This is my second time eating at Five Guys. The first time they got my order wrong and when I got the right burger I remember it being kinda dry and lacking flavor. I also did not care for the cajun fries. This time around I ordered the fries without the cajun seasoning and really enjoyed them. Some yelpers mentioned that their fries were soggy, well that sucks for you but mine were crispy and delicious. They have that natural potato flavor and look like Wing Stop fries. The burger was pretty good, but I still would like them to season it a little more like Smashburger does. The toppings were fresh and generous. You know how you hate when you go to a fast food place and they give you one sad looking, super-thin tomato? Well, I had two fresh, thick tomatoes and some nice pickles as well. Dishonest business. My husband and I went for burgers on 2/7/23 around 5:30 pm. The rude woman cashier told us that they don't have regular sized drinks and that we can buy a bottled drink or a large fountain drink, then only roughly 1/3 of the soda options were available in the machine. The cashier also added a $5 tip to our bill without our consent. The bill was $40 for two burgers, a regular fry, and two fountain sodas. The food was alright. I really liked the variety of the toppings, and I got exactly what I asked for. The toppings were fresh (even the jalapenos!) and the burger was juicy yet a little crisp on the outside. First off, parking sucks. Finding parking in any mall is never easy but I think having a parking area right in front of Five Guys that is always full just rubs it in the wrong way. But patience is key and once you are waiting in line snacking on some peanuts, you will not be disappointed. Before moving out to LA I had heard so much about the legendary In N' Out and its secret animal-style menu but back in the south/east coast, Five Guys reigns supreme and for good reason. The burgers and fries are just better. This particular location consistently constructs good quality burgers and provide excellent, timely service. The staff are all very nice and friendly and actively make an effort to smile, which may seem something small and inconsequential but I've had my fair share of instances at fast food chains where I wonder if someone in the back had spit in my food or something. But what really impresses me about this place is the sheer amount of fries they cram into your paper brown bag. Whenever my friends and I go, one of us just orders a small and that is plenty enough to go around for all of us. While most Five Guys chains do load up on the fries, this place must have an excess potato supply from Idaho because every time my bag has been filled to the brim. I will say that Five Guys leans more on the pricier end but the fully customizable menu as well as the heaping load of fries is more than enough to justify the extra cost. And after knocking down your near 2000 calorie meal, what better way to digest than walking around the Culver City Mall and spending more money? A note: if you haven't yet, try putting some A1 steak sauce on your burger. I've always despised the taste of this condiment but for some reason, it worked really well on the burger. read more

I've probably been to Five Guys Five times lol but I never had a shake till today. I ordered the Salted Carmel Shake w Coffee mixed into it. And I must say it was heaven. Creamy and thick. I must say after all the hype and good reviews I've heard about this place, my burger looked a bit.... sad.... I loved the service. Our cashier was very friendly and helpful. The cajun fries were great. BUT! The burger looked unappealing.... It looked like a flattened McD's cheeseburger. I enjoyed it okay and appreciate all the free toppings, but I'm not sure it was worth $5 and a 30 min trek. I went into this five guys today and on the screen where your order is viewed it showed $12.97 but when I tapped my bank card I noticed I was getting charged $13.94 after the transaction had went through I asked the young lady who was short and rude with me about why was it showing more on the payment scanner and she said, "oh!!because you have a tip". Now why would do that when your not technically serving me?!?! My food is to go? Her response was, "oh, I can't reverse it". I said, " well why wouldn't you warn your customer about that before hand cause what If I accidentally did a bigger tip and was not paying attention to the total amount. She walked away and proceeded to gossip with the coworker that was actually working. I'm very disappointed and outraged by the behavior and lack of caring coming from the establishment. On top of that it was dirty and you had several employees just standing around gossiping and being messy. In the times we are in with everything being so expensive no one wants to be overcharged for anything. All I purchased was a burger and I just paid $14 for it. I recommend NEVER going to this location unless you want to be overcharged and treated like you don't help the revenue. Good solid burgers with lots of add on choices. Hotdogs a cool novelty. Sandwiches like BLT too! The fries are really good, not super crispy but they are generous with the portions. I haven't tried the milkshakes but I've heard they're really good. They also have self serve roasted peanuts to crack and shell while you're waiting, a great touch. I've been to 5 Guys before and had better service, so while I would like to think this is an exception the fact that happened at all is unacceptable. I go to order and once I'm done the male cashier asks me if the food is for my boyfriend. I politely say it's for my dear friend Heather. He then proceeds to tell Be how beautiful I look in a very creepy, leery way. Then proceeds to ask me if I have a boyfriend. Upon hearing I was not single he then changes his demeanor from creepy / leery to rude and tells me I have to wait outside the restaurant since I have my dog and dogs are not allowed here. Service dogs are in fact legally allowed everywhere their owners are but rather then even ask if my dog was a service dog ( or looking to see him clearly in a marked harness) he demanded I leave after taking my money and hitting on me repeatedly. Upstart competition is a good thing; pushing the boundaries and creating disruption is how industries progress. Hence the hope that Five Guys would be doing some thing unique, something new, and original. Well, not really. Did the mini version of the burger 'cause didn't want the usual two patties in the 'regular; also did it without the bun (INO parlance: protein style) for a determination of relative differences. Do like the addition of both 'rooms and bacon (bacon makes everything better), so that was a plus; however, the patty was dry, and less than flavorful. Moreover, it's about $10 for a mini burger and a small drink, which was somewhat surprising; guess they have to make up for being at the Mall. So overall, the value/price ratio isn't great, but the burger is passible given the inclusions of the accouterments. read more

