You riding down Canal Street. You see the sign Fogo de Chao. Stop! Look! Enter. It is a Brazilian experience in the heart of NOLA.

Ky is so sweet. I have written several reviews on Fogo but my experience with Ky made me review before I left this establishment. Because she deserve to get her accolades A refreshing and great experience. ky is just two weeks in and knows what it take to make more than satisfied customers. Ky understood the rewards program and explained some things we were foggy on. On a Tuesday night out to claim our $1 reward, Ky turned it in to a $10 reward experience. In other words our drinks were amazing. Great membership experience if I do say so myself

Was a fun experience and enjoyed it! There is so much food! The lobster mac n cheese was amazing!

We ordered a lot to try and sample

Food Meat was flavorful but my pieces were kind of dry because the pieces were from the outside and well done I prefer my meat medium rare I couldn't seem to communicate what my preference is Service however was excellent Very attentive Polite Wanted to make things right Everything is clean classic simple not elegant or fancy Very comfortable There is only one ladies room so make sure you go early Overall it was a very good delicious experience to try all the different meat. My only wish is to get more medium rare slices of meat

New Year's Eve Dinner with amazing friends. The winner was the Garlic Steak, Parmesan Pork and Rack of Lamb. But the real MVP was our hilarious server Mitilde. She was friendly, efficient and just had a great attitude and jokes - the girl got jokes. We all really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and of course, the meats!! My friend also said the ginger soup from the salad bar was delicious. I am a big fan of the little red chili peppers and roasted garlic (also at the salad bar). Perfect with the picanha steak! We left so full we couldn't go out afterwards.

After dinner, we had to go to another place to get grilled cheese/fries for the person who never got any of the food he ordered.... So sad

We really have loved fogo de Chao experience in the past so we excited to bring a group of 11 for a dinner celebration. We did not realize it would become the worst dining experiences we ever had. We all arrived on time and were seated . Orders were taken. We all chose a meat dish except for two people. One person that ordered sea bass (trying to avoid red meat) and one vegetarian that ordered baked cauliflower. We were told that the market bar was included in our dish and it will be endless meat of our choice by just flipping the card at the table. The server will come meat to carve at the table. There was also suppose to be cheese bread and banana flambee. We grabbed a dish of the market bar which was decent... but the nightmare began... The server that was supposed to to bring various meat came one time only for the people who ordered picanha. The person who ordered lamp champ did not get any service until an hour into the dinner. The cheese bread also was not available (still in the oven till over an hour and half into dinner..) The person who ordered the sea bass (who avoids eating red meat) got the sea bass almost an hour into the meal. The outside looked beautifully baked but when he cut into the piece, it was translucently raw and cold in the middle.... He decided to change to chicken since he is now super hunger.. Another 40 mins later.. despite asking the server more couple time, the chicken never showed up.... I left the meal with only 2 slices of the meat since they only came once.... They said they should be coming 'soon'.... We asked for the server to speak to the manager. When we got the bill, instead of removing both the fish and chicken dish that we never received, the manager gave us a 'discount'.. since the person had the 'salad bar'!!! It was the worst service, food, and overall experience we ever had. We have been to many Fogo de Chao's. Would not recommend anyone to come to this location. Even though we shared our experience during the meal, the service never changed and the food ever arrived. The manger never apologized nor offered us any discount on all the other orders despite the fact the unlimited table side meat carving experience came "ONCE". While we were there The only picture we had was the grilled cheese and fries we got the person who never got any food while he was at the restaurant..

Second time here and it just keeps getting better! The food was amazing -- every bite was full of flavor. But what really makes this place special is the staff. Coco is absolutely incredible! So friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great time. Huge shoutout to Coco, Johnny, and Ivy for the warm, welcoming vibes. Can't wait to come back again!

