This is my second time going to Flap-Jacks, and unfortunately, I have to say, both the hubby and I were disappointed in the flavor of the pancakes. With the name Flap-Jacks, you would expect the pancakes would be delicious, but these tasted processed, if that's even a thing. I don't know if it was the pancake batter they use. It's definitely not made from scratch. Because of that, I have to lower my rating. Other than that, our server was great. The photos of our food was great, but the taste of the omelette and skillet were good - not the best we've eaten.

We meet friends from Chicago for breakfast when we come into town. This is our go to place. Service is always great. On this trip I ordered the Potato Pancakes, which were wonderful. They reminded me of the ones my father made 50 years ago. My wife loved the Irish Benedict with hash browns.

A delightful local spot where staff seems to know everyone who comes in. And even though I'm not a local and it was my first visit, I was welcomed warmly and treated like I was a regular. I got there a few minutes before their 7 a.m. opening but was invited in and seated immediately. My server brought a menu and water, then apologized because the day's first pot of coffee was still brewing. Rich and fairly full (NOT typical diner coffee), it was worth the wait. The menu is extensive and it was a bit hard to choose but I settled on a two-egg breakfast which came with hash browns, grits or fruit, and two flapjacks or toast. For less than $10, that's a bargain today! My server and others checked back from time to time, and it's nice to see a place where everyone works as a team. No, "Sorry, this isn't my section" here. It's a pretty large space for a breakfast and lunch place, but it's nicely decorated with a small fireplace, giving it a cozy ambience. The only (really minor) criticism is that the restaurant's web site says it opens at 6:30. Hours here on Yelp!, which say 7, are correct. I'm only in town for a couple of days but may head back to Flap-Jacks tomorrow for a second go-round. Good food, nice atmosphere, great people. How do you top that?

Our first time here, and we came on a Sunday early afternoon, and it was very busy, but we were seated and taken care of right away. Didn't have to wait long on our food, which was fresh and delicious. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Would come back if in the area. Would recommend.

First time coming. Was greeted warmly and seated quickly. Place was lively and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and well portioned. That waffle was so good.

Jill was my server and she was such a smiley delight! Menu is pretty impressive with a ton of options, including dishes for health enthusiasts like me, but I would have liked to find gluten-free toast, which they didn't offer, and for that I'm giving it just four stars. I just feel that if you can offer rye, wheat, white, raisin, English muffin, biscuits, and sourdough, why not gluten-free also? That said, they do offer gluten-free pancakes. The place is located in the corner of a little shopping center off 95th. Interior is unexpectedly spacious! Tall ceilings. Brick walls. Lots of booths. I felt like I was traveling and stopping for a bite somewhere new and exciting. It had a great vibe!

The service and ambiance were great, I just felt like the skillet I ordered was a bit lacking in flavor. I got the Mediterranean skillet, which I think could've used more seasoning and feta. However the pancakes on the side were so fluffy and delicious. I think I'll give this place another go but for some of the sweeter breakfast options.

    Budget busting Coke

Perhaps I've been asleep for 20-years, but since when is a breakfast-accompanying Diet Coke $3.99? Perhaps she thought I said '74 vintage Cristal? C'mon! So, 2 eggs (yes, expensive), a meat selection, hash browns, and toast: $14.97. Total with "exclusive" Diet Coke: $22.90 plus "suggested" tip: Total: $27.40. Huh? Remember $1.99 Denny's breakfast? I will say they are amazingly efficient because the order was placed and arrived in...3-minutes. Like an Indy 500 pit stop-quick. Food good and hot. But cannot justify a $4 Diet Coke. Heck, I could have had a Four buck Chuck (Trader Joe's wine...used to be Two Buck Chuck). Over and OUT!

Service used to be good. The waitress today, Osiris C, was more attentive 2 older patrons. The cashier wasn't friendly to me. Food was ok, but service wasn't. Last time here.

Came here after church this is like a lowkey breakfast spot has a lot of good options on the menu tried the pumpkin pancakes was good but could've added syrup or an icing to go with it very nice staff and clean.

The restaurant was clean and had a modern classic vibe to it. The bathroom were kept up and the tables were clean. The service was great. Our waitress was nice and quick with service, she even helped us save money with our order. For the food I had the stuffed apple cinnamon french toast with a side of scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. The French toast was cooked to perfection and I love when they use brioche bread instead of Texas toast bread because it provides more flavor and richness. The apples on top were okay. They didn't really have the desired sweetness like you would get out of an apple pie filling but luckily the cinnamon sugar glaze made up for it. As a pastry chef I would suggest going with Granny Smith apples to help provide a tart but yet tender flavor to help give your french toast an extra boost. Now the filling was cream cheese and it was good but lacked sweetness. It was very tart and I understand why, to not over power the dish with too much sugar. But next time I would use Granny Smith apples for tartness and make the filling on the inside sweet. Then you have balance. The eggs were fluffy and good and the turkey bacon was okay. I mostly came for the French toast. Would I come back....yes.

First time dining in, I got the Corn beef hash breakfast and my dad got the Caesar salad. The Caesar was well presented and fresh, I'll definitely be back. 30 years strong!! Thanks again

Staff was really cool, super friendly, just easygoing. I got the two eggs with sausage links and a side of pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up with that rock yellow yolk running everywhere, just the way I like them. The links were also really good, with a nice smoky flavor. But honestly the pancakes were the whole thing for me. Super fluffy, soft all the way through. Golden on the outside, warm inside. Butter just melted right into them and I had to drown them in syrup, there's no other way. Every bite was soft and sweet without being too much. I almost didn't finish them... almost. I'd come again just for those pancakes.

I felt the entire meal was just OK. The corned beef hash was crumbly and though I was told it was made in house, it didn't seem like it. The hash browns and eggs were cooked fine but lacked seasoning. The pancakes were too thick and even though I paid $3.50 more for blueberries, they were hard to find within the actual pancake. The majority of blueberries were placed on top or around the pancakes. My sister's banana foster French toast was the best thing I tasted, so kudos to the cook for that dish. Otherwise, everything else we felt was just average and the prices were above average. My son's strawberry lemonade was $6, and it was fountain lemonade with a strawberry puree syrup added to the glass. Everything added up quickly to $100 for three of us so watch what you order and add on to your meal. I wouldn't return but it was a nice place aesthetically and location-wise. Also, our server Erica was quite pleasant and attentive.
