Stopped by on a Sunday. Church let out so there was a decent wait time. I was working with limited time so once I sat and ordered we had to take the food to go. I ordered the pork chop breakfast. The biscuits are really soft and good. The pork chops are huge and I only could one with the meal. The potatoes were pretty good as well. The mix drink is super good and will be a go to every time. The place is lively and you can tell that it is a spot people visit over and over! read more

Probably the best hidden (slightly hidden) gem in Inglewood. The staff was super nice. Service was great. The food was amazing. This isn't a hipster place so when you order scrambled eggs, they are light and fluffy, not like the soft scrambled eggs LA seems to love. The biscuits are also soft and fluffy and absolutely perfect. The portion sizes are huge like true southern dishes. This is a place not to be missed. read more

I was hungry for some breakfast and decided on Red's. I didn't want to eat in so I called my order in for pick up. Once I arrived and walked inside I realized why in other reviews people said that there was a long wait. It's because the restaurant is sooo small!! The space MAY hold a max of 10 people. I ordered the shrimp scramble with grits. I also added étouffée sauce on top of the grits for $2 extra. This came with 2 biscuits. Although I didn't eat inside of the restaurant, my food was still hot when I arrived to pick it up. When I got home though, I had a little accident with some of the juice leaking out of the bag inside of my car... I tried my scramble and I have to say that it was very good. The portion was so large that I could not eat all of it in one sitting! The grits were just okay though. The étouffée sauce wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. It had congealed on top of the grits and made its appearance unappetizing but I ate it anyway. I would like to get the full dining experience so I will be visiting Red's again! read more

Friendly service, excellent food! Stopped by Red's Flavor Table for a hot breakfast last weekend. Enjoyed the peach cobbler French toast, grits and catfish. The peach cobbler compote for the French toast was scrumptious! The catfish was cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. The grits were a little thick, but tasty nonetheless. During our family reunion a few of us snuck away for some breakfast. We found Flavor Table on Google, and when I tell you eating here felt like I was at one of my family members house. The staff was so courteous and nice. Even the other patrons was super nice. We walked in and was seated right away. The food came out super fast too. When our food came out everyone eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. We sampled from all the plates and everything was delicious. I think I found my new breakfast spot. And if you're looking for some good down home cooking, this is the place trust me. I will be back. read more

This place came HIGHLY recommended. Today was the day to try it out. I arrived around 9/9:30. Was seated right away. (This was a surprise for me on a Sunday morning) Willie was everything you wanted in a server. He was attentive and checked on our table often. Our table ordered the fried chicken, scrambled eggs, potatoes, shrimp and crab scramble, grits, pancakes, and the salmon croquettes. EVERY DISH WAS AMAZING! We didn't have to add anything to our meal. (With the exception of hot sauce. I put that ISH on everything) the restaurant was inviting. It really felt like I was home with family. Flavor Table is where I brunched Sunday... I've been here before... I had a side of peach cobbler French Toast which is what I came for & a meal that included salmon croquettes, eggs & potatoes... I also had fried chicken... Yup! I'm greedy... They serve fluffy biscuits while you wait... My sister had shrimp, grits & eggs with a mixed drink that was recommended by our waiter... She said it was good... I ordered two Martinelli's apple juices as they don't offer refills...The food was great as always... If you heard that the flavor table has bomb food, you heard right! Even though I'm closer to the one on Florence, I went to the one off market and it was DEE LISH! I ordered the seafood omelet which kinda reminded me of gumbo with eggs? Lol weird combo but it was filling and tasteful. Idk if I'd get that again but definitely want to try more of their options because the flavor /seasoning was on point! Check it out ! read more

I've been here years ago and was in the area and decided to go for another experience. This place is small but always packed. Thankfully it wasn't that crowded when we came. Looks like they updated the place since the last time I came. It had a modern feel. It was extremely quiet which I found odd for a restaurant. Once seated, the service was slow but it wasn't bad. I had the impression there was no sense of urgency except in my belly. The prices were reasonable. I ordered the shrimp and crab omelet and it was amazing. The only thing I did not like was the load of cheese they put on top. I like cheese but too much is over kill for me. Don't come for me, that's my business. The potatoes were perfection. My friend ordered the smothered pork chops. The chops were tender but I have to say the gravy was bland and the texture didn't work for me. It wasn't my favorite. Overall, the food was cool. The environment was ok. It was some good eating just not sure I'd come rushing back. read more

Found this place on accident looking for breakfast! Glad my heart was telling me to choose Flavor Table. I had the spinach and crab omelette. They were very generous with the crab. I also ordered a side of salmon croquettes. The crunch and flavors was fantastic! My girlfriend got the chicken tenders and peach cobbler. The tenders were THICK! We definitely over ordered lol. But it was a noble attempt to try everything that peaked our interest. Kudos to the staff! read more

