Everything is sooooooo good! We had a variety of stuff and everyone's order was good! My fav is of course what I ordered and it's the shrimp and grits. Next time im gonna order it with the extra sauce!!! So much flavor. Also you must order "the mix" drink. Get a cup to go and add some alcohol to it. I promise you it will be amazing! We got here around 9:30am on Sunday and it's a perfect time before the crowd starts. Customer service is outstanding! Our server did the best on keeping us happy! read more

Found a new breakfast place. I searched grits in Los Angeles and this restaurant popped up. We arrived just before 10 on a Sunday. It was right before the room filled up. I felt lucky that were seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Our food was delivered quickly but not too fast (no microwaves reheating entrees. ;(). The food was outstanding. The catfish was fresh. The grits were the right consistency. The buttermilk biscuit was warm and flaky. The only part of the meal that was meh was our scrambled eggs. They were bland which is surprising since the rest of the items were flavorful. read more

I was craving southern style breakfast Saturday morning so my sissy & I was recommended flavor table & we weren't disappointed at all! We arrived at 10A.M. Anything after that be prepared to wait..... the restaurant is that big & it just got busier & busier. Joe was our server & he was so awesome he had the best energy & started us off with some warm soft biscuits we ate the entire basket! I had fried wings, grits, eggs, & my sis had fried salmon croquettes, potatoes, & eggs, it was enough to share with another person each plate. The food was really amazing! The customer service was great & it honestly didn't take too long for home made breakfast. If your not from the neighborhood I think you should still get out of you comfort zone & go get some southern style breakfast. It's definitely worth it & you will have leftovers for dinner later. read more

Our server Joe was amazing. He was hospitable and very attentive. The food was great!!! I had the chicken tenders with potatoes. My friend had the fried shrimp and eggs. I would highly recommend this restaurant the combos comes with a soft warm biscuit but their side which is just as high as the combos. It's a bit pricey so come with plenty of money. One more thing.... There is no refills on your drinks and if you order a soda it's coming in a can. read more

Was in town for a day and Wanted to support a black owned business. Flavor table was one still standing after searching for and finding several others that had closed down. We didn't even get to try the food. We arrived at 130 the business hours are posted as closing at 230 but we were turned away stating they were closed and stopped taking orders at 130. Though it may make sense to them it's very inconvenient to us having drove 30 minutes across town to give it a try. Maybe the business hours should be posted as closing at 130 so others don't have this shared experience. read more

The food was pretty good but the grits were extremely underwhelming. I definitely expected more. The shrimp was well prepared though. The wait is long and unnecessary. I had to go to the cashier to ask for my card because my server was taking way too long to bring it to my table for my signature. I understand being short-staffed but... Other than that, the positives were that the hostess was helpful and had pretty decent customer service and my server was friendly. read more

Always Amazing! Hospitality is worth coming back. Food is always cooked to perfection. They offer an abundance of food and different varieties of New Orleans style flavors. The atmosphere is great. People are friendly and will engage in conversation if you are open to it. Personally, I love when my people are able to enjoy themselves without judgement! This was my second visit, it was Mother's Day so the line was clear outside. My friend and I ordered to go. The food did not disappoint. The ambience of the restaurant was like going to your favorite Aunties house for family dinner. Wished they took reservations or ADA outdoor seating. read more

Whenever I need comfort food or just good food, I go to Flavor Table. Everything is good here; the shrimp and grits is perfect. Their etouffee sauce is divine. Bottom line, I love it. I'd recommend calling in your order and picking up because it can get super crowded on the weekends and you may wait a while for a table. Id recommend Flavor Table to anyone at any time. read more

If you drive to fast down Florence blvd you might miss this amazing spot. Slow down... find street parking and be prepared to experience dining at its finest. Upon walking in I was greeted by the hostess. She was very nice & had a pleasant demeanor. The waiter was very bubbly & made us feel very comfortable. I ordered a sunrise. It arrived in a frozen wine glass ( such a cool concept) it was amazing & fruity. I also ordered split chicken wings, sliced tomatoes, and fresh buttermilk biscuits. Ah....mazing!!!! The food is so good!! My guy ordered Catfish, grits, and scrambled eggs. He ate everything & said "baby, these are real grits , not that 5 minute stuff you cook me " lol. Now I'm at a lost for words. I seen this place for years and never stoped to try it till today and I'm Hooked yoooo!!!! The peach cobbler French toast is the the best thing I've had in my entire adult life and I'm so excited to tell y'all. My experience the service is a lil slow but the people are amazing and it's worth the wait. I had a sunrise and it's Delicious. The French toast is pricey but you get your moneys worth. And all you get is French toast for $16.00 I love bacon so I also ordered the bacon and egg meal with cheese and grits. You guys I'm telling you I ate everything on the plate. And the setting was ok I just prefer to be spread out a lil more bit it's nice and the bathrooms are clean. Went here for breakfast, I had been to Red Flavor table before and it was very good. This was just as good if not better. Food was great large portions homey and comfortable atmosphere. Excellent service, staff was very attentive and friendly, it felt like eating at a friends house. Nice crowd everyone was friendly and polite. This review is solely based on the hostess came around 1130 for breakfast for a party of 5 was told the wait was 45 min waited over a hour one of my guest was a first time visitor and asked if they had mimosas and was told no we should have went to the The Court Cafe which is another restaurant... This place has some good food. I wish it was open more hours. Everything I've tried here has been good. I wish I could come more often. The salmon croquettes, shrimp and grits, etouffee (so bomb), pancakes and French toast are all excellent. The waiter was attentive and kind. We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated on a Thursday around noon. The place is small but kept up well for an independent joint. I can't wait until I'm able to go back. read more

