I love coming to this place. I am such a burger fan and this place makes all my dreams come true. I used to love in-n-out burger and since I have eaten here the past few months I can't either think of in-n-out burger with out gagging. The fries are salty and delicious and you only need one small fry to feed two people. I always get the little cheeseburger with pickles, ketchup, mayo, mustard, tomatoes and lettuce. I mix it up once in a while and get the hot with cheese or put grilled onions and mushrooms on my burger. This place is alway clean and the staff is welcoming. DON'T order a whole order of cajun fries. My boyfriend loves them but I say it takes away from the burgers. I recommend a half and half fry. Half cajun and half regular so you can try for yourself. Heard from so many people that this place was really good. Finally decided to check it out one day. Staff were very friendly and free peanuts to snack on while you are in line. That's a great start! But then I looked up at the menu boards. Call me lazy but no combo deals turned me off a bit. Also, prices seem to be on the high end for me for burgers. I got a double patty cheeseburger with fries and that set me at $10 without a drink. I know I may sound cheap but that just seems to be a lot for a simple cheeseburger and fries. Don't get me wrong, the burger was good. Fries were really not my favorite but the people I was with liked them so it could just be me. WOw! This place was crowded. If you have kids allergic to peanuts I suggest not to order from here since it's literally all over the place. If not, then you'll enjoy your time while waiting in line while smelling the awesomeness that this place has to offer. The burger was great however the restaurant experience wasn't. Luckily my cousin waited in line for me and my family as we tried to look for a place to sit. Food came out fairly quickly and I had all the fixins (thank you cousin!) Overall, as this was my first time here and the first time having 5 Guys burger I must say it is one of the best burgers I had in a while, but not feeling the wait and noise level of the restaurant. This was my first experience here at a Five Guys. I didn't have any thoughts if it was going to be good or not. I was hungry and I wanted to eat. I didn't know how the menu selection was and so I asked the people I was with on how to order. It was simple. You order a hamburger or a lite. I ordered a lite. I didn't want to eat too much. I liked the fact that you can get all the ingredients like tomatoes, pickles, bacon, and cheese. Some fast food places don't give you them. I ordered the cajun fries which were awesome. I liked the environment in there. It was relaxed and not really rushed. It was busy though, but I didn't mind too much. I did like the peanuts that you can crack open and eat. The coolest thing was their fountain soda machine. It was touch screen and I was only drinking water. I would go back. It was kinda on the expensive side but worth a try. Anyone who compares In & Out favorably to Five Guys is not to be taken seriously. Five Guys is a real burger joint, not McDonald's for yuppies. Their burger is superior. Their bacon is perfect. Their fries are the absolute right balance between potato and otherworldly fried confection. They give you free peanuts while you wait. And your wait won't be as long as it is at in & Out. About the only flaw, common to almost every burger chain I can think of, is that the overmatched bun is inadequate to the task of holding all that deliciousness. That bun will succumb and drown. Overall decent burgers, I had the little bacon cheeseburger meaning it only has 1 patty, you get to add free toppings such as tomatoes, mayo , mushrooms etc. And they have a variety of sauces to add on. Must Try...much better than INO which has declined tremendously in my mind since the opening of much better places. Order the little burger with two of your favorite toppings and like the other reviewer said more is not better with the toppings. Cajon fries are a must with your first burger here. Root beer pairs well with this meal. Stop crying about the cost as your paying for one of the best burgers in San Diego for a chain restaurant. Update: Just ate there again as I was craving that burger taste, had the double bacon cheese burger with grilled onions and thousand island dressing along with tomato. If you don't get bacon, you've made a terrible decision. If you don't like a juicy, greasy burger than the plain bun may seem soggy. And if you prefer the crispy, frozen potato type of french fries at McDonalds then you probably won't like theirs. But for me this burger experience is an excellent one: greasy, tasty, juicy, cheesy, gut bomb! Do yourself a favor and get bacon and mushrooms on the burger and the Cajun fries. We love 5 guys!!! For years and years we have eaten and sworn by In-N-Out, until we ate at 5 guys! Our first visit to 5 guys was at this location (and we only go to this location since then). From the drive over to when we ordered, our friends were trying to tell us how much better 5 guys is from In-N-Out, we called them crazy and that it wasn't possible. We ordered (love how you can specify exactly what you want on you want on your burger: bacon on my burger...yes please!), got our drinks and helped ourselves to the complimentary peanuts, as we waited to put the burgers to the test. side note- The soda fountain at 5 guys is amazing!!!! I don't drink soda to begin with, so the usual nasty raspberry iced tea and lemonade from the soda fountain gets very tiring. This soda machine, you can customize your drink to be however you want! You can pick a soda/ tea/ lemonade/ sparkling water, and choose to add one of 8 different flavorings you want to it. I drink strawberry lemonade. When we got our burgers and fries, we were so surprised! We got the Cajun fries (sooo delish) and my hamburger came with two patties. My fiances double cheeseburger had 4 patties. The meat was such a higher quality than In-N-Out and the bun was better too!!! Everything was so delicious and 10x better than In-N-Out. I would recommend (if you're going to take your food home with you instead of enjoying it in the restaurant) going on their website and ordering from there, that way you can just drive over and grab your food and hurry home to enjoy it!!! The only thing we miss about In-N-Out is the secret sauce. We keep some