On April 17, 2026, around 4-5 p.m., my boyfriend and I decided to have dinner at Fogo de Chão for the first time. The only reason this review is late is because I have been trying to find the right words to describe what was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. To start, the restaurant was not busy. It was actually pretty empty, which makes the lack of service even harder to excuse. We were excited because neither of us had been to Fogo de Chão before, and we had never really experienced Brazilian churrasco dining. Since Fogo de Chão heavily markets itself around the "experience" of a traditional Brazilian steakhouse, we expected attentive service, endless meats, and an atmosphere that matched the price point. That is not what we received. My boyfriend ordered the Full Churrasco Experience, and I ordered the Picanha, which included the seasonal market table. Considering Fogo de Chão is not exactly a cheap dinner, I expected more than being ignored for most of the meal. Honestly, the best part of the experience was leaving. We saw our server maybe twice. The second time, he handed us our drinks without even looking at us. We basically got a view of the back of his head as he rushed off somewhere else. Our table cards were set for meat service, yet the gaucho chefs repeatedly walked past our table, served other customers, checked on them, and even asked them if they wanted specific meats brought out, while my boyfriend and I were treated like we were invisible. We could barely get any meat, let alone actual service. At one point, we asked another server, not even our own because ours was too busy helping everyone except us, if we could get more bread. We never received it. It was not until another server nearby noticed that I was visibly upset that anyone bothered to check on us. By that point, I did not need anything except the bill. The most disappointing part is that Fogo de Chão is supposed to be about the experience. Instead, we paid for an expensive meal where we had to sit and watch other people receive the experience we were supposed to be having. Maybe the food would have tasted better if the service had not been so bad. But when you are ignored for almost the entire meal, even the food starts to taste like a mistake. I have never had service this poor in my life, or more accurately, no service at all. For a restaurant that prides itself on hospitality and an elevated dining experience, this was embarrassing. I would not recommend this location to anyone who values their time, money, or basic acknowledgment. read more

One of the must-try Brazilian steakhouse franchises. To be honest, this Brea location isn't the best since I prefer the Irvine restaurant- it's clearly the winner and worth it to drive further. But this place was better than the Beverly Hills location- that one brought out saltyyy meat. This spot is located in a small parking lot, and the restaurant is small and cramped with tables being too close to each other. I felt almost claustrophobic from how busy it was. I've seen 2 instances where servers dropped things or bumped into people. The restaurant was loud inside, but regardless service was great and it's a great place to eat. The "Best of Brazil" deal is totally worth it, since you get to try pretty much most of the meats. Salad bar was good as always too. I've always been curious to check out this new location in Brea. The aesthetic was stunning. So we decided to grab Costco egift cards and went for it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and parking is near impossible. It is located next to In and Out which makes the parking and traffic worse. We arrived and were seated fairly quickly. The server was nice. The salad bar options seemed a bit limited. They had papaya out but none of them were actually ripe. Same with the pineapples. They did, however, serve warm bread and mashed potatoes to the table. The meat options seemed limited too. Not much variety. The same options circulating and some were overcooked and dry. I've been to another Brazilian place recently which wasn't as aesthetic but options were plentiful and the meats were juicy with plenty of options. We found a piece of glass on one of the plates brought to us. We alerted the team. They were responsive. They gave us a dessert on the house. We chose the bruleed cheesecake. It was the best thing I had that night!! Don't skip dessert. Fogo is a solid Brazilian spot but just isn't my fave anymore. read more