I'm clearly not on the Five Guys bandwagon. I'd like to slash the tires on that bandwagon actually. The burgers just aren't very good and the fact that they're gaining such a big cult following is beyond me. I guess a big part of their appeal is the abundance of selections. They offer a regular sized burger (with 2 patties) and a little size (1 patty). After choosing your size, you're faced with the question of what type of burger: hamburger, cheeseburger, bacon hamburger or a bacon cheeseburger. Then onto the tons of selections of toppings. I already have a headache thinking about all the decisions I have to make. Even fries come in 2 kinds: regular and Cajun. I've had the regular which were decent, but not anything memorable. The only thing memorable about the burgers is that I'll remember not to order one again. The flavor and quality just tasted less than mediocre, especially since they're not cheap. Oh yeah, they have hot dogs too. And peanuts while you wait. Random, I know. Here's the part where I compare it to In-N-Out: In-N-Out offers much better value, customer service, speed and overall, I think their burgers and fries kicks Five Guys' butts! I can't even sugarcoat this review, this place is completely overrated, overpriced, and not worth one ounce of hype. I was presented with a brown paper bag with a standard sesame seed bun and two patties that looked depressed. There was far too much lettuce, not enough mushrooms, and some partially melted American cheese. So much for the presentation. The meat lacked any great flavor other than grease, the mushrooms were weak, the bun was too thin, and the cheese was overpowering. The fries looked promising but as I really got into my meal I determined that they didn't have much of a potato flavor and didn't hold much of the peanut oil flavor I was longing for. The lack of not grilling the bun and week sauces for the burger make the burger much less appealing. Mediocre burger and fries aside, the biggest offense of the night was the price. My cheeseburger, regular fries and regular drink came to $11.54!! With a meal costing about twice as much as In-N-Out ($10 vs $5), it's unlikely that I will return. read more

The famous Five Guys Burgers and Fries - we finally meet. It was soooo nice to meet/eat you. The burger patties are pretty tasty and not dry by any means. The perks that they have to their burgers is that a regular burger is actually two patties and a 'little' burger is a single burger. They have a good list of toppings that you can put onto your burger at no cost. With mine, I got ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, regular onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, A1 steak sauce, bbq sauce, and pickles. The burger can get extremely messy. EXTREMELY, but as messy as it gets, it is THAT tasty. I also ordered a small order of fries. The 'small' order is more than enough for two people, especially after having such a beast mode burger. The fries are a bit more fried than your typical fry - nice and crispy with moist potatoey goodness on the inside. Some gripes about this place is that the seating area is very limited and constricted for the traffic that they bring in. There's not a whole lot of walking space and you end up bumping into things left and right. There is a lot in the back to park in and, at the time we arrived, there was ample parking. One random perk is that they have peanuts for you to help yourself to, so as you're waiting for your order, you can much on their peanuts. Another perk, for me, is that they have diet Sprite on tap, which is difficult to find in other fast food joints. One thing that I don't understand is why people keep comparing Five Guys to In n Out. Although the interior design looks similar, the burgers are quite a different offering in comparison. Five Guys seems more along the lines of Fatburger and Fuddruckers, to which, Five Guys is superior to both. A burger, fries, and drink put me around $10.28, which is much more than I'd expect to pay for a lunch, but the fries were absolutely delicious, the burger was tasty, and the overall meal was very satisfying. Would I come back? Definitely. Will I crave it? Not quite. But it is tasty :) read more

