would cost 113. I stated what I was quoted and then the guy hands me back a second form saying $78. The extra $13 he said was for taxes and for service fees. I asked for a detail of what those fees were above my quoted price and he would not give me the detail of the breakdown. He handed me my check in form - suggesting I wasn't getting service. So I asked for my car back and left. Very bad customer service. If I could give zero stars I would!! I would recommend not going to this location. read more

I recently bought a Subaru Crosstrek from this location and it was a great experience overall. Ana and Shane were my sales reps, and they answered all of my questions in a very thorough manner. When I came in, I knew the specs of exactly what I wanted to purchase, however this dealership did not have that make and model on the lot. Ana and Shane brought this to the manager Peter's attention, and he called around to different dealerships in the area and was able to secure the exact car that I wanted! When I went to pick up the car the next day, they pointed out right away that there was a minor pin prick on the center console when it arrived on their lot, and that they would be ordering that part and replacing it free of charge for me. I really appreciated that they were up front and honest about this, and that they would be addressing this issue for me. Their customer service has been great so far, and I highly recommend purchasing a car from this location! read more

I have used Fitzgerald for service before. They really haven't done a great job figuring out why my car randomly dies. However, this service trip takes the cake! The "Assistant Service Manager" Roland Ea was very bad at communication. I dropped the car of at 8am and he said he would call me by 2. At 2:30, I had to call him and he said the car hasn't even been seen. The next day (Saturday), someone else called me to tell me the car was ready, but Roland didn't have the paperwork done Monday when I went to pick it up. In fact, He made the comment "I don;t believe I called you to tell you the car was ready." My response, "No, someone else called me on Saturday to let me know." Then, He was extremely careless by charging my bank card $1,074. for a $130. bill. How does that happen??? Now, until the bank corrects the mistake (probably a week) I'm out over $1k. I got bills to pay and now I can't because of this kids careless screw up. I told him this and he said with a smile "It was a mistake and I said I was sorry." Thanks... tell it to my landlord when my rent check bounces! I may never use Fitz again. BTW, I bought my car at the Fitz in Gaithersbug. It was only a couple years old but has been a money pit since day one. Thank G-d for extended warranties! I think I'm done with Fitz. **Update** Larry Ruppel just called me. he apologized and said that it's on my bank to return the funds. Said that it should not take longer than midnight today. My wife, who went to our bank, said that it could take up to three days. I told Larry that I understand people make mistakes. However, this Roland guy was so "whatever" about it. Times are tough for people these days. To be without that kind of money, even for a few days, can be highly detrimental and costly to a family. I think that's what pisses me off the most... That he doesn't see the bigger picture. What might seem small to him might be enormous to those actually affected. read more

Bought 2015 Subaru Legacy. Peter Camacho was our salesman and he was excellent. Knowledgeable, but never pushed the sale. Delightful to deal with him. Highly recommend Peter to anyone looking to purchase a new Subaru. The Legacy is great. Haven't had much time behind the wheel yet since I picked it up only a few days ago, but it is a lot of car for the money. This is a sleeper car...way better than the competition in its category. They called police on me as a 11 year long customer. They said I didn't pay the bill and they went ahead and called the police. I paid all the bills over 11 years at their Toyota Gaithersburg repair center. Did all the major and minor maintenance and all kinda of flushes. Went in for time belt replacement on Nov. 8, 2011; car got worked on Nov. 9, 2011 and the car died on me in the street on Nov. 10, 2011. Just lost power in the 50/ 60 mpr speed street. The engine is not as powerful and smooth before. Asked for full refund, they told me to talk to their lawyers. This kind of attitude to resolve problems caused by their faults. Scary and ridiculous. They think they are somebody but by hurting people to make them rich. What a shameful situation. read more

I wish I read the other reviews about the service department before I was foolish enough to trust this dealership with my 2008 Outback. My car was making a nasty sound, I made an appointment and dropped it off. They told me an axle was cracked, and recommended a total $4K worth of service to my car. yeah, that's right ... FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS for a car that has been regularly maintained with 80K on it. We're busy people so we had them fix the axle and much of the other work. A month later the car is making THE SAME HORRIBLE SOUND. I'm debating on bringing it back to them considering if they couldn't fix it properly the first time, why would I trust them again???? read more