My First Brazilian Steakhouse Experience -- A Carnivore's Dream This was my first-ever Brazilian steakhouse experience, and I had it at Fogo de Chão in New Orleans during my second visit to the city since 2000. These photos were taken in 2022, and the night was nothing short of unforgettable. Once I flipped the card to green, it was game on--servers arrived one after another with skewers of perfectly grilled meats. The picanha and ribeye were absolute highlights: juicy, tender, well-seasoned, and carved right at the table. The sides were just as memorable: 1. Sweet plantains - warm, caramelized, and comforting. 2. Polenta fries - crisp on the outside, soft inside, lightly dusted with cheese. 3. Mashed potatoes - smooth, rich, and topped with scallion oil. The service was fast, polished, and friendly. Everything flowed effortlessly, and the atmosphere had a festive yet refined energy that made the whole experience feel special. If you're a carnivore (like me ), this place is paradise. Fogo de Chão isn't just a restaurant--it's a full-on culinary performance centered around flavor, fire, and tradition. Highly recommended for meat lovers, first-timers, or anyone looking for a special night out.

Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Overall, the experience was average and did not fully meet those expectations. The charcuterie and cheese board, priced at $68, was underwhelming in both portion size and value. It included only six thin slices of cured meat and a small selection of cheeses. Unfortunately, one of the cheeses had an unpleasant flavor that made it inedible for our table. The bread service was a highlight, offering a nice variety of breads and accompaniments. The ribeye was cooked well and enjoyable, but it did not stand out from what I've experienced at other upscale steakhouses. The five-cheese couscous was the biggest disappointment, as it lacked the rich, flavorful profile its description suggested. While the service and presentation were appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the high expectations or the price point.

We got there a little before they opened but since it was raining they let us in and we waited off the side until they officially opened. Let me start by saying the restaurant is gorgeous! The ambience was grown and sexy and definitely gave fine dining. The waitress was pleasant and gave recommendations because I had no idea what to get. We got the bread to start and OMG that bread was delicious! It was buttery, with a honey flavor and 2 spreads to use. I wanted to eat it all but knew I had to eat an actual dish lol. My husband and I shared a small plate-the wagyu tacos. Lets just say I woke up thinking about those tacos I ordered a medium prime rib eye & my husband ordered a medium rare filet. His filet was perfect but my ribeye was overcooked. They made me a new one with no problem & were very apologetic. The new steak was more medium rare than medium but I still ate it and it was good but fatty. We shared the seafood mac & cheese which we both agreed was the best we had ever had. It was a huge portion so we ended up taking some home (didnt last very long after getting home). Lastly, we ordered the praline crème brûlée....another thing I woke up thinking about Im already thinking about the next time! 10 out of 10!

That being said, even though we were wearing casual tourist clothes we felt very welcomed by the staff. We enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful, the music playing, the staff was incredible as was the food. There was so much to take in as far as interior design. We loved it. We had some sort of steak, a starter and a salad. This was about a week ago, so I don't really remember exactly what we ordered. That being said the next night we tried a different restaurant with great reviews in the same neighborhood. The ambience was great there, but the food did not measure up. Immediately after that meal, we walked back to Morrow Steak to finish our trip on a high note. We shared the cauliflower starter again as well as a dessert this time - which was something I'd never heard of but incredible some sort of cheesecake that was purple. The first night we sat at a table and the second time we sat at the bar - and it was an equally wonderful experience. The bartender was extremely friendly and efficient. Again we were wearing casual clothes. Out of respect to the other patrons, I wish I had packed nicer clothes to wear but don't let this detour you if you didn't pack them. I wish this place was in my home town!

Now I'm sure the hostess is accustom to people bringing in their pets and lying that they're service dogs, so she told me that we had to sit outside. That's obviously illegal, we got the manager involved, the manager quickly understood that we weren't bringing a pet and got us sat inside. We ordered drinks, they took a long time to come out. I asked the grade of the Wagyu on the Manhattan steak, and the server told me it was "6 or 12 or something" Wagyu obviously comes A1-A5, so I asked him to go check. He came back and said it was A5. Not knowing Wagyu grades, and the drinks taking a while was the only place the service was lacking, he was otherwise delightful. $70 bucks seemed kind inexpensive for an A5, but I had never actually had one before so I ordered it medium rare. We ordered the seafood platter, that was fine, the breading on the shrimp was kinda soggy. Main courses comes out, and my medium rare steak was literally back black and blue. It was still cold in the center. I'm not one to send food back, but I couldn't eat it. Sent it back. It comes back quickly... too quickly, still way under cooked. Sent it back a 3rd time. At that point the rest of my family was done eating and I asked for it to just be removed instead. Which they did, and they boxed it up for me anyway in addition to comping all of our drinks, which was of course very nice. I ended up eating that steak for lunch the next day, and IF it was Wagyu, it was A1, there is a 0% chance that had the marbling to be an A5, I've had prime New York's from CostCo that had better marbling. So I give them 2 stars, the server had some learning to do, been there, but was very nice. They made up for their errors on the bill, I appreciate that, but we still went there with higher expectations. 2 stars is kind.

