Pretty good as far as pizza places go. I love the sourdough crust! That definitely is a huge differentiator for them. It is far superior to standard pizza crust. Their patio at Broadway is still not open. Looking sad. Sat at the bar with a menu while drinking the whole pint of of beer and none of the 3 employees asked to take my order of PIZZA. I went in at dinner time to get dinner. F'it left at the end of the pint and had to aggressively ask to pay. Lost sale$. No "want another? Want to eat since that dammn menu is in front of you?" We have been customers of this establishment for as long as I can remember. They were the go to establishment for pizza in Boise for decades- sadly, those days are over. Last weekend we decided to order delivery. Proceeding through the ordering process...we were informed that they no longer deliver pizza and our order would have to be delivered by Door Dash. We don't use food delivery services such as this because we simply don't trust them but reluctantly proceeded with the delivery order. The person taking our order on the phone asked if we were going to include a tip for the delivery service- we told them that we would tip in cash upon delivery. Then we were told that if we didn't tip on the order that "something bad" might happen to our food by the delivery service. This is flat out extortion and intimidation by a Flying Pie employee. We're done with them unless they bring back delivery of their product. read more

This location has 5 pizzas, not all on deck at the same time 2 overcooked pasta options a few dips also for a salad bar.......u have 4 bowls of *prepared salads* to choose from & a dressing station next to the bowls of lettuce. There isn't so much as a cruton in sight to add! That being said their pizza is good and fresh. The dessert bar is a tray of tiny brownie bites scattered on a plate. So buffet IT IS NOT! Good pizza it is, and if like us u dont want to wait a bit to long for a slice of pizza for lunch...by all means this is a great buy. Avoid Flying Pie's Broadway location. I have been a loyal Flying Pie customer since ~1978 and they are hands down the best pizza in the Treasure Valley...with the glaring exception of the Broadway location. While I was really excited when this location opened a few years ago, time and time again they have disappointed. In fact, it's hard to even believe it can be part of the same organization. First, the crust has an entirely different texture and is often oddly chewy. Second, their pizzas look thrown together haphazardly and often have a 50% margin of crust, with the rather stingy amount of cheese and toppings concentrated only in the center of the pizza. If you want the true high-quality Flying Pie experience, it's worth the drive to other locations such as Fairview or State St. The Broadway location is best avoided. read more

Flying Pie Broadway has an identity crisis. It doesn't know what it wants to be. Not even a year and a half after they returned to Broadway (years ago they had a hole in the wall location next to the Suds bar), they stripped away the order station, built and hostess stand and began acting like a sit-down restaurant. Oh, and no more of those electronic tracking gizmos that tell servers which meal belongs at which table. The ownership of this location had originally emphasized the difference between it and the other locations by cutting out the lunch buffet and the salad bar and instead offering fast-fire'd personal size pizzas. I liked the offering, featuring a crispy crust cooked quickly. Those pizzas have been ditched. Instead, they offer a small pizza and your choice of a pasta dish or sandwich for $10. I went in shortly before noon on a weekday amid just a few other early diners. Previously, I was used to a lunch pizza arriving at the table in about 10 to 12 minutes. Add a dish, apparently, and you double the wait time. It was 23 minutes before the dishes arrived. Not great timing when you want time to eat and still get back to work in less than an hour. They went to a loaded pizza, which I'm sure a lot of people enjoy. The downside is that while the pizza had a nice char on the bottom, the side next to the toppings was nearly raw. Those other ingredients shielded the top of the crust from the heat. I have been eating at Flying Pie since the early 1980s, back when the Fairview store offered a plate-sized piece of pizza and a pop for $2. To get the same pizza I remember from back then, I'm going to have to go to the Fairview or State Street stores. The Broadway location is still searching for itself. read more

I will be back!!! This place is amazing!!! My first time I had to try the habanero pizza, with pineapple but no chicken. Amazing!!! I love Hot food, but only if it is flavorful. The two level worked great for me. I didn't need milk or ranch dressing. Just enjoyed the pizza and all the combination of flavors. We had leftovers, but they didn't last the night. Yummy hot or cold temp wise. On my second trip I will begin the process of enjoying more of the menu. I figure if they put it on the menu...it's worth a try. I can no longer recommend Flying Pie since they started using Door Dash for home delivery. My wife ordered a couple of pizzas today to be delivered and we never got our pizzas. Either Flying Pie gave Door dash the wrong address or there was an error in the Door Dash program. The 1st delivery driver contacted us about the wrong address but said she couldn't deliver it to the right address because Door Dash wouldn't let her deliver to a different address because of safety. She returned the pizza to Flying Pie. I'm not upset about the delivery person following policy. It makes sense to me. What doesn't make sense is the 2nd delivery person had the same issue with the address but said the order was delivered to us which it wasn't. 2 hours later and everyone is now staving. Flying Pie said they would not attempt delivery again. After we called Flying Pie they should have made sure the address was correct. read more

We have gone to Flying Pie twice this month and we have had great experiences! We have BSU season tickets - but live in the Twin Falls area. We decided to order a pick up order from Flying Pie on our way to our hotel. It was perfectly ready when we got there on time. The Fromage A Trois is absolutely delicious if you are into cheese pizzas. The boys in my family dig the No Vegy Pieway if you want 39 different kinds of meat on your pizza. Not my jam. :) The second time we tried Flying Pie we went in and sat down before the game. It definitely got busy near game time but the food was timely and the waitress was totally on top of things. Oh - the single salads are pretty good sized! Probably could split between two people. Oh and while you order your beer - make sure to get the "Flying Pie Bread Bites" off the starters section. They are freaking delish. Thanks for being a new staple for our family! read more

I have tried Flying Pie on Broadway several times since they have opened. The first night was the soft opening and of course everything was fun, bubbly, and service never missed a beat. The past two times have been pretty enjoyable I guess. I really want to rate this place high because I will admit, it is a great addition to Broadway. However, they need a little more time to work through the new location issues. I plan on visiting again at a later time and I will update my review. Until then, I think my experiences outside of the opening have been three stars. There is nothing special or over the top about it this place. They have what are called fast fired pizzas but you can't order certain pizzas in the fast fired "format." No big deal, I will just build the samoa with different ingredients, one at a time. Well, they don't have all the ingredients available to build it as a "fast fire." Makes no sense to me except they want to force me to get the larger more expensive pizza by restricting what I can get in the fast fired "format." The interaction was odd to hear her explain. Fine, just plain, boring cheese will work. The pizza came out quickly, which is the reason for the fast fires they tell me. All other pizzas looks gooey and wonderful, mine looked over cooked with little to no cheese really on the crust. I will try something else next time. Service was a little scattered. We had about 5 different servers come around and talk with our table. Two of our friends ordered a pizza but it was accidently given to another table. They put another one in the cooker so it took extra-long. I appreciate their effort to make things ok but while they were trying to make things ok, we had 5 separate servers tell us about the pizza and why it was taking so long. We also had several different stories as to why the error happened. One explanation would have been fine but in their attempt to try to make things better (we were fine with it), it became annoying. They did offer us garlic knots and an extra pizza to take home, which was VERY KIND, but that many people coming to our table just felt like an overkill. Thankfully our group was understanding and fine with everything. The establishment itself is very nice, clean, and has some fun beer drinking and pizza eating potential. I will be back when they have their feet a little more under themselves. read more