I took my 2006 Subaru into Fitzgerald Subaru for a warranty repair on 11/11/14 and was told that the timing belt needed to be changed at a cost of approximately $1200 and that if I added the 90,000 mile service, my bill would be over $2000. I refused and had only the warranty work done. But today I called a repair shop and asked about the cost of the timing belt and 90,000 mile service. I was told that because my Subaru has a 3.0 liter engine, the car does not have a timing belt, but a timing chain and consequently, it does not need to be changed. I then called Fitzgerald and when I asked, was told the same thing--i.e. that my car has a timing chain and it does not need to be changed. So $1200 saved (and the 90,000 mile service at the repair shop would be less than $400, he said). Did the Fitzgerald service rep make a mistake? It's hard to believe because the size of the engine, I have now learned, is shown in the 6th digit of the Subaru VIN number, which he had in front of him when he told me I needed the timing belt changed. I hope that if I had agreed to have the timing belt changed, when they got the car into the shop they would have discovered the mistake and not charged me the $1200--but I would have never known so I feel unsure. This experience plus the high cost of normal maintenance (the 90,000 mile service which includes primarily just changing all the fluids, etc.) has convinced me that I can't trust them and I will not go back there. So those are the facts, and you can make up your own mind. read more

Do NOT do business with this dealership or service shop. Look at the reviews and ratings before wasting your time and money here. While the salesmen may seem nice, the service shop does a poor job and the service manager Andy is not friendly, and does not show any care for his customers satisfaction. I've picked up my car from getting serviced and it was dirtier than when I dropped it off. I have had Andy himself tell me something is fixed and working in the car and I get in the car to drive and it's as if no one ever even checked the car. Huge let down. I recently purchased my 2012 Impreza hatchback from Fitzgerald. I came here after a BAD experience with another Subaru dealer in the area and had nothing but a wonderful experience! They had the Impreza I wanted, and Mark, the salesman, was very personable, straightforward, honest, and genuinely interested in getting me the best deal. This was my first Subaru, and everyone at the dealership was just as excited as me! I was able to put a deposit down on the car to hold it over the weekend and came back the following Monday to finalize the purchase. The car looked great- washed, detailed, and ready to drive off the lot. The whole process only took about an hour and everyone there was phenomenal! Not once did I feel pressured or uncomfortable- it was a fantastic car buying experience. All of my questions were answered and Mark was genuinely interested in hearing what I was looking for in my next car and did everything he could to make it as smooth as possible. I worked with Maurice, David and Kim this time and they were all knowledgeable and efficient. Great follow-up customer service. They now give you an appointment a few weeks after you buy a car to review the features and answer any questions you have. Our initial greeting was less than friendly. Ismael Posada simply said we would 'have to wait for the service manager.' I sensed a lack of confidence from her that may have been the cause of her cold demeanor. Regardless, it wasn't a great starting off point. Then the quote we got over the phone was increased by $50. This was resolved with a discount, which I definitely appreciate. Our wait time was right on point. Another bonus. When we went to pay we were directed back to Ismael, who's attitude hadn't improved after lunch. We signed the paperwork and were asked for our credit card with one word: Payment? Do not bring your car here for servicing and maintenance--this is the stereotypical car shop that everyone fears: dishonest service advisors and overpriced. Aside from the questionable pricing practice that others have mentioned, this is what will usually happen for repairs/maintenance: when you first bring your car in, they will give you a fairly reasonable estimate for parts and labor. But the final bill will be substantially higher than the estimate, and they'll explain that due to certain complications, additional problems they discovered, etc, that the labor cost had to be higher than estimated. The first couple of times this happened, I dismissed it as bad luck--maybe they did run into complications that made it take longer to do the repairs. But it has happened every time since. I've been putting up with this place for three years, but never have they valued me as a returning customer--rather, they probably thought me gullible and decided to take advantage of that. During the most recent visit, the estimated cost (both parts and labor) was $700--it came up to be nearly $1400 in the end. Again, they gave a bunch of excuses as to why it was necessary to spend more time than anticipated to do the repairs. If you feel like you can handle a "battle" with the service advisors every time you go in for repairs or maintenance, then go ahead--because that's what it will feel like, constantly guessing whether they are being genuine with you or not, and needing to be always on your guard about the prices they're trying to slip in. But otherwise, steer clear of this place. read more

