Though I recommend going during the sunlight hours because it gets really dark, there's like one light post but very dim. I believe it's a family owned business and the family is super nice. In a word: Disgusting. Fries with Cheddar & Chili , were buried in chili for a reason...they did not bother to cook them. Burger: the dbl burger w/hickory and cheddar. Its was cooked. But really questioned the "meat". Definitely not 100%. Closer to 80%...filler. Truly I was angry that I wasted my money and "dietary budget" on fast food that I actually didnt eat. Rating this restaurant solely on the burger and not the chicken sandwich. I say that because this is mainly a burger place and the chicken sandwich was just okay (made with pre-battered, frozen chicken strips). The burger, on the other hand was very good! Not the best I've had in the area but very good and worth the visit. I would definitely eat here again! Fries were also hot, fresh, and tasty! Food is served in "please don't throw away the" baskets, which I happen to like from a burger place. They also serve Pepsi products, so for me that was a plus too. As for the ambiance... **This is a 3.5 star review that I'm rounding to 4 stars** Rumor has it that the owner of Flaming Burger used to sling burgers at Jakes. Knowing that tidbit, they do taste a little familiar. Which is a little unfortunate, since I was hoping for a bigger, tastier handmade patty. I guess it's true that you can't always get what you want. Flaming Burger is hidden in the Lochwood Shopping Center just to the left of Big Lots. You'll need to know that because you might not find it otherwise. The space inside is a bit odd. Orange walls that reach to what should be the ceiling, then white walls that reach to the lower atmosphere. Ok, not really. But the ceilings are really high, like 30 feet high. The result is a warm, echoey room that feels a little sterile and lacks coziness. The food is indeed A-Ok and a half. The burgers aren't the best in town but they do give you another option in an area that has few unique burger joints. I added jalapeño bottle caps to my burger and liked the result. The toasted poppy seed bun was the biggest standout and made the burger more enjoyable. We split an order of cheese fries that went all gooey toward the bottom, as cheese fries tend to do, so we didn't finish the order. The price of the food was a bit high ($21 for 3 people) when compared to Jake's, but only by a few dollars. I definitely want to go back and try a few other menu items and when I do, I'll know to bring beer. (they're BYOB) I was a little underwhelmed, but that's my fault for expecting an armpit burger. I truly hope these guys make it since they were both very friendly and eager to make us happy. So, 3.5 stars to start. That should give them plenty of room to grow. read more

I visited Flaming Burger with a good friend for lunch last week. She wanted to help a local business that had been affected by vandalism recently, so it was for a good cause. I selected a chili cheeseburger, stuffed jalapenos and "bottle caps" (sliced jalapeno rounds, battered and fried). The jalapenos were pretty good, although not outstanding. The burger had a wonderful poppy seed bun that was light and tasty, and chili and cheese were of good quality and taste. The meat patties were a little thin, but since it was a double, it all worked out. I sampled some of my friends' fries, and they were really good. The seasoning was great, and they had a nice crisp on the outside, yet were still creamy on the inside. Very nicely done. To top everything off, they had Coke Zero on tap! As others have mentioned, the decor is a bit minimalist, but if you want to come for the food and not what's on the walls, this is a great place to go. read more

I've been coming here since they opened (10 years ago?). They are still the best burger on garland rd in the area (i noticed the kellers down the street has become a pizza place now and was always a distant 2nd to this place). The same owner is still there working behind the counter that I remember from a decade ago. However be careful parking here as there's a homeless encampment at the gas station next door. And there was a SUV parking around the parking lot w/ two ladies and a man with the hood popped to make it look like they were working on their car to block views while they tried to break into cars in the parking lot. So basically if you're eating there be sure to have a view of your vehicle and watch for SUV's reverse parking to your car (so they can make a quick get away) and then popping the hood to block your view. Or just get it to-go and people watch in the parking lot of other people breaking into cars. read more

This is NOT just another burger joint. First of all, this place tucked almost hidden on the corner of the shopping center. It appears closed to the the untrained eye. But it's definitely open. When you walk in your hit with a Texas theme, very American vibe. The Mavs mural on the right with Texas Flags and other Texas framed photos on the left. For my meal I chose the the monster bacon burger, which comes with mustard, mayo (which I left off), ketchup, American cheese, and 2 beef patties. Words cannot describe how delicious this burger was, they have their burger making skills down to an art form. I was so pleased that it wasn't filled with grease. They cooked in a way that was pleasant and enjoyable for my mouth to experience. The poppy seed bun was so fresh and danced graciously with the burger patties and cheese. The fries were cut fresh and were very good. They didn't give me an overwhelming amount like at "five guys" which in my opinion I thought was good. If I had to critique one thing would be the unfinished look inside with ceiling, but no way form or fashion does that affect me from giving it 5 stars. Ketchup glass bottles are cool and in my opinion better tasting. I will definitely return! read more

Great burgers! Don't get the corn dogs those things were kinda gross. Chili cheese dog was pretty good. The fries were yummy. Everything was fresh just the way I like my food to be. I recommend trying the Texas Special it's super yummy. Oh and those buns are just the best, warm and crisp on the edges the way a burger bun is supposed to be. The burger itself was not greasy at all which was super awesome because most places are super greasy. This place was just fresh and super yummy. The customer service was amazing. We spilled our drink and someone immediately came over and cleaned it up for us. My hubby was trying to clean it at first but when the nice lady came over and said not to worry about and she'll get it he eventually stopped. The burger was filling and tasted good, but seemed to be missing just a little bit of seasoning. The poppy seed bun was toasted just right and the burger was sufficiently juicy. The fries were good, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The poppyseed buns are hot and soft as a baby blanket Lettuce is shredded(my fave), big slice of tomato, onion is the whole slice, bacon had 3 long stips crispy to perfection.