I live within walking distance of the restaurant for 3 years and this is the first time I've ever seen this restaurant. It took an outside resident to show me the restaurant and take me there and now I am hooked. Home cooking matching good creole cooking that I've been looking for which doesn't cost an arm and a leg to eat. The ambiance put me in mind of New Orleans this time of year in which I'm definately missing. I want them to expand their borders and enlarge their territory. This is a LA gem so on the weekends there may be a 15-20minute wait but it's soooo worth it. It's a breakfast restaurant so it's only open from 7am-3pm daily. The food and service is exceptional. The waiters will tell you about the dishes if you are indecisive about what to order. There's a lot of good choices so I would suggest you order something different every time you go or come with a lot of friends so you can try some of everything. As you can see from the pictures I posted the serving sizes are quite large. You'll more than likely have leftovers. Everything is very well seasoned and full of flavor. You'll literally want to close your eyes and hum your favorite love song as you take every bite (no lie). read more

It's Friday Morning 04/21/23 been here at least three times already, just say the foods are excellent. The Service is definitely lacking, I'd waited 15 -20 minutes before anyone approached the table. I'll definitely be coming back, the food just taste so good.Next time the young lady who was there hopefully I'll be seated on her side for service, the gentleman that help me I'll be nice keep my own opinions to myself. read more

It's the small things that will cause me to stop patronizing a black-owned establishment, even ones that I love. First off, the food is AMAZING! Always good, reliably consistent flavors. BUT.... I live a good 15 miles from the location. I called ahead of time because I was on my way to work.... 4 TIMES! (Went straight to vm) I get to the location and ask the cashier lady is their phone working. She says "No; we could have been taking orders." Possible. Okay. I place the order, pull out my credit card, and she says "there's a dollar charge for credit cards".... ?????? IN TIMES OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND HIGHTENED CONTACT AWARENESS???? Everyone is using cards so we don't have to handle money! And don't forget if you're part of a group, they do not split checks. So, after I place my order, I'm standing there and the waiter asks "Sir can you please wait outside? Thank you". It's 85 degrees outside! LOL! There were only 3 couples inside. I was at a restaurant in Pasadena where they used "up and go". You scan a qr code for your bill, and each person pays separately. Flavor Table, I LOVE YOUR FOOD!!! But can't we all agree that getting money for a credit card is low key "extra"???? That updating your phone system would be beneficial? That a waiting area on a hot day, is just an extra level of customer service? I'll be back, for sure! I tried to call and give this directly to you, but no one answered the phone. read more

When you first walk in I must say I love the cozy vibe, the waiter Joe is one of them type of people that will let you know what you should try like when you was child. I loved it. I tired the jambalaya scrambled with cheese grits, and potatoes. YES I said Jambalaya Scrambled and I must say I'm glad I got that. It wasn't over powerful where it will smack you in the face. The cheese grits was a second best choice. The drink I got was called The Mix. I 100% will be coming back. read more

Horrible first experience! I arrived Saturday 5/11 at 1pm thinking I would be able to dine in. The host gave me the option of dinning in or take out. However, after asking for dine in, the host mentioned that she was done taking dine in and I would be able to order for take out. I ordered for take out and host mentioned it would take about 20mins. After waiting 30mins, I checked my order, the host mentioned it would take an additional 10 mins and they would call my phone once my order was ready. By 2pm, I hadn't received a call and I decided to check on my order. Upon checking on my order the host informed me that my "ticket number" had been lost and it would be an additional 30 mins for my order. Terrible service! Highly disappointed. Hope that they can better the experience for others going forward. If I could give No stars, I absolutely would. read more

Let me start by saying The food was really delicious. I the peach cobbler French toast was soooo good. The prices were really high but that's inflation right. I wish the French toast came with eggs and sausage. I love having hot tea AMF they did not have tea options. It was an herbal tea of a flavor I wasnt crazy about (lemon ginger). When I asked the waiter he just told me "no" and walked off. Who doesn't have a basic Lipton tea bag or English breakfast?! I also asked for brown sugar and of course I was told no. Of course they had it because you cannot make The peach cobbler sauce without it. Then when we paid, we didn't get our card back we had to ask for our card back. I prolly would never return and it's unfortunate since I love supporting black businesses. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Chef Red W.

Red (Marilyn Wallace) is an American Chef and Restaurateur. Named Red for her red hair and fiery personality. A native of Marksville, Louisiana and raised in Port Arthur, Texas. Mother of three. Red received her first culinary experience from her mom, Dorothy, who taught her as a young child how to Create Flavors. Red's dream was to become an actress. She studied at Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. After theater performances and backstage gatherings, the actors would prepare their own meals, but her dishes stood out from the rest. They raved over her dishes and began calling her "Cook". "Cooking was not in my future, I wanted to be an actress "Destiny planned differently for this culinary magician... Who said nothing comes to you naturally? Cooking sumptuous dishes did to Red. This is where her journey begins: Personal Chef, Restaurateur, Caterer. She attended professional catering classes at UCLA and is a graduate of Epicurean Cooking School of Los Angeles.

The chicken was well seasoned and crispy paired with tangy pickled vegetables and a tasty pretzel bun. The combination of flavours packed a punch but we did wish for a thicker slice of chicken. The tater tots were very well seasoned too and the sauces were yummy, something acidic would be a nice addition to cut through the fatty goodness. When we asked for utensils they didn't have any forks so they gave us one spoon and one knife. We made it work. Definitely want to come back to try other things on their menu whenever they rotate it.

Parking is also limited since it's a small strip mall so just something to keep in mind if you're coming during busy hours. Overall, the flavor and food were solid but the lack of a sink made it a little inconvenient.
