Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse in Addison is the OG of Brazilian style churrascarias that have popped up in North Texas. The Fogo in Addison continues to hold its own, and decades later it remains the original and one of the best. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Gone is the open pit in the front waiting area, but so is the wait. There previous waiting area is now a massive wine cellar, and luckily on my previous visits for lunch and dinner there was no wait. The majestic salad bar is the center piece of the restaurant and should be admired as you venture to your table. 1 Star. Service - The staff was excellent. Our server even mentioned they were the OG. A few changes (for the better), they'll ask you if you want their sides. I declined so I had more table space (and not wasting food). If they the cut isn't cooked the way you like it, they'll grab another skewer (medium rare, FTW). 1 Star. Food - There are 17 cuts to choose from. Many people love the Picanha, but I am a fan of the bottom sirloin, the ribeye (new), and the lamb chop. The bottom sirloin has a very beefy taste, and the ribeye gives you a great steak flavor. But the lamb chops (only medium rare!) are tender and juicy. New to the list is grilled pineapple. It's warm, sweet, and a perfect palate cleanser (or cheap dessert). But, while Fogo de Chão is the OG, they continue to evolve. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. While they are the original, they are not the best. North Texas has many new churrascarias, and in my opinion, the best is Brasão in Irving-Las Colinas. We just had our second business event at this Fogo location and it was wonderful, all because of Hoa, the Manager. He keeps his eye on everything, and no detail escapes his watch. He is so kind, personable and thoughtful, and made our entire experience incredible. We were able to focus entirely on the business, while Hoa made sure his team was on point. The most amazing surprise was how he personally jumped in to assist us when his staff was busy, offering tea when we arrived, making sure we had a special cut of meat, even cutting papaya at the salad bar. He personally guaranteed our satisfaction from every angle, no matter what. Clarissa was also super helpful and kind, jumping in for any request we needed. She really impressed us as well. We have been booking business events at restaurants and hotels for many years and wish we had always come here. It saved us so much stress. We found the prefect hack. Market table for $18 and just add your favorite protein for about $10. We usually only come for the picanha anyway. The other cuts are great, but the preparation of the picanha is hard to replicate at home. The salad bar is pretty good. Smoked salmon was nice. The veggies didn't really have much seasoning to them. The service was amazing as always. It's a very classy place. We will be back now that we know we don't have to get the full rodizio experience just to get picanha. read more

Went here a few years ago and decided to do The FOGO Churrasco Experience. It came with continuous tableside service of signature cuts of fire-roasted meat and it also included the Market Table & Feijoada Bar and Brazilian side dishes. For dessert, got the Tres Leches Cake and it was SO good - hands down the best one I've ever had. Food was pretty good for the most part, but service was slow. It's pretty spacious inside which is nice. Even though this isn't my favorite Brazilian Steakhouse, still had a good experience overall. read more

On 3/29/26, I made a last‑minute reservation for a party of seven. Upon arrival, the receptionist was initially polite; however, because our group had not yet arrived, we waited. When the rest of our party arrived and I informed her, she appeared visibly displeased and did not acknowledge us. This created an unwelcoming atmosphere, despite the fact that we were there as paying customers. There were a lot of empty tables. My family and I have been dining at Fogo for many years--and we have never encountered an experience like this until today. I need to preface this review by commending the staff for tireless and attentive service. The location itself is rather long in tooth with an odd parking setup which resides behind the building. The tables for four are rather cramped, but include hidden mechanics for extension, which considering the number of plates involved is prudent. My main point of contention, if you can even call it that, is really the quality of proteins and wares. While I don't have smoking gun evidence , there were certain items that did not exactly match their naming convention. For example, the filet, what I had might have been a tenderloin butt roast, but was certainly not what falls under the classical definition of a filet. The same could be said of the alleged "ribeye" that was served, I'm not quite sure what it was, but in my estimation it was not as expected. The best thing I tasted was probably the lamb, and even as such it was not really spectacular. Some of this critique would be situational, as buffets in general are not particularly appealing to me. I like them conceptually, but in practice the results are usually just mass quantities of mediocre food. The experience is probably best suited for those will glutinous indiscriminate tastes, who would prefer kilograms of food versus thoughtfully prepared and arranged plates that showcase the restaurants ability to purvey. This review is not indicative of something being bad, or perhaps inedible, but just rather a questioning of the logic conceptually. Considering the price ($65 for dinner at the time of writing), I can think of even steakhouses which would provide adequate portions that achieve higher quality and aesthetics for the same cost. As such, I hardly think a return visit is in my future. read more

