With so many options in the area, it was hard to choose where to eat while in Hilton Head Island. You can't beat the location, it is right off the beach - so we had to give this place a try. Our waiter Andrew was super cool and friendly. My husband ordered the burger (which he usually has everywhere we go!) and he said it was good, nothing special but not bad or anything. My 14 year old son ordered the chicken BBQ flatbread pizza and he devoured it, he said it was really good. My mother got the chopped Cobb salad and it was huge! I got the Summer Salad with blue cheese dressing and it was the best salad I ate while on vacation at HHI! The menu said it came with homemade flatbread points, which my mother had to ask Andrew about because they didn't come out with our salads, but he said that is because the menu is changing in a few days, but he would go and make them for us. He brought them out a few minutes later and they were hot and delicious! We will definitely plan on coming back next time we come back for vacation. read more

Oh my god it's great!! On the weekend it is SO PACKED but we went on monday and i swear it was the fastest i've ever gotten my food at a restaurant. Food is great (i got the quesadilla and my mom got the coconut shrimp) we definitely plan on coming back. My parents have had a house on HHI since I was two, and we spent significant portions of our childhood coming here, so I've seen many a restaurant come and go (and frankly, rarely find good ones here). Since I hadn't been to HHI in literally years, we wanted to wander around the shopping center and see what sort of happy hours existed - and saw this place and their build your own bloodies weekend menu and decided to try one despite it not being quite build your own (but pick your own vodka, etc even without the build your own bar). I tried a charleston bloody mix with jalapeno infused vodka - AMAZING! It used to be hincheys (i think, but its been years so i could be wrong..) and the renovations are great - it's actually cute and nice inside (i.e. not a dive), and has a great outdoor space with tables and an open air bar. We returned for happy hour (sans doing any actual happy hour drinks) - for their key lime martinis and another bloody...service was a bit horrible when it was the young college students in for the summer (vs. an older gentleman we had our first time), so we had to go inside often to order more drinks/close bills, but regardless, lovely to sit outside on a nice afternoon and enjoy legitimately decent cocktails! Their cocktail list is pretty extensive too for a 'grill/pizza place' - martinis, frozen drinks, the build your own bloodies, and other cocktails to choose from...and should you so desire, happy hour is 4-630, and $4 wells, wines, and some sort of beer special. I believe they also have app specials, but didnt try those (seems an american/fried food kind of spot, along with pizzas i assume, as they have the wood grill for pizzas..) read more

Walked in just after walking around Hilton ahead, and were seated quickly. Waiter was fast and attentive! Food came within 15 minutes and was delicious! Food was good. I had the BBQ chicken pizza and Greek salad. However I can only give a 3 because the place is mismanaged. They told us to sit in the bar to wait on our table. After 30 minutes and seeing lots of empty tables, I asked about a table. The host, guy, had marked our names off the list. Then I noticed lots of tables sitting empty while people were waiting! I'm a bit mixed on the food here and disappointed with the waitress. We ordered burgers and they unfortunately had no flavor. Very bland and just disappointing, maybe frozen. Fries were good and the pizza at the next table looked delicious. The waitress was nice, however, service was slow. When we received the bill, we were owed $6.74 in change. She brought us back the $6 and kept the change for herself. This is unacceptable. She should not keep the change without asking and she needs to realize that this does not work in her favor, as I deducted this from her tip, plus some. Before we even order we get into an argument over how he wants to eat seafood gumbo at his old restaurant that has been closed down and reopened under new ownership and brand. The only thing is, when we were in front of the host station at that restaurant he asked me if we should eat there and I said I would leave it up to him to decide. Fast forward to the booth again. He mentions that if I keep it up, he'll walk out of there. I said dad, blame it on me. We ordered. Dad didn't want pizza, pizza while I'm in South Carolina, no way. He signals to Victor our server. Cancel my order I'm out of here, he throws me twenty dollars cash, have a good dinner, and walks out. I order the chicken and avocado wrap with cole slaw with horseradish on the side. Light on the carbs, heavy on the protein, blended with greens, and a side that was not greasy french fries. I drank water. I ate half my wrap, and boxed up the other portion for my second half of my dinner at the Tiki Hut looking out at the ocean. I spent the rest of the evening singing back up vocals to the acoustic artists on stage at Tiki Hut and then the Bermuda Triangle, no locks on the bathroom doors at TBT. American Idols. Youth energy everywhere. Brooke, who reminds me of the actress Aubrey Plaza, and has the body of eighteen year old, called me baby. The bartender gave me a free shot at TBT after I did backup vocals on Waste A Moment by Kings of Leon. Three police cars parked outside as I left just sitting there. I leave a few minutes before last call. I hear a woman scream in the car she's passing by in say sorry. I walk home replying, you never have to apologize to me. So, I have to get used to staying out late if I want to be successful at my new work as a good brand ambassador for PBS, so I was referred to go to the strip club to condition my body for these new good hours. Had the little pizza looking appetizer, loaded with tomatoes, bacon, cheese etc. That was great! Ordered the 10" for my wife and I. The Barbeque Chicken, man I could have that again!! A cool thing I seen was the hooks under the bar for your spouses purse and had outlets under there too in case you want to charge your phone or Ipad. Waitress was great. I kept thinking my taste buds were off while I was drinking my Fat Tire, and about 3/4 through, I just knew it was flat. So I was just informing her so they could change it out. She brought me a sample of the new keg, I approved and she brought me a new glass full. We got our bill, and she didn't charge us the flat beer. Great place and atmosphere. I hope we were there on an "off night", 8/12/14... because I haven't had this bad of a restaurant experience in quite a while. It'll be easier if I list it: 1). There was a big piece of dried food stuck on my beer glass. 2). Our appetizer of fried "provolone triangles" were over fried so much that half of them were empty, AND there was a piece of wax paper melted onto one of them. 3). We got our above mentioned appetizers and one of our friend meals at the same time. Ten minutes later we got two more of our meals while our 4th friend was still waiting. About 25 minutes after the 1st meal was delivered, his came out...and it was wrong. 4). We asked to talk to a manager and she was so rude, arguing that his meal was right, even though someone else at our table had ordered the exact same thing and it was different.... Long debate ensued. 5). Cooks were wearing sleeveless shirts with plenty of armpit hair hanging out and were eating pizza and other foods while making our food. Those are just the main things.... Sticky menus, weird beer glass pouring (used my beer glass to fill my husbands with another beer and then poured mine in same glass), waitress had to recheck what we ordered twice...and the list goes on. All I this could have been a little better had the manger acted as though she cared in the least bit, but she seemed more like a defensive, inexperienced and indifferent teenager. Sorry for all the negatives, but outside of the restaurant concept and our nice waitress, I can't think of any positives! read more