From the moment we sat down, the staff set the tone--professional, genuinely friendly, and impressively efficient. We began with a trio of starters that showcased both richness and restraint. The foie gras torchon was silky and indulgent, perfectly complemented by fruit confiture and warm, toasted Bellegarde Bakery bread--a classic pairing done right. Marinated crab claws, dressed in a lively chili vinaigrette, delivered a bright, briny punch, while the pickled pineapple and jalapeño chips added just the right balance of sweetness and heat. A cucumber salad rounded out the starters, crisp and refreshing, acting as a welcome palate reset before the mains. For entrées, comfort and finesse shared the plate. The confit chicken thighs were meltingly tender, paired with ham-braised greens swimming in a tangy apple cider vinegar broth. A lovely Dijon cream tied everything together, adding richness without overwhelming the dish. Equally memorable was the half smoked duck, beautifully executed and deeply flavorful, served over a smooth pumpkin-sweet potato purée. The cherry bourbon glaze brought a subtle sweetness, while the pepitas added texture and a nutty finish. Dessert was the perfect exclamation point on an already wonderful meal: a slice of hot chocolate cheesecake, decadent and deeply chocolaty, crowned with toasted marshmallow fluff that leaned just enough into nostalgia without crossing into excess. Toups Meatery continues to deliver thoughtful, soulful cooking with polish and heart--comfort food elevated, served by a team that clearly knows what they're doing. Was a very busy night and we walked in for a party of 7. I understand that it's crowded and busy,…read moreso we were very patient and respectful. We saw on the menu that checks could not be split, which was fine even though split would be preferable to us. So, when our server told us the check can't be split but she can "take multiple cards" I was a bit confused and asked if she could explain more since that's what we might do, since she said it was possible. Already there she gave attitude and said I don't know how else to explain it to you in a rude tone. After we finished our food, we asked her to take multiple cards for the check and she told us to write on the back what to charge each card. I apologize that I did misunderstand what she meant, and put the items rather than the exact amount to charge each card. She came back and said, "you did exactly what I said not to do." So I said sorry and was in the midst of redoing it by calculating when she just snatched it from me and said she'll just do it. I had no problem doing it nor did we complain even once. After a while, understandably, she came back and basically scolded us, saying what if she was busy she wouldn't have been able to do this....but she said she could do it in the first place! We understood from the get go no split checks but then she gave the option of multiple cards so obviously we took it. The food was good and the ambience was nice. I enjoyed the open kitchen concept and seeing the pizza oven. But the service ruined it for me. I work the food industry and would have never acted this way. Nevertheless, I would come again but would not want that server.

And if you can't / don't, they will politely take you to the attached bar area with no dress code. That being said, service in the dining room was excellent despite the busy evening (every table filled). Food was excellent, service was aces. It can be a little incongruent navigating the party jungle of Bourbon Street to get to this relatively quiet, nondescript front door, but once inside you are transported back in time to a gentler era and time of fine dining. We both selected creole-tilting seafood entrees (you can get a good steak just about anywhere) based upon our server's recommendations. He was spot on and everything we had that evening was tops. A definite go-to!

Opened in 2013, the place is a little less bougie but still emits a bit of Southern elegance. The custom-built arched bar, vinyl booths, marbled tables, & tin ceiling adds a bit of upscale charm. I always sit at the bar when I'm here and have an enjoyable conversation with the bartenders. An ice-cold martini is a must as is the Souffle Potatoes. On a recent visit I had the Crab Maison and Onion Rings, in addition to the Souffle Potatoes. The Crab Maison was very tasty, and the onion rings were perfect! I loved the seasoning.