This dealership offers a new program. When you purchase the car, a meeting, with a specialist, is set up to explain all the bells and whistles of the new car. You wait a few weeks, after the purchase, to give you time to drive the car and figure out what you need help with. Kimberly Francis is the "delivery specialist, who handles this education appointment. She is knowlegeable, patient and a pleasure to work with. This program is a new one that is being rolled out by this particular dealership and I hope this will this will continue to be offered. It makes a big difference. read more

I stopped by this dealership (about 5 min from my home) recently to check out Hyundai, which several colleagues at work had been raving about to me for some time. Ben Samtani was available and helped me review the different categories and trims, took me out for a test drive, and presented financing models for what was possible in my budget-- from the start, I was impressed with his kind and friendly demeanor and attention to my situation. Then my Buick died the next day (it was coming time to "bury" my 9-year-old ride), so I was in a position to have to decide on a car quickly before spending unnecessary days on a rental. Ben Samtani, Jeff Shaker and Pete Hemnani all helped to ensure my accelerated need to purchase a car was done with care, consideration and with the truly best deal I could get. They beat a price I got from another local Hyundai dealer, and even worked with me on a better financing deal than offered through my credit union (which was already quite good). We didn't settle out until close to 10pm on Tuesday, past closing hours, but no one rushed me or made me feel like they had to shut down. I was extremely satisfied with Ben's attention, Pete's accommodation and Jeff's check in with me earlier in the day as I was figuring out my schedule, dealing with my "dead" Buick and having to be up in Baltimore for appointments all day. Everyone definitely went the "extra mile" to make sure I walked away most satisfied, which I did. All involved at Fitzgerald offered a highly satisfactory car buying experience. I have been looking for a used car for my college aged daughter for a while. The dealership listed a used car a few weeks ago. I knew it had just been traded in because I have been looking daily for cars. I went into the dealership two weeks ago Wednesday night. I saw the car and loved it. It still hasn't gone through the reconditioning process and needed to be inspected I told the sales man and his manager I wanted to surprise my daughter for her 19th bday. They assured me they would have the car pushed to the head of the line, they would call me Thursday or Friday. I had to call the sales person Friday and he said there was no updated, still waiting on the inspectors. He would call me first thing Monday. No call on Monday. Again I had to call him on Tuesday and again no update. I expressed interest in another vehicle as a plan B. He said he was going to go look at it and call me back with info. I never got a call back. By Thursday I'm livid. I called and left the General Manager a detailed message. I NEVER heard back from the GM of the dealership. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the sales associate never called me if the GM won't either. I called once again on Friday and spoke with the sales associates manager. He apologized and said the car had been inspected and they needed to do some work. He would call me on Monday. He did call me Monday with new update. Tuesday he called and told me the car could be ready but I had to race in and sign the paperwork because they can't hold it. I was floored. He knew I was angry so he said he would hold it for 24 hours. I raced in today and he wasn't there. Another manager had to ask 2 different sales people to do the paperwork (free sale) for us. Unreal! I thought sales people wanted to sell. I am purchasing the car because it is very hard to find a good used car but I will never buy a new car here. read more

The entire transaction did not take too long, perhaps 2 hours from start to driving off the lot in a new Forester. I felt the negotiating process was fair and Thomas was knowledgeable, helpful and considerate. Even after I had signed and the deal was completed, he came out and helped me with several questions. I wouldn't want to go through this process everyday, mostly because of the time it takes, but I have to say our experience with Fitzgerald and our salesman, John Deon, made the process very smooth. Sorry to have seen so many negatives reports, but I believe in the service I have always received at this White Flint location. I have had 5 cars from them, all new purchases in the past 6 years for various family members and have had 5 star repairs/service when called for. The staff was always helpful and the service was preformed right the first time. All discounts or service specials were honored and some even extended for a day or two because I could not get in on time for an appointment. Although some cars come with problems that are hard to discover the origin of, they have bent over backwards searching other dealers that might have had the same issue with that model. I will remain a constant customer here and hope when my 2006 Azera passes the 200,000 mile mark I can expect as in the past, a great deal on the next "chapter" with Fitz Mall at White Flint! read more

