Flapjacks feels like stepping into a time capsule -- in a charming way. The servers were warm and welcoming, but the food didn't totally wow me. My Mexican Skillet (mushroom edition) was a 7/10, and the iced hazelnut latte stole the show at 8/10. Cute diner, nice people, okay food. Solid 3/5.

I just dropped into this place while waiting for my car being serviced and it is a popping place. I got seated pretty quick and looked at the bug menu selections for breakfast and lunch . I decided on getting the Farmers Scramble and the pictures others took didn't do justice on the large portion of the scramble. The service was great and they kept filling my coffee without asking.

Fantastic old school diner with friendly employees and fantastic customer service. They are known for their pancakes, or flapjacks. We ordered their daily special of carrot cake flapjacks, and their regular flapjacks with strawberry fruit topping and whipped topping. The pancakes were huge! We couldn't finish them. We also got eggs and a sausage patty that we split. They have a great deal on their mimosa flight with 4 different flavors to try. I would definitely come back and try some of their other options, come hungry!

When you come in, there's a coat rack near the door. There's a waiting area to the right with limited seating. There's some tables (not booths) in a separate room in the back and an awkward booth facing the waiting area. On the opposite wall, there's another booth. There's some seating at the counter near to the cash register for a party of 2 on one side, and a party of 4 on the other side. Those are the only tables actually facing a TV, but they're also right in front of the kitchen. Staff will constantly be walking in front of you and having their backsides turned to you. All the other booths are along the wall on the left side. If you want to watch TV in those seats, you'd have to turn your neck to the left or right. When it comes to the food, I think it's great. I've had their eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, and strawberries. I don't like that the fruit topping for the waffles comes hot. You have to wait for it to cool down, and then the waffles get all soggy. I just ask for fresh fruit, which they only offer strawberries. They do give enough whipped cream, butter, and syrup for the waffles. The food is affordable, and the portions are nice. For the drinks, I've only had their mimosas. They taste great, but they're more like juice. I hardly taste any sparkling wine. The service is okay. The food comes out quickly, but when you need a staff member, it takes a while to get their attention. Even when I'm waiting for the check, it can take several minutes to get the receipt. It's awkward to stand at the register and wait for a staff member to ring you (and a couple of other people) up on the weekend because there's already a lot people in the waiting area, so there's just a crowd of people standing there. If you're the one sitting in the waiting area, you have people's backsides in front of your face. Despite all that, I do like this diner. I hope they add more fresh fruit topping options and add more sparkling wine to the mimosas. I need to come back and try items on their lunch menu, though.

Cute little spot to go to. It looks like a local little diner. We were seated right away and we could see the kitchen counter area and the servers could talk to us from both sides of the booth. The servers looked like they all work together and help each other with the tables. The food came out quick and steaming hot. They were all good portions. My son had a different menu than us sand his had the breakfast special which our menus didn't have. We got the receipt and you can scan a QR code to pay your bill and leave which is nice. Good place for breakfast.

Out and about with my daughter and we decided to try a new place for breakfast. We came across flapjacks on Google and wanted to give it a try. The service was fast and efficient. The food we got was okay. It was a good place for a quick stop. The coffee wasn't as strong as I'd like it but it was okay. Seems to be the spot for senior discounts and gatherings.

We were looking for pancakes once day without having to go to IHOP or Dennos and came across Flapjacks and thought we would give it a try because of the great reviews. I am so happy that we were able to try this spot out because this place has fluffy, buttery pancakes. The best pancakes I have had in a long while. We also tried the omelet which was great, full of flavor and sharable.

Delicious food and great service friends people a must go. You need to visit and discover this place or rediscover

I'm beginning to notice a pattern: these aren't cookie-cutter restaurants. They have personality, a playful spirit, and the feeling that some people actually enjoy creating places where people want to gather and belong. Imagine a classic neighborhood diner that wandered into an arcade, picked up some incredible art, and decided everyone should just be happy. The staff are genuinely welcoming, the portions are generous, the comfort food gives solace, and breakfast lovers can rejoice because it's served all day. Whether you're there for a hearty meal or simply soaking up the atmosphere, Roc & Sol has earned its loyal following for good reason. A special note on Janah and Alicia (pictured), who made our family breakfast feel like more than just a meal. With effortless expertise, warm conversation, and infectious energy, these adrenaline junkies created the kind of experience that keeps people wanting more. They seemed to feed off the positive energy they shared with their guests--and gave even more in return. If Twisted Track Station surprised me by the genius of Crazy Matt, his family, and his people, Roc & Sol convinced me it wasn't a fluke. Sacramento needs more restaurants with this much heart.

Same great old school R&B music in the background. Same old booths. So- our entrees were just ok and the prices are definitely higher than before - which all places have increased their cost. But serving catfish nuggets that contained multiple pieces of small fish bones was troublesome- a diner could've experienced a terrible situation if not careful. The cold grits were also a meh situation. 2 stars for the food and an extra star for the local ambience. so i would give the food

Not only was their regular team there working as hard as they could but other local chefs, bartenders, and friends came to help feed the community one more time. The owner N'Gina gave a beautiful speech and the restaurant started clearing out of regular diners. I stayed to give my thanks and was blown away by the community and love that came through. They were still serving drinks and you could see how much love there was for N'Gina and this amazing business. So many people came through just to say thank you and wish her luck on her future endeavours. I found a spot at the bar and hung out for a couple hours talking to other chefs, business owners, and customers and everyone was not ready to say goodbye to this amazing establishment and the incredible food N'Gina brought to the restaurant. Their team ended up giving me a bowl of their staff dinner- fries, mac and cheese and pulled pork and I was so thankful for one last taste of this amazing restaurant before they closed for good.

I'm such a fan of her food! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon about an hour before closing, and to our surprise, the owner herself took our order -- such a treat! I ordered the shrimp po' boy with a side of fried cauliflower, while he got the double patty cheeseburger with mac & cheese. We also tried their house-made lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. Here's how everything rated: * Shrimp Po' Boy: 3.75/5 * Double Cheeseburger: 3.5/5 * Mac & Cheese: 4.5/5 * Fried Cauliflower: 3.5/5 The shrimp had a great crust, and that romesco sauce with the buttery fried cauliflower was seriously addictive. The burger had a nice kick thanks to the hot link tucked inside, and the mac & cheese? So creamy and cheesy--definitely a standout. The lemonade leaned more tart than sweet, and the Arnold Palmer was refreshingly solid. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. I loved that they kept the classic diner booths, vintage signs, and old-school decor--it all added to the charm, especially with the throwback jams playing in the background. Already planning my return to try the catfish sandwich, honey butter cornbread, and hopefully get my hands on one of their desserts next time--they were all sold out by the time we arrived! So you can tell how popular these items are, yum!

I hadn't been since last summer and was happy to return. Parking can be a bit hectic, but once you're inside, the atmosphere makes up for it. It's a family-owned spot, and you can feel it right away -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and takes the time to check in on you.