The restaurant is large , a ton of tables and was very busy when I was there. The service was good, never had to wait long for another meat to arrive at the table. I don't have anything negative to say other than I would rather dine at a steak house and enjoy one steak. I think this type of restaurant is just not my thing. The meats were good, would not say anyone was great. Maybe I just expected it to be on another level than other Brazilian steak houses I have been to, and although I would probably say it was better the difference was small. Fogo holds a special place in our hearts especially since we hosted our wedding reception at the Irvine location two years ago. Today we decided to check out this brand new location near us. When we walked in they weren't taking in anyone w/o reservations, luckily my husband got online right away and got a reservation on the spot. The aesthetic of this location is pretty, I love the tall ceiling, the layout, the bar area and the grill and food display. The service was great thanks Ethan! The meat keeps coming out. Food is delicious as always, the salad and sides were always replenished and taste fresh. The meat of course is the star of the show, our fave were the pork belly, beef ribs and ribeye! Food was pretty good, although some meats were a bit too salty for my liking. We (2 adults) had a reservation and we were seated to one of the small tables which I imagine they can normally put them together to use as a large table for larger group but got separated for multiple small groups. The space between our small table and the neighboring small tables was about 12 inches. Yes, it was very tight. There was no tablecloth, although we noticed some larger tables were covered by nice white tablecloth. Since the tables were so tight, the gentleman who was sitting next to us literally had to move their table to make more space for him to go to the salad bar. And the old lady sitting next to us on the other side kept talking to us as if we were family and sitting at the same table. I never like strangers keeping talking to us while dining at restaurants. We ordered "The Indulgent Churrasco" each ($98 as of April 2026) but they did not bring the lobster for an hour. They asked at least 3 times if we already had had the lobster and when we answered "No. not yet" they said they'll bring it in 5 minutes. We didn't know what was going on. So we at least enjoyed other food items but started feeling a little awkward waiting for the lobster for an hour and at that point we were not so hungry anymore because we ate other things. Finally we asked them to downgrade our order so we can pay $78 without lobster and dessert. ("The Full Churrasco" $78) We were ready to pay, and asked for the check but then they brought the lobsters in clear plastic container in a hurry and told us we can take it to go without paying for it. Ok, now this made us look like we even tried to get the lobsters for free intentionally! That is not good! This place opened not too far from our home and wanted to try at least once. However it ended up giving us this awkward experience. Once again, the food was not bad. We may come back and give another try, or... we simply may go back to Texas De Brazil. read more

Came to watch the Japan vs Brazil world cup game since they opened early at 10am for their watch party. I was hungry and we ordered three items off their happy hour and the filet and crab cake because I love crab! So much bigger than I expected it to be, other crab cakes are small so I expected it to be much smaller. Pleasantly surprised. All the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. The bartender Adam was by himself and towards the end of the game, the entire bar was full! The CSR Joel delivered some of our food and asked us how everything was doing. We were waiting for more water at one point and Jonathan came over and filled our cups stating he had noticed we needed more water and asked if we needed anything else after that. I felt like every need I could of had was fulfilled. 10/10 experience. Will be back to the bar for sure, but will have to come in and experience the full Churrasco when we have a bit more time to indulge! read more

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. My experience at Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse - Brea on February 26, 2026 was extremely disappointing. My friend and I made this reservation over a month in advance after being told about a $40 "Carnival" event and we were told this event included unlimited meat service at the table. We drove an hour and a half for what was supposed to be the full experience, especially since it was my birthday. Instead, we were served very small portions of finger foods and never received the unlimited tableside service we were promised. There was also major pricing misinformation. We were first told the Market Table was $18, then informed it was $40 after we had already served ourselves. We changed our order to only one, yet were still charged for two. When we first asked to speak with a manager, we were sent a customer service representative instead and felt like we were being sent on a goose chase. When we eventually spoke with a manager, she laughed in our face during the conversation, which felt dismissive and unprofessional given the seriousness of our concerns. The most concerning issue involved payment. I used a gift card, and it was not returned to me until I specifically asked for it. I was told it was assumed I wanted to apply it toward the tip. This gift card still had a lot of money on it. A restaurant should never assume how a guest wants to use their remaining balance. When we called to speak with the general manager, instead of being calmly spoken to we were yelled at he was very angry on the phone, and he was shouting at us the entire time instead of understanding our concerns and addressing them accordingly. This was highly unprofessional and very disrespectful. We asked for a refund because we didn't feel like we got the service that we deserved and they wouldn't give it to us. They were highly inappropriate. This was meant to be a special birthday dinner, but instead it was stressful, frustrating, and completely disappointing. read more