My wife and I were looking around the area for a used Subaru. We decided to contact the Subaru side of the Fitz dealership in White Flint to inquire about inventory. Right off the bat, I was helped by Kimberly, who asked what we were looking for and compared the inventory available to our specifics. I left my email address with her since there was nothing at that moment that matched our search, and we would continue looking elsewhere in the meantime. A couple days passed, and I got an email listing several vehicles that were taken into inventory that fit the info we provided, and had prices quoted to us. We scheduled an appointment to meet Kim to check one of them out even before any work had been done on the vehicle. We arrived to find the car in good condition and noted with Kim several things that would make the vehicle more appealing to us if they were taken care of along with the obious task of making the vehicle pass MD State inspection. We went from the body shop back to the dealership to discuss our options and communicated our "to-do" list for the vehicle to Kim, as well as Kevin, the used car director. They showed us what needed to be done for the vehicle to pass inspection, and agreed to fix the major (and some of the minor) issues we had with the car for us to feel more comfortable with it, as well as giving us a few days after we took the vehicle for a check-up with our own mechanic. We in-fact did purchase the vehicle, and were told it would be ready for delivery within a few days. As promised, the car was ready for pick-up on time, and before we finalized everything, we took the car out for a lengthy test drive to make sure everything was working well and the car was running smooth. The car was detailed exceptionally, and everything was taken care of with the exception of one minor detail inside the car. We brought this to their attention and Kim assured us that we could bring the car back as soon as we got it checked by our mechanic, and, they would fix the remaining issue as well as provide us with a loaner car for the time it would be in the shop. After inspection by our personal mechanic, a small leak was found caused by a damaged gasket on the oil drain, but, the car was othewise in excellent condition. We communicated this with Kim and Kevin, and they agreed to fix this as well when we brought the car in for service on the other issue. For our brief service experience we were also pleased. We brought the car in without a confirmed appointment, and it was taken care of within a timely manor, as well as both items being fixed properly and the only issue I had was that there was about an hour wait for the loaner car, which more/less is the fault of NextCar, wheras the staff was very friendly, but, they didn't have enough cars for loaners and were waiting on some that were being transfered from another location. The only suggestion for the dealership i would have in general is to give your service advisors a more comfortable environment to work out of by giving them some more space (they seem to be sitting shoulder to shoulder), and add some more waiting space for customers in line waiting to speak with one of the advisors. It was a pretty nice day out, so it wasn't an issue, but when I got there to pickup the vehicle I did have to wait in line for a bit and was standing outside (although covered) for that. I can imagine during busy times, especially during extremely hot/cold weather, it would account for customers being forced to wait outside of the service office and possibly uncomfortable in some situations. The actual customer waiting room however, was comfortable and accomodating. Overall, if we are also satisfied long-term with our Subaru, and decide to purchase another, this would very likely be the first place we look! read more

Fast service, friendly staff. Prices are not great, but hey, its a dealership.

I love this place. I can go early and sit in the lounge and get coffee, watch TV, chat with others and it is just like home. The service people are wonderful including the mechanics. I bought my car at one of the Fitz Malls so I also get the loaner if I need to go somewhere while they are servicing my car. Buy your car there and get the loaner program and never have to do without a car while you are being serviced if you always have something to do. You can make appointments on line and just come in and drive away in a nice loaner for the day or two if you have a big service. All the happy people don't take the time to yelp, but we are out there. I have used this dealership and service department for 17 years and they have never failed me..... Bought my 1999 Dodge Van there and serviced there until I had run it to its last leg driving from Annapolis to Rockville on a daily basis. Now my 2010 Nissan Versa Hatchback has happily been serviced there since I bought it from Fitz. LOVE Fitz's peoples and their work ethic. They have many happy customers, they just don't YELP! read more

I've been coming here for 4 years. My car has been kept in great condition so I know the work being performed on my car is being done right. The service advisors are honest and straightforward, and don't try to swindle me into buying things I don't need, unlike many auto places. Considering the ease of getting my car back and the quality of work, I would say the price is fair. Definitely will continue going back. read more
