Crawfish is good price here for Dallas. Good size and easy to peel. Seemed like most of the spicy was from the outside and not much flavor inside. Better crawfish other places but I will still be back for all the other food here.

Flying fish is always pretty good. My fav of all the things is the beans & rice so I'm glad it comes as a side with all the entrees. I got the salmon tacos which were pretty good. It was a Wednesday so my sister got the all-you-can-eat catfish. She was convinced it wasn't really catfish but it tasted really well. I also got raw oysters (not pictured), they were good but not the best I've had. Service is good and ambiance is casual.

    Half Dozen oysters. Excellent!

First time, not the last time. I do not live here anymore and was invited by a friend to meet there for lunch. Cool place and reminded me of Aw Shucks on Greenville. Glad I found it, they have the atmosphere and the food was very good. I have a new casual seafood spot!

They consider this a side salad. Took it home and had for lunch the next day.

lunch today at this location. I had fried catfish, pickled green tomatoes, hush puppies. Hubby had side salad and salmon. Both were very good, fast service, and good food.

The Flying Fish is a casual dining experience. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge! I've been a couple times and have always been pleased. Today they had rainbow trout on special for $11.49 with 2 sides (lots of options!). I got red beans and rice and fried okra, both were tasty and fresh. Also large portions. I also added 6 hush puppies for $1.00!! They have a couple seasoning options for the trout and I got both garlic butter and Cajun seasoning. It was so good! The fish was flaky and flavorful! We also split a dozen half shell oysters, they were bigger than last time and fresh. I didn't get the guys name that took our orders but he was extremely helpful and friendly. The food came out fast and fresh. It was great!

My family and I visited the area for the weekend, and we loved Flying Fish! We ordered a variety of items but their fried catfish was amazing. It was crispy, moist, and flavorful. Also highly recommend their grilled redfish, and their $1.50 oysters on Sundays. It's counter service and a parking lot right outside. Would highly recommend Flying Fish for a great hole in the wall local spot.

We were in the area trying breweries and needed a bite to eat. We love some seafood so during our search of local eateries, I come across this place. You walk in and order, and then they give you a buzzer. When it goes off, you go he your food. They sell beer. They had a couple boil options which my husband enjoyed the snow crab and shrimp boil and my dad had the shrimp boil. The food looked good and the Cajun seasoning was not too strong. I had oysters on a half shell. The horseradish was on the table already but it seemed weak. My oysters were good sized, clean, and shucked. My mom had the number two most ordered item, but can't remember what it was. It was a piece of tilapia on a bed of rice, with shrimp and a Cajun cream sauce. She said it was super tasty. We tried their alligator queso. That shit was so freaking good. The little restaurant was funny. They adopt Billy the Bass from people and then you can get a free catfish dinner.

I've been to several of their locations and love the food each time! Fast and friendly service with decor that gives you something to look at and talk about! Their alligator bites are my favorite but their crawfish, soups, and desserts are excellent too. This is my go to spring and summer seafood spot!

No where I'm from you can find this cheap or shrimp/snow crab legs for this price. The food and ambiance is so chill and such a vibe. It makes me feel like I'm in the south. The service was so easy and he reccomenedidng getting the margarita's I did it on the rocks and eventually ordered 3 all together. I would come back to Dallas just to eat here again. I'm also telling everyone I know!

This was my 1st time here & it was ok. The fried oysters were ok, the breading wasn't my favorite. It gave me the boxed breading. The 1lb shrimp was flavored amazingly though! It's definitely on the more pricey side so I'm not sure if I'll return.

    Ambiance at its best!

The food was delicious! (Best to least) I had fried catfish, hush puppies, fried banana pudding, fried shrimp, fried okra and the red potatoes. (Don't judge me.) I loved all the sauces and fresh horseradish right at the table for knocking your flavor preferences out the park! The woman was extremely helpful to pick out exactly what I wanted to order and I enjoyed the ambiance on the walls. Quite entertaining!

Flying Fish sits nestled between the Trinity river and the Dallas Design district. The interior--with its tackle boxes, fishnets, checkered table cloths and vinyl seats--sets the mood for some solid seafood (lake, river, and swamp food as well). You can enjoy some oysters and a cold beer, crawdads, crab legs, fried broiled or grilled fish and shrimp (and lots more) while tapping your foot to some old blues tunes on their in-house music. FF has a down-market 70's fishing-trip in the station wagon vibe that's comforting and no frills, but very tasty! Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Always love coming here! Great food. Wish the oysters were bigger though! Had the grilled blackened rainbow trout - SO GOOD!