Many people here in So Cal make the comparison to In-n-Out, but I think a more accurate comparison is to Burger King. Image a Whopper with the same cheap tasting bun and cheese, but a significantly better patty that actually has a beef flavor from developed crust and quality meat. I think most of my friends would be in shock at this review, but Five Guys is just okay. It's a pretty good burger place, but there isn't anything really special about it. They are a lot like In N Out in that they are a fast food burger place that is a little better than say McDonald's. I have been there a couple of times but was never really wow-ed with either the burger or the hot dog (the fries are good though). The buns there tasty, and I did enjoy finishing those off with my proteins, which is rare for me. The biggest problem that I had with Five Guys is that they use peanut oil in everything, and in a world where so many people are deathly allergic to peanuts, I am actually surprised they use that oil in everything. Lucky for me, I am one of those people, so I have to be very careful. I would recommend trying it at least once, because a lot of people really do like it, but if you are allergic to peanuts, avoid that place at all costs. Apples...oranges. Pippins..cumquats...? Really does it matter, people? Sure the aesthetics are similar when walking into one establishment or the other, but I know one thing is for certain...the size of the actual patty of beef at Five Guys is MUCH larger than the kraft slice sized beef patty at In N Out. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy In N Out as much as your average person, but I have absolutely NO beef with Five Guys or their food. Are the fries salty? Hecks yeah they are. Need a solution to lower your salt intake? Don't eat all of your fries or ASK FOR YOUR FRIES UNSALTED. They go overboard with how many fries they give you anyway. The burger is made to order, just like In N Out, and it's pretty good. Is it the greatest burger ever? Definitely not. Neither is In N Out. So I say all that to say this...Five Guys is good. It absolutely does NOT suck. People will complain about pricing, but you're getting what you pay for. There's a massive amount of beef and fries coming your way. Get a burger or a hot dog. That's it. Both are good, but they are just regular hamburgers and hot dogs. I liked the options for toppings. I didn't like the price. Since I'm a big fan of In-n-Out (It's what a hamburger's ... allllll about) the value at Five Guys didn't equal the price. The unlimited toppings are tempting. The first time I ate at a Five Guys, I was somewhere between Washington D.C. and New Jersey. After a very long night of mojitos and patron, we started the next leg of our roadtrip journey across the United States, neither my roommate or I could really stomach food for a long time. Finally in an unknown area in an unknown state, we used our GPS to find a place to eat. Long story short, we had Five Guys. My roommate, being a vegetarian, was really excited about all the extra toppings you could put on your burger that were sans meat, the vast amount of fries they carelessly throw into the bag, and the peanuts, all those peanuts! After that glorious time, I felt like I might never seen Five Guys again, considering I had never heard of it on the West Coast. Fast-Forward two years later and Five Guys has started to pop-up all over Southern California, so I was excited to try it again, but would it be the same? Did I need to be hungover to enjoy the fries, the hamburgers, and the peanuts? No, five guys is still delicious, hungover or not. They have a pretty simple menu, their regular hamburgers consist of two patties, and their junior just one. They have some hotdogs, and fries. They also have a list of toppings, that include grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pickles, mayo, ketchup, mustard, lettuce, regular onion, BBQ sauce, hot sauce, green peppers, relish, steak sauce, and jalapenos, all FREE. They also have fries. One regular size is enough to feed two people, they fill the cup, then dump more into the bag for good measure. For a junior cheeseburger and a regular fries, you're going to be putting out about $8.50. This price point puts it a little higher than In&Out whose double double with cheese and fries is more like $6-7. Its easy to make the comparison, considering walking into Five Guys looks very similar to In&Out (red and white tiles). But I don't think you can say one is better than the other. All I know is I very much enjoyed my five guys,and I love options, the peanuts available while you wait, and more fries than I can eat, so this place will def. get my business! read more

Yum! Location/place: It's located on the first floor of the mall, in between a sushi restaurant & Creme de la Crepe (french restaurant), on the same row as Forever 21 a few doors down. On the Sepulveda Blvd side of the mall. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food: Burgers with whatever toping you want, they are really good. Similar to In N out but you taste the difference. Fries are really good here but sadly for me they don't have onion rings... Service: Fast and all the employees I've encountered have been nice. Parking: If you're lucky you'll find parking right up front in that little area but it gets congested in there. Otherwise try looking, there's plenty of parking all around. Enjoy! read more

This meal and restaurant failed on every level. The music is too loud, so you have to shout at the order taker. A single bacon cheeseburger, fries ans soda costs $12. The greasy unappealing burger is served wrapped in Tin Foil and shoved at you in a brown paper bag. The bag quickly turns greasy and It's just an ugly and unprofessional presentation.