Our server was kind and friendly, but the person cutting fruit at the salad bar was extremely rude. When I greeted him first, he ignored me completely. Then, when I picked up a single piece of pineapple from the side of the cutting board, he muttered something sarcastic loud enough for me to hear. I asked, "Did I do something wrong?" He seemed caught off guard and replied in an irritated tone, "I'm holding a knife." To be clear, I was not standing close to him or near the knife. I simply picked up one piece of pineapple from a safe distance. After pausing for a moment, I told him that he could have politely asked me not to do that instead of reacting the way he did. Wife and I came Hereford lunch not realizing they had Sunday brunch. Menu stayed the same other than the omelette station, bacon and waffles. The food and service are excellent. Have no complaints there at all. The cheese bread, fried polenta and plantains were great. Lots of selections from their market table like smoked salmon, charcuterie and fresh fruits. Some of our favorites are the grilled cheese with honey, bone in ribeye, beef ribs were fork tender, picanha, pork belly with honey, and bacon wrapped filet. Sorry I could not take pictures. The meats were coming too fast. My suggestion would be is a better omelette station. My scrambled eggs were just ok. But I am not there for the eggs. Our experience was awesome! Hadn't gone out to eat in a good minute, so we were happy to get out of the house. This place always feels elevated, but cozy. They already had their Christmas decor out as well, which added the perfect touch. Although our server had many tables to take care of when we came in, she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Thank you to our server Erica for being on top of not just our table, but the others as well, in her section and the neighboring one. The servers carving the meats were also very attentive and remembered what meats we were waiting for, and made every attempt to give us the meat we were searching for. Asked to be moved because we would have been sitting next to two college kids on their phones the entire time. So annoying people with zero social skills coming into a restaurant to be on their phones playing their lame ass colorful bubble games lol. Get some communication skills and be present. So hostess moved us to another table but as soon as I sat down it was super wobbly. So I asked to be moved again. Didn't mean to be a pain but whatever. I could tell the hostesses were annoyed. Lol. I used to be a Somm at a high end restaurant here in OC so I know it gets annoying when a guest constantly asks to be moved. They ended up seating me at the table I originally asked for. A square four top table. We both did the Full Churrasco. Omg. Amazing meats. ALL of them were on point! Super moist, tender and delicious meats. Did the salad bar to but not too much. Don't want to fill up on that. Their bar is also perfect. Fully stocked. I got a few glasses of wine and my girlfriend got two Hendrick's martinis. Drinks were also perfect. Our server Julia was very attentive and professional. She was always checking on us as well as bringing extra bread and sides. Clean plates always and refills on water and making sure we were good on drinks and food. They made sure we were full before they stopped meat service. They even asked us if there were any other meats we would specifically like. Finally ended the night with desserts. Julia brought out the birthday cookie and ice cream cake my gf brought for me. Been to Fogo De Chao at multiple different locations, and this is by far the worst one. It looks the nicest from the outside, but the experience itself was extremely aggravating. They came to us 4x before making us wait another 45 mins just waiting for more meat to come out, and the first meat they brought out was hard and cold......... first bad impression. After waiting an hour for meat is pretty crazy. We kept observing and the runners of the meat kept going to the table next to us where it was all girls. That was the cherry on top. They got seated after us but got taken care of very well and had their dessert come before us. We ended up paying and still never getting our dessert..... Usually I'll get up and get the side dishes a few times but from how annoyed I was with the service, I didn't bother. I was getting full off the sides just from waiting sooooo long for the meat. So not worth the price at all. This place is not attentive whatsoever. Not organized, and does not live up to the Fogo standards. Very embarrassed to bring my friends here after hyping this place up. The Irvine, HB, & LA experiences are way different than what you get here in Brea. Their servers need more training and need to focus. They were messing around at the buffet area not being mindful of where they're at, blocking customers reach of the food. read more

I have been to the Fogo de chao in brea a few times but today I was sooooo disappointed. it was so nasty. I was seated by a window with dead flies! It was not only disgusting but I completely lost my appetite. I was actually in a celebratory mode looking to have an enjoyable experience. But when I complained about the dead insects, and asked to see the manager she said she was sorry and asked if I wanted to move tables. I said no, once I saw the dead flies and layers of dust in the window right next to my table, I had lost my appetite entirely. This is not a cheap restaurant and I expected better. Upon further inspection I see the curtains are totally dusty and filthy. Once I got the check. I saw a $12 discount and no real care that this restaurant that is $55 a head for lunch at a minimum, was so disgusting and dirty that me and my daughter lost our appetite. This used to be a place where my family went for celebrations. I won't be back after this experience. Absolutely nothing to celebrate here. read more

Went here for my mom's birthday and we had an amazing experience thanks to our servers Roman and Melek who were friendly and always checking on us if we needed anything. This was my family's first time here and Roman explained the process very throughly for us to understand. The consistent check ins were helpful as there was a period we weren't being offered meat and we let him know what we were looking for and it got brought to us. Towards the end of our meal, Melek took over and was taking care of us in the dessert portion, she brought over a candle and decorated plate for my mom's birthday which was nice and delicious.