Just finished a meal here, Buffalo wings were pretty good not too spicy. Crab cake sliders were ok. Perhaps if they changed the bun to better quality bread and not over sear my crab cake patties it would be better. Nonetheless I have a burnt taste all over my mouth that lingered on throughout the meal. Stay away from the mini calzones the crust has no taste besides being almost burnt on one end and raw on the other marinara dipping sauce needs salt and it's fillings Italian sausage and pepperoni is bland. Not sure how they manage to make it bland but they did. One really good thing is that their service is pretty prompt and my server is very attentive. read more

Came here on a Monday night early about 6:00 pm. Got a nice summer salad which was supposed to com with their famous flatbread points-we had to ask. We then ordered a small pizza. Place was probably at 40% capacity. After 35 minutes I asked for the manager. She offered a free desert which was nice. The atmosphere was good-not to loud. Don't quite understand how it took them so long.Even after the manager assured us it was 2 minutes away it still took another 10. They finally comped us the pizza too. Puzzling. Great place for pizza. Thin crust is homemade with good toppings. Get a 12" size per adult to bring some home and enjoy later. Service was fast and friendly but our waitress was not very knowledgeable. We're sure that she is new so forgiven. Atmosphere is very comfortable and drinks are good. Initially our first impressions were great. We were greeted as soon we got to the door and our server Jared was very friendly and attentive. We noticed we were the first ones in the restaurant since they just opened the doors so we thought, "perfect, we don't have much time to waste so let's get a few quick apps and go. We were visiting the area for a wedding and decided to walk the beach and scope out the area. We stumbled upon flatbread and the Bloody Mary bar caught my eye!! We decided to get some lunch here and this was their only downfall-we waited at the hostess stand for over ten minutes and no one helped us. Finally, a worker came over and got us a table outside. We looked around at other tables and saw most of the guests were finished with their meals, dirty plates still on their tables, credit cards already out with urgency to pay, all with very unhappy looks on their faces-tell tale sign the service sucks. After waiting another ten minutes with no service we decided to sit at the bar. This is where the service turned around. We ordered from a nice man who we later found to be the owner. The Bloody Mary bar was awesome with tons of vodka flavors to pick from. The hummus and calamari was also amazing. The owner engaged in conversation and his service was great. We had to flag down other servers to help us because our server (Mike) was avoiding our table. I waived my arms to get his attention and he told me to wait. When we asked for a manager because our server stopped coming by....he suddenly showed up. He rolled his eyes at us because we wanted the check divided up. And then came back and told us the gratuity was already included and to have a great day....our server didn't care to offer great service because he was getting his tip regardless from the gratuity. read more

The food was "edible" and the service was decent. He did offer us a to-go cup for our drinks. The portions are very small and the prices very high. The seating was comfortable. They had music playing overhead and live "entertainment" outside. I would not visit here again. Lesson learned. read more

I would say Flatbread Grill is just "good enough". The location was excellent, they seated us right away & they took our drink orders quickly.