of their secret sauce stashed in our fridge, and squeeze it on when we bring our 5 guys home. Stopped in here for lunch, and the workers were very friendly, very nice. I don't go to Five Guys much, so I'd forgotten what I had thought about it. I got the Bacon Hamburger, and it was fine. The fries, salty and greasy as they were, were the highlight of the meal. People that like to engage in In-N-Out vs. Five Guys debates, I'll put my vote in for In-N-Out. Five Guys has higher prices, burgers aren't as good, although the selection you can have for toppings is pretty cool. I agree with many yelpers that this place is a little overpriced for a burger joint, especially since the meat isn't even organic or grass fed only. With that being said, the burgers are tasty and my wife loves their Cajun fries. For me, the best part of this location is the crew. They are always really friendly. They don't make our fries for take-out until I arrive to guarantee they are fresh. While I wait, they offer me a glass of water and ask if there is anything they can get me while I wait. They always make you feel welcome and always have a smile on their face. Pure Burger is my # 1 choice but 5 guys gets the silver (and that is nothing to scoff at). read more

Went to Five Guys last Saturday night and was not impressed. Five guys used to be very busy and the prices seemed reasonable. The burgers are now anywhere between $7.00 to $10.00. We also ordered a regular French fries and in the past that was almost an entire brown bag of fries, this time it was about half of the portion. All in for 3 burgers and one order of fries it was $30.00! We will not return. This restaurant was also dead inside, it was early in the evening. The other very popular burger restaurant down the street can make traffic back up on the freeway and serve better food at half the price! Tonight around seven we ordered Five Guys for dinner. Our order was two cheeseburgers, one of them being a bowl and a side of cajun fries. I have a gluten allergy and cannot have a bun. We get home which is 10-15 minutes away and realized they gave us the wrong order!!! I could not even salvage the burger cause the bun was stuck to the meat and cheese. Also the fries were not cajun fries and were soggy and spilled all over the top of the burgers. My boyfriend had taken a bite of the burger not realizing they had screwed up my order. He then called in and told them of the mistakes...they told us to come back in and the correct order would be ready in 10 minutes. They also told us to bring the wrong order back in which I'm sure is a COVID violation...and we didn't bring back the one wrong burger cause it had a bite in it. We drove all the way back there and still had to wait 10 minutes for our food!!! All to have them tell us they were not giving us the other burger! After they made the mistake!!! And the burger at home was just sitting there getting cold! I was appalled by the way we were treated as paying customers! So my boyfriend went back in and talked to the manager...after having to plead his case they finally gave him a new fresh burger! So disappointed with how we were treated tonight! By far the worst burger, the worst service and the WORST manager of all the Five Guys! If the owner reads this he needs to FIRE the female manager who was on at 4:00pm Oct 2, 2020!! I went into the place with my wife. No other customers were there , ( now I know why) no one asked if they could help me. 3 people standing around. I finally asked if anyone was taking orders. We ordered a Cheeseburger All the Way and day in the outdoor patio in front of there place. It seemed to take forever so I went in to check on the burger and a lone bag was sitting on the counter for Hod knows how long. I asked the person who was standing there why none came out to call my number? The manager said we called your order! I said why didn't anyone call outside where your seating is? She said we didn't know you sat outside! There is no inside seating! I then asked why would you just leave the food on the counter than if no one picked it up? She got angry and I asked to speak to the manager and she in a very condescending attitude said I am the manager. I said you are worst manager of any Five Guys and you should be fired! She and Alejandro than screamed at me to leave. We sat outside and ate the worst put together burger I've ever had! Don't waste your money going to this location! I will go to in n out if I have to or someone else wants to go, but I am not really all that into their burgers and just thought it was because I am not much of a burger eater- but let me tell you, after five guys- I am hooked! I ordered again, this time using their "online" order method- as it allows you to skip the line and just pick it up which saves a lot of time because they are so busy. I think the food is a bit over rated. I mean, its not bad, but it is also not good. It's just OK. For me, my biggest issue with them is the fact that it took nearly 45 minutes to get my food! I ordered my food, and then waited, and waited, and waited. I went back up there 25 mins after I ordered and said it wasn't ready yet. Waited another 20 mins until it was finally ready. This is a the worst dining experience I have ever had. We went in to grab a burger and the manager was screaming profanity at a guy inside the store. I couldn't believe this person is employed. SO for being a "burger and fries" place I was not amazed nor was I disgusted with the meal. Perfectly golden french fries that are soft in the middle and crisp on the surface! We ordered a large and not only did they fill the "basket" but they also threw an additional scoop in the bag! OH AND BTW THEY DONT HAVE RANCH!!! Now I am a MUST have ranch guy and this didnt affect my rating at all but Ketchup and ranch on those fries would have been heaven!! The burger and the price of the whole meal was what got me. Add ranch to the burger and it would of given it some flavor. Five Guy's is the best fast food burger there is, at least where they know how to cook them. This location is consistently awful, you are better off going to McD's Way overcooked burgers with all of the juice smashed out. So dried out by the time they take them off the grill that they will not even melt the cheese. Somebody from Georgia, Carolina or Virginia needs to come out here and teach this location how to cook burgers. read more