I went with a small group today (Friday) at 11am and we were seated promptly. Good service and delicious food! I had the Peach Cobbler French toast- yummy! I also ordered the fried chicken wings - they were crispy and tasty, too. They give you nice portions and I had some leftover to take home. Everyone in my group seemed to enjoy their meal. My meal cost $29 and I don't mind paying extra for good food. It is a small restaurant and had some cool New Orleans wall art. I would recommend Flavor Table and will be back! read more

Was directed (given menus and told which table) initially to a table next to the kitchen that banged against the door frame and vibrated the table every time wait staff passed through. The proprietor seemed to interact with everyone except us. We were the only patrons with masks on so maybe they thought we were diseased. SMH....we've patronized this establishment several times but this will be the last. Ordered pork chop grilled w/grits. Chop was tough and dry at the center. Grits weren't boiled in salted water at all. Salt and pepper shakers need to be cleaned and sanitized. Catfish was tasty. When exiting restaurant proprietor looked our direction yet said nothing. We have a choice when spending our dollars...FLAVOR TABLE will not be the choice again. read more

My friends, family, and I have been coming to Reds for years. We loved the atmosphere, the food, and the service. During the pandemic, it closed for renovations so we had to eat at the one-off Florence and Market in Inglewood. It's not really designed for dine-in but is sufficient and still has a down-home vibe. Today my niece and I drove from Moreno Valley to eat there and the entire ambiance is gone. It has lost that "we are from Nawlins" feel. It had more of a cafeteria feel in the main entrance room than a Southern-style restaurant. The first thing that frustrated me was that my niece dropped me off near the front because I have a bad leg and the city is doing roadwork on Florence so the road was closed. I go inside and let them know its a party of two, it was empty, and the waitress said to sit anywhere. I did and asked her for a cup of coffee. She said she could not give me anything until everyone in my party was seated. Which made no sense, most restaurants will at least ask if you want to get something while you wait. Once we ordered our food and got it, my niece literally spit out her pork chop and didn't even take them in the to-go tray. She left them on the plate and said that they tasted as if they did not properly clean the meat. Fortunately, I did not have that same experience with my food. I had ordered the salmon croquet with a side of French toast. Everything was seasoned well and piping hot. Maybe today was not a good day to eat there. But we have decided that going forward we will patronize the one on Florence and Market street in Inglewood, we will just have to live with having our food served in to go trays instead of plates. read more

We were greeted by a guy who has the personality of your favorite uncle. Our server was very nice and the staff overall seemed to be happy and very attentive. The place has a neighborhood favorite vibe to it. The place is clean, and tidy nothing fancy but comfortable. I ordered the short ribs and gravy over grits and a side of catfish. The catfish was delicious and cooked to perfection, crispy on outside and tender and flaky on the inside. The short ribs and grits were next level. Tender chunks of beef and homemade gravy over a bed of grits could not have been better. If I lived in the area this would be my favorite breakfast spot. I will be back. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Chef Red W.

Red (Marilyn Wallace) is an American Chef and Restaurateur. Named Red for her red hair and fiery personality. A native of Marksville, Louisiana and raised in Port Arthur, Texas. Mother of three. Red received her first culinary experience from her mom, Dorothy, who taught her as a young child how to Create Flavors. Red's dream was to become an actress. She studied at Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. After theater performances and backstage gatherings, the actors would prepare their own meals, but her dishes stood out from the rest. They raved over her dishes and began calling her "Cook". "Cooking was not in my future, I wanted to be an actress "Destiny planned differently for this culinary magician... Who said nothing comes to you naturally? Cooking sumptuous dishes did to Red. This is where her journey begins: Personal Chef, Restaurateur, Caterer. She attended professional catering classes at UCLA and is a graduate of Epicurean Cooking School of Los Angeles.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

The chicken was well seasoned and crispy paired with tangy pickled vegetables and a tasty pretzel bun. The combination of flavours packed a punch but we did wish for a thicker slice of chicken. The tater tots were very well seasoned too and the sauces were yummy, something acidic would be a nice addition to cut through the fatty goodness. When we asked for utensils they didn't have any forks so they gave us one spoon and one knife. We made it work. Definitely want to come back to try other things on their menu whenever they rotate it.

I would've thought that was okay if the restaurant was busy, but it truly wasn't. Aside from our booth being in use, there were some people at the bar, another 2 booths occupied towards the kitchen side, and one table behind us at the corner in use, so it wasn't about them being busy. I'm hoping this was just a one-time experience because I've genuinely enjoyed my previous visits and would like to come back. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and I hope future visits feel a little more relaxed and allow guests to enjoy their time without feeling rushed to pay and leave.

All the servers here are attentive and offer to help with what to order if you're unsure. For dinner, the Crispy Pasta is their take on crispy pata but served with spinach tagliatelle. The crab fat fried rice is a no brainer and depending on the night you come, I highly recommend the Sinigang xiaolongbao special. You don't have to be Filipino to appreciate what Sampa is doing for the culture, just come by and see for yourself.

When she returned to seat us, I said "you're not putting us at that small table are you?" Her response - "yes...unless you want to sit inside." How was that not a conversation first? A professional would have said "I apologize, where would you prefer to sit? I see you made a reservation, are celebrating an event and we had some unexpected guests for seating options." Perhaps she was having a bad day, or was still reeling from a prior customer interaction but she was NOT up to the standards I equate with Manuela. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back to try their breakfast menu and other items though. Because peeking at the other tables they offerings looked delicious.