And what…read morefollowed was a core memory in three courses and a complimentary Bloody Mary shot accompanied by the cutest green olive. The moment we walked in, it felt like home, but not in the "kick off your shoes" way. No, this was the "you're safe here, baby" kind of home. The vibe? Cozy. Elevated. Like Restoration Hardware met someone emotionally stable. Elliott was our server and an absolute delight. Joseph was the manager, casually spreading joy like Oprah with a tray of Bloody Mary shots. Amber... now let me pause here, because this woman deserves a paragraph of her own. Amber isn't just a GM. She's the kind of soul you meet once and never forget. When I asked for her to come to our table just to pay her a compliment, we both practically teared up. She received it with open arms, no ego, no deflection, just pure, gracious presence. I was mid-sentence and suddenly I had that Creed song stuck in my head. You know the one. "With arms wide open..." That's the kind of energy she brought to the entire restaurant. Amber made every person in that room feel like they mattered. Not because it's her job, but because it's who she is. She's fresh off earning her master's in hospitality, and if that degree came with a crown, she's wearing it. The Porch doesn't just run smoothly. It runs on Amber energy. But let's talk about the moment I saw God. Cornbread Eggs Benedict: Not crab. Not salmon. Corn. Bread. And not just any cornbread. The softest, fluffiest, most cuttable cloud of golden glory I've ever had the pleasure of annihilating with a fork. A fork, not a steak knife. Do you understand how rare that is? Normally I'm out here sawing through an English muffin like I'm in a lumberjack competition. This? Melted like butter. Tasted like a hug. 12/10. Incredible. And then, as if the eggs benny enlightenment wasn't enough, Joseph reappears with a tray of free Bloody Mary shots for the entire restaurant. With olives. For everyone. The joy? Immediate. The energy? Electric. The crowd? Unified. I watched a grandmother at the next table raise her glass like the queen she is. I nearly cried. This wasn't service. This was a masterclass in human connection. Restaurants can be transactional. Robotic. This was the opposite. This was care, intention, soul. My high school principal once said: "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra." The Porch brought extra, bagged it, garnished it, and served it on a tray. Final thought: If you're not brunching here, I'm concerned. If you are? I'll raise my Bloody Mary shot to you. And Amber, if you ever run for mayor, you've already got my vote. I'll run your campaign and show up in a custom t-shirt.

To that one guy in the reviews who said that "the trough" will require at least 4 grown men, he was correct. I think this is a good amount for 4 men (without feeling absolutely disgusted from all this fatty deliciousness). The trough comes with 1 pound of brisket (5ish), 1 pound of beef ribs, 1 pound of pork ribs (5ish), 1/2 pound of pulled pork, 2 hand made sausage links, and 2 sides along with raw onions and pickles. The brisket is so good. Melt in your mouth. Make sure you get to try some of the leaner and fatty portions of it. The beef ribs are also perfect. It was Smokey, fatty, and fall off the bone just by touching it. I also very much enjoyed the sausages. The jalapeño cheddar and the maverick sausage (hatch chilis, cilantro, and queso Oxana, amazing) were so good. The Mac and cheese and collared greens were very good. Did not get the try the other sides. The bbq sauce was also very tangy and the brisket sauce? (I think?) is also a little acidic and a perfect pairing. There is an indoors eating area (AC blasting), but also an outside area with benches. The service is great and fast

Every time I take someone new there, I tell them that there hasn't been one dish that I've ever thought "meh" about. Every dish is so flavorful and outstanding. That said, I absolutely have my go-to order: the cornbread (a must), the southern greens, and the fried chicken. The cornbread is almost like a melt in your mouth dessert, that I happily start every visit with. The greens are packed with rich, savory flavor, and I'm not kidding when I say that every time I have them, I literally dream about them for weeks after. And the duck fat fried chicken? Crispy, juicy, and hands-down some of the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the whole experience just feels thoughtful, from the quality of ingredients to the execution of every dish. You can tell there's real intention behind everything coming out of the kitchen. If you're anywhere near Farmers Branch, this spot is worth going out of your way for. And if it's your first visit--trust me, get the cornbread, southern greens, and fried chicken. You'll be dreaming about it later.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