So much fat and grizzle in majority of the meats. The chicken and lamb was excellent, but was not plentiful. The same story with the sausage. Good but not frequently seen. Pay that kind of $, you expect meat as good as Chipotle steak or even an Outback. Desserts were nothing spectacular either. Chocolate cake was like a mousse. We went to celebrate 4 of the 6 guest's birthdays at Fogo. We were sat next to another very large party (12 top) and it took a while to even have someone come over to give us water and menus, let alone drink orders. Even then, the drinks didn't arrive until after we started eating. The side plates for the meats arrived half way through the meal. I ordered the Sea Bass from the menu and that arrived halfway into everyone's meal. I actually questioned whether our server even remembered that I ordered off the menu and wasn't getting the meats on a stick. When it did arrive, it was mildly warm, but overcooked, like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for a while. Regarding the meat selections, when they came by, no one could hear or understand what the meats were, and the high end meats (other than the chicken and sausage) only came by once.We even had asked a manager to see if we could get some of the filet and lamb, he acknowledged it, but we waited 10 minutes with no meat. We had to flag down any server to get more drinks, which was just soft drinks and water...and a glass of wine. The service was just bad...and we were going to get some dessert but got so frustrated with no one coming by that we just decided to get the check and have dessert somewhere else. The most frustrating thing is 4 of the 6 of us had birthdays and not one single acknowledgement from the restaurant staff. We made reservations and I put in the notes that there were 4 birthdays but nothing from the restaurant. Huge disappointment and I don't think we'll be returning to Fogo any time soon. read more

Wish I could be writing a review that's on the opposite spectrum of this. I have been to other locations and decided to come to Addison's location for the first and last time on my birthday with my brothers to what should have been something memorable. Memorable it was - poor service. As stated, I came in for a birthday meal and decided to order from the a la carte menu. Server insisted on a special for ordering 3 steaks would come with a discount so we fell for the bait. While the steaks were worthwhile, what wasn't great was never being checked on by server; other than our initial order of drinks, the opportunity to order another round never came nor did we even get asked how the food was. After waiting about a half hour, I had flagged another staff member to request the check. I saw that staff member had gotten our original server to bring it to us. Mind you the discount (of $20) on three a la carte steaks wasn't honored, and when asked about it the response I got was "I was mistaken." Which is understandable, it happens but the service following wasn't acceptable. But I paid my tab and still left a tip. Imagine my surprise to see my credit card statement when seeing that final price for my birthday visit was 50% higher than when I left. Yes, 50% increase. I did the math and calculated that the server decided to add an extra 0 to his tip after I had left. Genuinely appalled by this whole ordeal. Shame to have this kind of experience at this level of restaurant. Can definitively say I will not be going back to this location at all what so ever. read more

I've dined at Fogo de Chão a handful of times throughout the years. It had been at least 7 years or so since my last visit. Even though im not a meat eater (except for occasional sushi), Fogo has an amazing market option (it's like a non-meat buffet) that is phenomenal! We dined here on Thanksgiving since no one wanted to cook or clean. It was a party of 8, and we had made reservations several weeks in advance. The restaurant was incredibly busy, but we were promptly seated when we arrived. After our drink orders were taken, we all headed to the market bar to help ourselves to some delicious salads, charcuterie fare and spreads. I have to say- I love places like this because I can try a little bit of everything. It's all about variety, of which there is no shortage of. I loved pretty much everything I got on my plate. Standout items were the Caprese salad, the Miso Noodle Salad and a Sweet Fig Spread. All the flavors blended well. Included in the market option were also Brazilian sides like black beans and plantains. Everyone else at my table also got the meat option and really enjoyed it. Most beloved was the piccaña. To finish, I had the crème brûlée. Smooth, custardy and delicious! Fogo is always a home run. Even for someone like me who doesn't eat meat; there is so much variety on the market table spread that you don't feel like you are missing out in any way. The food here is always fresh and delicious. I would not be surprised if going forward Fogo is our new Thanksgiving tradition. It was so worth it and everyone left happy! read more

Made a reservation and were told that they were busy and the wait after reservations could be 30-40 minites. We waited almost two hours without being seated. They kept saying that they're sorry for the wait and were trying their hardest to seat us. They weren't sorry. If they were trying, we would have been seated after 30 minutes after our reservation. I've eaten at this chain many times in other cities. I expected the same but was disappointed in this location. First, the smell was old, wet carpets. Don't know if they flooded during the recent storms, but it smelled terrible. The place just appeared old and worn out, management needs to update bad. Food was the same menu so we had the full meal which even at $69 per plate was a good price. Two of our group split the seafood tower, a $135 behemoth that was quite the statement coming to the table. Salad bar was excellent as usual, best hearts of palm I've ever seen in a business. The meat was the usual cuts with most being excellently cooked and tasty. However, we thought about five of the 16 offerings were tough and lacked seasoning. Top marks went to the Filet, Picahna, ribeye, coated pork (excellent), and the sausage were all great. The seafood tower was loved except for the crab claws, the ladies said they tasted "dry" so they may have been overcooked. This rating in no way reflects on the service; from the receptionist, to the server to the management, service was excellent and the Gauchos serving the meat did a fantastic job. One star off for the state of the restaurant, including the smelly bathrooms and one star off for the tough meats. We'll be back after they do some updating to the dining room. read more

We went to Fogo de Chão on Christmas Day. The service was impeccable. This review will be in comparison to Texas de Brazil. My favorite entrée is the beef ribs. However, they were a little salty and wasn't as good as Texas de Brazil. the other choices in some regards, weren't seasoned enough. I also thought their variety wasn't as good as Texas de Brazil. If you have a choice between Fogo de Chão and Texas de Brazil, there's really no choice at all. It's definitely Texas de Brazil. I also think Texas de Brazil is a little cheaper from what I remember. The best thing that I tasted was the pork belly. Even the salad bar wasn't as good. PS the Fogo de Chão location in Frisco was especially bad. read more
